Did you make sure to wipe both system and data before flashing? Also I know there is an issue with flashing any type of inverted contacts app or theme that will cause this with PA roms.

That may be your issue. Your not supposed to do it after flashing. This removes needed system and data files that are flashed during rom installtion.

[Q] Phone dialer not working

S-Off [ROM][4.0.4][CM9 Hybrid] Paranoid Android RLS 1
Everything is working fine the only thing that's not working right now is the phone dialer. I can't make or receive calls as it crashes. Anything that has to do with the phone such as editing contacts causes it to crash. Messaging works though.

if you read the first post it says if you get force closes on the dialer to go to recovery and fix permissions and it should work

Yeah I read that, I wasn't able to find that though as I'm not on cwm. I'm on ra supersonic-v2.3 recovery. Do i need cwm to fix the permissions? I'll look through the settings of this recovery though.

[Q] How can I fix Sprint dialer codes like ##3282#?

I am on the JellyBomb ROM and the dialer codes do not work. I have tried replacing secphone.apk and seccontacts.apk from stock deodexed ROM, fixed permissions and that doesn't work. Anyone know what else I can try to get dialer codes working on JellyBomb ROM?

Yes where would the best place be to find it ?
All, If like me you are referring to "dialer codes" such as *2 for customer service - you have to have the sprint app installed. Gone are the days when *2 would just autodial customer service, it now opens that app. This app is debloated as a standard with many ROMS so if you want it back you need to install the sprint zone app.

you would have to download the stock rom in update zip format.
Here is mine, but I have edited quite a few things. all the dialer codes work though.

According to your post, without the Sprint Zone app, the dialer codes are not working. I froze it with Titanium back up. I defrosted it but the dial still does not work ##3282#. Nothing change.

I figured it out. I used Titanium back up to freeze many apps. right after that I cant use the sprint dialer.
Thanks

Fixed the SMS problem :D But only if you're rooted :(

Find the folder: system/priv-app/message and delete everything inside it.
Now you've got no SMS app and two options:
1. Download an aftermarket app
2. Put the APK I've attached into the folder, boot into recovery, wipe the cache partition and reboot.
You could just install the standard app as a regular app too I guess.
Steve..
hm...

XX I tried this when you suggested this in the discussion... didn't work.
I had a partially damaged sim. Only thing it couldnt do was send sms.
It sorta worked for me.
I deleted the stock message app
I wanted to use your message apk, but that didn't work as it was corrupted after reboot?
But as I used Google's Messenger app on my old phone, I installed that app and when I changed all the landcodes to the normal dutch mobile numbers without landcodes, it worked.
I could fully use the messenger app.
Example: I had a number +31 6 12345678
I changed it to 06 12345678
And it works!

I posted M6 Sense7 ROMs in the separate thread.
I am tried moving APKs from TW to JP version, not getting SMS working.... Google SMS is a nice aftermarket app, ALL sms apps have the same problem... problem must be deeper than SMS.APK

may be a silly question, but did you already go to settings > apps > google dialer and clear defaults?
if not, do that and next time you try to launch it should prompt which you want

Accidentally deleted Phone UI on AOKP ROM not knowing it was important

Galaxy Grand Duos i9082
I installed AOKP Custom ROM on my phone and was just trying to remove some system files, I was having the idea that I would install Google Phone app instead of the stock Phone app. I even deleted stock messages app....... Messages and everything is working fine on the device , only problem is when I receive a call, the call receiving GUI doesn't appear, no name, no number nothing........ I'm attending calls with the help of home button temporarily. Is there any way I can install the phone app again? I have ADB on PC(but don't know any command, so plz write the commands for me), the ROM file which I flashed, Philz 6 as recovery on Phone. As I just flashed the ROM and downloaded a lot of apps from from play store, I would like a way around flashing ROM again.
Thanks in advance

Yep. Or else, I can upload an Flashable Zip of PhoneUI. But more likely, you have to re-flash your ROM by backing up the "Data" partition.
