[ROM]Fission RC1 Droid Pro-Vanilla Generic Android-AOSP Like - Fission ROM Manager

A flashback to when ROM was first booted ... the good ol' days.
Please follow all install instructions exactly! We do not have SBF yet to recover bricked phones so you are installing the ROM at your own risk. Myself nor any team member of Team DeFuse will be responsible if you soft brick your phone.
The Pro version is still in RC stages and soon will be up to par with the Droid2, Droid2 Global and Droid X builds. I do not have device so counting on your input to bring this up to speed.
Thanks!

About Us & ROM:
The first generic Android platform for current and future Droid devices. We are a bunch of mad hackers, modders and developers that were not happy with the current model of Droids being "Blurred" so we began a mission to rid our devices from the blurriness of VZW Android systems. It started with a crazy idea of messing with the Droid2 SDK that has turned into a full fledge AOSP generic type of ROM. We have incorporated many features that were only seen in AOSP ROMs before this. Some of the features include Reboot in Power Menu, custom built Framework, vanilla Android GUI, totally blur free app folder and many more AOSP like features to come in the short term future.
Features:
True Vanilla ROM with generic Android feel, not themed to look line one. No blur apps...
Reboot in Power Menu.
Custom Framework - 10% battery increments with display percent number & without.
Overclock ready out of box.
Lots of free memory.
ROM has root and has been deodexed, and zip alligned.
Busybox installed and symlinks have been applied.
Clean base for you to customize how you like.
And many more...
Fission ROM Manager:
Fission ROM Manager (FRM) is a utility we developed to make modifying your Droid phones much easier. It was designed for the new Android user but also very useful for the more advanced user. You can download ROMs, themes, updates add ons and much more. Once your downloads are done you can install everything within Android. No need to go into recovery any more.

Themes:
Check Fission ROM Manager. Many themes are up.
Changelog:
2.4.2 -> 2.4.3
Removed Sound and Speach Recoder
Added new Sound Recorder that can be launched from App Draw
Added 10% Battery Display option to FRM. Will reset current theme back to Stock Fission.
2.4 -> 2.4.2
DX build gets new framework whcih should fix the random USB reboot when plugging in.
All previous fixes are now included
Latest Android Market
More Code Cleaning
Full version ROMs and Upgrades are available. Upgrade will only replace packages. It will not wipe app or framework folder.
No reason to wipe cache or data if coming from Fission ROM for either Full ROM or Upgrade.
2.2.1 -> 2.4
All Devices are now equal. Perform and look the same.
Framework improvements all around. Colors, placement of graphics...lots of little changes.
Almost all apps for each device have been rebuilt from source. Either from AOSP source or Moto source.
Each device now has device specific apps. Will help of future Blur add on. Many people been asking for many different Blur apps so there will be an add on Blur package. Blur package will be heavily modified Blur services and then each app will be an individual add on.
MMS menu compose graphic now fixed.
Phone mute fixed.
Rebuilt Moto Apps (MediaGallery, Cam and Music) are now standard. They work better and will help with Blur add on. Generic Android Apps will be available on FRM.
All devices now use Moto Multi-Touch keyboards. They are themed as Generic Android Keyboards.
More cleaning of code and tweaks...
Few other changes I can not think of right now
Small bug with Global ROM. If you need to activate, slide out keyboard and hit the number key you need to use.
No need to wipe data or cache if coming from previous Fission ROM; however the installer will wipe your system folder so back up any changes you have made to your system folder.
DO NOT USE 2.3.1 Themes. They will work but you will lose lots of changes. Themers are working hard now to update themes.
I must say these are the best Fission ROMs so far. Lots of love and hard work went into them.

