------------------------------------- UPDATE 2 -------------------------------------
hey guys this seems to be harder than I thought, but till now I manged to create a solid code to base my work on
and I'm thinking of "HOX-BOX" as a name for my baby, what do you think?
Done since Update 1
- ADDED: dynamic shell (context) menu for faster flashing .. including the choice to enable/disable it
- ADDED: an advanced detection system, far better then the simple "devices" known command, this tool will be able to detect a 100% accurate state of the device including (adb/mtp - mass storage/camera p2p - fastboot - connected with no drivers - current drivers version - the path for the mass storage)
This toke me 2 days of hard work and it's based on the detection of system Drivers/Vendor ID status, so it can't go wrong
- ADDED: advanced model detection command before flashing to prevent wrong flashes
- IMPROVED: Interface and logging
- INCLUDED: HTC Drivers 32 and 64-bit adb/fastboot
- INCLUDED: USBDeview (helps with retrieving HTC's vendor IDs and Product IDs)
- IMPROVED: data size by removing unnecessary platform tools
Still Struggling with
- Live Stats
Normal stats are OK and ready but keeping the CPU stats alive is making the software unstable, I'm still working on this
- Drag n' Drop handlers
- Flashing a ROM through PC
haven't really gave it the time yet, i'll be looking into it as soon as I stabilize other current commands.
------------------------------------- UPDATE 1 -------------------------------------
The Tool Is now under construction
I Finished the following so far
- UI main Menu
- INCLUDED: platform-tools_r16.0.1-windows
- INCLUDED: 7z.exe and 7z.dll (to flash boot.img without user interference)
- One Click Flasher for kernels and recoveries is now ready (CWM, TWRP and BOOT)
- Logging system that creates user-friendly (humand readable) logs and Advanced Log that lists command and their returns
Now Working on
- Live stats about battery and processor
- a 100% PC based flash code you just plug in your HOX, select a ROM , and the tool will transfer it to the SD, flash it in recovery, erase cache and delvik, do selected wipes and flash the boot.img
this is a tricky process but I have all the info I need , and now I'm on it
------------------------------------- OP -------------------------------------
Hey Guys
Lately I've been thinking of Creating a Tool that works with PC to make common tasks easier
I have a good experience in programming/ui/animation/batches
The Tool is basically an AIO TOOLBOX for our One X (for now)
I have some Ideas , but I need some feedback before Starting
it will be User-Friendly.. Noob proof and really well themed
WHAT I HAVE IN MIND
• basic functions
- mode detection
- get device props (CID, Mainver, Current ROM, Free Space, Model and so)
• Includes
- fastboot environment
- latest drivers
- SU flashables
- recovery Images
• Commands
- help connecting your device by installing the drivers automatically, detect the current mode (and enable/disable options based on the mode)
- help with the bootloader unlock
- flash boot.img (even if not extracted) you can just select the ROM zip and the tool will extract the boot and flash it automatically
- flash recoveries
- push (transfer) files using adb (even if stuck in recovery) without writing any code (WYSIWYG), just choose files and click push
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
(Done!) 1. should I do this? .... does it worth the time, or there is similar tools
2. if you think I should do it, should it have more features (than the mentioned above) , and please name them with details if possible
3. suggest a name for the tool
I have the ability to integrate any fastboot/adb command you can think of into the UI, with a nice animated design
but I can't do miracles such as unlocking the phone without the help of (HTCdev) or S-OFF your device, so please don't request such things

Re: I need your thoughts - The Ultimate HOX ToolBox
1. Definitely you should do it! (although there is toolkit which can unlock bootloader and flash a recovery already) More advanced features would be welcome!
2. A few things:
Maybe fetch a RUU automatically based on main version from
BugsyLawson's server
or
ruu.androidfiles.org and automatically install it.
A tool that fetches a firmware zip based on cid and flashes it.
Adb shell
Boot repacker
3. NoobKit-9000

- Communicating with servers and downloading is a tricky thing, they would have to work with me for this
if I get enough help from them , I Would deferentially do it.
but at the very least I will include a guide that will tell you the exact name of the RUU/Firmware that needs to be downloaded (maybe even search for it)
- adb shell .... Will Do :good:
- boot Repacker ... I have to do some more reading about this, but I think I can do it :good:

Re: I need your thoughts - The Ultimate HOX ToolBox
Like the idea of a nice clean tool.
I haven't felt the need to root or flash yet, but as there is no s-off yet the process seems slightly more involved than it was for my old Desire, so it is a bit off putting. If there are tools that can help - will use them.
I know that sounds noobish - and it is

OOPS!

