[GUIDE][MOD][GT-i9082/L]_OPTIMIZE DPI 5''_UP 6.6.2013(2 pictures:notifications) - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Themes and Apps

INTRODUCTION
This tread i creating by sugest of DBZo07 in tread of K2Wl.
I your computer you now is possible change resolution you see i screen.
In android some is possible.
In computer : settings-> screen resolution. And donne. Big or small size.
In android....well little diferent, but the name: DPI. More information in google lol
This phone wen i bought i see my old phone sony ericsson 3,2'' screen. But in large scale.
Stupid, if i have screen 5'' lets go make the most of it.
/*FIX words*/
music.soul says

But DPI is in "RESOLUTION" and not actually the RESOLUTION
Resolution Scales differently
DPI is Dots Per Inch
That is ... in every inch of resolution HOW MANY DOTS would be there ...
So as much as more DPI dots are more and the SIZE of THE GUI increases
RESOLUTION STILL REMAINS SAME
6 June 2013
->Add 2 pictures: SYSTEM UI witch best DPI

->Future updates: pictures in steps to configurations DPI /*i don´t now have time and in this moment i don´t have my PC*/
->Studing "Supporting Multiple Screens" and google to find best solution in
Grand Duos witch (~187 ppi pixel density)/240DPI

SAMPLE APPETIZING IDEA
Weel lets go see pictures to show. Using multiwindows, office pro(is a paid app) and app Settings:
App1: 240DPI App2:240DPI

GOOGLE PLAY:
Using 120 apear the button in up right to open my apps, much better if old mod wen is need click settings and click my apps.
In searching app ok, probably is small words.
YOUTUBE:
GOOGLE MAPS/DRIVE:
New conclusions: samsungs app is sucks, only works in one DPI:240. lol.
To see in large scale in your computer: Gdrive

Interesting is not it?
In post 2 the guide. :victory:

GUIDE
For default DPI the samsung grand duos come witch 240 DPI.
For the best DPI comfortable is 160 DPI BUT samsung apps are stupid because is creating for 240DPI sow is make error wen open.
Is need fix and to do is need 2 app: Xposed Installer and AppSettings.
Both are in this post create by xperiacle. There are instructions for installing.
So in this moment is need:
->Samsung Grand Duos;
->android rooted;
->Install: Xposed Installer and AppSettings (don´t forget instructions to install this 2 app´s)
->Install: Paid app: rom toolbox or Free app: Pimp My Rom (i tested ).
1)For easy guide i use free app: Pimp My Rom. Lets change global DPI 240 to 160DPI:
->open->select in menu:"tools"->then "density Changer".
->The app explains the steps...step nº1, nº2, nº3 .....simply just read. In step nº5 select 160DPI. Reboot.
2)Fix the app´s.
->open "app settings"
->click in app to fix and put in 240 DPI. /*i upload pictures to help in this steps*/
3)List apps to fix 240 DPI:
Calculator
Camera
Clock
com.sec.bcservice
Contacts
Dialer Storage
FM Radio
Messaging
OMACP
OmaDrmPopup
Phone
PhoneUtil
S Memo
S Note Provider
S Planer
4)List apps to best resize 120 DPI witch 1000x1600 scale:
Google Play Store
Maps (is the google maps and Ndrive)
Settings
Settings Storage
Youtube
Gmail /*creditsBZo07 */
Tapatalk HD /*creditsBZo07 */
5)List apps are limited in DPI
Outlook.com: fine in 160 but in 120 the app is not god to avail best of resize screen
Most of games (i belive all) you don´t need resize because the game are resize to best for your screen, I try some 2 or 3 and did nothing.
All app samsung stock are made for only DPI. Samsung grand duos: 240, the Galaxy II for 320DPI.
And finished. For me is the best remix DPI . But you can make your best DPI.
For default using 160DPI, if you download some app from google play you don´t have problem in DPI, in my case until now i don´t see problem.
Some times i resize app to 120 DPI like google maps lol,
The games for now not problem.

@Jomota7 very nice efforts. You saved much time of trial and error for DPI.
Its OK with words, still understandable and I could easily use it.
I request other members to cooperate as OP doesn't have English as primary language still he communicates in xda with Google translate.
That deserves appreciation...
Good work @Jomota7 , keep it up.

I know you're the person who told me loud mouth and suddenly your comment was deleted.. its OK.. here we all are part of xda.
Its fine. There is enough development happening for device like grand. If some one wanted heavy development than they should have purchased device looking at xda forum. Xperia z, S3, S2...
Regarding DPI development, it was very important to open a thread and let members about the complete effects and use of DPI. Hence, now k2wl does not have to focus on DPI setting in his custom ROM.
Now , let's be on interesting topic...

I would say make a new thread, and put its link in ur signature.
In that thread we can discuss the features(as in why one rom is better than other etc.) of different roms u mentioned earlier.
This will help u decide better and people will come to know about different roms , and it may even invoke more development for our grand.

i seriously think cm,aokp and miui for rom devlopment .
these three are most used & most friendly roms on other threads.
so i think u should focus on cm first then aokp then miui.
and @simplyanin no need to say sorry. we all are part of community and like family of grands...

