General Information:
This is my continuation of doing AOKP PUB Builds for the Nexus 10. PUB (Project Unicorn Butter) aimed to bring Linaro toolchain and other optimizations to the normal AOKP build. My goal is to simply continue these builds providing releases based off current code. Current builds are using the latest (2013.09) release of the 4.8 Toolchain. Builds using O3, strict-aliasing, and other optimizations where applicable.
The original thread for reference:
Stephen.k.spear Orig PUB Builds Thread
Releases:
The target will be weekly builds on the weekend with a build during the week only where needed for bug fixes to be merged or some major change we just can't wait for
There are two Release Types
TYPE 1 is your traditional ROM Flashable zip.
You must flash gapps after flashing this ROM as it can not be included in the ROM zip.
Current Gapps: gapps-jb-20130813
Slim Gapps(needed for full Dark UI functionality): Slim Gapps 4.3 DownloadsTYPE 2 is an Aroma Installer that includes the ROM, latest gapps, and many other options. See Post 2 below for further details.More than likely any middle of the week builds will not get rolled into the Aroma.
Kernel:
I am currently building the AOKP manta kernel from source (stock). It is the kernel that will be installed if you just flash this as is. This is a perfectly fine daily driver, should be stable and safe across all devices.
If you are looking for better battery life, better performance during gaming, or even just more control over various settings at the kernel level then feel free to try one of the other great kernels offered for this device. I will not recommend one, I will recommend you try them all and see which works best for you.
Installation:
Download rom zip and gapps
Reboot to recovery
Wipe cache/dalvik (full wipe when needed)
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot

Optional Inverts:
You can get inverted applications in multiple ways. First I'd recommend going to System Settings and flipping the switch for Dark AOKP.
This will invert many of the core Gapps for you. For any other applications you may want inverted, there are two great threads that will make this trivial for you:
Midnight Gapps Project
Team BlackOut
Thanks:
To the following for allowing their hard work to be included in this aroma:
morfic - [DER KERNEL] Trinity Ten
franciscofranco - franco.Kernel
ktoonsez - KTManta kernel
camblue for the themed google now, google drive, and dropbox.
Thanks to MyLifeRocks10 for the Multi-DPI Google Play and Rujelus22
Rujelus22 for some other cherry picked inverts.
B-boy for a couple cherry picks as well.
BaNkS gapps
styckx for the Nexus 10-ONE boot animation
partimusprime for a bootanimation
of course to amarullz for creating the aroma installer.

Oh yea, finally we have your own thread! Thanks for your work :good: I'll be waiting every week to flash like a cracker the new aokp build :silly:

Sweet.

This is great. I love aroma installers I cannot wait for this to be released. I'll hold of flashing until then. I've never tried an AOKP based ROM and it's about time I tried. I don't like flashing non pre-rooted ROMs so the Aroma with that option will be great.
Many Thanks for your time and development on this.
Chris

I'm pretty sure aokp is pre rooted... Don't need aroma for that... What I'm excited for is all the pre packaged inverted apps he incl7des in his installer... Using his Rom on my nexus 7... SWEET!!

Re: [ROM] AOKP PUB 4.2.2 [+Aroma] [Mar-04-13]
The only thing I don't like about the themed apps is that they can't be updated in the play store. You get an "invalid signed package" message.
It's not that bad. Only time I ran into a problem is when I couldn't watch videos embedded in Falcon Pro bc I couldn't update to the latest YouTube.

Re: [ROM] AOKP PUB 4.2.2 [+Aroma] [Mar-04-13]
Mr. Robinson....THANK YOU for your incredible build of an already great ROM! Absolutely the smoothest version I've used of my favorite ROM. Works flawlessly with amazing speed. This is what I got from quadrant on the newest build with Trinity kernel
Antutu scores are between 16.5-16.8k. Now benchmarks don't mean everything, BUT...when the user experience corresponds with the scores, it makes those scores relevant. And this ROM FLIES!! Once again...THANKS!:beer:

Ok thanks for the heads up. There was no mention of root in the normal package, so I wasn't sure. It was only mentioned in the Aroma section. So I'm guessing the aroma version would uninstall the root, should you be so inclined.

