Firefox Alpha armv6
Disclaimer:
I do not take credit for this browser i did not develop it credits should go straight to mozilla for delivering there browser to armv6 devices.
Description:
The firefox alpha browser is not compatible with all of the current plugins available for the stable firefox browser that is already available on the market. Compatibility checking is based on the version number. After playing around with this browser while its still in alpha i find it to be quite stable and good for daily use.
Here's the OFFICIAL Mozilla file at Bugzilla for getting official support for ARMv6 devices.

Pretty cool to have firefox on armv6 finally, but the rendering is pretty slow even when I am on a 10mbps WiFi network. But its graphically cool and smooth.

he might have got it from madoco where a thread was recently made.
officially they aren't supporting it but they had a survey in africa and china where they found that most phones are arm6 so they have decided to try to work on it and here comes a version.
the thread mentioned above will always be updated to latest built as he is now developing it and the good thing the first built was shown on a white blade
i have added new mirrors to download the browser because my box bandwidth got blown away because of high amount of downloads. The new mirrors added are direct ftp, mediafire and deposit files

As epic as that would be... my money is on it being the launch of the "real" PS Suite on the Xperia Play :/
I think its just PS Suite and some other games, I don't have plans to get a new device soon either so I kind of hope its not a Xperia Play S or whatever because I need to face the temptation lol...
Off course it would be great for a successor but for me its just the wrong time lol, and by the time I do want a new device it would probably be by Jan 2013.

I'm in the exact same boat, would much rather they improved it rather than get something completely new at a time like this.

Agreed, I would rather pay £1,200 for a new iMac (I desperately need a new one, the computer I have now is about 2 years old) than dash out £600 - £700 for a device which will be out dated within a year or two (As in no more updates from Sony)
It would be funny if they release Xperia Play S.

before the release of ICS for the Play
I will probably not jump on an Xplay2 upon initial release, whenever in life that my or may not come to be, Im to in love with mine the way it is now and I dont really need or care to get a new one, but I have an upgrade on my account that is waiting for one should I ever change my mind
Just what if - Sony used the hardcore gamer group, as a test group to how such a phone would be accepted... I for myself love it and many do so too and with all the work we put in, they surely must have recognized that.
They saw that developers jumped on the wagon and optimized their games for the dpad (or at least made it available) 300+ games so far. If you bring a play2 out you can advertise with those + PS games maybe PSP games
They got all the Technologies to actually make a real good media/play phone with Bravia / Playstation / Walkman.
Tho I dont believe it will be with quad core or come out right now. It will probably be a Dual Core on 2ghz 1-2gig ram, some sony assigned graphics chip, 2 gb internal storage - so you have to buy the new special sony memory cards that will only fit in the phone.
Deliver it to Christmas and pay the review magazines properly this Time and cash in on the casual gamers.
(So basically the play was a succesfull testrun, sony now commits and makes resources available for a play2 )
// To be serious.
Also think it will be PS Suite

If they were smart they would make it quad core. HTC and Samsung already use quads and Motorola is working on it also. If the really make a play 2 I don't understand why it wouldn't be up to date on the physical end, dual cores are nice but a huge selling point would be pure power.
Edit : plus the vita isn't that old . An Xperia play 2 would probably hurt vita sales even if the xp2 came out for Christmas time. They have slightly different markets, sure, ones a phone and ones not but.. just my 2c

Hi,
Anyone has idea about the specs for this phone ?
Unofficial websites show 140mb internal memory. This should be too low for possible ICS upgrade, IMO. In that respect Karbonn A9 has better specs.
Also, with Spice annoucing the launch of MI-500 (ICS, 5" screen), there would be healthy competition in low end Android handsets in India.
Cheers.
nice thread . if i , by any chance , get the stock rom of the spice ics phone then i shall try and port the rom for you
note - i am not sure if it will work or not but i will try ........
if mi425's memory is 140mb, KA9 looks better!!!
I would love to see the mi425 ROM though. I like spice in terms of dual sm management.

