Post your (T-Mo GS4) software pet peeves - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

We all have them - and it will help ROM devs to know what "the people" want to be changed.
Mine include the clutter in the notification bar, particularly the WiFi Calling item, and the "suggested activities" on plugging in headphones. I'll let you guess which I've already removed.
e: If it's a major missing feature like real lock screen widgets or photo sphere, it probably doesn't belong in this thread, nor does hardware items.

You know you can now hide the wifi calling by long pressing on it in the notification bar, going to app info, and clicking to turn off notifications? It removes the icon and keeps your wifi calling intact.

Widgets. Battery drains I never use.
Stock Samsung colors.
Non-inverted apps.

How about PhotoSphere? I heard it's not on the S4, even though it has 4.2.2.

On my s2 on 4.1.2 you can go to accessory and scroll to bottom and see audio applications just unchecked that and when you plug in headphones its gone not sure if its still the same on s4 but j would imagine so

Unfortunately, it is not. Fortunately, that's the one I've already taken care of.

Another one:
I have a dead/black pixel almost right in the center of the screen. I though OLED displays don't have stuck/dead pixels. Confused.

As per the OP, this kind of thing isn't for this thread. If you can confirm the issue, contact T-Mo or Samsung for a replacement.

A thing I've noticed when showing people swype, is that the faster a typist you are, the easier it is to learn swype. I type 120 WPM myself, so I have a pretty good mental picture of where all of the keys are.
This is why android is #1, customization.

[THEME/UI][TUTORIAL][VIDEO ADDED!] DropUI | A minimal UI (updated: 15th Sept)

*Click image for high res. version.
It has been a while since I made a real homescreen, I had been using Windows Phone for a while before I got my Galaxy S3. You guys have no idea how suffocating those tiles were (But I still love the MetroUI).
So, I call this setup DropUI cause of the raindrops in it. I have this strange fascination about them, they calm me down. You might notice the edges have black spots, they're there so that the screen looks rounded too. Inside the screen is another layer (or I call it a base). The base has the nav, the dock and the folders. I had to include the dock inside the wallpaper and then use blank icons on my launcher cause 7x10 grid was a pain to work with.
I had seen many setups before I created this, the best and the most unique ones used SweeterHome which is a beta launcher and is clunky. I believe in functionality over looks so I chose one of the best launchers out there, Apex Launcher. (You can use GoLauncher too but Apex has some nice gesture controls.) I made most of it, I had to mash up two icon sets and add in some effects to them. (resources are listed below). Unlike most of the complex setups which make it really hard to change wallpapers, each of my homescreen changes its wallpaper automatically. I had to make couple of wallpaper variations but same wallpapers get boring after a while. The folders are made up of Simi Folder widget and the text is made up of Minimalistic Text.

[APP] Galaxy Screen burn-in\ghosting diagnose and repair utility

Hi All,
I've written a small utility that will help you diagnose and repair screen burn-in issues on your Galaxy Nexus.
You can download the App from here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bengigi.screen.diagnostic
The diagnose mode shows a full screen white color, with minimal brightness so you can check if you have screen burn-in issues.
The repair mode displays a full screen inverted color of the Galaxy Nexus buttons and top bars.
Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas\comments about the App and how it can be improved.
Thanks!
Changes
-------------
Version 1.1:
- Added support for custom images by taking a screen shot

1 minute of doing this and the burn in is gone
Seems great. Looks like I haven't suffered any burn in, but if I did this utility wouldn't help me as I don't use the stock soft key images, and this will only display an invert of those images.

No, the inverted image I'm using is based on the stock rom navbars, but I can modify it to support other navbars, but I'll need a screen shot of the for that.

Notification Toggles from the market will do that too. I like the look of Widgetsoid on previous post but I couldn't figure out how to use it right away and I downloaded it and Notification Toggles together so I never gave Widgetsoid a second look. Maybe I will now.
Just sucks that such a big feature was omitted in 4.2. I mean its one of the quickest most relevant features on the 4.1.2 rom. Neat and simple too. Guess I'll have to wait even long for 4.2

Those are for touchjizz roms. The OP is asking for AOSP 4.2.1 ROMs.
OP, in answer to your question, 4.2 is still very new (to us at least) and the devs are working on it. TBH, I actually like the hidden toggles that 4.2 has.

That's a good suggestion, but do you guys not see what I'm saying? I don't mind waiting for it to happen but basically the way the 4.1.2 was setup was that the notification bar/toggles were available on 1 singular easy pull down. 4.2 has it so that notifications is one pull down and settings->toggles are another screen. It's just annoying to do that with something you use so frequently. Unncessary and bad design on google's part. Hopefully independent ROM designers are listening up.

New note 7 Update notification system changed

Yes, so annoying and no option to choose between individual and grouped notification...
Omg, Samsung keeps finding ways to make this worse, like if the new green battery icon was not enough, now they get even further away from Google guidelines by ditching the cards style notifications? Guess I'll switch to the Pixel XL or OP3. Note 7 had everything to be the king and for the first time I was enjoying the Samsung UI with Grace UX, no more however...

I don't mind this for Tapatalk and Twitter because they are so "noisy" with updates, but I definitely don't like it for the launcher, where it is grouping charging, weather and other things,I want to see all launcher notifications independently.
P.s here in Australia, the unbranded N7 got this particular update 1 week after launch, then of course we all got the 60% update a couple of days ago..

I'm in the US and didn't get an update to change notification panel at all. I got the green battery symbol (which I kinda like) but that's it. Everything else looks normal
