[Q] Acid Audio EngineRemoval - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello all,
I followed the guide posted by jvilla785 to install the acid audio engine 5.0 last night and it seemed to work fine as I could definitely hear the difference through my headphones. However I noticed today when listening to audio without headphones that it had cut the loudness of my speakers in half and thus the cons out weigh the benefits. I am on rooted stock. I would like to remove the acid audio engine tweak but cannot find anywhere how to do so. I did not do a backup prior to flashing the tweak (I know, dumb mistake). I would have posted this question in the other topic but it will not allow me to since I am a noob. My last phone was a lg g2x so i am behind in the current rooting tricks and techniques. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

I have now re flashed the stock tar using odin since nobody gave me any other suggestions. However the speaker volume is still greatly less then it was when I first recieved the phone. My wife has a htc phone with beats on it and when I first got the gs4 I compared the sound of it to hers and. it was louder. Will someone please tell me what could be causing this as it is driving me nuts?
Thanks

I would love to remove it too. It gives me a lot of problems when I have the headphones plugged in and I switch from Google music to Pocketcast

Increase Base Volume Levels?

Stupid question...
Is there any way to increase the base volume level on the Incredible? Listening to podcasts via the speaker phone is sometimes challenging in certain environments. I would like to be able to increase the levels if possible.
Anyone know if this is possible?
I also would like to increase the volume on this , Bluetooth and inbound calls.

Same, but for all audio out.
There was an app called LVH (Louder Volume Hack) in the market that I purchased when I had my Eris that worked PERFECTLY for this on CM5/CM6/Stock Sense. But the app doesn't appear to work on my Incredible. Which sucks Because I LOVED being able to crank the headset/bluetooth volume.. I would love to see something like this working on the inc..
!EDIT! Apparently I just didn't try enough times because I got the app working on the official OTA 2.2! The app appears to work but I do not think the volume is actualy being increased.. gonna try the 4.0 Beta.

LVH Apparently Doesn't work for DINC!
Hi Guys,
Purchased the LVH from Meltus, thinking that with root, I'd have no problem using it, but while it did run, and say it had successfully pushed the proper values, it didn't seem to increase the volume. I wrote the dev, & he told me it doesn't work with the Droid Incredible :-(
His site: http://androidaudiohacks.com, does have disclaimers and info indicating the app is for earlier phones like the G1, and Saphire, and doesn't work on Droid, or branded android phones, but not clear enough for idiots like me! He also said in his reply that Google had locked access to the volume files on later phones, and so increasing the volume requires modifying the kernel.
Incredibles are known for blowing out their own speakers. I recommend avoiding this.my speaker is a little blown just with normal use. I now play audio 2 clicks from max volume.

I've been looking for the same thing. Took a trip a week ago and could not hear a movie with my earphones on the plane ride. I just found a new post last night in the "themes and apps" sub forum titled Audio/Equalizer. It has a this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783737 to a DSP equalizer you can install. You must be rooted. Works well for me with a modest gain in volume and improved sound quality. You can simply put the zip in the root directory of your sd card and use clockwork mod to install the zip. (you may have to toggle signature verification off first). Just make sure to do a Nandroid backup first in case you encounter a problem.
Thanks guys! You both ROCK!

Thanks, luvit.
I didn't know about the speaker issue. My interest has been more focused on use with headphones, and in-call, which is a different speaker than the one I believe you are referring to.
I noticed the sound from the Incredible rear speaker was quite a bit higher fidelity than on other HTC phones I've owned, which may account for its being a bit more fragile, but that's just speculation. I'll be a lot more careful with it.

That sounds like it might just do it. Thanks for the links, and instructions, too. I'll definitely give it a try, and reply back to this thread with my experience.
My best to both of you. This is just another example of why xda developer's forums totally ROCK!

