I just got my "Steel Blue" Commuter in the mail today and I'm a little disappointed with the color. It's not even close to what they show online. It's like a baby blue color with a slight yellowish hue.
Might experiment with a can of Krylon (spray paint) and post the results

Well, finish is really nice. Feels rugged and not flimsy at all. In terms of fit.....I can't tall you. I need the freakin phone to put in it first. Friday can't get here soon enough, lol.
It was mentioned in another thread about a different case (Poetic Atmosphere) that the power button it covered. If this is the case the IR blaster feature won't work. What's the deal with the Commuter and Defender?

Not sure about the defender, but on the Commuter, the power button is not covered so the IR will work fine.

I am using the Taurus Version, and Yellow. Love it.
The contour of the case and and design, fits like a GLOVE!!

Do these things actually protect well? I feel like the impact would be transferred to the device more so than a TPU/silicone case. Sure they look nice, but I don't feel like they are practical.

When I got it, it was installed by a friend of mine, the in between the case and phone, have a silicone cushion build on the case. The phone do budge or move at all.
I guess the silicone cushion is made for shock absorption.
The Taurus looks nice but damn if they make that sweet one in Gunmetal gray I'm getting it!

They do have the Gun Metal color!! But its Not Cheap tho, Ships from Korea, the Only Retailer.

Something like Taurus isnt a full case but a bumper.
The battery cover isnt covered by metal, so it wont heat at all.

yup made from aluminum. it will break easy if dropped, but it protect the cellphone

kinda like that But you shouldnt drop your phone anyway. Its better to break a 20-30$ bumper than a 600$ phone
I have a taurus one at the moment, if I drop it and it break, ill just go with a walnut one. Im using it because it fit with the 3200-3500mA battery. If I could get an otterbox for extended battery I would, but they wont make one

I've never delved in to the dark world of skins. Do they get nasty over time? Leave a sticky residue on the phone if/when you remove them? Will they "wow" the ladies?

buddy of mine has a wood skin and his phone does great with the ladies. not sure about him though, hes pretty suave but also single....at least hes got a wood skin. his is nice--not nasty (its been a week or two). he loves it. i like it too.

I actually saw this yesterday or the day before and that's where this all started. I think, in my head, the concept of a wood phone seems ridiculous, but I love the look.

It certainly is a more sustainable option vs. plastic or aluminum IF it offers the same function and performance. But in the meantime, we have cases that look like wood

1. No they dont get nasty. I have one on my galaxy tab 10.1 and it still looks good to me. If they do look nasty to you then you can probably just wipe it down with a damp paper towel or whatever and it should look as good as new.
2. No sticky residue either, it is much like peeling off a screen protector, if you do find some residue left over just a quick wipe and it would come off.
3. Depends on what kind of wood they are looking for...

The grip is good, the bumps help a lot with it! It's not as grippy as a tpu case though. It's not slippy, but you can tell it's plastic!

I've had mixed experiences with obostore, sometimes it comes in a week or two, sometimes over a month, I'd just sit tight and if it hasn't come within two months send them an email asking what's up!

yepp i just finished it yesterday..i got the cruzerlite on its way so we ll see how it goes..but i can tell you this about this case
the silicone is thick and good quality (wish it was tpu tho)
fits good
the little charm is removable which is good
color is cool but wish it was black
U can see the rest on the video lol.
Im interested in the incipio feather after reading many reviews. I'm fairly set on it unless anyone has a better alternative. I have 2 tpu cases that I don't use anymore and would like to step up.
Also, I'm tossed on the color to get. I'm leaning towards the blue cause I like the look of the Lumia 900, but I don't know if its too much. I would consider another brand if it is recommend tho?

I'd suggest getting the light grey feather then do minor sanding then paint/seal it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I really don't want to mess with it, kor do I have the time. Just seems odd they wouldn't make a white version.

from what Ive read the pictures from incipio are a little misleading. one review i saw commented that there actually way more protection on the corner

I saw that one as well. I don't know why these suppliers dont make white. I know case mate does, but those are terribly made

true, my white sline got pretty dirty, but it depends on the material used. That was a very easily stained rubber. a feather case with an overcoat like they make for iphone would more than suffice for the average user
