Rom with Smooth UI and battery life

I know this is a pretty dumb and common question but i wouldn't have asked if i didn't need to ask it badly. I am leaving leaving my place for a month and i would need a longer battery life between charges because i will mostly be on picnic outside or doing something else where the connection won't be possible. Two things i would ask is that whether the LC ICS atm has good battery life because i had stopped flashing a while ago and i don't have time to go through every rom just to record battery life. Also how is the 480p on LC ICS compared to the 720p on GB roms because i will be recording A LOT from my phone. If LC's rom isn't that stable then can someone link me to a good GB rom with smooth interface and good battery life. By "good" i mean 8-12 hours with moderate use, is that a lot? and of course more is better.
EDIT: oh yeah, Mods! please don't lock this right away xD
Thanks a lot in advance !
This gotta be in the Q&A section.
Back to your question:
I would maybe recommend cyanogenmod 7.2 or ARHD roms.

I guess that CM7.2 is your call...has no sense at all, but works great and battery life is great. Take into consideration that battery life is not awesome in this device, but CM7.2 is not bad at all...also paranoid android is awesome, but is ICS and camera is not as smooth as in GB.
If not, you can try CoreDroid V9.4 or the Energy Rom...both have great battery life and no lags at all at least for me....

Hope it helps....
The best rom I ever had in terms of battery and smoothness was Bindroid. It's Android 2.3.5 and sense 3.5.
I don't have a link but you should easily find it by google.....

Best kernel for better battery life HTC One X ??

Hi All,
I updated my phone to ARHD 9.7.2 but i see a little help with battery drainage, have seen that some custom kernels can help with getting a better Battery Life.
Is anybody out there using the custome kernel and getting a good battery life.
Note: I use it mostly for calls and WiFi and some gaming it last me only 6hrs max :'(
Different ROM + different kernel = different result
You have to test it yourself and tell which combination is the best for you..
And for God sake there's no need to make another thread like this..
This thread belong to Battery Stats thread..just keep your post there..
All the best..

I'm new to all this myself, but from what I have been able to learn most ROMs will give battery life and performance improvement. As far as gaming specific ROMs, I am not even sure it will make a difference...
People use lots of different ROMs for daily use - usually they will post in the ROM thread saying something like "this is now my daily..." You could try the search term "my daily" and see what pops up?
But if you just want to make sure you're getting best battery life and don't necessarily want the extra features of a ROM, you could always just check that there's nothing putting unnecessary drain on it. Check out these links for tips on optimising your battery:

You can use those battery tips even if you're running a ROM, so I'd say it's worth looking at those first... hope that helps!

ROM's are too subjective to what each individual person likes so you cannot say one ROM is better than the rest. What you think is the best ROM might be someone else's worst ROM.

There is no correct answer to this. Different folks have different setups that work for them. It is all experimentation on your part.
Run something like Better Battery Stats and figure out what is draining your battery. Then figure out ways to conserve that battery.

Try leankernel for 4.2.2 bro...
Try latest from stable builds

Or try light or near stock ROMs like purity
