Is There A Screen Protector That Fits Perfectly & Dry Install? - Galaxy S III Accessories

I just got my S3 and I'm loving it so far. I ordered the Seidio dry install screen protectors from Amazon b/c that is what I've been using on my last 3 phones and have always loved them, especially b/c they were dry install. Their protector for the S3 unfortunately doesn't even look like it was made for the S3. I could see it being a little off, but this isn't even close. I'm very disappointed and will return them ASAP.
So now I'm back to square one. Who makes a good dry apply screen protector for the S3? I'd like it to fit the front perfectly, but I can live if it doesn't quite come to the outer edges, but I'd like it to be close. I prefer a dry application process as I feel comfortable doing them and don't get any bubbles. Those spray bottles and squeegees make me nervous, but if there is a wet protector out there that is awesome, I'd consider if I can get someone else to install.
Please help, I hate when my screen is naked!

Amazon has a few, including :
http://www.amazon.com/SPIGEN-SGP-Pr...-2&keywords=curved+screen+protector+galaxy+s3
eBay may turn up more.

Im using spigens curved crystal. Which was very great and fit edge to edge. Though if you weren't very cautious using it, your fingernails will leave marks like indents on the screen. But not that big issue.

Diztronic screen protector.

I got a free on with my tpu case. I'm wondering if it is nice enough to use.
For reference I removed the zagg from my moment because it made the screen grainy.
I removed the zagg from my epic 4G for the same thing
I removed the sprint on from my galaxy s2 because it made the screen blurry. And the feel of the plastic sucked for swype.

I just installed the Zagg HD on my phone. So far it seems nice. I just worry that it may peel easy.
i installed the one from diztronic and didnt really like the feeling for swype.
I'm using one. It does not seem to impact the quality of the screen as it's perfectly clear and shiny (no grain). Mine is a little too wide and it lifts a little bit on the sides (top and bottom are good). Feel is alright, but it does not feel as good as the glass. If anyone knows of a screen protector that has better feel but is as clear as the Diztronic, let me know. You have nothing to lose by trying it for yourself. If you do, let us know how I compares to the others you have used. Which Zagg did you try on your S3? The HD or non-HD?
I just got it in the mail mail today (I work 3rd shift so it came Monday, I ordered it at 1am last thursday Thursday.), I installed it it was perfectly clear. I now use SwiftKey so swyping is no longer an issue. The only screen protector fit perfectly. I did take it off because it had too many bubbles.
Not going to blame Diztronic for this.
I would recommend it for sure.
I never used a protector for the s3 I don't really plan to. I had no protector on my s2 for the entire year I had it. Did the s2 have gorilla glass.?

I have it installed but don't like it. It covers the front camera and smudges super easy. Covering the front camera might be considered a feature but I'd rather it was uncovered along with the light sensors. It doesn't cover the edges if that is improtant to you. Overall, Yes it should protect your screen and is fine enough for free, but I've got a different model on order.
Not a fan of the Diztronic screen protector. Too many bubbles, rough surface to swipe over, and the cleaning cloth they give you actually sheds material if you try to use it.
I love my new Diztronic case but don't like the screen protector. Applied it and took it off in a matter or minutes. Even took some Scotch tape and tried to get the stuff on the screen off and it still had bubbles. Case is great though.

[Q] regret taking off screen protector ?

I bought a galaxy nexus off of someone from craigs list. And it has a wet apply a screen protector on it, he said he had it on it since day 1 so there is no scratches on the screen. But there is a terrible orange peel affect on the screen protector now, and I really want to take the protector of but I was wondering if any of you ever took a screen protector off then regretted doing so. Also how many of you don't actually have a screen protector and its doing good against scratches? Thank you!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I can't stand the orange peel feeling..I would take it off and buy another one that doesn't have the peel effect. Your screen should be fine without one.
I used to have a screen protector, and took it off about one hour later. I hate the feeling of the screen protector, also I think it reduces the screen quality.
So far I have no scratches, I always have my phone in my pants with no protection whatsoever.

Are u sure? I had an htc amaze without a screen protector for 6 months, no scratches. This screen will be ablle to hold up too? Do u have a screen protector? And what I don't like about the regular plastic screen protectors that are dry install, are the fact that they pick up lint, fingers prints, debris, smudge, and oils from your fingers. Which really annoy me. The wet install one that I have on now doesn't at all. But it has horrible orange peel. I'm really indecisive on what to do :/

I don't have a galaxy nexus but I throw all my phones around. They're scratched up and look pretty bad, but at least I don't have to idolize my phone, worrying about it 24/7.

