I made a few ROMs for the Acer Iconia Tab A100 so I figured I would try one out on the TF300 as well. It's a stock based ROM (10.4.2.20) but I have added some additions:

Instructions:
Make sure you do a FULL BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING
Also make sure you do a COMPLETE WIPE (Data/Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache)
Install ZIP from your SD card (or wherever you downloaded it to)
Reboot!

They've got time to work editing ROMs but I want to make an observation that will improve the post: Try a little better detail the improvements, which have used (ROM Features), do a survey to see what people prefer Launcher (In I particularly prefer the Apex) so the others will elect next.
In this section we have forgotten some of the Mod Cameras, keyboards, Sound Mod, it would be good to ask to include...
In the community we are always to test.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm really new to the TF300 (using an acer A500 for 1.5 years and currently have an A100, which I am more familiar with. Only got this tablet because someone shattered the screen and I gave them a new tablet and repaired this one) As I learn more about this guy I'll make improvements to this "custom" rom and with any luck, maybe somebody will enjoy it

Always nice to see another dev for our device
Nice bootani.
TB is not working correctly. Cant get most of my apps back. always parsing error.
But still a nice (love the font) and very smooth Rom.
Quadrant gives me around 6200.
Thats nearly as good as Clean with 1.800 OC, so when i think Clean is always with fsync disabled, a very nice score.
Will try a fully clean install with back to stock tomorrow and see if that will get TB to work.

That's odd. I just restored a whole bunch of apps with TiBU without problems. Did you try to uninstall it and reinstall it to see if that helped?

so, this is was I have testet:
1. Deinstall and reinstall TB >> Same error
2. Fully reinstall Rom with wipe of internal and Data, Flash Stock, flash Rom again >> Same Errors
Back to Clean for now.
What ROM were you using when you backed up the apps.
Also do you have the free or full version of TiBU?
Anybody else try this rom and run into similar problems?
Apparently that can happen when TiBU has a bad backup. Do all the apps restore correctly on other ROMs?
I got this quote from the TiBU troubleshooting section of their website:
16. I have a bad backup for an app. What should I do?
When you backup an app, the "old" backed up APK is reused in the new backup (if the app version did not change).
For this reason: If you have a bad APK in a backup, you need to delete all backup(s) for that app.
To keep your data: reinstall that app from Market, restore data-only with Titanium Backup, then delete all backups for it.
On the next backup, the APK will be created again, and your backup will be (and remain) good.
I've also read somewhere that TiBU has issues with restoring (and backing up) if you have a bad version of Busybox installed. I think the one on my rom is ok (V6 says its ok lol)

Will try that one out next time. Backup was createt on Clean Rom. last Rom i was on was Hydro and after the fullwipe the latest Stock.
And I have the Pro version.
I flashed Clean again and all Apps were reinstalled fine there.

I have had the same problem with TB on different roms. I thinks sometimes you just get bad backups, but restoring only data with a new apk does normally fix the problem. Then just backup app and data again

How to install
New install
1. Are you on Gingebread? If not, Flash a Gingerbread firmware (E.g XXJVP)
2. Flash a Custom kernel, including CWM (E.g CF-Root, Speedmod)
3. Boot to Recovery, then go to:
> Mounts & Storage
> Format System, Cache, Data.
Mount USB Storage and place the zip file into root.
4. Choose in recovery:
> Install Zip from SdCard
> Choose zip from SdCard
> Select the zip file.

1. Go to recovery

Btw: i think the gradient problem is related to voodoo color, everytime I use a vc kernel i get it, but it wont happen woth stock colors.

Yes, that is the case. Though, glitch atm only has Voodoo Color, a kernel like fugumod should fix the gradient issues though.
Gonna test it. Can you pls add some screenshots.

One thing that keeps me from moving to MIUI ROMs is the 3G video call feature that is supported in stock ROMs.

Hi,
Do u mean apps like skype or the actual phone app? the phone app will unfortunately not support it as samsung hacked video calls in i believe.

This may be the first ever Miui rom I flash, now a couple of questions....
Is it user friendly and stable, i play games, browse and text a lot, will it last a good day or so battery?
Tethering, on a normal galaxy s rom, using android AP, i tether (quite a lot), can this rom accept tethering?
last of all, is it simple to flash? just put file into CWM, clear all and flash????
oh one last thing.... any bugs???? and can it run everything a normal galaxy rom can
**EDIT.... crunch engine....do I need to mess about with all this?????