Haha...expect a nice christmas present This was the very first build without having a device in hand.
I would not suggest it as daily ROM yet, was looking to for bug reports to see what needs to be fixed.
There's a system update that just came out yesterday. It would be great to include that in your next RC. For whatever reason, I can't install the update. I think it's because I'm running CWM recovery (Droid 2 bootstrapper).
EDIT: I'll be your tester for sure if you include the latest system update! It apparently improved the phone call quality and global GSM issues.
Here's the info:
Introduction
We are pleased to announce the new software update for DROID 2 Pro by Motorola. The software update by Motorola (Version.2.26.60.XT610.Verizon.en.US) includes numerous enhancements. Upgrade today for peak performance.
For more information on Motorola updates and product support, visit us at DROID PRO - Motorola, Inc. USA.
Who Can Use This Release
ALL Motorola DROID Pro users.
After downloading and installing the software release, you will notice:

Improved stability and performance.
User interface display now refreshes when user switches from GSM/UMTS communication to Global Mode.
Device now prepends 011 to Country Code to send SMS messages.
Global Mode no longer resets when connecting to a USB charger.
Visual Voice Mail now detects airplane mode while Wi-Fi is active.
Prompt return to full screen brightness after wake-up.
Upgraded Bluetooth firmware.
Improved interoperability with Microsoft Internet Application Gateway (IAG) configurations.
Device string format for Exchange changed to include device name and version number.
Upgrade to Google applications Release 7.
Other Improvements:
Improved audio during voice calls.
Reduced user interface lock-ups.

Hey guys,
Nice work. I put this on my Droid Pro and it works fairly well. Here are a few issues:
1. The right convenience key doesn't work. there was no option to set it to anything.
2. On the notification bar, the battery meter kept showing that it wasn't charging and periodically a second charger icon would appear, showing it charging.
3. The airplane mode icon would periodically appear, making me think I wasn't connected to the internet. I'm currently running on wireless and also roaming in Canada (all data and network are open as I have a Canada calling plan and int'l data plan).
4. The 3G Mobile Hotspot isn't there. This is a must-have for me and is the main reason I went back to stock.
Overall, the UI seems very snappy. I'm running Launcher Pro plus and it really flies on this ROM, much faster than on Stock.
Can't wait to see this baby improve over time.
Q: Does this include the latest system update? Just wondering as Android 2.2 is listed under Android Version, instead of 2.2.1.

Great. Looking forward to it.
Q: any way to build wpa_supplicant into it so it recognizes ad hoc networks?
Gents,
I'm based in the UK and on a business trip to the US a couple of weeks ago I got given a Verizon Droid Pro as a gift during the conference I was attending. It's completely useless in the UK at the minute as it won't let me use a UK SIM (seems locked to Verizon only, not much of a World phone then...)
And so I'm happy to use the device as a test device if that might help getting things un-Verizoned and eventually someone comes up with an unlock for the GSM radio so I can use it in the UK. This device is way faster than my Galaxy S and so I'd love to make it my main device (unless I brick it, that is )
Regards,
drfonz
Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year!!!
Sorry that the progress of this ROM has been so slow but I do not have a device to build with. However that will change today, found a good deal on a Pro from craigslist so hopefully the person comes through and meets up with me today. Once I have it the ROM should make it to final version pretty quickly.
Installed RC1 and patches this morning, and I must say it's nice to see a stock Android ROM, but there are quite a few glitches, graphical and otherwise. For example, I can't use the Market because it force closes when I try to download any apps!
This makes it tricky to install any support tools I might need to go back to the Motorola ROM to get back to a working system. Any ideas?
Cheers!
drfonz
Another thing that makes my problems worse is that I no longer seem to be able to side-load APKs into the phone as it gives me a fatal error every time I try. That means I can't install ANY apps, including Fission Rom Manager!
So I'm seriously stuck!
drfonz
You should be able to use the device anywhere but you'll have to pay roaming fees. You can call Verizon International support to get an unlock code which you input once you insert the new sim card.

I was reading about Fission and I'm curious. Are all Fission Roms AOSP vanilla?

Good Morning,
Did your craiglist purchase work out ?

