[Q] Camera Noise, How to solve it ? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have a 3 month old DHD. my previous phone was Moto Rokr E6 which the Camera was awesome without any noise, it had just 2MP cam.
This DHD had 8MP cam & which is not equal to my Rokr. DHD photos has too much of noise, the photo looks cool in DHD, but when transferred to my PC, the photo is utter crap. Its just my camera or the DHD itself has no camera noise reduction ?
Any one have the solution to solve this camera noise ??
I tried searching the forum, I got some fixes of brightness, contrast and sharpeness. Nothing worked
All has the same noise.
Any help ??

You are right, it has some camera problem. Try to use without widescreen and clean your camera with earbuds it will make a lot of difference. There are some applications you can use for noise reduction.

May I know what are the application please ?

Try camera zoom fx.
Personally, being spoiled with dslr, no software can fix the dhd photo mess. Get over it, you bought a phone

Unfortunately, DHD Camera Sensor is average
Maybe you should try to play with this file: media_profiles.xml:

Ive always got good pictures from my dhd! I have read on many occasion that using a non sense rom affects the picture quality. Something to do with drivers I believe. Return it to stock or use arhd or similar if your not already doing so

@iamdofus
I owe you a beer.....WOW...all I can say about fotor.

Audior-Video recording,poor sound,very very bad sound...

I've got my HTC a month ago,Europe version,Grey. No issues at all hardware or software,i stil can't belive the build issues people complain to One x.Maybe i got a good build.Everything works smooth, all in all perfect 5 but!!!I love my phone!Whenever i record video or audio,no matter what quality or resolution,if there is background music, something like pop, electro something a bit bassy and rich sound, the sound is all mesed up.Its not even, its high pitched, its highs are all right, but mids and low are garbage. Its frustrating to delete video just for the sound, could there be a fix in the update,is it only my device, what can i do to fix it,or should i give it back.It is very frustrating, video quality is epic, but audio recording is crap, glitchy, cracky.Even my Desire S has better audio recording.I tought it's that crapy speakerphone, but it isn't.This doesn't change if i open it from another device like my PC.Please help me iam at my wits end with this...
Facing the same issue!
Whenever I make video recording some thing on a houseparty it seems like it tries to balance the sound somehow,.. on my computer it sounds like 8 kbit quality or somethig
yeah I got that too, just tried recording my sons band and the sound is awful
I had the same issue when I enabled stereo recording in the camera app.
The only resolution was to disable the setting.

I too have noticed the same problem, video I took at a wedding was terrible. I am wondering if it is because generally when taking a video my hand seems to cover the microphone hole at the bottom, will need to take some more videos to verify.
Same here, overly compressed and squashed sound that doesn't make sense in a few videos.
I wish there was some way to get rid of all the Beats Audio and audio output files and replace them with the galaxy or sony xperia ones, unless it is a hardware compressor in which case it is a total design failure.

I dont think its covering the mic with the hand. I took care not too, using 2 different one x's and they were both the same. I have turned off the stereo recording now and will try again next time
Also, there's an option to enhance sound when you play videos through the gallery app. This has made things sounds strange for me too.
Same issue here.. Recorded at a party But the Sound is terrible.. My iPhone loving Friends will Make fun of My One X if I post this.. any Solution yet?

i'm on stock and have now tried just about everything possible to get reasonable sound recording in a party (music and talking and glasses etc) setting and its just not possible.
It's the built in noise cancellation feature during video recording that is doing this. No way around it AFAIK.
The same problem was in the HTC sensation. Still not forgiven HTC about that as they boasted stereo sound recording. HTC desire had similar poor recording but that got sorted in an update. Here's a thing to try. What happens when you use voice recording? Is the sound still poor? Gonna try now.