I have provided links above which show the specs
140 MB is user available memory, its NOT for the OS.
The OS is installed in ROM, this ROM might be somewhere from 1 GB to 500 MB and it is a reserved space for OS, so dont worry about ICS, the handset has enough power to run it.

Would 140 MB User Available Memory be enough for apps. I understand that apps can be moved to SDC. However, some say that not all apps are movable e.g. G-Maps etc.
I am an Android newbie.

Move almost all Android apps to SD card (no root required)
This is posted before on xda.
Tired it on my venue on stock rom.
Helped me move my Large apk game files viz "asphalt 6, modern combat 2, assasins creed etc. " to SD card with ease.
Recovered some phone memory after that.
But memory hogging apps like whatsapp, some launchers, hancent, etc can be moved.
But once moved, if app supports widget. The widget support will be lost.
You need to move it back to phone memory for it.
heres the link.

Its not the same. It has a bigger screen and a much bigger battery
Also, its not the same as Huawei Ideos X6 (that was sold as Spice Mi-410, now stopped).
iGyaan + Saholic offers a meager Rs.200 discount on the MRP, totaling Rs.9800, but its available for Rs.9400 elsewhere
A brief review of the Spice Mi425 aka Spice Stellar
I bought it! Had been to a spice store to have a first look at the device. Was pretty much impressed and finally bought it. Here are some impressions gathered over a few weeks with the device:
Here's what you'll like...
The device has 320MB of user-available RAM after a fresh reboot. My Xperia X10 usually has 120-140 MB after a fresh boot.
Installed NFS Hot Pursuit, worked perfectly. (but crashed after 7-8 minutes). EA Real Racing 2 Works Awesome with perfect framerates.
Build quality is somewhere in the bracket (average --- good), but even small falls can give it a few nasty dents - make sure you have a silicon case or a hardshell handy..
Camera quality is pretty decent, though you need to play around with the settings to get a good shot. (Sample Pic)
Flash is extremely powerful and takes some really bright shots even in complete darkness
Updated! Excellent battery life. Scrill down for a complete review of battery performance.
Call clarity is very good and volume earpiece as well as loudspeakers are satisfactory
Updated! Video call/Skype: Video calls on skype work perfectly. Full marks here!!!
Updated! HD Video playback: Capable of playing short clips in 720p resolution. Also plays full movies in 720p but framerate drops and playback is slightly choppy.
...and here's what you won't like...
The proximity sensor issue was present, much like the Micromax A75 and Karbonn A9. It can be sorted out using the last 2 methods (option 4 & oprion 5) provided by prasad12ka4 the Karbonn A9 thread.
Updated! Initially it used to reboot very randomly. After a couple of days of 'running in', it's stable! No more reboots.
Music quality is mediocre at best
Forget gorilla glass. The screen is not even scratch-resistant.
Lots of bloatware (atleast till I get my hands on the root)
Updated! Video is recorded only in 3GP format. (Resolution: WQVGA/854x480, framerate: 30.14 fps, bitrate; 1200 kbps)
Updated! Sample Video Here!
Battery Performance Review New!
An average day of heavy usage used to last me around 18 hrs. I used under the following situations:
Dual SIMs in use
3G always activated on SIM1, only 2G and no internet in SIM2
Data connection always on, wifi always on.
And my usage pattern is usually the following
2-3 hours of 2G calls per day
35-40 text messages per day
Appx 2 hours of browsing on the phone using 3G
Apps 2 hrs of 3G use on my laptop using USB Tethering
Approx 1 hour of HD Games (Splinter Cell Conviction - addicted!)
2-3 snaps on the camera.
With such heavy usage, I am getting a life of 15-18 hours. A fully charged battery comfortably pulls me through from morning till bedtime.
Development & Rooting
For rooting, please follow fonehacker's thread HERE
Thanks

Excellent battery life. I have been using it quite heavily since last night and battery drop is around 50%. (3 hrs of 3G browsing + 1 hr of 2G calls + 1 hr of music thru earphones + 15-20 photos + misc meddling around with phone)
Call clarity is very good and volume earpiece as well as loudspeakers are satisfactory
Some Cons

No workarounds for HD video or HDMI. Sony won't release the source codes, they have dropped the 2011 devices for good. We may get 1-2 new firmwares, but nothing else.

