[BOOTANIMATION) Custom bootanimations for CM Nightlys/CyanogenMod 6.1.1

So some users asked for my custom boot animations, and then
I had the idea to start a topic where the users show their
created bootanimations!
Bootanimations should work at the CM Nightly Builds too!
Now time to start with my first try!

Yeah right, but today a bit tired, had night shift still friday

are we just supposed to copy the file to /data/local? I did that and I just got a blank screen for the boot animation

Look at the modded framework thread and download "Color Stat"
open with winrar at look at the update script,there is the bootanimation
symlinked to data/local.

okay so I have it extracted and I see the bootanimation.zip in the data/local folder but what do I do with it from there?
Im reading alot about aliases does that have anything to do with symlink?

Creat right folders,Updat Script,zip the files and sign again.
Difficult to explain for me I´m from germany.
Maybe there are other methods to do this!

anyway to make a zip to just flash through recovery?

once you download the file, extract the bootanimation.zip file to the root of the sd card and then using either rootexplorer or terminal copy to /system/media

Or just flash it in recovery wont work through rom manager but just flash it manually through clockwork and your golden!

What we need is a hybrid of the dancing droid and the cyanogen default. Make him Cyanogen colors and put him in the middle of the spinning circle

Hey guys! I know you're all hyped-up with Jelly Bean, and I just ported THE Galaxy Nexus' Jelly Bean boot animation for you.

If you have a 100% stock ROM, then this won't work at all for you. Samsung has their proprietary Boot animation file extensions and they support sound. For non-stock ROMs, like CM7, CM9, CM10, or custom stock-based ROMs, you need to go to your root explorer (might be ES File Explorer or Root Explorer), go to /system/media and delete the bootanimation.zip (or, alternatively, change its extension to .bak, to keep a backup, just in case). Then paste the zip I provided, and change the permissions (by holding down the .zip folder, go to the "Change Permissions" option) this way:

Reboot, and that's it!

use your root explorer, open your parent folder > system > media
rename the bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak for backup
then paste the new bootanimation.zip that you have downloaded.
dont forget to set permission: rw-r--r--
reboot your phone and see what happen

the first one doesnt work because u did not create zip as "keep" ... its simply compressed!
After u change it to keep and install it ... size is really really really OFF!
But non-a-less good job!

How is size really really off?
Any way you can be more specific about it, so I can fix it?

Fully working now, tested with a couple of Aces

Cool bootanimation, sadly not working on my Ace. I have push it to system/media, change the name to bootanimation.zip and replace the old one, set the permission to rw-r--r-- and still... not working.

I never change permissions when i change my bootanimation. Has always worked.

I believe your ROM is 100% stock, however rooted, this might not be for you...

so what should i do then???
help??

Install either CM or any custom ROM based on Stock.

No, it shouldn't be renamed, just put it into /system/media/ with a root explorer

No...I dont think so....
It worked for me when I renamed it to bootanimation.zip.
Also, dont forget to change permissions to rw-r--r--.

not workin'...it appears only "ANDROID" but with a special font

I didn't think it was going to work when I booted up my phone but then I saw the best looking boot animation ever! Good work!

Check the name of the file. It should be "bootanimation.zip" and the permissions rw-r--r--.

Just replace the bootanimation.zip in system/media with this one.You can take a backup of your old bootanimation.

If you want you can rename the old one "bootanimation.zip.bak" in the case you want to use it for future. Also, just put this new one (copy/paste) like it's indicate in first post.

For me also its not working, as IM using Myth Rom .

U have to paste it in system/media
Set permission (rw-r-r)
And rename it in bootanimation.zip
Press the thanks button in my post
And then reboot and watch the bootanimation

Thanks for that bootanimation It looks nice in screenshots..
But, even after renaming the zip to "bootanimation.zip" and copying it to /system/media and permissiorns to rw-r-r-, still samsung logo appears when I reboot.. Please help me! (i tried with "rwxrwxrwx" also)
I am using galaxy ace S5830(obviously rooted) stock rom with DDKQ8 baseband and cwm 5.something recovery...
And adding to the info, there wasn't any "bootanimation.zip" placed at that location(/system/media) before I copied it, just in case if there was supposed to be one...

There is no JB for SGY. The ROM that you are mostly likely using is a JB themed CM7 ROM. CM7 ROMs do not have this samsungani file as it is only for stock and stock based ROMs.

I have gile samsungani as well as bootanimation in system/bin dirctory.
but when i open them they show some irregular text as in image attached.
my rom is jellyblast v3.0.4!

It Is A Binary File.....Just For Compiled,You Can't Read Them As Plain Text...
You Have Stock "Samsungani" File,First Download And Install Custom "bootanimation" And "samsungani" File.The Custom "samsungani" File You Can Read And Write As Well I Described.
