I'm torn between this and the HTC one

I got it on ebay for 599 the seller is nevr-msrp.
C6502 works properly with wind. But since unlocking the bootloader I have flashed c6503 and found it works better with wind

hey so you flashed the whole c6503 with baseband and all, if so you think if you flash c6506 you can get LTE with c6502?

Well If your feeling adventurous enough go ahead and flash c6506, it would do me no good as wind does not have lte

The LTE is hardware related and not a software compatibility issue. Otherwise they would have made one phone that works everywhere just by flashing a software version.

I don't like the fact that its locked to carriers so bootloader will be same
At the moment the SIM free version LTE C6506 is delayed til mid April from retailers like shopblt

edit: Also unbranded "international" version should get updates quicker than carrier branded another benefit

I think htc fan89 is talking about getting the non LTE C6502 from eBay... I actually cancelled my unlocked ZL order and ordered HTC One from UK releasing this week.

The z and zL have the same internals. Are the ROMs compatible?
Any issues getting a locked boot loader and unlocking it?

[Q] Unlock AT&T Xperia S

OK guys so I got a new Xperia S from a cousin that moved in from the USA. The phone is locked onto AT&T. I currently haven't got the phone (cousin is kissing it goodbye for a few days). So does the phone have a SIM in it that I should remove? Also is there any free way to unlock it so it can work with any SIM carrier? I am in the EU. Thanks guys. If there is no free way please give some cheap alternatives. Thanks again.

He is correct. AT&T never sold the Xperia S so it can't be locked to them. Any Xperia S purchased in the US is already unlocked. Now the Xperia ion is a different story.

[Q] Would an unlocked phone work in Canada?

hi
I love the look of this phone...I currently have the Sony Xperia Pro and this phone is a step up, memory and processor wise....
However I am nervous that if I buy one on ebay that maybe it will be incompatible with Rogers, just wondering if any clever OR knowledgeable soul with first hand experience would know if this will work on the Rogers network in Canada?
Any replies will be very much appreciated thank you
This phone is sold in Canada under rogers network....so I hope it would work on Rogers. Lol

What is the difference between Carrier Unlocked and Factory Unlocked?

I Have the C6506 and it is a Canadian phone that was on Bell. It was unlocked from there and now I want to use it here in the U.S. with Straight Talk (At&t) but keep running into mixed advice on different threads about what can and cannot be done with a Carrier Unlocked phone as opposed to a Factory Unlocked phone in this model. I posted another question earlier about using tether (hotspot, WiFi, USB) as an example. If I flashed the "Unbranded" firmware will it be better or would the "Generic" be just as good....pr would it be better to sell it and get a factory unlocked one....I sure can use a lot of help with this....Thanks
I would reset and reflash the phone so you can use it with any provider

There doesn't seem to be many options as far as Custom Roms for this device....is development slow for this device for a reason? Is there a Custom Rom that is real good or are the Stock Roms better for now?

This is a much better solution than the other way around as the tmo version has an unlocked bootloader
People on the forums want to do it the other way around... Whhhhhy lol. Wait a couple days and you can walk into a tmo store and get one.

It's only missing Band 5, both models have bands 4, 2, and 17, which are the primary US LTE bands anyway (outside of Verizon's Band 13 that is).
While technically the T-Mobile version is missing Band 30, the AT&T version is missing Band 30 as well.

It dropped already. Mine is on a UPS truck heading my way right now.
The T-Mobile one hasn't been rooted yet, though it apparently has an unlocked bootloader. The AT&T model has been rooted, but it appears the bootloader is locked down. Doesn't that suck?

Ya it does. the pre release t mobile phones were able to be rooted but the patched it already for the phone that are shipping now.
Unlocking the bootloader is harder then rooting for the most part. What im interested in is if the qi charging back from europe are working on the tmobile lg g3....they are not on the att g3. Can you test this!? that would be awesome

Z5 premium locked issue

Hey guys
My brother bought an x5 premium but it's locked to EE. The first time he contacted EE they said it'll take 3 weeks, it didn't happen so he's contacted them another 3 or 4 times and they've not done anything. Now they're saying that Sony haven't released the code...... That doesn't sound right to me.
Has Anyone successfully unlocked their z5 premium?
Thanks

Wrong, carphone warehouse do sell sim free network unlocked devices but they mainly only deal in network locked devices. The only UK network to supply sim free network unlocked Bootloader unlockable devices for all there handsets whether payg or contract is three UK.
Best place to look for a unlock code is amazon or eBay to be honest, costs a few quid n they send you a email with a code I think is how it works. I do know that some network's are cheaper and easier to unlock than others you could always try places like gumtree see if any local phone shops have advert. Thought the network had to supply a pac code to unlock the device to any network if there's no money owing on it in unpaid bills