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean?

hi guys, i see on all IT News that there is new storm comming! Android Jelly Bean!
Android 4.1 is the fastest and smoothest version of Android yet. We’ve made improvements throughout the platform and added great new features for users and developers. This document provides a glimpse of what's new for developers.
See the Android 4.1 APIs document for a detailed look at the new developer APIs: http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-4.1.html
Faster, Smoother, More Responsive
Android 4.1 is optimized to deliver Android's best performance and lowest touch latency, in an effortless, intuitive UI.
To ensure a consistent framerate, Android 4.1 extends vsync timing across all drawing and animation done by the Android framework. Everything runs in lockstep against a 16 millisecond vsync heartbeat — application rendering, touch events, screen composition, and display refresh — so frames don’t get ahead or behind.
Android 4.1 also adds triple buffering in the graphics pipeline, for more consistent rendering that makes everything feel smoother, from scrolling to paging and animations.
Android 4.1 reduces touch latency not only by synchronizing touch to vsync timing, but also by actually anticipating where your finger will be at the time of the screen refresh. This results in a more reactive and uniform touch response. In addition, after periods of inactivity, Android applies a CPU input boost at the next touch event, to make sure there’s no latency.
Tooling can help you get the absolute best performance out of your apps. Android 4.1 is designed to work with a new tool called systrace, which collects data directly from the Linux kernel to produce an overall picture of system activities. The data is represented as a group of vertically stacked time series graphs, to help isolate rendering interruptions and other issues. The tool is available now in the Android SDK (Tools R20 or higher) http://developer.android.com/tools/index.html
Enhanced Accessibility
New APIs for accessibility services let you handle gestures and manage accessibility focus as the user moves through the on-screen elements and navigation buttons using accessibility gestures, accessories, and other input. The Talkback system and explore-by-touch are redesigned to use accessibility focus for easier use and offer a complete set of APIs for developers.
Accessibility services can link their own tutorials into the Accessibility settings, to help users configure and use their services.
Apps that use standard View components inherit support for the new accessibility features automatically, without any changes in their code. Apps that use custom Views can use new accessibility node APIs to indicate the parts of the View that are of interest to accessibility services.
AND A LOT A LOT of other features according to Android Developer Community at: http://developer.android.com/about/versions/jelly-bean.html
I was wondering if i could inspire the HTC One X Developers, to be the first one's that this Jelly Bean OS will be developed for HTC One X coz i can't handle the Samsung Galaxy S3 Users with their mods, roms, n stuff.
I WANT TO SHOW THEM THAT WE ARE THE BEST!
Watch this wonderful video at: http://youtu.be/V5E5revikUU
There is already a port from GNex system dump. Also a Nexus 7 system dump was made available so let's see how it goes.

Still nothing OTA here.
Interestingly, this build is labeled as LS970ZVA, whereas
the build that was rolling out to some users in February
was LS970ZVB. We're guessing that other build was
slightly newer, and that for some reason the ZVA build was
chosen over ZVB for the wide rollout. Or Sprint made a typo
over at the Sprint Community Forums. The latter sounds a
little more plausible.
If you look at the changelog, there's actually a pretty big
item hidden in some technical jargon about vsync timing
and drawing by the Android framework - that's Project
Butter. Project Butter does not just automatically work
when a handset is upgraded to Jelly Bean. The OEM
actually has to go into its own software overlay and rewrite
portions of the code to take advantage of the Project Butter
improvements, and this is by no means required. So, not
every handset running Android 4.1 out there actually uses
Project Butter (COUGH HTC ONE X+ COUGH), but LG
apparently has chosen to do so on the Optimus G.
You should receive the update over the air in the next 10
days according to Sprint.
And now you are copying and pasting people from that thread...