Just because others haven't got scratches doesn't mean that you won't either. You need to ask yourself if it's worth the risk.

I use the screen protector that came included with my tpu case, I ordered a skinomi, but haven't had reason to apply it. I prefer the glass feel, which my current protector does a decent job of providing.
I'm as careful as possible with my phone, but my lifestyle requires that added protection.

I have not used a screen protector in years. Did not have one on my N1, my NS, for G Nex. For each I have purchased a $5 neoprene sleeve on ebay. I at least put it in the sleeve, because I wear what most would consider tight fitting denim pants most of the time, thus my phone regularly comes in contact with keys, pens, etc. No issues thus far.
When in use I slid it out of the case, and if there is a good change I'll use it again soon, I keep it out and rest it on top of the sleeve on my desk. As an added bonus, everytime you slide the phone in and out of the sleeve it cleans the screen just a bit. Actually keeps the finger prints to acceptable level.
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I'm going to suxk it up and take the screen protector off, I guess Ill keep the tpu case on it and get a pouch.
I have a job where I'm around dust, debri and EVERYTHING all the time. Anyone have a decent vertical pouch they suggest?

Looks good, but I was hoping for something more that I could flip open and have the screen exposed. Because I'm constantly taking my phone in n out of my pocket so I would like the screen the accessible. Maybe a vertical style pouch
Or something like this, but I need it I have a clip or belt loop

I always use a screen protector
People who are really careful with their phone as most people on XDA probably are may be able to go without a screen protector, but it should never be considered safe, if you don't have a screen protector you can scratch the screen, period.
Also I don't want to have to baby my phone, I like to be able to throw it in my pocket, and not worry if my car keys are in that pocket or a credit card etc.
I can't stand looking at a scratched screen so I use and advise people to use a screen protector.
If you want proof that even gorilla glass breaks and scratches go to ebay and look at used phones, the majority of them that don't have the words this phone always had a screen protector on it in the description have at least minor scratches and scuffs on the screen and many are much worse.
If you really hate the orange peel feeling, go for a dry screen protector. They are harder to apply than a wet screen protector but they don't have that orange peel feeling. When i use a dry screen protector I normally buy a 5 or 6 back on ebay, because occasionally I'll junk a screen protector or two before getting one on to my satisfaction.
I admit though the curved screen of the gnex is difficult with dry protector, my first application didn't go that well I may have to try a tempered glass protector or a wet screen protector, at first the orange peel feeling may bother you but you adjust to it after awhile.

Hey, thanks for your input. I still haven't manned up and taken off the screen protector yet because I'm still scared I will get scratches on the screen. Like I stated before I work at a place where I am constantly around dust and debris and have things in my pocket so Im just keeping it on for now. I'm also thinking about getting a small carrying case that doesn't have any cut out or anything just something I could slip my phone in and toss in my pocket

Well,
You need to keep the screen protector mate.
Although our screens comes with a scratch resistant technology (not Gorilla Glass but close), the dust, specially a grain of sand will scratch our screen easily. It can witstand keys, credit cards but tiny things like sand will scratch it, for sure.
Like everyone said, the dry protectors doesn't affect screen quality.
Cheers!
Get any screen protector except anti-glare.
Those things suck.
And the ones I use are easy to apply. U just apply and done and work out air bubbles for 5 min.
Verizon Screen Protectors are the best IMO. So easy.

Case friendly screen protector?

I usually use the ZAGG invisishields but the one I got for my GS3 is damn near edge to edge which make the edges bunch up when I put my case on. The case I have is pretty standard. Its nothing crazy. All previous phones have left a small gap at the edge of the screen so that the case doesn't come in contact with the protector.
Does anyone know of a good screen protector that will work with a case? I typically prefer applied wet protectors since I find they are more forgiving to install and typically stay on better than the dry ones. I'm open minded though if someone found a dry one that works amazing.
I'm having this problem too with a tpu case I just got.. I have an xoskins protector on right now. I'm trying to remember if I got the 'case fit' or not.. apparently the case fit means its smaller so we won't have this problem of the case peeling up the edges..
Anyways.. I would check them out I'm pretty happy with the protector..

