Accidentally deleted Phone UI on AOKP ROM not knowing it was important - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Galaxy Grand Duos i9082
I installed AOKP Custom ROM on my phone and was just trying to remove some system files, I was having the idea that I would install Google Phone app instead of the stock Phone app. I even deleted stock messages app....... Messages and everything is working fine on the device , only problem is when I receive a call, the call receiving GUI doesn't appear, no name, no number nothing........ I'm attending calls with the help of home button temporarily. Is there any way I can install the phone app again? I have ADB on PC(but don't know any command, so plz write the commands for me), the ROM file which I flashed, Philz 6 as recovery on Phone. As I just flashed the ROM and downloaded a lot of apps from from play store, I would like a way around flashing ROM again.
Thanks in advance

Yep. Or else, I can upload an Flashable Zip of PhoneUI. But more likely, you have to re-flash your ROM by backing up the "Data" partition.

try a data wipe, root will persist. assuming you didn't mess too much stuff up you should be back to stock with su
but agreed, something like this would be useful if you messed it up and didn't backup first

[Q] Will flashing a new ROM wipe my external micro sd card?

Hey guys, I was thinking about flashing a new ROM via CWM and I've been looking at alot of videos and tutorials online, and they all say, that when you install the new ROM you must "factory data reset" your phone from CWM. So my question is, what will that erase? Will it erase anything on my SD Card? And what programs should I use to backup my stuff, in case it does get deleted?

when you do a factory reset it will wipe internal storage not external(sd card). if you want to backup your apps etc. use either titanium backup or rom toolbox to do so.

once you back up your stuff. install titanium back or rom toolbox (whichever you used) from play store and select the restore option.
Edit- read this link for more detailed instructions..google is your best friend if you are not sure about something

one last advice before you flash read ALL the instruction 2-3 times and ONLY flash when you understand them completely. follow that advice and hopefully you will never brick or harm your phone. good luck

Titanium backup only does your apps and app data......I recommend Easy Backup cuz that will get your SMS, MMS, Contacts, Calender, call log and even your apps

For photos, i recommend using G-Photos Sync feature. for apps, titanium backup, for contacts (the best you can do is export them to a vcf file transfer it to your pc then import from vcf file)
(For music i contain all the sound files on the ext-sd since factory reset doesn't touch ext-sd).
But if you have lost any of your important files, your best chance of getting them back is using hiren's boot on your pc with the undeleter tools.

Force close when I try to get into 3G hotspot settings

I am getting a force close when I try to get into 3G hotspot settings, this is most likely related to the fact that I can no longer use my phone as a hotspot with ease.

Rooted, running andi bones.
it use to work fine, now I restore some backups but none cure the problem.
I have tried factory reset, and every backup I have and the problem is still there.
OK, I ended up going back to stock and installing the original rom I was running, now it's working, I think this got messed up when I tried UKB rom, and all my backups newer than stock would not take care of the problem.
Now I want to delete some of the backups and save a new backup, but I have not found the location of the backup files.

If you want help you've got to give us info. What recovery are you using? For twrp there is a folder on your sd card called twrp. I don't remember the name for the cwm folder because I haven't used it for a long time. I've never used 4ext, so if you are on that you'll have to wait for someone else's input.

Did you make sure to wipe both system and data before flashing? Also I know there is an issue with flashing any type of inverted contacts app or theme that will cause this with PA roms.

That may be your issue. Your not supposed to do it after flashing. This removes needed system and data files that are flashed during rom installtion.

[Q] Rooted my phone, can't flash any roms (I made a huge mistake)

A couple of months ago, I was getting bored of my phone so I decided to upgrade to android 2.3.3. I like it, but I felt like I should root my phone too. Heres the problem, I couldn't get unrevoked to work so I used revolutionary instead. They didn't have my hboot version so I proceeded with one of the hboot versions listed.
Everything went smoothly, my phone was now rooted, and I was able to free up more internal storage. I really wanted to flash a new rom though, so I commenced with the MIUI rom, and ended up getting stuck in a bootloop. I tried cynogen and the same thing happened. I tried a couple of other roms too, but none of them worked. I was just continuously getting stuck in a bootloop. (Yes, I cleared dalvik cache, wipe data etc..)
Has anyone else on the Desire done the same thing as I have? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hard to say what goes wrong on your end. First, I would suggest you to go ahead with stock hboot from http://alpharev.nl/ and flash a newer recovery tool, e.g. this one (4EXT Touchrecovery).
Then try one of VJ's JB roms and post the results.

a2sd is a script that allows you to install apps onto your sd card (specifically an ext partition). This is very useful since the desires internal memory is pretty bad, and with a2sd you can have around 1gb of space for apps. Some roms need an ext partition to work properly/boot.
Follow this guide to make the partition.

You should have used titanium backup for backing up your apps.
If u still have a nandroid backup of stock, you could restore it, backup apps with tb, flash the new rom, and finally restore the apps with tb.
Its quite a bit of work though...
