Hi guys,
as you asked so often if i can make the tf700t kernel also for tf300t users, ill try to merge all oc settings done now for the working tf700t also for the tf300t, including the kind of limiting the frequencies as it is possible with the tf700t version of my kernel right now (via app and terminal)
we have to manage following steps and i need the help of the community. i dont own a tf300t device, so i need testers who can test my new testkernels on a tf300t devices.
following steps have to be done:
- the first step is to get the kernel working on a tf300t device without oc [DONE]
- next step will be to overclock the tf300t device staticly [DONE]
- the last step will be to offer a runtime limiting of the cpu and gpu frequencies as it is possible with the tf700t kernel right now. the difficulty is to differ between the different devices in the kernel code (it is a kernel for 2 different devices, yes both are tegra3, but not the same hardware) [DONE as based of tf300t kernel sources]
HEY, we made some good progress until now
what you will have at the end?
a (i hope so ^^) working tf300t kernel where you can choose during runtime which oc'ed frequencies you want to run on your cpu and gpu. [DONE]
Need help - Still something unclear?: THX lucius.zen

My App to Limit CPU and GPU Frequencies:
v1.5
- fixed double warning if no hundsbuah kernel is used
- added feature to store cpu settings to asus power modes
- added feature to store gpu settings to asus power modes
- fixed app force close when trying to save to an asus powermode (please report if its really gone )
- have fun
http://www.mediafire.com/download/18adjqe710y394c/HundsbuahsKernelTweaksv1.5.apk
v1.61beta
- autoload on page load
- removed asus keyword from buttons and labels to fix display issue on smaller screens
http://www.multiupload.nl/XPIIIIVG38
Testkernel (20130521)v11 - TF300T BASE:(Please activate init.d support with pimp my rom app)
- little bit higher voltages for all cpu revisions and 1600mhz+ (try if its better now)
http://www.mediafire.com/?5mr686tby6zxsi8
Data2SD Patch for v7 and newer!:
Just flash it in twrp after you have flashed the kernel. thats all. your sdcard needs a 2nd partition with ext2 or ext4 with (windows: active, linux: boot) flag set

Hi mate, this kernel boots just fine but it's having the same display issue as the first kernel for the tf700t (remember?heavy screen tearing and flickering when touching the screen).Otherwise wi-fi seems to work and the OS loads just fine. Here's a logcat, maybe it will be useful:
Edit:Here's a second logcat

ok maybe its caused by the mixture of the tf700t and tf300t ramdisk, im currently uploading a kernel with an original tf300t asus ramdisk.
hope that helps ill post the new testkernel as v2 in the op.
thx so for for testing!! :good:

Btw we desperately needed a dev for kernels for the 300 , especially because there is none for 4.2. Oh btw your kernel, modded by sbdags 1.3-1.8 on 4.1 was my favorite by far

I actually run one of your older kernels on my TF300. Its the V1.4.4 for your TF700 and I have never had a problem with it. The front camera works. The OC works to 1.8GHZ and it gets me the best benchmarks I've ever gotten on this guy. I've tried newer versions of your TF700 kernel and they all seem to work too, except for the OC.

Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
No these changes are basically bools and switches no density or market tricks here just battery life. Faster and quicker flinging. Constant 60fps
Allowing pad to deep sleep and like fifteen others. Like I said download it and open it. Everything past 60 fps in the code should work on any android device running ics... and some are tegra specific do not use this on tf201. Simply copy build.prop lines line for line and add them in manually or upload ,me yours and I'll make proper adjustments....
. these do work and make a difference . Let it cache. I have been playing with these values for months
This isn't my first rodeo guys. Check my skyrocket thread I do this daily and have been for years

Does this Alpha ROM include your OC/UV kernel b/c I'm not seeing the 99ocvoltcontrol or 99GPUoverclock files. As well, the init.qcom.post_boot.sh doesn't have the options to set governer and OC. Is that something you're waiting to release due to on going issues?

my experience so far
I flashed it last night and used pimpmyrom to tweak a few settings (no change on dalvik and multitasking). 1728 seems unstable to me. But I read that this ROM has no uv so I might give that a try.
What values should I decrease for uv?

I used X0dus' numbers from his FT undervolt guide in the general section and I'm running stable at 1728. I don't have PmR or anything else running on it at the moment. This ROM does, in fact, have uv; as HO!NO! said, use System Tuner to set the values.
rom run very smooth with the new kernel, but the taskkiller is too aggressive , keep killing the browser , battery drain is better but still not sleeping well Thank you!please keep it up!

[KERNEL] Nibbles Kernel v0.1.5 *OC & OC/STOCK GPU* (1/7/13)

Nibbles Kernel Is Here!
Thanks to Krazeecracker for letting me take over!
Thanks to Android88 for helping me test my builds into the wee hours of the night
THIS WILL WIPE CURRENT INIT.D SCRIPTS. MAKE SURE YOU BACK THEM UP!
I did not create this Kernel, I just maintain and add features to it. Give total credit to CVD as this is his creation and body of work. He made this possible. ALSO BIG SHOUTS OUT TO THOMAS.RAINES FOR THE BASE KERNEL LZ KERNEL
Features: The Nibbles kernel includes a LOT of new features that cater to all users who want to get the most out of their device. I've included many popular CPU Governors and I/O schedulers to support a wide variety of uses. Additionally, I've made lots of other fundamental changes to the kernel to better balance battery and performance (well beyond what you can do with a handful of scripts) as well as implementing over clocking the CPU to 1.782GHz, Under/Over Volting the CPU at each frequency step and over clocking the GPU.
CPU Governors: intellidemand, pegasusq, gallimaurfy, interactivex, smartassv2, wheatley, interactive, conservative, userspace, ondemand, performance
I/O Schedulers: noop, deadline, cfq, sio, vr, bfq
***DOWNLOAD Nibbles Kernel v0.1.5 HERE!***

