Thanks to the reply that given by you to the others...
There is an alternative way to achieve it by using root explorer or equivalent.
Go to /system/app and delete the chinese superuser apk
Place the superSU.apk inside the /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r--
(Last time I've tried to download and install the superSU from playstore and update the binary but the superSU seems doesn't work if it didn't placed as system app. But if works for your phone then congratz)

Sorry for late reply....I mostly active in the i9001 forum and recently busying with my college project...Here you go~
You are just lucky that I didn't deleted that apk during I clean up the bloatwares by Alcatel~
Since the apk is odexed maybe you need the odex file as well..(It is a compressed file, not a CWM flashable)

For your issue, I can't test it out because I've deleted the one touch manager apk file inside my phone. However, in order to root this phone we do not need the help of the one touch manager. We install it just because we want the driver that came with the package.
You just straight away use the Root Master to check for the phone driver status etc, if everything ok the button at the bottom right will turn green. Click on the green button to root it and you are good to go
Hope it helps. Cheers

Actual location for boot screen:
/custpack/JRD_custres/Bootanimation.zip and set permission rw-r--r--
Seems you not delete the "Thumb.db" inside the folder that cause that problem. recover firmware with Mobile Upgrade S.

That's cool. Thanks for the guide!

Easiest method now to root using Framaroot.apk.. Install apk & with 1 click you success root your device..

Thanx bro...keep it coming...
Just some questions though....they might seem a bit irrelevant...but i m a starter here...so...
1. If we wanna build a theme ourselves then how do we take out the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files from the device?
2. Will the process be similar in KPE and VillianROM?
3. And how the hell do u take those screenshots of ur phone
Actually i m currently running KPE (unrooted) but will shift to VillianROM in a day or two, so just wanna increase my knowledge here.
Thanx in advance.

While using some apps, it isn't possible to use that inbuilt technique as they quickly return back. In that case use Screenshot Capture Shortcut app, which doesn't even require rooting =) Enable Capture from notification option in it.

I DONT RECOMMEND THAT APP. "Screenshot Capture Shortcut". Or use it with utmost knowledge. It will kill your phone. I experienced frequent shutdown on my phone after i installed it (BEFORE). I tried to uninstall all my recent installed apps. but still my phone keeps on shutting down without me knowing. So i uninstalled "Screenshot Capture Shortcut" and my problem solved.
I know some workaround but it is a bit tiring. YOU NEED TO TURN OFF THE SERVICE (Screenshot Capture Shortcut) AFTER YOU TOOK THE SCREEN SHOOT. DO NOT LEAVE IT THERE IN THE NOTIFICATION. ELSE YOUR PHONE WILL SHUTDOWN WITHOUT NOTICE.
Beside, You dont have a problem with ROOT because villainROM1.0 is PRE-ROoted. you can install many screen capture apps (ROOTED OR UNROOTED REQUIRED)..
Only thing I noticed is that these Screen capture Apps in market wont work in GB. It will capture WRONG COLORS (INVERTED i guess).
Just take a try and you'll know what I mean.

About tutorial basically you just need to decompile > modify > build..
But I'll post it when I have free time (porting theme is easier than making tutorial )
Indonesia has many language. Even the official language itself have many variation. So google translate won't work

New Google Talk 1.3 with Voice & Video Chat Support

http://hotfile.com/dl/131101226/7660669/GoogleTalk.zip.html
I got it from HTC Ruby test firmware. The apk has proper Google signature.
It's still versioned 1.3 but I think it is newer than the one from http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip, because this one has more complete Chinese localization.