AOKP is pre-rooted. Sometimes it takes them a few days to sync up with the latest root app, Supersu. So in the aroma if you chose to install busybox I also will install the latest Supersu and su binary. This serves to 1. ensure you have the latest or 2, if you think your root got messed up it is basically a clean install of root with proper permissions so could get you back to working root.
the Aroma will not uninstall root, it has the option to reinstall it via busybox, that's it.

Aroma is up, check the OP, post 2.
Two things to NOTE:
1. color profile of aroma is off. So don't worry about the colors in the aroma
2. I left the boot animation section there from the nexus 7 but currently it will not change your boot animation even if you pick something. I doubt they look good on the N10 and need more time to test them.

If you can't purchase gapps this is because the OP has the wrong Gapps link.
BTW, you shouldn't be flashing Gapps separatley as this alone causes a ton of issues.
For a first build, awesome...
Few things:
Had to root explore remove Music and Google+. They were unable to update.
The pull down menu doesnt say verizon (might be on purpose).
Thats it! Runs very well!
What did you use for Radio binaries when building this? the AOSP page doesn't seem to have any - http://code.google.com/android/nexus/drivers.html#toroiml74k.

I also have found that flashing Gapps causes a world of problems for my phone, including syncing issues, updating issues, purchasing issues, among others.
Can I flash just this ROM without flashing the Gapps package and still have a market place to download all my apps from?
Sorry for the seemingly noob question, but when I was flashing ROMs on my D1, I never had to deal with Gapps, mainly because I stuck with one particular ROM that did not have one.
I guess what I want to know is, if I don't flash the Gapps zip, can I still go to the market and download my apps, or better yet, restore with TiBu?

I'm fairly certain that the reason you need to flash gapps in the first place is because market is gone, however I could be wrong, my only source is that's how it was installing ICS on my Droid 3...

You are correct sir (or madam), market is missing, and try as I might to hack in the Vending.3.3.11.apk, I just can't seem to make it happen. Will nandroid restore, reflash using the Gapps package and see if I run into issues with it.
i'll be sure to try this out once i get my replacement Nexus from Asurion tomorrow. i always loved AOSP roms on my Thunderbolt.
How is this rom running?
And so the flashing begins! Just flashed the ROM with no issues and running great so far.
Hello 4.0.3
Thanks kejar!
Battery anyone?

As a rule.. never use TiBu to restore system data. It just creates un needed headaches. But user apps + data is usually fine. I've never had an issue just doing user apps + data. Never.
I'm sorry to bug you guys but could anyone possibly give me a good gapps package to work with this? I've had trouble with them before.

wow, they were there last night.
wonder what happened
Only thing I've noticed was when switching to landscape the navigation buttons are small. Can't say I mind though.
Edit: and would it be possible to get a blacked out gapps for this? Thanks.
I've been running his since yesterday and it's good. a few small bugs still, but much has been fixed since beta 1.
Can I do a dirty flash? Anyone do it yet? I would assume just wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash this then the gapps.... I'm on v1 on my phone.

Hi nexus 10 owners, welcome to SaberMod!
Sparksco built this ROM from AOSP source and added 40+ Linaro patches to the source for strict-aliasing compiler optimizations. Roms include Linaro string handling routines for memory optimizations. No android kitchens were used to make this rom at all, everything is source build
All ROMs and kernels are built with SaberMod toolchains. The ROMs are built with GCC 4.9 toolchains.
Instructions:
First time flashing this ROM on your Nexus 4, or coming from another ROM?
Root the device and install ClockworkMod or TWRP Recovery.
Place all zips on internal storage
Boot into recovery
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Perform a data factory reset/wipe (Do not format data in twrp recovery!)
Flash ROM.
Flash Gapps package (optional)
Flashing a newer version?
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Wipe cache and dalvik-cache in recovery
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps package (optional)
A few notes on battery/charging
After flashing ROM and/or kernel you may get some battery drain. Give the device time to settle into the ROM/kernel, and after a full charge or two you should notice improved battery life.

