Try this:
1- On your device go to Menu... System Settings... More...About device/
2- Tap 5 times on "build number" to enable "Developer option"
3- Goes back to /more /tap on Developer option
4- Enable "USB Debug Mode"
Worked and thankyou

Make sure USB Debug is enabled.
Use saferoot.zip. Much better way to root, and does not require flashing.
Thanks. Yea, debugging is enabled. Is there a link for saferoot?
Found Saferoot and it worked fine for this. Thanks.

Nothing works
That's why I came back to stock, MTP is slow and often breaks the copying during the process. The way I see it, you can use the sd card reader for your PC if you have one, or put your sdcard in some other phone you have that runs android 2.3-4.3.