Search new developer for CypherOS 4.1

CypherOS team push new crystal clean update rom 4.1 any chance to create this stuff for zukz2??
CypherOS 4.1 is finally here
A few months back we announced that we would reboot this project in a sense. That meant rebase all of our repositories and starting this project from scratch. We released builds to the community in the form of Beta updates, allowing users to test out the new form factor of this project and help fix any bugs encountered in the process. While the Beta process took longer than we expected, we're happy to say the time has finally come. We have reached a peak of stability and we're ready to start releasing official builds for all of our devices and more to come.
With Android O around the corner, and the project being forced to come to a small hiatus recently, we've decided to fix what we can release this project in it's current state, granted the helpful and positive feedback from the community. Luckily, we have a fully functional OTA system to provide updates across our supported devices for fixes and new features. While our OTA system maybe configured for Delta (Incremental) updates we have not configured it for build automation as of yet. This will come in a future release.
What's new?
We've rebased our work on top of CAF to ensure stabilty with all qualcomm devices. We are still considered an AOSP based rom, just with some CAF additions. Performance has increased by 30%, bugs in aoscp 3 are now squashed, and we took this opportunity to provide a stunning new interface,
to deliver that vanilla android experience. We've added back most of our selected features, with the rest to come in future updates. We've focused on polish and asthetics to give you a rich and minimal experience.
Luna Launcher
With Luna being rebased on the latest AOSP configuration, we've reworked this from scratch as well. We've added in a new interface to be similar to the infamous Pixel Launcher, backported the new Android O notification dot system and provided a stunning icon pack selection experience with abilities to modify the app label, thanks to Paranoid Android. We've always believed that roms should be more than just features in the settings menu, we want to give you some neat bells and whistles throughout the system itself. We've also added new wallpapers out of the box and a refined bootanimation, created by Some One
OTA Updates (COTA)
Throughout our 2 years of existence, we've always wanted to achieve the ability for incremental updates, small patches that apply neccessary fixes, reducing download times and bandwidth. There's only one system that has achieved this properly, OpenDelta. This system was created by Chainfire to supply what we've always wanted. We took the liberty to rewrite our OTA system from scratch on top of the OpenDelta system with updated fixes from +Max Weninger and the OmniRom Team. The system works, but unfortunately we must wait for our genius teammate +Aaron Nixon to automate the delta generation within our build system. So until then, full updates will push to your phone.
Key features
Here's some new key feature's we've added:
- Pie 3.0
- Immersive Mode
- OTS (On The Spot Controls)
- Pocket Lock
- Accidental Touch
- Gestures
- Button remapping
- Clock/Date Customizations
- Battery Customizations
- Feature Reset (Ability to reset OTS based features
- Color Engine
and a lot more. As many may know, we do not hold all of our features in one settings menu, we follow a stock like approach, meaning features are spread out in their appropriate categories. Features that don't have a home will be placed in our new Tuning menu. We also include optimizations for performance and battery life, such as Qualcomm's Boost Framework. A simple framework to boost CPU process in specific scenarios. Boost Framework is available for select devices that can support it such as our Oneplus lineup. More devices will support this in the future.
New devices
We're always looking to expand our roster and give everyone the awesome experience in aoscp. With that said, we've brought a few new devices to the family. These devices are:
- Lenovo ZUK Z1 Ham
- Moto Z Play Addison
- Moto G5 Plus Potter
- Oneplus 5 Cheeseburger
- Oneplus X Onyx
- Redmi Note 4 Mido
We've also dropped support for some devices, whether it be temporary or permanent.
LG G3 D855 - LS990
Redmi Note 3 Kenzo
Are dropped from our official roster. We hate to let these guys go, but they either generated issues out of our reach, or no longer had the community support to further continue development. If you wish to maintain these devices, submit the
application and we'll go from there.
Android O Plans?
We have huge plans for Android O! This will be announced soon in a separate post.
What are you waiting for?
Oh, the update.. right. You know the drill, devices are still building and uploading. Please allow up to 72 hours for your device to receive the update. There's so much more we want to tell, but it's better if you experience it yourself.

Does Android 11 good for daily use now ?

What do you guys think about android 11 right now ?
Still too early or fine for daily use now ?
What's the most annoying bug you found ?
In case someone can recommend me some rom that met my requirements. I just need some basic stuff.
Must have
- Call recording
- FPS info
- Built in firewall
- Home screen apps protect and hide
- Vanilla Build
Extra bonus points, nice to have / not so important but cool if they got these feature
- Clipboard notification toast
- Built in screen recorder
- Signature spoofing
- Wakelock blocker
I am not into modification, so no comment about those, just need some features above.
So far based on android 10, my fav rom that have these function
-Havoc OS
-Crdroid
-Nusantara
Still waiting those roms get stable android 11
Impressed by android 11 privacy features :highfive:
The best with all those features have Evolution ROM for Android 10. They released the first Android 11 ROM this month so far it's good but it's lacking a lot of features so it will take time maybe 3-4 months to get a good stable any ROM with Android 11.