For me, i simply text, call, occasional Google+ and facebook and it will last me more than a day.
Tethering should work just fine.
And yes, though ensure u are on gb bootloaders and format system, cache, data then flash.
crunch engine, you can leave as default, you can mess with it if u want to find what works best for you.

i'm not entirely sure myself, but it'd probably be hard otherwise someone would have done it already
this looks good, generally i don`t like miui because of the lag (and iOS look)
but if you said that you fixed that (the lag, not the look) i will give this a try when i have time

Installation
download Base + Essentials and copy them to your internal sdcard
reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition and dalvic cache
install Base ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
don't shut down/reboot phone right after 1st boot! Wait at least 3 minutes...
reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
install Essentials Add-on from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
phone will auto-reboot into ICS S.U.R.F.A.C.E.
If you got bootloops at first try, don't panic. Pull out battery, go into recovery mode and go true the flashing sequence again

Camera does not support scene modes
Phone unnecessarily gets data connection on device encryption password enter screen.
Cannot format external SD
Sometimes duplicates listing of external SD files in the media database
Android OS battery usage display higher than normal.
Sometime wrong SMS selected for forwarding

enable "force GPU rendering" in settings/developer options

Can I mount the phone as mass storage via USB?
The default configuration is to transfer files via MTP from within android. The below command can be used to change into USB Mass Storage mode (starting from BUILD6). USB Mass Storage mode is always used in recovery.

Please reboot after executing the command.
I can't adb into the phone!
The build currently uses Galaxy Nexus driver due to the MTP support. Please download the driver here: http://www.multiupload.com/BUCFT8M42N. In mass storage mode (or recovery), the Nexus S driver should be used.
Can I flash other modems?
You may flash modem packages designed for CM7.
Does 3G work? Do I need to install a script for it?
3G works out of the box without the need for any script hack. If it doesn't connect, please check if you have the correct APN.
How do I take a screenshot?
The screenshot taking function is built into ICS. Hold volume down + power.
Can I use CM7 kernels?
No, the kernel has modifications to make graphics, camera, data counter and data limit work.
Can I disable LED Notification?
Yes. Untick Settings -> Display -> Pulse notification light.
Maps keeps asking me to sign in even though I'm signed in!
Ignore the sign in dialog and pull down the notification menu. Answer the request for permission. Do this a few times and Maps will work.
How do I enter Galaxy S Settings (Device Settings)?
Type "am start com.cyanogenmod.AriesParts/.AriesParts" from adb. Or starting from BUILD 7, it is available as an icon in your launcher.
How do I enter service mode?
Type "*#*#197328640#*#*" into the dialer.
Is there a Captivate/Vibrant version?
A captivate build from the same source (but with captivate config) is available here. We currently lack a developer/maintainer for Vibrant.
Does this work for I9000B?
No, the I9000B requires a different kernel configuration. A build for I9000B may be added later in the process.
What's working? Why is there only a list of issues?
Everything else not listed are supposed to be working (aside from the usual CM7 bugs). If they're not listed, please post so that they can be added to the list of issues. A list of issues is far more useful from a development standpoint.
Why am I getting notified that my data partition is getting full when I have 1+ GB free?
Your /datadata partition, a smaller partition, is getting full.

Voodoo Control is working perfectly fine, except for the color tuning.
I'm sure Pawip or another brave kernel developer will release something soon

It could well be that the integrated APN list is not readed correctly in ICS. I will investigate this.
Please be aware that the task manager is completely renewed in ICS.
Just long-press the home button and swype the apps you want to remove
TB is working fine for me but I'm sure updates to that app for ICS will follow soon also

No "major" probs, it's ready for everyday use as far as I'm concerned
Flash ahead, you'll be amazed... The rom runs exceptionally well for an alpha build and I've yet to run into a FC myself.

If you flash this ROM your phone will be working alright JJustin Perhaps better stick to S.U.R.F.A.C.E. v8.0 (Samsung version) to be in a more stable environment?
I played, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Can Knockdown II, Samurai II Vengeance, Dungeon Hunter II, Nova II,... without any errors or lag, just as on Samsung ROM's

Just flashed the updated base (RC2) and essentials (still RC1?), and I still can't get my calendar to sync. Same problem as before on RC1. I did a factory reset and wiped cache/dalvik cache after I flashed base+essentials.
Is it working for anyone else? Also, just a minor thing, in 'about phone' it still says Surface RC1.
edit: I also cannot get my APN to work.. I filled in all the fields, although I don't understand why this would be necessary. I don't really know what to fill in the 'server' field, right now I have http://live.vodafone.com but I'm not sure if that's correct, because it's always been empty.