(Q) Some Questions

Hey all.. i just need some information for these questions hope you guys can help
1. ICS keyboard full vs smart keyboard pro, which one is better and use less ram?
2. What launcher use the less ram? I use zeam launcher but the ram usage is around 10mb but sometimes it use 20mb it is almost the same as using nova launcher. Could someone suggest me what launcher use less ram and maybe with some costumization. (Not fully costumizable )
3. Does lag in some games depends on how much free ram is available in our device?
4. The last thing could someone give me some names of good games that compatible for our device?
5. Which one have a better usage between Zdbox and rom toolbox pro?
6. Could someone suggest me a task manager widget just like go task manager? Because i don't know which one is the best
7. I'm using 3g network but my device is very hot just like playing some hard gaming. Is it normal?
8. My cousin use galaxy y. And i ask him when he play games does your phone gets hot like mine? He said no. Just warm but not hot like mine. Is it caused because our processor is 1.4?
9. If the phone is hot. Is it affecting the decreases of battery percentage and life time?
That's all my question.

Hi
ICS KB and KB Pro is good app but Swift Key 3 Pro is more reliable and perfect for your Bio ROM
1. Download and Install Swift 3 Key Pro (Here it is) and make it default, Choose Settings and select layout of your keyboard and theme.
2. I use many launchers such as Go Launcher EX, Zeam, Nova and many more but everyone is heavy, I personally use Touchwiz 5.
Download and Dont Install directly , use Root Explorer, Copy TouchWiz 5 & Launcher (Touchwiz & Launcher )
Method: Copy Both Files TW50.apk & Launcher.apk file and paste into system/app and paste there, before pasting, Mount your phone and Set permission (see attachment for detail)
And Reboot !
If you dont have Root explorer then download it from Here it is
3. Download All-In-One Toolbox app easily from Google Play Store (see attachment for Sure)
4. Well i dont like games, So Sorry for that
5. Download and Install Use Auto Killer Memory Optimizer Pro 7 (Here it is), when install pick a preset 'Extreme' or 'Ultimate' depend on your games requirement. Your Ram will always free and it will kill automatically un-use apps
6. Same repeat # 3
7. Dont use OC (Over Clock ROMs) make sure your maximum processor speed is 1.4 Ghz in Developer Settings
8. Note Sure, because i also Galaxy W but my device is in good condition, i check always
9. Yes, when your phone getting hot it means many apps/processes using your android OS and its make hot your device, So just use Auto Killer Memory (See attachment)
Sorry for bad english
After that I'm sure your phone and your mind will be fresh like Mint
Press Thanks if you agree with all these comments :good:

Do it at your own risk though. I haven't meet any problem with boot stuck or brick while I even delete my android keyboard

Brilliant sound mod app

I know this is probably in the wrong section, but I figured if I put it in general, more people would see it and benefit from it.
It's an app that I was linked to when I asked a question on the S2 forum.......
Imagine ANY graphic equaliser/sound enhancement app you've ever tried but 2 or 3 times better, and you have Viper4android FX.
THIS APP REQUIRES ROOT ACCESS
Here's the link........
http://vipersaudio.com/swupdate/viper4android/download.html
One of the top two links is applicable, depending on whether you are running GB (top link) or ICS/JB (second link).
The bottom link is for phones running JB 4.3/CM10.2
On first run, it'll ask for superuser permission.....allow this. Then you'll see a screen like this.......
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

select the bottom option to allow the app to download and install the required assets.........
Then reboot, start tweaking the settings and enjoy........:thumbup:
Edit @arsradu you were right.....
Just read the original thread here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
and it states for single core devices running at greater than 800mhz use cortex a8 neon.......
I stand corrected

Sounds good. I don't know how the actual app sounds like but we'll see.
You most likely got the instructions from S2 forum cause the bottom option is not for Galaxy Wonder. Is for S2 (Cortex A9, dual-core CPU).
For Ancora, I think Cortex A8 option would be the right one.
I tried out the bottom option on my W (yes I still have it lol) and it seems to work......but I'm quite happy to bow to your more up to date knowledge of the W. I'll uninstall it, and reinstall it under the conditions you mentioned to test it out......
But it's defo worth a try.....
WAY better than DSP Manager that comes as standard with CM.........

I've tried only with the stock, and with an app called Equalizer. Both gave me bugs, or I didn't noticed difference between running or not. But with this app, I've noticed many difference, but, sometimes it's lagging, maybe because I turned on UKSM... I don't know.
My actual earphone is broken and only one side works and this app increased the sound and made me feel like I was with the two sides working. Also, next week my new earphone will arrive and I'll test it better with it.