If the noise cancellation microphone is causing all of this there is a way to disable the alternative mic (in this case the noise cancelling microphone) with a simple build.prop command

You would need to be rooted. Open build.prop with a file explorer or text editor then add the lines in

I used the headset that came with my phone to record. I just need to transfer to my studio setup to test results with and without headset so I know it's no placebo. Also ordered a mini mic off eBay. Had one for my iPod but can't find it should come on Friday. If it works ill be using this.

Camera Zoom Fx Taking Stills While Recording?

Hi All,
I have Camera Zoom FX on my HOX, but can't seem to find a way of taking pictures while recording HD video, like you can on the standard camera app.
Does anyone know of a way?
Cheers

Probably not possible, it would need to be built into the app to work
They probably wouldn't, as I assume it takes quite a bit of power to be recording video and still have spare resource to take a picture, I know hox does do this, but a lot of other phones simply couldn't, and it would make their app look bad if they put in a feature that didn't work on 90% of the phones out there

APP: Solution to 1080p Lag and Focus Problem

Hello Guys... Hope u enjoying your new .96 JB Firmware. ...anyway lets move to the problem which you guys may be having... but that was annoying me too much.. yes i am talking about 1080p lag and Focus problem. after new update i was still having a slight lag while recording video and the big thing which was annoying me too much was continously focussing of camera even in day light condition that was ruinning my video.... :silly: So after lots of Searching i found a solution...:good: :victory:
LG Camera App....:fingers-crossed: available in android market and you do not have to buy that app because all features of both paid and non paid versions are same except you see a free logo on icon of the app which is not bothering...
here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera&hl=en
So this app is very usefull and both the image quality and video recording performance is way better then stock camera app..... There are alot of options for image capturing and video recording.....you can change Mbits rate and sampling rate of video,,,,,you can change Focus Setting while Recording and YOU CAN ALSO TAP TO FOCUS WHILE RECORDING WHICH STOCK APP IS MISSING...A FEATURE THAT SAVED MY LIFE :good:
Settings which Worked best for me Without ANY Problem and Best Video Quality with out lag or focusing PRoblem is :
For image: All settings auto.....antishake Disabled......Delayed jpeg saving....and i get sharp images compared to Stock
For Video: 1080p Resolution....H264 Encoder......Video bit rate 20 Mbits..........Focus mode Auto
Both 1080 and 720 videos are 16:9 Ratio
i have Stock JB .96 and stock kernel installed
Unfortunatly sony didnt listen to us but nothing is impossible in android....and i found a Solution.. Hope you guys Enjoy and Try yourself.....
All credit goes to orignal App developer....
Thankz mahnnn it is wrth a try
Super like

You cannot record on 60fps, says record failed. Also, the bitrate work only on 20 on my phone.
The videos are not much better and I don't see any difference between this and original camera.
Thank you!

for me 60 fps works i personally recorded it and checked its properties in MX player and there it says it is 59.699 FPS but yea the bit rate is also 20 Mbits for me which is atleast good then the stock 16.9 Mbits Also we can tap to focus in video when we want.... this is atleast better then the stock camera which is continously trying to focus on object again and again and Ruining video........Anyhow Thanks for Trying....
Comparison or it didn't happen

[Q] need help regarding htc desire 820 video camera

Hi
I need a favour
Can anyone pls check your camera of desire 820?
My problem is when I click pictures they are all good even I zoom it.
But when I try to zoom while video recording it gets pixelated
After about 25% zooming. This should not b happening.
It may get to digital zoom to optical zoom but it should not get pixelated.
This thing I checked with other samsung and sony phones. They are ok.
Thanks in advance.

Best aftermarket Camera App

I just received an m8 from my brother... I understand the camera isn't a strength so wanted to ask which camera app works best for this phone in terms of features and quality... I don't mind paying if the app is for sale...
Your suggestions would be really appreciated
Thanks guys
IMO stock htc camera app while being on sense rom.
Manual mode(iso, exposure time, etc.), duo camera effects, slow mo and 60fps recording work, unlike on other camera apps.