FAQ
SaberMod is a AOSP based ROM with some extra features added in and mostly from CyanogenMod. SaberMod started out pure AOSP when android 4.2.1 launched. Originally it was pure AOSP with a few extra features I ported over from CyanogeMod and linaro optimizations. Then I rebased everything off of rasbeanjelly because I liked many features found in rasbean. Since then I've modified a lot of the code so not much of it is rasbeanjelly based anymore. But you will still find some commonly used features found in rasbeanjelly. SaberMod is not a rasbeanjelly or CM clone, or KANG. Custom kernels are included for certain devices when available. These are personal builds we make for ourselves and originally became very popular in the nexus 7 forums. Features are very rarely added, and are built to SaberMod's team members liking. Currently there are two members of SaberMod working on this project. @sparksco and @jarjar124 . Please understand our time is limited and we are only two people who have lives, and do not have 25-50 members like CyanogenMod to add things. And our goal is not to add a bunch of features that bloat the system of the ROM.
Q "Does this ROM have such and such feature?
A "Did you read the first post? Most if not all features are listed in the OP. If you find a feature not listed, tell us and we will add it. Yes, sometimes we miss things."
Q "Very nice ROM, but... Can you add such and such feature?"
A "Depends on a few things, if we think it is a feature we want in the ROM and how easy it is to implement into SaberMod. If you get ignored it's because we're undecided, nothing personal."
Q "I keep asking over and over again if such and such feature can be added but my questions keep getting ignored, why?"
A "Probably because your asking a question that's already been answered, and a simple thread search can answer for you. Either that or we are undecided about it."
Q "I reported a bug but my post gets ignored, why?"
A "Either it's not a bug or you provided no information such as a logcat that has the correct information in it needed to find a possible fix or solution."
Q "I have some problems but I'm using another kernel. Can you fix?"
A "If you think it's a ROM issue state so. If your not sure post a logcat. Don't post last_kmsg for other kernels, cause we can't help"
Q "I think I'm having a problem with the kernel, and I need a fix ASAP!"
A "adb pull /proc/last_kmsg or it never happened and your post will be ignored."
Q "Can I build SaberMod from source code on Linux?"
A "Yes, it is encouraged, machine setup instructions are as follows. SaberMod builds with the latest version of Ubuntu 13.04 and java 7 or java 6 (either one)
Set up your build envirnoment: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35338419&postcount=1
Skip the part that installs java 6 if you want to install java 7 instead.
If you want to install java 7 go here: http://openjdk.java.net/install/
Code:
sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre openjdk-7-jdk
Downloading the source
Code:
mkdir -p ~/android/SaberMod && cd ~/android/SaberMod;
repo init -u https://github.com/SaberMod/android.git -b sm-jb-mr1
repo sync
bash sm-manta
Follow the script instructions for building and make your selections on how you want to build your ROM.
Q "What if I have trouble building or I'm confused on the instructions, can I post questions in this thread for help?"
A "Yes it's encouraged and discussing it might help others."
Q "There's some things in the ROMs that are not in my language, can you please translate?"
A "We can not translate currently, but if you want to help translate parts of the ROM that are only in English contact us and we will try."[/QUOTE]

Ditto. :good:
The only reason I can't use it as a daily driver is because Adobe Flash Player fails to load flash content on Hulu Free from the website. Its not the only ROM that I have that problem; EOS, another ROM I love has the same problem. Hulu flash content works on rasbean, carbon, sentinel and others though.
But all in all, very solid ROM here.

This ROM is based on CM 11.0 and made from MoKee Open Source
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP and CyanogeMod project. The source code is updated frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features at the same time.
The Mfunz Forums launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better.
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development. Newcomers are always welcomed!
Official website: http://www.mfunz.com
Types of Releases:
MoKee OpenSource has 4 kinds of releases: official release, beta, nightlies, and unofficial builds.
Official release: This version is tested throughly by developers and users, so it is the most stable build
Beta: When a device is newly added, there will be beta versions for testing, but there might be unknown bugs and problems
Nightlies: Nightlies are compiled automatically by servers, so it will have the latest features but beware of uncompleted works
Unofficial builds: These builds are compiled from source or ported by non MoKee developers
Official Releases:
MoKee Open Source supports many devices, but the developers may not have all devices in hand, so if there are device maintainers that can help out, the official releases will be decided by them, MoKee Open Source will only maintain the nightlies to ensure the usability of the ROM. However, for devices with no device maintainers, MoKee Open Source will decide when to release official builds or nightlies. Therefore, if you have a device maintainer, please get the official releases from your respective device maintainer's thread or nightlies from MoKee Open Source.
