Kernel Update 2013.05.013 by cofface
This should be the easiest way to root the i9500 (yes, the so called 8-core one) by now.
Kernel Feature:
1. Based on i9500 newest update1 kernel code
2.Perfect Root;
3.support wifi,bluetooth,exfat,etc.
4.support I9500 4.2.2 Roms
5.Autoroot system
6.Newest su and superuser.apk file
7.Fixed exfat,add supprot ntfs,fat,nfs etc.
Tested on my I9500(I9500ZCUAMDH、I9500ZCUAMDG、I9500ZCUAMDG、I9500XXUAMDK、I9500DXUAMDK、I9500XXUAMDL etc.)

Just download the zip and unzip it, flash the cofface_i9500_boot_rootUpdate1.1.tar as PDA in Odin.

This is kinda strange, I assume when ex-FAT is supported, my 64 gigs SD card is supposed to be able to be read but that's not the case and the only app that I can grant permission is battery stat. BusyBox and AdAway made the phone go into a bootloop. Before this, I used the old build partial root (new method) and root check showed me that it is rooted but no busybox binary.
I'm on JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDE.

Loading the exFat modules is only half the story, to get them to work you need some additional changes (Cofface didn't actually test an sdcard?). I'll be posting a working kernel hopefully later today or tomorrow.

crawlingcity, does your build load the wifi module to ram? The patched kernel in the clk thread may be copying the module to the wrong folder.
Did that and it was still broke which kernel?

push the modules manually, for me, it was working out of the box. check the md5 hash.

Craw dog is an confused.. what is different with this build over the one already out and why did you release 2.5 I thought you were past that..?ETA on 3.1???
Its been so long since I used adb. Could you give me some instructions or point me somewhere? Push the modules with adb? Any command line clues?

So I have tried this without the kernel. With both kernels on the thread and it just wont do anything but scanloop on the wifi I don't pay for data considering I am home 90 percent of the time. Its really to bad because CLK is what I am staying with and it would be nice to find a kernel that made this wifi work. Anybody? Maybe I will have more time tomorrow.

well i did a nandroid from cwm using magldr and restored on clk but wifi doesnt work. Crawling any idea?
I can tell you I am using 2.5 cLK and wifi is fine I have not been able to get this one to work it will turn on and scan endlessly without finding anything

Scott glad you got the att note 2 you did a lot to make the rezound a half way decent device. Seeing what you were able to do with an htc phone that wasnt fully unlocked in its infancy I am just waiting to see what you can do with this beast of a phone.
For some strange reason, this zip is not working with the latest version of TWRP (v2.3.1.2) as it finishes but it doesn't do anything at all.

You need to be de-odex to run this.
Wont work well on Stock ROM.

In Bluetooth Audio to Bluetooth deck is not working (semi-major) confirmed to be fixed in next update

1.speakers doesn't do any sounds after a soft reboot(minor,manual solution=do a full reboot)
2.after applying a theme,the default theme or your old applied theme has left some themed leftovers (minor,manual solution=do a full reboot)
3.after you end a call with someone(or the opposite) the error " inviald number" pops up (minor,No solution rather than wait for CM team for a fix) confirmed to be fixed in next update
4.in the blacklight option, all sections are 1 back, example if your choose 2 secs it will be 3secs (minor,no solution rather than wait for Cm team for fix)

For sure, use latest Xposed v79 here but i don't recommand GravityBox, i have a lot of bug /issues because of GravityBox
Personnaly i use Xposed for some Xposed tweaks and Lucky Patcher.
i am trying with twrp 28.7.0 and 2.8.7.2 f2fs but dont boot at all any idea?

Try reflashing the ROM(perhaps you wiped the system by mistake)
But what variant of s4 you have?

No,you supposed to do a clean Install but you can leave the internal storage alone
Just wipe cache,dalvik,data and system then flash the ROM