I have the same screen protector and HAD that same problem with my Incipio SILICRYLIC® DualPro. But I went back to my Ringke SLIM lite, and the screen protector doesnt lift. But I had to give up some protection.
I got the zagg hd and it sucks with a case.. Will rip right off once you put the case on.. For now I took it off completely and have the case on

Which one should be better guys? ArmorSuit MilitaryShield or Fantom Tempered Glass? Im between one of those two.
I'm using the one that came with my otterbox, its crystal clear and doesnt attract minor scratches
Ok, now i don't want the Fantom...im torn between the AmorSuit MilitaryShield and the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD. Im also looking for a case, and my top option is the Seidio Active with kickstand.I love the idea of a kickstand. I find myself often trying to put something on the back of my phone to hold it on my desk in "dock" position.
I can thoroughly recommend the Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic.
Easy to fit with no bubbles, great looking glass-like finish and far less annoying finger prints than the glass screen. I'm nearly completely over my obsessive screen cleaning issues!

I'd advise you to stay away from ZAGG. I have been using one since 2 months now and it's FAR from invisible, though it's smooth but not invisible!
I had the xgear fantom...twice...it kept lifting so now i'm without. It is a great idea, I wish they would perfect it.
I'm using the zagg screen protector. Most people complain about it but I love it. Its super good at absorbing shock. I don't know how many times I've dropped my gnex screen down, and the screen in still flawless.

good lightweight screen protector. no friction

i like the front of my screen being smooth and frictionless (ie no heavy rubber protector)...is there any good screen protector out there, that's light, doesn't have too much friction (could be as simple as a bubbless peelon) out there for the s3? Also wouldn't take away too much from the 'press' intensity I have to apply to my phone screen.
Usually I wouldn't make athread for such things but there seem to be so many different goods, knockoffs, fake reviews out there I'm unsure what to get
Steinheil Ultra Nano Clear. It comes in a 3-pack for about $15 shipped directly from manufacturer's website. I've tried the cheap one that came with my Ballistic case, a 3M Natural View, and DBA Just Like Glass and this one is better than any of those. It was a little bit "grippy" at first but my finger slid around smoothly after a little while. I also managed the best-looking installation of all the brands I've tried (it's a simple dry installation, which I applied in a steamy bathroom to prevent trapped dust). It's completely invisible with no lifting edges (all the others lifted where the screen curves at the edges). And no, I don't work for them.
Completely agree, amazing screen protector.

Dba just like glass, exactly what you're looking for.
How easy was it to apply and remove? Is the adhesive too strong or sticky?
I picked up the day I bought my S3 the Zagg Invisible Skin HD. I've always used Invisible Skins and this one is leaps and bounds better as far as clarity and smoothness. Also still retains the lifetime guarantee.

what's the difference between the nano clear and the crystal curve?
I'm so frustrated I'm about to drop Spiegel all together
Talk about poor marketing
I'm not a fan of the "step 1 and step 2" multi-pack screen protectors that don't stick well. Ya gotta figure there's a reason they come in 3-packs, because they suck. I see that Zagg makes a "smudge proof" screen protector for the Note 2. I'd really like to see it for the Galaxy S3.
Rearth Ringo...Pros: cant tell its on the screen..application was easy with no bubbles and feels smooth as glass. Cons: Doesn't go edge to edge and it does scratch easily.

I got the ultra clear nano. First screen protector ever. Looks beautiful
A few tips to newbies applying it. I left mine by a steamy shower. Paranoid and let the dust particles settle. Cleaned it with the micro cloth.
Take the ' 'front' end is at the bottom left of the screen. On the top make sure the camera isn't covered (it shouldn't matter much if it were, in my opinoin)...peel the back end half way off (MOST IMPORTANT POINT...it is a very light screen protector that will fall back on its sticky self if you don't) and apply from the bottom (or front end part of your phone) and slowly peel back your way up.
Iron out the bubbles with the rubber thingy
Peel off front. Most bubbles should be out anyways.
The peelback should be a very smooth uniform motion. You also do NOT want any part of the plastic to fold on top of itself. It gives the appearance of a scratch on the screen.
This baby is so smooth and exactly what I wanted, but I could see why a lot of people complained about wasting one while trying to learn to apply it. Its like nothing was applied to it. No friction ,especially with sweaty hands and you can easily forget its on.

If it's not too much trouble, would you update the thread/pm me when you see scratches + your opinion about how scratch resistant the protector is? There seems to be mixed thoughts of how easily it is to scratch it
I will be remember what i said on application and how it is so thin it folds on it laelf and can give tje impression of a scratch. Initial application has to be very smooth. Other than that its great if youbwere sitting wjith me you wouldnt notice a screen protector on. I honestly don't see it scratching though. That and it has the right amount of friction. The sweat on your hands actually lubricates your finger across the screen.
