My blog post on designing your app - Design, Prototyping, UI, Graphics

I Thought it might be nice to share my blog post on the design stage of developing an app.
It's part of my blog series Creating your own Android app: From vision to reality.

I Hope it's useful to some of you.

Your welcome.
I Also did a new post this week on design basics, I have written the article specially for developers that want to know a bit more about the basics of typefaces.
http://martin.cubeactive.com/design-basics-typefaces/

My latest blog post is all about measurements. PX, PPI, DPI, EM's, REM's and a special section for Android developers that covers DIP and SP

Good

Thanks!
the market is full of poorly designed applications, and as an user a bad design is the main reason to uninstall an application.

I agree. Alot of the criticism that Android receives from Apple fans is due to the ugly apps that developers make.

Nice!

Looking for a graphic designer!

Looking for help to design wallapapers and boot animations for a rom called "SparksMod" for the G2. If you are interested and want to be on our team, please PM me with your interest.

I'm not a graphic designer, but I'm curious, what is going to be special about your rom? Is it just going to be another CM 6 knockoff with a few added APKs and some modded icons? Not that I don't appreciate your effort... I'm just sick of people calling them ROMs when the more appropriate term would be a MOD.

That's A LOT of helpful information pointing him to different graphic designers. Good job!
I would recommend talking to some of the people over at the theme's section here (or from other sections like nexus, evo, etc) and see if they can do some work for you or if they know someone who can.
Since, you know, you need GRAPHIC DESIGNERS, not someone to help you NAME YOUR WORK.

LOL that'd exactly the way I was thinking...
The very least they could do is give credit where credit is due. "ThNx eVry1" doesn't cut it.

The 90's wants its Bulletin Board design back

These Colors.....
simple, smooth, easy on the eyes
I use to not be a fan, but it has grown on me over the years.
Very Nice
Not much of a valuable subject for a thread but since it's here, this is easy on the eyes, very smooth, and does not seek to put it's design above the content. Sorry to disagree, but this forum needs no changes to improve it's information delivery. Maybe others do, this one doesn't. It's easy to ready and find what I want, what more could you ask for?

[Q] Paid Software Announcement and Discussion

Hi!
I have developed an free app. And of course I want to tell the world about it. I used the "Paid Software Announcement and Discussion", but I didn't read one of the "Read this" messages about it only being for those that have contributed and been on this forum for a while. So it got (rightly) deleted. However, I wounder where I as i "noob" can post this sort of things?
Thanks for your time.
You can post it in the Android Apps and Games forum
Thanks, I posted it there

XDA 2013 Theme

I Started This Thread To Talk About The New Theme
So What Can You Say About The 2013 Theme??
For me, the 2013 Theme is Professional Looking, but lacks the ambiance and feel of the Spirit of XDA...
I Am Still Adjusting, but 2013 Theme is much more simple, and surely will benefit everyone, especially people with not so strong internet connection..So Whats your insight?:highfive:
nice.. it look much more better than 2010.. and it look much more professional..
New theme look great............more pro..

yes, it will take some time to get used to because 2013 theme is leaned more on the left
The 2013 theme is great but the 2010 one is like a classic, easy and simple....d 2013 one is a bit complex....
Sent from heaven!
it is the coolest theme xda had ever made but when talking about browsing in uc browser, ibibo browser 2010 theme is much more suitable and understandable than 2013 theme
1 thing I don't like is the country flag, and carrier image is hidden in more info, it should be open like in 2010 theme
Please press "THANKS" ahahahah

there is an option to hide sidebar to ease the complexity and the leaning of objects to the left:good:

no problem here bro, for me its responsive compared to 2010, but needs a lot of getting used to:highfive:
I find that 2013 works faster than 2010 for me...
I like the look of it too, there's just something about the overall theme that I find much better than the previous ones. I've had no problems using it.

Its clean but takes more time to load since it loads posts from xda portal. I normally visit them when not on xda. So for me 2010 is better

Yes, the Recognized Contributor blog! Somewhat similar to the XDA portal, but notreally. It's not an attempt to take over the portal (which would never happen) but more of a place for Recognized Contributors to share their findings and such things like that.
