[Q] Question? - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which phone is better. Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 or Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 X?

For me its ace 2 ..
800 MHz dual core and ace 2 x is 1 Ghz I think
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium

I'll help weigh the Pro's and Con's then.
ACE II
CPU: 800 MHz (Dual-Core)
RAM: 768 RAM
GPU: Mali-400
CARRIER: Global (more or less)
OS: 2.3.6 / 4.1.2
FIRMWARE SUPPORT: Yes
ACE IIx
CPU: 1 GHz (Single-Core)
RAM: As for RAM, users say there's no "physical" RAM onboard
GPU: no data for GPU
CARRIER: So far, Canda only (I think)
OS: 4.0.4
FIRMWARE SUPPORT: None so far, not even stock firmware

What? It hasn't firmware support? So nothing is inside it?!?

No. I mean Samsung did not release any firmware for the public, i.e. nothing on Sammobile and no physical file to restore the phone.
They have one source code and there seems to be no dev among the owners.

The ace 2 is better!
Why did you create a new thread! Just ask in Q and A thread!

I'll tell you why, because xda has no newbs anymore, it only has noobs. We have been telling to EVERY single 1 person and thread that there is no point in making new threads about something u can ask in the Q AND A THREAD, I used to dislike this video here ->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA before I make an account here but now I totally agree...This past month I stopped helping by answering question just for that reason.

My fear is that the Exynos processor will not come in the US version of the Note2
I need to ask the question, will we be using this for English note 2, our is this only for American version when released?

mini 2 using MSM 7227, it's mean AMRv6. remember AMRv7 is only for mid-end and high-end devices
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_mini_2_s6500-3883.php
and also has same camera
also using same GPU: adreno 200
also has same resolution

Sadly no, both of these (Ace2/Mini2) use the Qualcomm MSM7227A which is ARMv7. Our devices (Ace/Gio/Mini/Fit) use the MSM7227T (only a litography shrink allowing 800MHz stock clock, the T is for turbo) - and that is still ARMv6. So still no libs for ARMv6.
sorry. i have a mistakes. just take info from gsmarena. they said that mini 2 using MSM 7227, not 7227A. sorry for all
And would have to resize a lot.. Its easier to port JB from another arm v7 device, and that is already hard.
Nust stick with cm10

sad to hear it however, we still can feel the taste of ics and jelly bean on our device, even not 100% working hardware
Galaxy Beam will receive update?? is not ARMv6?
See this http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/24/samsung-rolling-jelly-bean-toward-most-of-its-smartphone-tablet/
Let me confirm that mini 2 is armv7

Don't expect it would change anything on our Gio.
Samsung just won't release JB or even ICS for any ARMv6 device.
Just like mini 2 or ace plus wont get next version, just 1 software update...

Mini 2 is ARMv7. All devices that come with ICS or JB or Newer as Stock, have to be ARMv7
No manufacturer support for ARMv6 phones anymore :-|

Why concentrate only on high end devices??!!

hello,
I am a sad owner of galaxy ace plus..I bought dis mobile 3 months back when it was released..I thought there will be lots of custom roms releasing in time for my ace plus as galaxy ace has lot of roms..
But unfortunately there are no good roms(there are roms but not good ics or jb based)..really disappointed because of this..
only relief is that official jb is supposed to release for ace plus..God knows when..
P.S- xda guys..can you please tell us d reason for completely ignoring ace plus?? there is not a separate forum also fa ace plus when you ve opened a forum for s3 mini before its release oly..!!
even d lower end phones like galaxy y have got separate forums..

If you want a forum for your phone then put a request in the New Device Forum Request thread.
As for development - if the guys who like to develop ROMs don't buy the phone then you won't get much development - and most of them like to concentrate on new, shiny toys
If Jellybean is released then it will give users more reasons to buy it (making the phone more popular) and give developers something more tempting to work on, both in terms of code development (JB instead of being stuck on GB) and user acceptance (potential donations).

XDA as an entity adds forums for devices with sufficient mainstream acceptance. The Galaxy Ace Plus is frankly a "nobody" in the market for about 99% of the regions in the world it is sold in.
Developers here tend to develop on the best handsets (why would they use a Galaxy Ace Plus when they could use a Galaxy S3 which is vastly superior?), so the majority of major development is on flagship high-end devices.
There has also been a trend lately to try and avoid empty forums that offer "false promises" to users (despite the fact XDA itself doesn't do any development for any phone). As such, unless a phone is going to be a major success with huge development, we will not add a forum for it. The Galaxy Ace Plus (and other such phones) fall into this category, as they are of hugely limited interest to developers.

You seem to be forgetting that the galaxy ace plus could never hope to run JB!
It just doesnt have the power/ram/storage (mem).

That's not true, Snapdragon S1, 512MB RAM, 3GB storage is enough for JB. There are devices with same specs running ICS and JB doesn't have more hardware requirements than ICS.
You're wrong, its official they are developing ics for ace plus...
But sadly not my normal ace as its specs are nowhere near whats needed
The usual "Xx James xX" only on mobile...

A total NO! Since Ace 2 is ARMV7 and has Dual-Core 800Mhz processor with different display and so on. While Gio is ARMV6 And has single core 800 Mhz processor! If it was even possible it would take a lot of time to make it boot fix big issues!
Can be possible but requires an hard smali work to complete this
Ok thanks guys! Well I guess that I'll just buy a Ace 2, because I don't really think that someone will make this