I think you should be fine if you do a factory reset/wipe (dalvik) cache and then flash ICS Surface. You can just follow the instructions from the first page..

We will try our best. In fact those CM9-builds are Nightlys, they need to be tested before. And there won't be that many changes from Nightly to Nightly. If there are bigger changes, let us know and we will try to update as fast as possible.

A way to disable auto rotate of home screen on tw4 launcher (if possible). I don't want to turn it off totally, just the launcher.

Note/Optional Steps:

Installation Instructions:
0- Move the rom to your device
1- Reboot in recovery
2- Make a backup - there's always 1% chance somothing goes wrong.
3- Full wipe is recommended....Wipe data/factory reset.
4- Flash the rom. Take your time and wait..Formatting will take some times
5- Flash Aroma package to install removed LG Apps.
6- Wipe cache partition---Wipe Cache

I know, "uploading". Before there was no link, so I assumed (apparently incorrectly) that when a link was put up it would actually link.
Link is online now. If you miss the google keyboard after installation just continue until the preloaded apps from boot up folder finish. Enjoy

YES. about 800 MB. Maybe I gonna slim it down further. Double-tap (screen off) is not working with other launcher. You have to use LG Home/launcher by now

You can use for example Nova launcher and Screen off and lock as a replacement

Very cool. I just flashed over my stock and it kept all my apps, and added a few! I noticed the fast boot right away. Awesome.
One thing I noticed though, the bottom row of apps on the home screens seems to be partially cut...

I introduce to you my new rom based on HTC ONE V (RUU 2.22 Europe) with some stuff from HTC Desire X (RUU 1.18). This rom have many tweeks that you will not find them in any SENSE LITE rom (e.g. 5, 7 or 9 desktops, live wallpapers from personalize settings). This rom is very fast, beauty and stable.

Great news. Will be tested
Some slight lag at first (as expected to me right after a fresh flash of a rom) but after I use it more and more it's quite smooth. I have 2D instead of 3D with 5 homescreens, and practically nothing installed except Twitter. Pretty much at this rate the only Sense 4.x rom I can see myself using as a daily driver instead of just messing around with. All that's left is to see what my battery life is at in about 9-11 hours when I plug my phone in for bed.
wifi not working
Hello.
Its really nice, but somehow my wifi wont work. It dont want to connect to my network. When i reboot, it will connect once, but without access to internet. when i disable it and enable again, its not connecting.

Hello, I flashed this ROM but it gives me error after sometime when phone boot "sdcard unexpectedly removed" this is really weird to me.

Found 1 program which doesn't work
Playing around with the ROM and this program https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=panorama.activity does not work for me. The screen is blank and I have attached a logcat as well for you.
I have been using this ROM for a day now
Besides the camera program issue, I haven't found any other issues. I run my ROMS a little different.
First on ICS/JB ROMS I run the swap file in /cache instead of the sdcard and also I change the minfree (I run a script to do it) to 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000, which for me seems to give good results.
Also the wifi calling app (VisionWifiCalling_v3.1_Android4.0.x.zip) works for me as well.
I am using the 3.0.63 advanced sense kernel r2, and was wondering what others are using and how well it is working for them.

Very aggressive OOM killer is bad idea for low memory devices.
Version 1.1.1 is up.
One small little thing I noticed is say if I turned on my phone, and the first app I opened was the Play store, every other app I open after that shows, well the best way to put it is kind of a screenshot like thingy of the first app you opened, if that makes sense, and hopefully if it does others know what I'm meaning. xD

Yes it is aggressive, but I have never had issues and for me I get the performance I desire.
Version 1.1.2 is up.
There will be no more updates for a while. The Next step is MIUI v5.
I must share with you guys with my older roms - MIUI v3 and MIUI v4, but first I must translate installers .

Thanks, this (at least to me) does seem like the best 4.0.3 Sense ROM, using it as a DD (or is it dd).
I do have 1 question: Advantages between the different kernels (as the other Sense ROMS seem to all use the .50 kernel - unless you manually flash a new one)?

This is tuff question, everyone should test this kernels and choice favorite one. I prefer Faka 3.0.72 kernel or Advanced sense kernel r2. They have really good performance and runs very smooth (I like SIO scheduler and smartassv2 governor).
Others roms using .50 kernels, maybe because kernels .60+ have system write mounting bug. In this rom I applied workaround for this bug.
