Tmobile Update - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Seeing as how the Sprint, Att, and Verizon S4 got tgere updates in consecutive days. We should be getting it tomorrow Apps to SD and wifi calling
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium

I really hope we do. But why are we last? I remember last year the S3 got the JB update from t mobile really quickly. I was on MetroPCS at the time (i know it sucks, but i needed unlimited everything).

I winder what were getting in the update it seems everyone got different stuff.

I mean the only way to get apps to sd is use a non tmobile rom. Tmobile roms are the only way to get wifi calling. See where im going with this?

Better be careful. I've heard Samsung is starting to lock the bootloader in the new firmwares.

Those s4 variants were also shipped with locked bootloaders.

In case you don't have it yet, call record. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344674 Verified working by a buddy of mine, I'm using a rom that already has call record.

Funny. Welcome to XDA.

...And no update. T-Mobile S3 got its 4.1 update weeks after Sprint got theirs.

Bout ready to say screw tmobile and jump over to Verizon. They always get there updates first.

I disagree here. I had an HTC thunderbolt before the S4 and it took them forever to get 4.0 eventhough every similar phone already had it on other carriers.

With all the custom ROMs out, really? A *lack* of an update is reason to switch carriers?
Obviously, I'm not putting enough weight on my ROM when picking a carrier.

And, we didn't get it. I chatted with t mobile and called them and they all said no updates around this time.

got mine today. Guy at Sprint store let me have it early. none of the Galaxy S II variants have locked bootloaders. The model number and kernel is different than the European ones so I assume someone will have to put out a US Sprint kernel with Superuser and busybox. Hopefully we can use ODIn ans superoneclick to root like the overseas ones.
I would root mine, but I need the EG30.md5 first so I can reflash it back.

Yea, should be in Q/A.
Anyway, have you tried to get a free unlock code from ATT?
Firsty, wrong section.
Secondly, search on xda or google for an answer to your question. Already too many threads on the internet.
Thirdly, if you are frustrated about AT&T charging you like crazy then switch providers.
Lastly, if you still have any concerns, read this post all over again.

Can we root or install roms on the GS3?

My Galaxy nexus just died. I dropped it and cannot read the sdcard inside it. I tried CWM recovery, and it gives me io errors when trying to flash it..
I have 3 options:
Repair, get the S3 or wait for the next nexus if it comes out on october 29th.
What would you guys suggest I do? I really love the Nexus brand because i get all the updates directly from Google.. I also love Android 4.1.2 and I know the S3 does not have it..

you need to slow down and not post until you realize where you are. the is XDA. a place where things in the mainstream are not. that being said. we have Android 4.1.2. unlike the rest in the mainstream that don't. so just take my advice and search around the forums before creating threads of your own.
The answer is Yes, I am currently on the Cyanogen 10 Nightlies ... Everything works great aside from some random screen artifacts in youtube and the overall very functional and worth the dabble.

Well, technically it's not out for AT&T or Verizon or TMO.
But it is officially out for Sprint now I think. Released a day or two ago from what I read.
But most or all of the GSIII's have 4.1.2 available via custom ROM installs.
Really? Your title can't be serious. 1. Your on XDA. 2. You made mention of CWM, so you know rooting. 3. One tab back leads you to all GS3 development - I'm assuming you found your nexus rooting info on here so you're well aware of how the site is organized.
Is it April 1st again? There's another thread asking about rooting tutorial.

you should return it and wait for the T-Mobile's LTE S3 version:

You should of went to radioshack then used the gs3 hspa model for a month until the lte one arrived. I'm a PC guy so I am not sure it is possible or not but you might be able to boot Linux from a liveCD and use ADB to root it that way. That is if you know how to use ADB/SDK. MintLinux and PuppyLinux are both pretty good versions to do that with.

I recommend installing Swipepad, fantastic app. It's basically a quick launcher for any app off any screen you're in.
If you wanna switch keyboards then Def go with SwiftKey Flow beta. The beta isn't on the play store tho. You have to download it off the SwiftKey website. Non root required btw. Just hit download then open the file. Nova Launcher is my favorite launcher. Battery Stats Plus and Pocket are nice apps also. Must have Flipboard as well.

Our current phones will not support LTE and would need to upgrade to the ones coming out here in the next couple months.
I see no reason to waste monies like that as HSPA+ is fine and won't be a hog on the battery.

Sprint G2

So I've been playing with the sprint version of the G2 for a few days now and once I'm able to put it on my account I'll be rooting it. One problem though... Picked one up at lunch today from a Sprint employee selling on CL. It wont connect to LTE at my house through my cell booster. S4 and Note2 had no problems connecting to LTE here. When I was in town earlier the G2 had no probs with LTE. I wonder what's different about it.

Funny you mention that, I just saw it connect to LTE for a split second. The odd thing is the eHrpd speeds are ridiculous compared to my note 2. 1.8mbps, i've never seen it that fast before. I was lucky to see 0.3mbps when it would switch to 3g on my Note 2.

Anyone having LTE B25 connection issues?
I called Best Buy this morning to see where my phone is, they said it should ship today... He then asked if I would be willing to go to the store and pick one up instead. I said Hell yes, so I just got my confirmation that it would be ready today. Nice customer service for a change!