So does this mean the stock gpu version have better battery life and the OC'd gpu version is better for gaming?
Also, new governors.... so much testing to do

Yes lol. CvD over in the skyrocket forums took this and tweaked it for everyone's taste. I tweaked it for our Hercules

Smoocha kernel -- AOSP 4.2.2

Here is a kernel Houstonn and I have been working on. It's based on Faux123 kernel for nexus 4, however, it has evolved into a "buffet" kernel. I keep choosing what i believe is the better interface / way of doing things in a choice of various way or what could give us better battery / performance. I'm trying to maintain a certain balance.
This version is for geehrc (Sprint/Internationnal) with the 13mp. If you have the 8mp phone (E973/E971/E970), use that thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229742
I won't link to Faux123 kernel in the nexus 4 for the simple reason that 99% of the people don't read and on these 99% of people, a few will end up flashing nexus 4 kernel which mostly flash by partition number and not by partition name thus hard bricking their device.
Reason to at least try it :
CPU voltage table
Intellidemand and Wheatley governor added
All the block I/O scheduler
TCP Westwood algorithm
Faux123 sounds interface
Faux123 gamma interface (color control)
Newest Prima (wifi) driver.
In-kernel thermal watching
Msm_mpdecision (In-kernel OpenSource MPDecision)
Thanks :
Houstonn
Faux123
Show-P1984
FranciscoFranco
Shelnutt2
XpLoDWilD
Thracky
Synergye
Exit_only
All the downloads will be here :
Use the geehrc version.

My source are there :

Reserved post. Also please post comment / bugs in that thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246152
There is 10000 variants for that phone and I want to offer that kernel to everyone, however, i can't maintain 10000 threads. I will follow only 1 thread for the geehrc which is the one i previously linked and one for the geeb.
Cool. Now I just need to sack up and flash an AOSP ROM. :/

Rotation problem as in the YouTube issue? Because I still need to disable hardware overlays for landscape mode to play properly on the newest build.

[KERNEL][Code-Craft][PatchWork] 4.3 [AOSP][3.4.58]-03 XZ Linaro 4.7.4

Hey all, I decided to go to the darkside and move away from stock.
This kernel is a fork from chadouming and Team Placeholder. with that being said, thank you to both.
This has only been tested Android 4.3, I do not believe it will work on 4.2.

Super excited to see you make a kernel for aosp. Will be my go-to. I would like to request frandom support in the kernel. Smoocha kernel had frandom support and I believe it really did help performance. I first read about frandom from the Crossbreader thread in the general android section. Here's the paragraph:
"5. Frandom support (Optional) - CrossBreeder now supports linking both your random devices to the extremely fast alternative - Frandom ( http://billauer.co.il/frandom.html ). This module is orders of magnitude (10-50 times) faster than the standard character devices ( Check this out - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=134 ). The erandom character device also installed by Frandom doesn't use up system entropy at all on top of being fast. You will need to ask your ROM developer to develop the kernel module for you and then place it in /system/lib/modules. CrossBreeder will then try and load it and if successful, make all the necessary adjustments so that both /dev/random and /dev/urandom are pointing to /dev/frandom and /dev/erandom respectively. The speed benefits are to be seen to be believed. But since each ROM requires a unique kernel module, this option is left optional ( but auto detect ). Advanced users can even try and load the frandom module built for other kernels if they don't have one readily available for their own kernel version using the Punchmod utility. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5#post41920265"
Thanks for your time reading

Hey man, tried flashing this on top of shelnut's CM 10.2 after wiping dalvik and cache and got stuck at a weird LG boot screen, then the screen and capacitive buttons turned on but it was just a blank black screen. I'm really looking forward to trying this though.

I'm going to have to make one from cm sources. This one won't work on cm 10.2 and there kernel Wont work on a pure source 4.3 .... I don't really k ow what's going on with cm .I know they like to have their kernels built with their ROMs. I'm thinking that I will start on a cm kernel tonight after work. This source that I'm using is a caf 2.5 kernel. You all that are using cm will have a kernel tonight

Thank you, sir! Much appreciated!
Ty ... I do know the big problem is our cm is mostly mako with a few tweaks to work on our phone... If we can ever get one the built from source not one put together by bits and pieces that would solve a lot of problems... But please don't get me wrong I do appreciate all the work that is and has been done to even get ports working for us...

This kernel isn't based on Mako. It is based on the Qualcomm-made Snapdragon-optimized sources at CodeAurora (their repositories for sharing code with partners and us). That is the same source that manufacturers (such as LG) base their kernels on (even Google does as well, but theirs is not up-to-date and is missing some optimizations).

Sorry about that. LG has a strange initlogo implementation which I haven't quite figured out yet. It only shows for a second so it's not too bad though. If I disable or delete the initlogo, it seems to boot up slower, so that's why it's there.

No need to apologize. I understand that things are a work in progress and that bugs need to be worked out. I'm just happy to be running 4.3 lol.
However, I will say that once the weird LG screen went away, my phone would not boot. It would just go to a blank, black screen. The screen was on, and the capacitive buttons were lit up but the screen was just blank.
So if you got it to actually boot up then you got farther than I did!

its not a problem anymore at all. Shelnutt completely rebased cm10.2 on the rom from e975, so we don't have a mako based rom anymore, its lgog based, which is why camera isn't an issue as much anymore
Thanks for this kernel . what other things do u plan on adding into the kernel?
