Folder mount or use script manager and the galaxy note app 2 SD script. Beware. You will get some minor quirks you will need to fix. Like ringtone sounds getting lost or camera not knowing where to store images until you retick where.

Memory problem

When u look in the settings>storage I can see my phone and sd card storage. When I look in the phone storage through settings it shows a bunch if files that show up in root explorer as my sd card files. I don't see the same directories as my HTC phone had for storage. So /sdcard is my sd card. What directory is the phone storage under? Just / or?

Is the directory that root explorer pulls up by default the phone storage?
mnt/extsdcard is what I was looking for. Fyi if anyone needs it.

Is the way samsung name them which sucks but if you want to moved just files between sd card and internal, use the stock file manager the comes with TW

SD card is your internal memory and if you go to mnt SD cardext that's your external SD card

Hi I'm having problems with moving my apps from internal storage to my sd card seems titanium backup does it but the apps are still on my internal storage I also tried rOM Toolbox pro and same result I'm trying to figure out why my apps won't move to my sd card since my internal memory is being all used up I can't download more . Also the apps in the playstore don't work either

there is an app called "APP BACKUP AND RESTORE". Download this app on your old phone. Open the app and transfer all desired app onto your SD card. Next, install the same app on your new phone. there is and option to restore all apps from SD card to your new phone. I've done this and it took about 10-15 minutes (depending on how many apps you are trying to transfer). HOPE THIS HELPS

The newer Samsungs are different in how they handle the SD card. They have their 2 GB internal memory, and therefore see the 16 GB internal memory mistakenly as the "SD card". Your actual SD card is mounted as a different partition altogether.
Someone help me out with this, but I don't think the standard App2SD will work because of this design. Somewhere out there is a mod that allows you to fake swap your internal memory with your SD card, but I've never tried it. I don't run a lot of huge applications so I haven't run into the issue, just seen it around.
Hopefully some searching will help with what I mentioned above or someone else can chime in with more experience.

[Q] usb storage always full

hi, im newbie here.. my usb storage always say full.. i dont move any apps to sd card.. so how do i solve this?? somebody help me. . :crying:
Transfer the big files of your sd card to the external sd card, so you'll have more space on internal sd card.

Swap SD Card. Get an external SD, then put it in. Move all the files from the internal to external sd After that, go to /system and find build.prop. scroll down and find "Change 1 to enable swapping SD cards" and change the 0 to 1. Ensure the system using R/W before editing. Save and reboot.

Moving Apps to External SDCard??

I found an app that lets me "replace" my internal sdcard with my external
"Root External 2 Internal SD"
Directions are to move my Android folder to the external card and then run the app
I also found an app called "AppMgr III"
Are there any disadvantages to moving my external sdcard to the internal?
foldermount works better imho.......root to external on custom roms is a bit tricky
I ended up just moving the whole android folder over to the external. Then deleted the contents of the data and obb folders in the internal and reboot. All is well

Really need an app!
We really need an app that will do this easily. Or, google needs to make this function a part of the OS. It should be an option where to install the apps. imho

I've typically found apps to external sd to be unreliable and I also found from experience the more your external sd is used, the greater the drain on battery life. Throw media (music, photos, etc) on your external sd and any roms, backups to limit their impact on your internal sd and also to maintain good battery life.
I agree, moving apps to SD is not such a good idea. Maybe move only obb files from large games to SD card - you can use FolderMount to map SD card folders to internal storage. You can also use it to move i.e. GPS apps maps to SD card etc.
If you are running low on memory I recommend folder mount for moving things to sd card. A lot of people use the internal to external memory switch script but I've not tried that myself
