[Q] Missing GApps after clean flashing MMuzzy - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

After clean flashing MMuzzyRom's 4/21 release to my VZW Galaxy Nexus WITH the 03012013 GApps, I am missing some apps like Gmail, Calendar, and Navigation to name a few. Play store and Google Music are there however. Is this normal? I can redownload from the Play store but wanted to know if there is a problem or not. Thanks.

Yes it's normal. i guess!! And if you want to check whether all the apps from gapps zip did installed or not, just open zip and check in system/apps and chek all the APKs in there.
P.S I don't have Play Music APK in my zip

I believe MMuzzy excludes any Google apps that can be found in the Play Store, or at least that's the case with his ROM on the N7. So yes, it's normal.

[Q] Google Play Store starts crashing while downloading

Yesterday, Google Play Store was working flawlessly.
Now, it opens, lists the apps updates and when I try to download, it crashes.
I'm with AOKP jb 4 in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250.
The version of gapps installed with the ROM was 20120726.
Some sites (like goo.im) released 20121011. It does not work either.
I'm flashing gapps and wiping the cache/dalvik each time.
Did you try to wipe market app data and reboot?

Yes. And the problem continues.
If I uninstall the updates, the problem continues.
What can I do now? Am I alone with this?
Force close it and then clear data... when it's done then Download from internet the latest Play Store and install it by replacing the old one..

How? Where do I download the .apk file? Sorry for the silly question...
I've downloaded from here -http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-google-play-apk-3-9-16/
And installed. The app opens and when I try to download it crashes...
Strange that it worked until yesterday...
The strange part: if I login in my PC I can load the Google Play Store and from "My apps" I am able to install new apps and also update the old ones...
What's going on? ???
Know what?
Today it simple disappeared and the apps updated regularly.
Seems that, yesterday, something went wrong in the communication with the Google Play and not in my phone.
I promise: I did nothing to solve (I'm sure I've restored a nandroid of few hours before it starts to happen).

Will I be able to download the new Google Play on an AOSP ROM?

I'm on an AOSP ROM, will I get the Google Play update or will I have to manually push it? Also does this mean there will be new GAPPS to flash..? Thanks!

There most likely will be an updated Gapps... I don't think they always push a new one on every update, but since this is a major update, I'd assume they'd push a new gapps.
And yes, Google Play has nothing to do with TW or anything Samsung or Sprint, so you will get the update notification when it becomes available.

If not (no new GAPPS) I could always remove the current Google Play, replace it with new Google Play APK (that I downloaded from Droid Life), set permissions and be gooodddd.... right??
EDIT: Where the heck is Google Play located? I can't seem to find it in system/apps so I can remove the old one and replace it with the new one.

Well, if there's not a new gapps released, you'll just install the old one and once you add your account you'll get the google play update notification (like it does when any of your apps get an update).
Personally, I'm going to just wait for the update (or the new gapps). But yes, you should be able to do exactly as you said (I'm assuming you're talking about the droid-life apk).

Yes. I can't seem to find Google Play Store in /system/apps though, so I can't replace the old one with the new one. Is Google Play Store not located in /system/apps? What would it be called? Thank you.

It is called phonesky.apk... but you should be able to just install it like any other application and it will overwrite the one currently there, worked for me at least... so no need to delete the old one and set permissions on the new one just click it once it's downloaded, press install and it will do its thing

[Q] How do I install CM 10.1 R2 and still have Google Play, Maps, etc?

I changed my Bell P930 from rooted ICS to CM 10.1 RC2 but quickly discovered it didn't include any Google apps. I really don't care about most of the Google apps, but I'd definitely like to have Google Play and Maps. I went to the Google Play website but didn't see Google Play as an option as an app to install. Additionally, I didn't find it as easy to add on accounts besides Exchange or email accounts. Is this just what you get or is there an easy way to make it a little bit more like the Android experience I'm used to?
In the meantime, I've restored my CWM backup. I'm not sure what I'm gaining by switching if I lose the ability to easily install apps on my smartphone or sync with my Gmail and FB accounts.
Hoping for a real JB release from LG/Bell but doubting that will ever come!
Thanks for your help.
Did you install the gapps files for CM10.1?

Thanks, I will give this a shot.
cyanogenmod comes with no bloatware so you have to install even google apps if you want them, the link is already there just being clear that it is normal for them not to be there and you are suposed to install them on first install but u dont need to reinstall when updating CM

Can't update ANY Google apps, Music, Gmail, etc

As the topic states.. Only seems to apply to Google apps. Keep getting the error:
"Package file not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again."
I'm running Tasks rom, FWIW. I doubt it's a rom issue unless Google apps are no longer playing nice with non stock roms(?)
Anyone else running into this?
I'm able to get around it by un-installing via TiBu, clearing permissions, and clearing Play Store data. But that is a PITA and I don't get any alerts that a Google app needs updating..
One more thing.. I also noticed that the icon for the Play store has changed to the multi colored arrow,
Rehash the Rom, but try using the gapps dl from goo instead of the ones linked in Task's op.

Google Play Services

So I rooted my phone because i wanted full control over it.
I know a bit about android and stuff because im an app developer. But I have ruined my phone because i wanted to go back to the old market. I dont like the new google play so i decided to delete everything associated with google play store. And i know google play services updates the store so i also uninstalled it. When i realized that i couldn't have the market, i decided to revert back to google play. But now all the apps are saying "google play services error" or it needs an update. I have downloaded the latest version off the web (i cant get the play store to work :/) But i have tried lots of versions of both google play and google play services. None work! Any tips? I might have deleted the marketupdater.apk or something. Not sure....
Any help appreciated!

Maybe flashing a matching gapps package with cache/dalvik wipe might help. Though not if your on stock. Though if on stock flashing your stock ROM again with just a cache wipe might help.
Only guessing here though. I'd usually just flash my whole system from fresh if I came across a problem like this because I'm OCD about things like that.
