Help with root problem - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

This is the 2nd Kindle Fire 6.3.1 I've rooted. The first one works like a dream thanks to everyone here at xda, you guys also helped me root and overclock my s3. My friend asked me to do his kindle and I'm having problems I searched through the forums to no avail. I already had the driver installed and checked my device manager on windows 7 and saw that everything was working . I opened up ADB 0.9.6 saw that I was online and rooted it, everything went fine. When I tried to boot into recovery nothing happens well almost. When the kindle fire logo is up it flickers and I think I'm seeing the recovery screen but it's only for a fraction of a second. I can't get the triangle to pop up. I also don't have the SU in my app drawer. I have tried everything I can think of. Any ideas?

Kindle Fire stuck in FFF boot mode, cannot access recovery, and unrecognizable

Ok guys I'm going to try and give you as much detail as possible in the hopes that you can help me fix my Kindle Fire.
I originally rooted my kindle; it started acting funny about 6-8 months later and I tried a factory reset(this morning).
Now:
Kindle is stuck in FFF loading mode; it doesn't reset or turn on or off or anything like that it just hangs there.
Kindle is unrecognizable by windows, KFU, and Kindle Unbrick Utility.
Kindle also does not have access to the recovery menu I only have a FFF screen.
Any and all help is appreciated! PS I searched and searched and searched for someone with a similar situation to mine and did not find a fix. Also I read some of the stickies.

You're looking for an all encompassing solution to your problem instead of identifying what causes each symptom.
Try to find an answer to...
What does it mean when the KF is stuck at the FFF screen?
What would cause the KF to be unrecognizable by Windows?
What would keep you from having access to recovery if you have FFF installed?
Answer those questions and your problem is easy to fix.

[Q] KFU is stuck (urgent)!

So I'm trying to root my Kindle Fire using the newest Kindle Fire Utility (0.9.8+) but it got stuck in the very first download (twrp). It looks like there's some problem with the server, because I tried using the link it shows in the program and download it manually and also could not do it. It gets to a certain point, always going at around 2 or 3kb/s and then it completely stops, just like it happened in the program. Now I'm obviously not going to stay here forever so I would just like to know: Can I cancel this? Will it cause any damage to my Kindle if I stop it?
Thank you.

The problem was eventually solved! It was stuck there for some good half hour, then it kept retrying (some 20 times) before giving up and moving on with the other files. There was no indication that twrp was actually installed, but in the end everything was there.

[Q] Kindle Fire 1st gen Un-romming

The Problem I am having seems to be a Infinite boot logo after Undoing a custom Otter jelly bean KF rom. I went through the motions of ADB KFU booting into recovery. I factory restored, wiped and attempted to install my back up of the stock kindle fire rom. wiped caches, and then let it do its "boot up" how ever it did not move past that point, and has been stuck at the "kindle fire" logo screen.
Is there anyway to fix what I probably broke?
KFU Utility vers 0.9.6
TWRP vers 2.4.4
OS version Windows 8 X64
Kindle fire Rom version 6.2.1
Otter jelly bean was 4.2.1 a release sometime in February is the closest I can get. I can't exactly roll back now can I?
Any other information I forgot or neglected to supply on first post was unintentional. First time I have ever had a problem.
Thanks in advance
~ Zach
I had that problem awhile back. What I ended up doing was flashed another ROM and then see if it worked(it did). Then I flashed the stock ROM again and deleted everything. Cache, SD, factory reset etc. After that it seemed to be working just fine.

My problem is, I can't get the device out of this logo "loop" it won't let me install TWRP or the other one. Let alone get into the TWRP currently installed. I wonder if I can get Screen Shots up on here.

I think you're having the same problem I'm having. If you look at my post regarding stuck at logo that I posted yesterday see if it's the same.
What is your logo doing? Does it stay bright or does it turn on and blink and then fade?
Based on what I've read we need them to get them into fastboot and then side load TWRP and FFF and start again.
I think what we've done is removed or cleared too much in TWRP and our bootloaders are broken, but I could be talking out of my you know what.
Good luck to you and I will follow your thread and you may want to follow mine.
The only thing I can think of is getting a Factory Cable and reset you Kindle Fire

Leroy,
I think Jakey has it.
I was just about ready to pitch this thing in the trash and I decided to plug in my factory cable one last time and run KFU.
For whatever reason I decided to select the root option again even though it said status offline and it rerooted my device.
My logo is now white/blue and I think I can get a rom back onto it.
You may want to hit Skorpn up for a cable, he shipped it super fast and it's great work.
Leroy,
Since it seems you are having the same problem I was and replies are pretty slow in here these days (I'm sure most people are tired of repeat posts like mine), I thought I would post precisely what I did to fix mine.
I too had the infinite boot logo that stayed bright and tried everything from KFU, to unbrick tool, to Soupkit, nothing seemed to work. I bought a factory cable from Skorpn, but didn't really understand how to use it. I think there is so much information here and many various ways to get things fixed it takes awhile to digest it.
Right before I got ready to pitch it in the trash I figured I would try KFU one more time even though it wasn't seeing my Kindle. Device manager saw the ADB drivers in Android device though.
I plugged in the factory cable
Launched KFU
Device said "offline"
Tried various options until I finally saw the install permanent root with superuser (option 2)
That did the trick
I then unplugged my factory cable from both the PC and KF and booted the KF into recovery
I downloaded a ROM (Hashcodes and GAPPS) and side loaded them
That did it!
I'm not sure how or why since it said it was offline but it fixed it.
Again, Skorpn was awesome to work with and sent the cable to me quickly.
Good luck to you!

Stuck in fastboot

Hey
I have tried different things off forums on this site and others to no avail. My 3 gen kindle fire is stuck with fast boot on the screen and I cannot get out of it. I have restored to factory but it restarts in fast boot. Really fed up, it is old but I like it, is it salvageable?
Thanks in advamce

Kindle fire 2 red screen. help please

I have a kindle fire 2 and I thought it was a 1st gen because when I bought it on eBay it was advertised as that.
So I stupidly tried to flash a kindle fire 1st gen recovery and bootloader from a root app, because I was having trouble getting into fastboot mode. I now have a fastboot cable that my dad made for me (because I dont know how to use a soldering iron). But I still can't get it to go into fastboot mode, it just goes to the red screen after showing the kindle fire logo for half a second.
I would really appreciate some help because i'd really like to get it working.
I also have a Kindle Fire that I was confused about whether it was first or second generation. Everything mentions software version 6.x.x, but I couldn't find anything like that. Mine was running 10.5.1. I'm not 100% sure that's the right software version I was looking at. Anyway, it kept coming up as Otter-something in my device manager, and I finally found something saying Otter was 1st gen, and Blaze was 2nd gen. Then I installed the TWRP app, I think, to flash TWRP after I had it rooted, and it kept coming up saying it was Blaze. I can't remember what else, but I had multiple indicators suggesting it was 1st gen, and the same for 2nd gen. So since that app said Blaze, I flashed the Blaze TWRP file, and now it just boots to a red screen.
I do have a fastboot cable, and it boots up to the Fastboot traffic light screen, but if I try to run fastboot on my PC, I just get "waiting for device." I've looked at tons of guides that say "make sure blah blah in Android SDK." Am I right in thinking Android SDK has been replaced by Android studio? If so, how the hell do you do whatever they're telling you to do in Android Studio? Because I can't figure it out.
Any insight anyone can offer would be most appreciated.