The stock android browser doesnt allow you to download unsupported files. This includes files like .zip, .rar etc. Instead you get download failed. As claimui said get the download all files app from the market.
Gtalk video working perfect on Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKI4 Android 2.3.5
Help plz? I am still unable to make this google talk version stick after reboot. I tried some of the methods here (I don't understand the changed permissions to rw-r-r method) and nothing makes it stick after reboot. My SGS2 reverts back to the old Google Talk.
Hi,
First thing first Make Sure You Have Root access. i believe you have already rooted your phone.
to check root access use Root Check Basic (get it from android market)
This is Manual installation of gtalk
You Need Root Explorer (File Manager) for changing the permissions of \system\lib folder from R/O to R/W to copy libtalk_jni.so the file in \system\lib. Backup Your existing Gtalk files with Titanium Backup or Astro file Manager.
Download the GoogleTalk2.zip from page 1 unzip
1. Take Backup for existing Gtlak.
2. Delete the old Talk.odex and talk.apk from \system\app
3. Download both files, install gtalk2.apk
4. copy libtalk_jni.so run root explorer go to \system\lib change folder permissions from (Mouned R/O) readonly to (Mount R/W) ReadWrite rename the existing libtalk_jni.so to oldlibtalk_jni.so now Paste the copied libtalk_jni.so earlier to \system\lib Reboot Your Phone and Cross Your Fingers
I have tested on Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKI4 Android 2.3.5, and front camera video with voice working fine .
Hope this will Help.
Try This
Hi there,
I am just a noob, but tried Criskelo's latest rom and gtalk video works out of the box. Also this rom is much more better than the sgs2 stock rom.

[How To][4.2.2][4.3][4.4.2] Use ZipThemer to flash your themes in stock firmwares !

Hi everybody
Since I learned how to use ZipThemer in order to change and apply mods with my Nexus 4, I've made a little How To, it might help some of you. ZipThemer is a very simple app that allows you to create theme files (.zip), ready to be flashed with your favorite custom recovery. It supports ZipThemer and Metamorph files and it is very easy to use so let's start!
As always, you make those changes at your own risks. I can't be responsible for any brick or death of your phone. Be sure to make a Nandroid Backup before any changes.!

Be sure to have :
- A Rooted Nexus 4 (or any smartphone)
- 5 minutes
- The .zip files of the update from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 that you can download here :
OR
- The .zip files of the update from 4.2.2 to 4.3 that you can download here :
OR
- The .zip files of the update from 4.4.1 to 4.4.2 that you can download here :
(be sure to know what version you're using, it's in red :laugh
- The theme you have choosen in a .zip file
0- If you're using a KitKat Rom and want to instal SoftKeys, go to that step that @bigwavedave25 showed us, else, continue to step 1
1- Begin by downloading Android App ZipThemer right there or directly from your phone.

2- Right after the installation, launch ZipThemer for the first time
3- A little window appears, asking you to Update Edify (the window is missing in the screenshot above because that's not the first time I launch Zipthemer.). For this, simply press the menu button and Update Edify
4- Press Browse in order to find and select the convenient file chosen in this thread above, that you have downloaded and copied in your phone. Then press Configure, wait a moment (few seconds) and then go back to the principal window by pressing your "Back" button.
5- Pick a theme you like in any website/forum and copy it to your cellphone, and then select it by pressing +Theme and choosing it in the file explorer (I use here a new lockring found in XDA). It appears now over the menu and, you can choose its destination with +Output and then press Build it!
6- ZipThemer is taking care of the file, usually not very long, and will notify you when it is done !
7- Flash your theme with your favorite Recovery (there are many How To to learn how to do it ) but don't forget to systematically Wipe Cache/Wipe Dalvik Cache (recommended !) and reboot your phone. You just have to enjoy the result!
If you have found that useful, don't forget the
button
Remove gradient..
So if I wanted to flash something that removes the gradient in settings/menus/etc, so it's all black, how would I do that?

Just change the background_holo_dark.png in framework-res.apk/res/drawable-nodpi to black.
I tried this method on my Gnex (you posted over on this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413582), but I still have the boring white stock softkeys. I downloaded the zip file from here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/eglqkhlw33clfhz/FQ7oMslrI8/Softkeys/Airbrush Blue and did the edify part, then configure. Then I did unzip part on a MMZT file. After that I went into recovery and flashed the new "update" zip file. Did I miss a step? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Nothing stopped working which is good, but not nothing changed either.
Which zip file did you use to 'Update Edify' ?
The zip file that was provided in the first post from the dropbox link. This one: de8b8d101614.signed-occam-JDQ39-from-JOP40D.de8b8d10.zip.

