GPS, wifi data problem - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I've looked around the thread but haven't found a solution (haven't really seen the same problem either). I'm on cm10.1 nightlies and having issues with the GPS. When I have wifi enabled GPS works fast and accurately but when I'm just on data GPS doesn't seem to work at all: can't get location, searching for GPS indefinitely. Does anyone know of a solution, have a similar problem, etc? Thanks.

GPS aGps location fix issue

hi guys,
need your help on this before i get mad and throw my gnex out of the window.
im experiencing great problems with gps fix on any offline gps navigator like copilot or sygic. The gps fix is hard to get and even when it works its really wiggly m it goes on and off continuously and soetimes it puts me kms away from where i really am. Annoying.
Im on aokp build 36 / franco kernel and already tried the gps fix (i used faster gps) setting the server to europe/italy but no luck so far.
Does the agps activate automatically with gps? how do u turn on barometer?
is there anyone who can spare an advice on this? maybe updating radio?
thanks in advance!
Try using an app like gps status to download agps data before you go offline? I guessing you can't get a GPS fix because you have no data connection...

[Q] SlimKat GPS bug

Hi,
I`m not allowed to comment on the dev thread so I`m doing it here...
I love slimroms and I`ve been using it since SlimBean is out there, thanks for everyone doing the hard work!
Since I updated to SlimKat, my GPS doesn`t work, no satellites reception at all. I tried to look for errors over adb and saw that the error is No XTRA servers available...
Just to confirm, I flushed few other CM roms and GPS is working perfectly in these, so the problem is in SlimKat only.
I saw few references in the dev thread but nobody said anything about possible solution.
Would be happy to go back to SlimKat once this problem solved.
Does anybody else have this problem? Any solution?
Thanks.
Any answers? Solution? Anyone?
Can anyone take a working GPS code from any of the other CM roms?
Still doesn't work on new build 2.4
see attached logs.
yeah, this is broken for me too. if i have data and wifi on i can still get a location fix though in the city, but not outside of the city.
GPS Location not working SGH T989 Slimkat
I am having the same issue on my T989, and am looking for a possible solution. I've enabled high accuracy and even enabled the wifi and what not. However, I still cannot get a location. I'm gonna have to switch to another ROM until the issue is resolved, but I don't really want to So if anyone from anywhere can help me fix this issue, It'd help out a lot...
i am having the same issue, can't patch agps too having status 0. it doesn't work when i try copying that files in /etc myself
GPS + Camera issue
Other than the GPS issue, what about camera? The camera does not work for me in Hangouts or Skype (SlimKat).
No camera and no GPS. Try carbon Rom 4.4.2 if you want those to work. Just as smooth.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Yeah there really is no point in these posts because even the developer has established that SlimKat has issues with T989 thus the reason there have been no further builds since 2/3. If people are still going to use it anyway then they accept the consequences of doing so. Not ripping anybody but these questions keep popping up all the time. Use another ROM if you want GPS & camera, there are no ifs, ands or buts about that.

WI-Fi and GPS fixes? I can't find them anywhere

I'm back to playing around with the Note 2 (SGH-t889), though now the T-Mobile version instead of Sprint. Seems there are a lot of the same bugs or bumps in the road with this version. Wi-Fi and GPS seem to be weak points in ROMs and die often. I remember that there were patches available somewhere, but I can't find them here on XDA using the built-in search function. I found a thread for the n7100 crowd disassembling their Note 2's, but that is not what I am referring to (nor did any of them have any success). Both of these problems are software related and can be fixed with software.
Does anyone have links to the threads, or files, required to:
fix GPS if you can't get a lock (location currently unavailable)
turn on Wi-Fi if it can't be turned on
EDIT
I kept searching, and while I didn't find any files, I did solve my GPS not working. I had backed down from 4.4.2 to 4.1.x to solve an IMEI problem and then GPS stopped working. Resetting to factory defaults and giving it a minute got GPS working. This time around, I have not had a Wi-Fi problem.

Best ROM without GPS problems?

I've already try and test DU, but the GPS didn't work for me. Searching in some forums i've seen that other people has the same problem with DU from Davide.
There's any custom ROM without GPS problems? I need it for the car and is very annoying and frustrating not been able to use it.
I'm using cosmic and everything is working fine, including GPS.

Waze GPS signal dropping.

Folks, hello!
I'm having this issue as shown in the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnHveA_vk08
The GPS signal in Waze (and only Waze) keeps floating, on and off, on and off... I can barely follow a route.
Curious that GPS signal is perfect, I don't have any problem with other apps like Google Maps, Here WeGo etc., only Waze.
Btw, already re-flashed ROM (Jaguar r14) and tried all apps like GPS status & toolbox, with no success.
Anyone else experiencing something like this?
Regards.

May be it will be more effective to ask this question to Waze devs?!
I've tried waze forums, no luck