-"Live stats" would be great, showing instant info about cpu cores in use and freq, battery % and mA flow, ram usage, live logcat + kmesg, gpu freq...
-A good file explorer that allows to edit files "on the fly"
What do you think? want more ideas?

Re: I need your thoughts - The Ultimate HOX ToolBox
Great idea, I initially used a toolkit when first flashing mine but it's nice to know what your actually doing to your phone and I have since learnt all the commands. So my request is to somehow show the user what your automating so they understand what's going on with their phone. Maybe like a log/command type window that can be shown or hidden for those that want to see what's happening.
Cheers

Yes agree with herbie u wanted to use a toolkit but would have also benefitted from knowing the commands as something went wrong during the flash with the tool kit

Remeber guys...this is just a base to get the T-Mobile US crowd up and running. I am working on a BlueTopia NAND and will post it shortly...but before I get knee deep into Topiaizing it I want to find a stable base.
The most important feedback I am looking for is related to data drops. I am doing something differnt in this build that I have not done in any of my others. It's not really anything top secret but don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet cause some people may form a bias opinion.
Happy Flashing...and Merry New Year!

Updated: It's up and running.... Data Wifi and 3G seem to be working fine. Market download is fast. Before installing any application, original storage is 650MB available Will spend more time to test it. First impression: very smooth.
Downloading and will report back. For future ROM, would you consider leaving the TMobile stuff out (my account and visual voicemail)? we can always download those from the market. Thanks

Does this build have HTC locations and HTC news ?

How to use USB Video Out:
As it seems to be a little "difficult" to use the usb video out package, here's what you have to do (this is a copy out of the readme file of the package):
You can download the needed files here:
USB-Video-Out.rar
Mirror @4shared
Enabling USB video out on the phone (ON THE PHONE)
- From Start Menu swipe over to the application list and run "USB Video Out"
- Answer Yes to enable USB Video out. This is a toggle.
- When the phone boots up it is in Zune Mode which enables it to sync data with Zune Client software on the PC. You will need to toggle this to Video mode using the above steps to get video out.
- Note: Toggling between Zune mode and Video mode requires the phone to reboot each time.
Setting up driver on the desktop (one time)
- Make sure Zune is not running.
- Your Phone must be flashed with a ROM that has video out bits on it, they must be enabled, and the phone must be on and plugged into your PC to continue. When the phone boots up the default setting is OFF for the video output.
- Start -> Right click on Computer, select Manage
- In "Computer Management" click on the Device Manager
- Under "Other Devices"
- Within the list of drivers Right Click on WM7VIDSTREAM driver, select "Update Driver Software..."
- Choose Browse and point Windows to appropriate driver folder.
- Approve the Unsigned Driver installation.
Starting application
- Launch VidStream.exe.
- This application does support disconnect & reconnecting of the phone's USB cable.
- If a previous instance of VidStream.exe was running with the device connected, you will need to simply unplug and replug the phone's USB cable.
- Press ESC to exit the PC Client application.
Re-enabling MTPz USB sync (Zune Mode)
- Open "USB Video Out"
- Answer Yes to enable MTPz
- The device will reboot to make the changes effective.

Update to 8860 and 8862 successful
Hi there,
just a quick information:
I successfully updated to the Microsoft OS Updates 8860 and 8862 via Zune.
Unlock is still ok, also the qualcomm bootloader was not overwritten :good:
The only thing it "killed" so far, is the information of my Custom Rom in settings --> about.
It changed firmware revision number from "FunkyROM v1.0 - xda-developers" back to "2175.2907.8858.13030"
cheers
Will this work with AT&T Nokia Lumia 900?
Hi lordmaxey,
Last week I downloaded this rom 2175.2907.8858.13030 from navifirm then flashed it using the NCS. No problem when flashing it. But my concern is the battery drain. So I decided to go back to 2175.2905.8858.12480 (variant finland). Actually im not sure if my qualcom is unlock. My question is can I use this rom same process to flash it by using NCS? thanks

no, you need to have an unlocked bootloader, to flash this rom. You can not flash it using NCS.
However Nokia want to sell her phones or atf boxes? ) Why write that stupid nokia bootloader? I read forums and see peoples buying Atf box for flashing phones.