edit: I derped, move along.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Thanks alot man, I have added a link to my softkey thread!
I can't seem to download the zip file to update edify that's in the op. All I get is a photo of the box icon? I tried typing the link in my chrome browser myself but it says the page cannot be opened? Am I missing something?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I've just try with my nexus 4 and it work perfectly...
I'll reupload as soon as I go back from holidays.
This exactly what I needed. Big thanks mate! Very good job!
EDIT. I tried, but when I select the theme it says:
Can't find a theme control file in /storage/emulated/0 in Nameofmytheme.zip
Any ideas?
Yes, I think your .zip is already a theme file. Try to flash it directly
is there a place to get themes in .zip form? I cant find any.

Need ZipThemer. Also, most of the mods available in this section need this app
I am not really sure why in the instructions it says to use that zip file from his box.net account. You should be able to simply use the exisiting rom file that you are on to update edify, then follow the remainder of the steps to build a flashable zip. I personally used my nightly for linaro tackleberry rom to update edify and then built my zip worked great and no need to download an additional file for zipthemer.

Yes it is quite easy to update edify with a custom rom because they are all .zip files. When you're are stock, the rom files are .tar.gz (some kind of Linux) files. So I decided to test it with an update file (from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2) for the Nexus 4, which is the .zip file in the Box account (this Box account t is mine and I use it for all my Android files)
That's why the title of the thread shows it as a tutorial for stock rom
Sadly enough I get the following on CWM 6.0.3.1
"Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5.
Please switch to Edify scripting to create working update zip packages.

I followed all the steps. Didn't you specify "edify" in one of the steps then?
Any hint on how to bypass this or what I did wrong? (was trying to make a pokeball lockring )

I' ve never had such a message.I have to admit that I use the TWRP recovery and it works perfectly. Are you sure you used a N4 file and not a GNex file (i was guessing it was the same but i'm not sure)
Apart from that I've no idea, sorry

[GUIDE] Make FireOS looks and feel like normal android

Disclaimer:i am not responsible for any device crashes and rombricks - you act on your own responsibility
If you have Fire OS 3.6.8 installed please do not downgrade! It can make your device crashing and some other nasty things!
How to make your FirePhone look and act like a normal Android Smartphone
Hello,
you got an Amazon Fire Phone and you don't like the User Interface? No Problem, you can change it in the way you like.
The only little Problem is that the other FireOS I use is an English Version - but you can read this, you wil handle the Phone
When you downgrade your phone you can upgrade back easily with 3.6.2 Firmware image - it contains german, english, spanish etc.
You need some google Apps, please get them from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365224
Edit: You also can look at the bottom of this post for a download link!
1. Downgrade your Fire Phone to FireOS 3.5.0 (need for root access) (only Version below 3.6.8, see top)
a)Load and install FirePhone SDK https://s3.amazonaws.com/android-sdk-manager/redist/Fire_Phone.zip (On Win 8 and Up you may reboot your pc and enable unsigned drivers)
b)Enable developer mode on your Device (Settings->Device->GetInfoAboutYourFire->Tab several times on Serial Number etc) and choose USB Debugging
c)Now you have to download Android SDK (ADB Utility) More Information: http://galaxy-note-3.wonderhowto.co...-debug-bridge-adb-utility-windows-pc-0149131/
d)Download FireOS 3.5.0 from Amazon Server https://s3.amazonaws.com/fire-phone-updates/update-fire-phone-121_1.0.1_user_101012120.bin
e)open adb in command prompt and type: adb start-server
f)connect your phone to your pc
g)get devices by: adb devices -> when your device is shown you can continue | when not you may have to choose a driver in Device Manager
h)Boot phone into recovery by holding PWR + VOL UP or Type in adb console: adb reboot recovery
i)Now you have to sideload FireOS 3.5.0: type in adb console: adb sideload c:\YOURPATH\update.bin -> this will wipe & reboot your phone
j)When you successfully downgrade your Phone go to Settings->Application&ParentalControls->Prevent non-Amazon app installation
2. Make your Phone Root your Phone with towelroot https://towelroot.com/ - klick on the Logo, download, install and start the App -> klick 'make it ra1n'
a)When you successfully root your Phone you can go on with install some Apps you will need:
i)Disable all the **** like 3D effekts in Settings an install an App like SuperSU
ii)de.robv.android.xposed.installer (for the XPOSED Framework - Please open and install it)
iii)Some google apks: Google_Services_Framework, Google_Login_Service, Google_Play_services and HDXPosed-1.3 -> Please go to XPosed in your Apps and enable HDXPosed in Modules
iv)Restart your Phone
v)Install Vendig.apk and Google_Play_Store
vi)Restart your Phone -> Now you are able to use Google Play Store b)You dont like FireOS GUI? No Problem:
i)Install googlequicksearchbox and google launcher from Playstore (make this Apps system Apps with a tool like Titanium Backup and make the FireOS 'home' App to userapp)
ii)Reboot your Phone - Now you can choose your preferred Launcher and choose a background
iii)If you miss the Navbar on the bottom install: Ultimate Dynamic Navbar and enable it in XPosed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270198
iv)Customize it in the way you like!
If you want an other lockscreen i recommend SlideLock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631047
For the original settings App you may exchange your current settings.apk with Android4.22 settings.apk (this dont work completely) http://sourceforge.net/p/sreborn/code-0/53/tree/system/app/Settings.apk
congratulation your Phone looks and act like a normal android smartphone!
Edit: now you can go back to stock easily - take a look at fireos 3.6.2 image - it contains english, german, spanish etc.
Edit: download link for google services