PS4 and Xperia smartphone interactivity “completely happening” says Sony
Sony has confirmed that there will be increased interactivity between Xperia devices and the PS4 following the PS4 release date later this year.
Complementing the PS4 and PS Vita Remote Play connectivity, Sony has been working to increase the second screen compatibility of Xperia devices as well.
Part of the One Sony philosophy, President of Sony Mobile North West Europe Pierre Perron has confirmed that the PlayStation and Xperia team have been collaborating on the PS4 and Xperia relationship.
“This is absolutely not only in the agenda, but it is completely happening,” said Perron. “Our engineers that are working on the user interface that we put into our phones are also offering their services when it is necessary to ensure that the PlayStation 4 is fully compatible in certain scenarios to be connected [to Xperia devices].”
When the PS4 release date rolls around, those looking to purchase the console and a Sony Xperia device like the newly launched Sony Xperia Z1 or Sony Xperia Tablet Z will be able to enjoy new compatibility between devices.
“We have established a platform that is now compatible with our phone and we are offering as part of this ‘Play’ entertainment experience that we provide. The One Sony experience is happening behind the curtains, it’s not something that is just claimed on the stage by our president [Kazuo Hirai], it’s definitely happening.”
Arriving in the UK on November 29, the PS4 will be priced at £349 and comes complete with the all-new DualShock 4 controller. It will go head-to-head with the Xbox One which will hit the UK one week earlier on November 22.
“You can actually connect your phone to the DualShock controller so you can play games on your phone, using the DualShock controller to talk to your phone,” added Catherine Cherry, Marketing Director of Sony Mobile North West Europe. ”Ideally then you can connect your phone to your TV via the HDMI out port. There’s already things happening.”
With mobile gaming on the rise, Sony is looking to increase gamers’ options for playing different titles.
“PlayStation 4 is about bringing the best gaming experience for the core gamers. This is the future for them, a super powerful device like PS4 that will deliver the best class in every which way.”

Can't wait for that to happen because right now USB gamepads and MHL can't work at the same time.

lol it will mean squat, have you tried connection your phone using MHL to a tv?? it's wayy too laggy to play fast games.. i tried Asphalt 8 and it had an anoying delay, and was not too smooth...
on the phone it works perfectly fine even with cpu limit set at 1.2Ghz...
The current dualshock3 will connect without USB (after initial pairing).

This is a bad news. Are you sure there is no way to do this?

We should do a test. I think if you connect the phone via MHL to HDMI it's too much for him to processing the image because of high resolution. Maybe if we connect it via MHL cable to TV or any Screen via VGA connection will not have this behavior because VGA entrance do not request to much.

my old nokia N8 with a single 600 MHz cpu could deliver 720p on hdmi flawless.... including playing games, there is no hardware reason why Z1 beast should struggle... only bad software, hell, theres a good chance this phone has better cpu than my laptop!

And the answer is.... It's cable's fault it's not the software that limits it, it's not a resolution as our screen already is full HD just as TV, the size of pixel doesnt matter, and hardware of our phone is capable of 1080p screen mirroring just like lots of less powerfull processors. And I'm 100% sure about it, as I had some chinesse mhl cable that was lagging a lot, I googled it and found lots of people saying that it's because of ****te mhl cable so I bought a better one and... I finished asphalt 8, NFS Most wanted, modern warfare 3,4 and played other games on my tv without any lag. Just pay a bit more and get getter mhl cable, that will solve the problem