USB Tether
Guys, apologies if this has been covered before. I'd love to share the internet connection via usb to avoid battery drain with wifi sharing. Do any of the custom ROMs allow/enable this? Seems to have been made possible with some of the Samsung Windows Phones but I find the network performance to be phenomenal on the 900 - even better than the 920 I own (looks like this is nowhere near possible on the newer 920). Was hoping the issue had been cracked on the older hardware/software!
@lordmaxey this ROM is amazing :victory: Thank you very much!
there is posible one problem: IE often crashs (I mean that IE automatically exits ) when I watch some websites that contains lots of pictures It does not happen in the original ROM.
But I'm uploading your ROM again and hard reset my phone. Perhaps the problem will disapear

About the tool
You are an Android developer?
You remove the same certain apps and files each time you re-base your ROM on a newer version?
Or when you release a new update for your ROM?
This tool will certainly help you.
It is a simple Windows tool that will help you in removing and deleting unwanted apps and cleaning the ROM from useless stuff.
It will do all the work automatically in only one second!
This tool is primarily built for Sense 5.
It should also work on previous versions of Sense and it should even work on any other Android ROM, but first you must make sure that the directories of apps in resource folder inside the tool's main folder are compatible with the same apps of your ROM.
If you are a normal user and want to clean your ROM, the best choice for you is Aroma ROM Cleaner by @Patrics83.
How the tool works
This is a very simple tool, all you need to do is to extract your ROM.zip then enter the directory of the root folder of your ROM (system folder) then check the apps you want to remove then press Delete button, finally zip your ROM again.
Deleting custom apps & files
This tool offers a good feature that allows you to remove any app or file that is not found in the list, to set up your custom apps just go to resource\custom inside the tool's main folder and open one of the sixteen text files and add the directory of your unwanted app.
Example:
I want to remove Face Unlock which is not supported by the tool, all I need to do is to open resource\custom\custom1.txt and add these lines:
Code:
\app\FaceLock.apk
\lib\libfacelock_jni.so
\vendor\pittpatt
Make sure that:
Lines must begin with Backslash '\'.
You must not forget to write the extension of the file.
Apps or folders must be separated only by New-line.
The tool offers sixteen custom apps, but if you need more you can combine more than one app in each custom text file, as it can handle unlimited number of lines.

One of the reasons of making this tool is to return you a favor for all your great works.
Because you sometimes forget to remove some lib files from your ROM.
In ARHD 31.x you forget to remove (libchromeview.so - libgoggles_clientvision.so - libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so) and some other files.
So I hope that this tool will help you.
Hello. What is the difference between this and ROM Cleaner, besides that you run this tool on your pc before copying the rom to SD card and that you flash the ROM Cleaner after the rom?

You are right. :good:
ROM Cleaner is an Aroma script that will remove apps after installing the ROM.
But my tool is a Windows program for developer or for anyone who want to remove apps before installing the ROM.
Great and useful Tools ,thanks man :good:

It's really useful tool, I have to download it and use it, by the way Bro Dev @omar_bazaraa may I use it for other handheld such as Xperia? (sorry for my stupid question if you think).

The root folder is just the ROM's main folder.
So extract your ROM.zip and browse to system folder.

Root is not a name of a folder. You can't find a folder called "root"
Just browse to system folder.

Windows x86|x64 - Linux x64 - MAC x64All released versions can be found here.