OK, that's what i have too. Would like it to have persistent.
What i would like is a Original Android Keyboard. Tried the way, described in the other thread, with moving the Swype.apk away, and copying the new one, but it's crashing constantly (LatinIME.apk from CM 10.1.3, Nexus4)

Another trick: customize your bootloader gif
You need 'ROM Toolbox Lite' - thats it.
For example you can use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/themes-apps/bootanimation-joker-720x1280-t2177050
You can also Edit CPU Stats with Kernel Tweaker!

WETA is a rom for Music geeks like me, though because we are still waiting on TWRP to become available i'd thought i'd make these MODs to flash in the meantime.
How to install...
This method is redundant from V2.0 forward
1. Make sure you are on Stock firmware and have rooted device
2. Download mod zip
3. Install this app "Root Browser"
4. Extract the zip (click and hold, select extract) using Root Browser directly into Download folder. (you should have /sdcard/Download/(zip name) as folder with files in it)
5. Go into Download/(zip name) folder and select script for desired Emoji.
6. Tick "Execute script as root"
7. Then select the Execute button
8. It will say "Executing script"
9. Once complete you should have a popup box with no errrors.
10. Device will reboot automatically
V1
includes emoji from…

I tried running your script and it did not work. Well, it appeared to have worked, rebooted, but all the emoji's are the same (not iOS 10).
I'm contemplating on manually doing it, as I've replaced system files in the past.
Edit: Just moved the file manually and changed the permissions to RW-R-R and it worked like a charm. I don't think your script is moving the file correctly ?
Anyways, thanks for the font packs!

I did both of these things, but okay.
I re-read your instructions and it appears that you're assuming there will be a folder with the name of the zip file under Downloads with the scripts in it. I extracted the zip contents into downloads and it put the scripts in downloads, and the sys folder in there as well. Perhaps this is where the confusion is? I see your script has the following path: /sdcard/Download/WETA_Pixel_emoji/sys/ios10/fonts/, where the bolded folder is the difference. When I extract your zip to the Downloads folder, it doesn't create this folder automatically (perhaps your version of Root Browser is set to do this).
I'm sure this will help anyone in a similar situation.

Root browser is not root explorer. Root browser extracts to a folder of the same name as the zip. This is why I link the app also. All I'm trying to do is make it as simple as possible for people who don't even know what a script is. If root browser is not extracting to that named folder then I'm sorry I got it wrong. I don't want people misled by any of this. Please confirm what root app you are using
Use root browser peoples just like the OP stated.
