Is the Surface RT able to remote control Android? - Windows RT General

I bought my surface without thinking of how addicted to Android I am. That was a few months ago. Way to late to the return the device now, so I'm wondering if there is any way I can remote control my Nexus 7 or 4 with the surface. This would help out with the lack of apps and help me use some apps that I can't live without.
I know Blue Stacks might come out next year, but I'm looking for a solution now. I wish I could just throw an Android ROM on here.
Thanks guys!

I use bluestacks on my desktop and RDP to my tablet with it. That even preserves multitouch.
As far as remotely controlling a tablet, there's a VNC client ported over (go check the desktop apps thread in Dev & Hacking), and you can get a VNC server on Android.

yeah, you can use the TeamViewer to control your RT

Install VNC Server on your Android device:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.schumi.vncs
You can then use your IE browser to connect and control your Android device.
It's quite easy. I do it occasionally.

remote assistance app that controls android devices via windows?

i was wondering if theres anything such as windows-controlling-an-android remote assistance software?
reason why i ask this is because some people are not good with android and they keep asking me for help with it. instead of meeting them up in person I was wondering if its possible to control their android device from Windows?
get the android vnc app from the market
No results found... what's the app called exactly?
Isn't android-vnc something that controls your computer from your phone? Original post requests just the opposite: the ability to control someone's phone from his computer.
Teamviewer??
I any luck yet
I think the OP is looking for the opposite -- Remote support to control the Android device FROM a computer, not controlling a computer from Android
I'm looking for the same thing to help my family out. I currently use VNC and a custom script to do remote PC support.
Droid Explorer, but you need basic adb (android-sdk) installed, but it gives you full control of your phone. You can push apps, take screen shots, and everything inbetween
Search remote web desktop. There is a control addon that works very well, and all in a web interface. No adb necessary.

Webkey. Although it might be too powerful for what you need...
You can try AirDroid.

Sorry guys, i have bought a tablet for the grandma, and tried to help her many times over phone conversation. She has now the basic skills to the tablet, but as you know the android can be very embarrassing and surprising...
I really need a remote assistance software WITHOUT any rooting and other miserable solutions: just simply install and use.
I feel myself as a victim of a fascist raping. Do you guys or do the manufacturers really think, to help for a 70 years old lady is an extreme requirement?
The tablet: prestigio pmp7070c, fantastic hardware with the looser android. The winmo 6 would be far more better than this miserable android.

You'll have to piece the link together as I'm not yet allowed to post links on XDA.
It's not free. But this will work.

Remote desktop...... Buy differently wanted.

Trying to find an app that will let me remote desktop my tablet from my phone?
Is it even possible?
I was in bed last night and wanted to do something on my tablet, but it was downstairs, and I couldn't be arsed to get it, this is my main reason for it.
Thanks

You could try AirDroid.
Install on Tablet, then access via the browser on your phone...
There are 2 Apps:
RemoDroid
Tablet Remote
But both are pretty slow and worthless..
Tablet Remote is probably the better of the two, speed and reliability wise, but basic
Think both require root, but maybe just RemoDroid.. not sure...
You could also try Installing VNC Server on your Tablet, then a VNC Viewer on your phone..
Would probably work better the other way around since your Tablet is larger.
I'd give a try to a vnc, as it has already been suggested
Remote control the tablet from the phone.
This won't be a typical RDC setup. I love Jump desktop but it won't do this unless he sets up a RDC server.

By far the best in my experience is Teamviewer. A personal license is completely free with no ads, and it works great with both Windows 7 and 8. I do not own any Macs and I am not running Linux at the moment so I cannot speak for how well it works on those platforms, but I really recommend you give Teamviewer a try.

I guess that's for the best...
Two ways to do this...root and no root...
I was looking for the same to provide support to clients. There are two ways I've found to do this...
1) My Mobiler:
Not sure if ypu guys remember this from the good old WinMo days, but My Mobiler is now available for Android users for some time. Must be rooted and config is a little tricky on Samsung phones (easy on HTC and Moto), but once you get it working it's great for local control via USB or WiFi, or remote control via VPN or some other virtual network. Google it. Unfortunately you have to be rooted so not for everyone.
2) Teamviewer:
For Samsung devices only...no root required, free! One click install! Works great on GN2, GS3, and GN10.1 (those are the only three I tested, may work with others). Just go to the Play Store and search for Teamviewer Quicksupport. With free Teamviewer app on desktop or another Android device, any user with a compatible device can send you an invitation to allow you remote control desktop sharing of their device. According to Teamviewer, this only works on stock rom. I'm running stock MA7 rooted on my GN2 and it works great. Easy reliable connection, setup couldn't be simpler, and Android to Android remote control is great. And since no root is required, if you happen to buy a Samsung smartphone or tablet for your mom or dad, it's a great way to help them out when they call you for help!

[Q] ios app on nexus 7

So I swear I tried searching for this and looking through similar threads, but I've had no luck. I just bought a Nexus 7 tablet, and I use an android phone too. I greatly prefer android to ios, so I don't want to just get an ipad. But there is 1 app, only one, that I want that is only available on ios, so I'm stuck asking questions. I'm willing to root my device, or dual boot ios and android if I need to. I don't know if that's possible. Like I said, I tried searching for these answers first, but I'm not that experienced with mobile platforms so I wasn't able to figure it out. So basically, I just need to run a single ios app on android, or I need to find a way to boot ios on android, or I need to dual boot both OS on the tablet. And I don't know how to do any of those or if they are possible. The app I need is the Hero Lab Pathfinder Character Sheet app (the forums won't let new users post links).
If anyone can give any help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
It's not really possible. Since iOS is closed source, I don't think anyone has ever managed to dual boot it on an Android phone or run it in an Android device. Since iOS is a completely different OS platform, I don't think anyone has ever managed to get iOS apps running on an Android device. Your best bet is probably to try to convince the developer of your app to make one for Android.
Thanks. I feared that was the case. But it's good to get a straight answer. And yeah, I've contacted the developer already. They said they are working on it, but it's a low priority project and it could be up to a year before we hear about it.
Okay, new question then. What about emulating a Windows OS? Something small like WXP?
I think you could RDP or VNC into a Windows box or emulate a Linux box (or Splashtop or Teamviewer or whatever). I don't know of a way to emulate a Windows box.

[Q] creating zooper widgets on desktop?

i have been using zooper widget pro for a while now and i've been wondering if it's possible to create these widgets on a desktop for ease of configurations and so on? i searched for a thread on this but came up with people referring to the phone desktop not a desktop PC/mac/nix machine. possibly using android studio? i know that android studio is used to package your sets/widgets into apk format but it would help some of us who wish to develop more widgets for zooper if we could use the desktop for speed purposes.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

I searched for the very same thing. I don't think you can because in virtual environment you don't have access to the sensors of a device. I could be entirely wrong! But I've tried creating a virtualBox android and the app will not install on it.
But .. I'm assuming that you're wishing to do this because it gets cumbersome to just sit on the phone and do it. Correct? If this is the cause there are three options for you. One is paid the other two are free. The paid one is VMLite VNC Server and you run that on your phone and connect to your phone using any VNC client. The first free one is Mobizen for the phone part and the PC part you have to get the Mobizen beta PC client. And the second free option is WiFi Keyboard + Screen Capture, just read the description in the Play Store. The second is a bit tricky to set up. I had to play around with it for 20 or so minutes and have had the best luck being on USB with it although it will work WiFi.
I hope this gets you further to where you want to be!
Having saw this post and tried both methods I couldn't deal with the lag so I used another method. I made a tutorial about it here if either if you are still interested.