[Q] No bass on AOKP

Hey everybody,
I'm new here and after some searching around on the web and on the forums here I still couldn't find an answer to my question so I decided to post it here. So here it goes:
After flashing the custom ROM of aokp from this thread, everything is working fine and I absolutely love the ROM. The only "problem" I have with this ROM is that the bass from any sound of my phone is completely gone (even tried with quality headphones - speaker or headphones doesn't make a difference - tried installing an equalizer but that didn't make a difference). I haven't installed a beats driver yet because last time I tried it broke my device (searched for beats driver on play store and installed 'beats audio installer root')...
If anybody has any idea of what I could try to get the bass back, it would be much appreciated.
Thx in advance.
Sincerely,
Sindrave
Solution found !
Okay sorry for posting too early... After some more searching I found the solution in this thread !
This thread is resolved.

Pandora

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to XDA developers and I'm loving it! Full of great tips/help from everyone. On a side note, I recently got the Samsung Galaxy S3 for Sprint and rooted it with Cyanogen Mod 10.1 Nightlies. I haven't had any issues with it other than one thing...Pandora! Pandora works great, but the keyboard doesn't work in the app so I can't add new music or add variety. I updated to the newest nightly the other day and now my Pandora will skip every time I open up a new app. It doesn't skip the song just skips lyrics. It's rather annoying. Is anyone else having a problem with this at all? I've done a bit of searching on the Google and on the website but haven't found anything super useful. Any help would be so great! Thanks in advance fellas!
Just be warned alot of guys on here can give rude and / smart butt responses just letting you know

You fed the trolls. Why did you?
To the OP.
Go to Settings/Apps
Select and hold Pandora until a menu with a Clear Data shows, Press it. Then start Pandora again. Feedback.

I'm not having any problems with Pandora as of lately. I'm either on 4G LTE, a sub-par 3G signal, or roaming on Verizon's EvDo at work. All of these data connections are strong enough for Pandora on High Quality. I'm using an unlimited skips version (v1.7.1, do a google search for it.) and it works great. I don't use the lyrics section of the app so it's possible that I may have the bug, too. But I use exclusively AOSP roms and they work very well for me.
EDIT: I did have the bug you were talking about on an older CM10.1 nightly. But the bug is definitely fixed in the latest build. I'd suggest searching around for the modified APK (hacked is such a strong word), and load that on your device. Be sure to uninstall any instances of Pandora prior to installing the modified version. Hope I helped.

No go on resetting the settings. I also tried a new rom which didn't seem to help either. I still can't use my keyboard in Pandora and it still cuts out when I press any button. It's just a quick cut but it's really annoying. Well my Pandora problem is solved on making stations
Turns out the cutting out is all music programs

What kernel are you using, by chance? I'd try ktoonsez and see if that fixes the issue

[Q] speaker volume boost

Does anyone know where I can find a modification to just boost the volume of the speakers on this phone? I've searched these forums, I've searched Google but to no avail. I'm not looking for crisper sounding audio, just something that increases the decibels of the speakers output. Even if someone knows what files I would need to edit would be a great help. I found something for the m7 but not for the m8.
Something like this would be perfect.

After flashing the Harman/Kardon mod, I noticed a significant boost in speaker volume. It is posted in the development section. You will need to flash an updated firmware file though (adsp) as well (you can find it in that thread as well).

[Q] No Music Audio on AOKP - Need a fix!

Can any one help with this? I'm by no means a noob with rooting and adb and what not but, I somehow managed to get my M8 soft bricked yesterday and the only rom I could manage to sideload was the AOKP rom because it was under 1 gb. I'd like to hang on to this rom but the audio isn't working out of the headphone jack or out of the speakers when listening to music specifically with Google Music. Youtube and everything else seems to work..
Thanks for any help :good:
you'll probably get better answers if you post in the AOKP thread..sounds like a kernal issue though

I sorted it out. It was Google Music maxed out with devices (max is 10) Of course I didn't get a warning or any of that.. I just happened to guess that might be it. Google needs to make that more clear.
I was going to ask the question in the ROM thread but even though I've been a member of XDA for 3+ years I have less than 10 posts and can only use the Q&A section
