Hi everyone,
Just updated my Galaxy note 2 with Omega rom and now I am unable to dial directly from either the logs or favorite screens. It just opens the contact record for details at which i i find that green phone icon to dial. Before this update i used to dial directly from the log and favorite screens, now I have to do one more step .... Any idea how to fix this ?

You can use shortcusts right?
Homepage > Shortcut > Call shortcut > Select contact

yes, I can use work-arounds ... but i am looking for this feature which has been removed for some reason.

I just want to share the step that i made for add the voice search icon
to my home screen .
1. Download launcher pro from the market
2. when is downloaded in your stock laucher go to widgets and you will see a icon call Activities
3. Drag on your home screen and will pop up a menu
4. Then scroll down util you see voice search select that and then select the second option.
that's all..
There are a couple ways to get this done. I use xShortcut, which will monitor and capture activity calls.

how to create a shortcut or widget to this menu?
store it into your contacts and add a widget to this contact.
I have tried that , unfortunately it try to ring this "number" so it doesnt work this way.

There's two separate hidden menus
*#*#SERVICE#*#* (or) *#*#7378423#*#*
*#*#INFO#*#* (or) *#*#4636#*#*
If you want to change the SMS Service Centre number, you'll need to do it through the INFO menu.
So noone knows how to create widget / shortcut for those "hidden menus"
???
It would be nice to have that instead of "dialing the combination"

You can try an USSD checker app but not sure if it will work because it normally starts with an asterisk (*) and ends with a hash (#).

Do a search for 4636v2 on Google Play. There is a shortcut that you can download and put on your homescreen that will do this.

In the stock dialer, it requires more steps to get to one's contact list or dialer pad (for T9 dialing)
Has anyone found a good way to open the dialpad directly from a homescreen shortcut, or access favorite contacts directly?

if you use xposed installer,gravity box module has an option when you push call icon it opens directly the dialpad,don t know if this helps ypu though

thanks - I have GB and the option checked, but it doesn't do anything for me
tried using secure settings to access all the child activities under the phone app as parent, but none of those worked either
the multiple steps just to make a phone call is frustrating ... guess as time goes by, devs start to forget that the smartphone is actually meant to be used as a phone (too)!

It's disabled by default for most 7.0+ systems,
Go to Messenger settings, find "Chat Heads" section, enable it, as they'll guide you.

If on MIUI 11:
Go to Settings > Apps > Permissions > Other Permissions > select Messenger > display pop-up windows > Allow
If on MIUI 10:
Go to Settings > Permissions > Other Permissions > select Messenger > display pop-up windows > Allow

Hi there
Whenever I install an app a new page gets created and the shortcut for app goes on that page, even though the three pages/screens already have a lot of space left.
Is there a setting somewhere which would stop adding the shortcut after creating a new screen.
Launcher and all settings are factory based with original Samsung firmware.

Go to home settings and untick "Add apps to home screen". That way whenever you install a new app, no shortcut is created. If you still want to have a shortcut made but limited to adding to current screens instead of creating a new page, I have no idea on that.

I know how to disable, what I'm looking for is how to get shortcuts on current page.