(The latest versions are always on the bottom.)[ROOT] Use SuperSU 2.62 or higher from here systemless for 6.0.1 and above.
 Known bugs/limitations:
- For partition Flashing, it is recommended(mandatory?) to do a reboot-bootloader if you want to flash multiple partitions one after the other. (according to the Google flashing scripts) (Implemented in 1.2.1)- For the return to stock, the tool will be stuck after your phone successfully boots, you need to reboot to fastboot again in order to flash the Radio and finish the full return to stock. (Fixed in 1.2.0)
 Changelog:
Check the changelog for each release here. Tutorials/FAQ:
Q: How do I get in bootloader/fastboot mode?Turn off the phone and turn it on by using Volume down + Power key.Q: How do I check for updates on your tool?Follow the instructions on the screen below.
Q: Where can I find the device driver to install it for windows?Click here, download the driver, and run the setup.Q: How do I root my stock phone?- Unlock bootloader.- Flash recovery.- Use SuperSU 2.62 systemless or higher from here.(Usually the latest version upon tool release is included in the Sideload folder of the tool, you can either sideload it or copy it to recovery and flash it manually)Q: I get an error "Cannot open file" on MAC, what should I do?Open the terminal, go to your application path and paste this command:
Code:
chmod +x LxMultiTool.app/contents/macos/*
Q: What do I need to do in order to be in Fastboot or in ADB mode.Fastboot mode will be detected only while being in bootloader.ADB mode will be detected from Recovery (custom) and actual ROM with USB debugging active.Refresh button needs to be used in order to check for what mode you are in.Q: Are there any other software that I need to install in order to run this tool?On Windows and MAC everything is bundled, so nothing needs to be installed, just run.On Linux you need to install from your package manager libQt5Core, libQt5Widgets, libQt5Gui, libQt5Network.If it's not enough, use ldd LxMultiTool in the terminal to find out what you're missing from your environment.Q: I have a yellow/orange/red text screen during boot, what's that? When you unlock you usually get the Orange screen and it's normal, but if you really want to know what's this about, give a reading to this.Q: Hey, my device is not detected, why?On windows, you need to manually install the USB drivers, they are not included and probably they won't be included in this tool. Also, make sure you click the connection Refresh button after connecting the device to your PC.Q: What do I need to do in order to install a custom ROM?1. Unlock Bootloader.2. Flash a custom recovery of your choice.3. Flash an insecure kernel (boot).4. Flash custom ROM with no problems via recovery. All those things are found and can be done via this tool.Q: Hi, I just downloaded this tool, how do i use it?First, extract the folder somewhere. After that, run LxMultiTool.exe on windows by double-clicking it, LxMultiTool on Linux, and the same on mac.Q: Do I need android-sdk installed or something else? No! This tool uses its own supplied binaries for adb and fastboot, if you have android-sdk installed it will be ignored anyway. This tool is fully portable and stand-alone.Q: I get an error while trying to unlock the bootloader -> FAILED(remote: oem unlock is not allowed), what now?Starting with Android 5.0, you need to enable Bootloader Unlocking from the developer settings, in order to do that, follow these steps:- Enable Developer options- Enable USB Debugging- Look for the ‘OEM Unlock’ Option and toggle it.Q: How do I use the return to stock feature?First, download the latest package from here, then extract the contents (there is an archive in the archive) until you get to a folder like angler-mda89dthat contains the images, that folder needs to be copied in the /Data/StockPackages folder in order to be visible.Easier steps -> Get your device in bootloader -> Start the tool -> Hit refresh -> go to Stock -> hit open folder -> copy the extracted folder with the name angler-xxxxxx in there, hit F5 or Right-click + Refresh -> you should see the folder in there like in the following screenshot. Thanks @ursa08 for the screenie.
Q: How do I enable Developer options?- Launch the Settings- Scroll Down and Tap on About Phone(or About Device)- Locate the Build Number Section- Tap on the Build Number Option 7 Times- Go Back to the Main Settings Page- Scroll Down and Tap on Developer OptionsQ: Hi, I just bought a phone what should I do now?Well, you firstly need to unlock your bootloader...Q: What is logcat?Well, you can pretty much use google for that answer, but to put it short, is that thingy that tells you what is happening behind the scenes of your phone. It is usually used for debugging and entertainment(?).When you report an error/bug to somebody, it will be a blessing to provide a logcat (log file)!Q: What is a Custom Recovery and why do I need one?A custom recovery is that thingy that lets you flash .zip files, use your logic, and you will get it why you need one.Q: There are other guides/tutorials out there. Should I check them instead of this?If you manage to get things done using this one, no, otherwise yes, note that some could be outdated...Q: What is sideload and how do I use it?Sideload is a function from adb that let's you flash a zip file while in recovery directly from your PC.Please note that you need to be in sideload mode on your recovery before doing this.To enter sideload mode, in TWRP go to Advanced -> ADB Sideload -> Swipe to sideload

Got the 128gb monster on the way myself.
Thanks for this. Making it easy for everyone is a great thing I'm so excited to get back on a nexus
Thanks for this tool, I need to start from scratch because I don't have a Nexus since Nexus One
Thanks for this. Will be a first time user for the nexus generation. Just ordered the 6P so will definitely be doing this .
Great seeing this already. Coming from an S4 to the 64GB 6P. Will it be possible to relock the bootloader after installing a custom recovery or is the stock recovery required for the lock?