Its amazing. But the problem is that as soon as I play a song in Apollo Mod, the sound doesn't come from the Viper Equalizer, whereas it comes from the stock equaliser, which in my case is Walkman (ain't too bad )

Hey man! Been using this app for months before you post this And yes, this is simply amazing... i used NoozOxide last time but the dev discontinued it and so i change it to this! Difference between them is just the UI and that this has more effects and tweaks you can put in!

Its amazing. But the problem is that as soon as I play a song in Apollo Mod, the sound doesn't come from the Viper Equalizer, whereas it comes from the stock equaliser, which in my case is Walkman (ain't too bad )

THIS POST IS FOR KNOWLEDGE and TECH STUFF that I WANT to SHARE WITH EVERYONE
I have to give a huge THANKS to @manufan721 for letting me be part of his journey to making this rom as awesome as it is!!!!!! :cyclops:
Also I would like to say THANKS to @twisteddan for making my sig pic and avatar that I'm using on XDA. Friggin awesome pix huh?
Can't forget about giving THANKS to @ptmr3 for his awesome kernel that is in this rom.
Please go and give him thanks yourself here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111228
I know the kernel in the link is an older version but it's cool he deserves more thanks than any of us could give.
I would like to share a dialer hack that @billb23ok turned me on to a while ago when he was trying to get his I317 to connect to all t-mobiles modem frequencies (4g and LTE). Check it out, the link is here where I explain everything: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47934927&postcount=7609
Keep in mind that the video's I link to are my experiences ONLY and may not work the same for everyone because of the fact that we all have different cpu/gpu chips. Meaning the manufacturer had to make hundreds of thousands of these and they all have they're slight differences. Example: under-clocking to 100 mhz frequency and an under-volt of -50 mv are definitely acceptable for my cpu chip, but MAY NOT be acceptable for some people.
Next I would like to share some TRICKSTER MOD settings I uploaded to you tube a little while ago, it MAY help you achieve better battery life and/or performance.
This is the link for the first video with battery savings settings using trickster mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZytzoOyDIE
This is the link for the first video with battery savings settings using trickster mod here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5US5iOOSlT0
I hope those video's are useful!!!
If you decide that multi-window is just not cutting it with only being able to have 2 windows open at a time that aren't re-sizable then you should check out my support thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403763
If you decide you want to make more use of your screen size than samsung would like you to then visit this post I made after extensive testing to find (in my opinion) the best settings for making the most out of your screen size here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45722669&postcount=234
Keep in mind you can play around with the settings to fit your liking because my liking may not be your liking.
XDA RULES
DON'T BE SCARED OF THE THANKS BUTTON
By the way, if you want to hit the THANKS button more than the allowed limit enforced by XDA ( 8 times to be exact ) then download the XDA app, click on the post you want to give THANKS to and a little window pops up on the page with options and the thanks button is one of them. Let me warn you ahead of time that the XDA app is far from perfect. Example: I just gave thanks to someone from the app and it actually gave the thanks the person 2 post's up from the one I wanted it to. So fair warning about that, but at least you can give unlimited thanks per day lol.

Careful your phone bite you. Lol. Download and install it's a great rom. It's based off the md1. 4.3 isn't official for the t889 yet. When it is I'm sure this will be updated shortly after.
Any data drops? All 4.3 ROMS I have tried thus far have data drops when on a call or when screen turns off.

first got to give thanks to THEDEVIOUS1 as he brought multiwindow to the note. from there i used his files to port his work to our phones. as far as smart stay thats all me..
now this zip will be for the jmt8 only. one of my files had to be rewworked to be compatable with jmt8 so i dont recommend flashing it on other uvmc6 roms.

smart stay needs a good amount of light to work. our cams are just not as good in low light as some of the newer ones. also this can only be enabled via notification bar.
multiwindow was fully unlocked working with all apps but jedi rom broke it so im still working on that......

i may be mistaken but technically this should work on any version firmware as long as its 4.1.2 touchwiz based but to answer your real question there are 2 ways to enable more apps...the easiest of which would be to download the free version of "samsung multiwindow manager" from the play store (do NOT apply the patch when asked to do so...it will still work fine) or for those of u familiar with xposed there is a module called "Xposed Multi Window Apps Manager" which works as well. If u guys encounter any force closes with stock samsung apps then they MAY need to be replaced with copies from other multiwindow compatible devices...files from the original device (the N7000 in the case) SHOULD work
Flashed this on a stock 4.1.2 touchwiz. Doesn't seem to work properly, Can't get the apps to split. They just overtake each other and show full screen.

first...u MUST reboot every time u add an app to the list. Second...there are 2 different versions of the app on the play store. This will sound backwards but u want the older "note 10.1" version NOT the newer "phone" version. Third...the apps will NOT automatically appear in the flashbar so u will need to press the edit button located at the bottom of the flashbar and drag the newly added apps over to the list with the rest. The only reason the module wouldnt work is if u forgot to activate it in xposed by putting a check next to it....the reboot and edit rules above apply to the module as well

I use the 120 DPI on com.android.settings, modified via App Settings... the text become much smaller so it's a bit harder to see but at least it feels like you really have a five inch phone not a four inch.