AFAIK, locking bootloader has nothing to do with the recovery, but then again, I never locked a bootloader...
Pretty sure you'd need to flash stock recovery. It won't hurt anything to try it without stock recovery, but if it doesn't work then you'll know for sure why.
I'm not planning to mess around with it too much until a stock system file is available. I need a Plan B. Lol
Doesn't run for me. (Mac User)
Heres the terminal error
sh [Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/6PMultiToolv0.2-M.sh
[Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/6PMultiToolv0.2-M.sh: line 3: [Path to location]/6PMultiTool.v0.2/simple_curses.sh: No such file or directory
There doesn't seem to be a "simple_curses.sh" file in the tool directory that I can find. Hope you can get it figured out! Thanks for the awesome tool as well!

Unfortunately I never got the chance to test the MAC version, finally I have a tester
From what I can see at a first look is that this simple_curses.sh is some leftover from when I experimented with some UI tricks for bash to try to simulate the looks of the batch version..

This is the support thread of PixelFlasher
(PixelFlasher is an open-source self contained GUI tool to facilitate Pixel phone device flashing/rooting/updating with extra features).
Note: This thread is meant for issues and problems faced in Google Pixel 6 Pro devices, generic issues that are device agnostic should be discussed in the main thread.
For full details on where to download / usage and feature set of the tool, visit the main thread at XDA or the project's Github page.

this is an interesting project.
can you add a way to flash all partition/boot slots easily for new users? I think that can resolve a ton of issues. (the flash tool doesn't do this, just reinstalls some of the images like bootloader and raidio).

Flawless one click update. Thanks. This going to be my default update tool.
Just used it to flash April update on my 6 Pro. Worked like a charm. Thanks.
Also used this to get to April from February and it was one of the simplest things I've ever had to do. Excellent work on this.
It keeps saying magisk is not on my phone, but it is, and it's not hidden.
According to the logs it thinks my phone is not rooted, but it is.
Edit: Followed the instructions and it updated perfectly though, just weird it thinks my phone is not rooted. Awesome app my friend, will be using this as long as it works!

New Release:
April 06, 2022 v2.1.0 release
Setup dedicated profile directory.
Put logs in the profile directory and maintain log history.
Plumbing for Linux support (just the flashing part is left to do).
Plumbing for new workflow.
Bugfix to handle name conflict in ROM filename.
Various minor improvements.
Update documentation.
Forgot to mention this but I was running this last night and did a dry run before the real thing, it progressed but my cable was apparently faulty so it lost connection mid way (good thing I did dry run and thank you for having it). Anyway, when it lost connection it caused the app to lock up. I closed it in task manager but the files were stuck in use and I had to find and kill the processes still open to free them up before I could start again.
Suggestion: add a check for and close of any existing processes related to the pixel flasher program if it gets reopened to avoid things being stuck in use. I work in IT so I was fine poking around to kill those processes but not everyone will be.
If you can't, maybe just add the list of processes to the OP so people can kill them on their own.

The reason that happened is because PixelFlasher is running flash-all equivalent script, which has fastboot commands in it, most fastboot commands (aside from informational ones) are blocking, i.e. it waits for device.
Because your cable was faulty and your device was not appearing connected, it got blocked waiting for it.
It's a good idea to display a message and the PID of the spawned process, the user can kill it if they wish.
I really don't want to intervene with that spawned process as it is the one flashing your phone, any glitch in there and it could mess up the phone.

That's a good idea as well, better to not force a closure of the process and instead inform then give the user the information necessary to close it themselves. It was definitely the fastboot process that was holding the files. Once I killed that it was fine for me to proceed. Providing a pop up with the PID or even just the process name (unless the PID is always the same) and instructions in that pop up would certainly help someone get out of a jam without needing to reboot the computer.
I've done some stuff like this project with batch but this blows that completely out of the water. Excellent work, you should be proud of what you've given to the community.
can I also root my Pixel with that?
