[Q] Rooting XPERIA S (6.2.B.0.200) using Easy Rooting Toolkit - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello DoomLord,
I am totally new to the concept of Rooting.I saw the new easy rooting toolkit which you introduced for rooting even locked Bootloaders.
And then I could see rooting for XPERIA S listed only for build 6.2.B.0.211.
Here is my Xperia S specifications:
Build : 6.2.B.0.200
Customization version : 1257 - 6926_R3H
I am from India and I didnt get an official update for 6.2.B.0.211 by SUS or PCC.
The Xperia s in its current build has a very bad battery draining issue which i cant tolerate.
Please let me know how to root my device? What next I am supposed to do?
Can I root the device with the above build and version? And will rooting help the battery issue?
PS: BOOTLOADER is LOCKED.

To root do 2 step..

The way @Mr. Khan suggest is right but i'm not sure if it works on .200 rom
yeah, maybe u need the .211 rom to have it working
to get .211 rom, i suggest u to use flashtool
if u dont know how to use flashtool, u may follow this guide
http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/05/30/install-jelly-bean-to-your-xperia-s-using-flashtool-tutorial/
BUT DONT USE THE "6.2.B.0.200_Global for Xperia S (LT26i)" ftf file there ofcoz
use this one instead http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=1672364621&uk=4011899110
(Click "下載(508.64M)" then the white"普通下載" button, ur download will now start)
this is the link for the .211 rom
To be simply, replace the .200 rom from the guide with the .211 rom in the scond link and it'll be fine

I didn't say it wont work for .200
i just say maybe
btw, upgrading to .211 does not hurt anyway
and seems .200 for xperia s isn't on the support list

Thank you guys for your help.
But I m gettin kinda confused here because of you guys posts...
@Mr. Khan----I did check the First Link you gave....But wen I clicked on the .200 firmware link...It showed me the following
Device Specific Information for Xperia S/Acro S
This has been tested on the following firmware:
Model: LT26i
FW: 6.2.B.0.211
Cust: 1257-8080
Model: LT26w
FW: 6.2.B.0.200
Cust: 1266-3278
This may be compatible with:
Model: LT26i
FW: 6.2.B.0.211
Cust: ANY!
Model: LT26w
FW: 6.2.B.0.200
Cust: ANY!
from v13 onwards this toolkit will work on all customizations and all variants of the device!!!
So Am I supposed to flash the .211 firmware first before rooting as KWOKSFUNG told?
Sorry, I just wanna be perfectly clear before going thru this.

thanks to Overlo4d for this tutorial
1) flash the 4.1.A.0.562 kernel http://www.mediafire.com/?twn09p8ekug46f7 (thanks to sathurnn)
note: you might get errors after the reboot, don't worry, this is normal and step 3 will fix that.
2) root your Arc/s with DooMLoRD's tool:

I would like to unlock my Acro and flash a custom ROM but there does not seem to be any custom ROMs that are very stable so I'm curious as to what this file is ?
Cheers, LL13-
Hi,
Plz before posting search.
- Stock, means that is the original ROM from Sony
- No brand, means there no modification from any provider
- .FTF, this type of file can be flashed with flashtools
So with this Rom you can't unSimLock your phone you have just the original rom from sony
I hope that help you

Hey i am getting an acro s very soon and was on the forums checking here. There seems to be no roms that are being developed that is good for the phone. Xperia S roms can work but you won't get the memory card to function. From what i have heard the phone performs excellent with the stock sony rom. Acro s isn't sold everywhere in the world that is why we might not see much custom roms for it.
Actually you hav 2 rom that are fully working for XPERIA ACRO S :
STOCK LT26w 6.1.A.2.50 Modded by Pims 83 that work with locked bootloader
or
Erachter ROM v5.1 but you need an unlocked Bootloader
that all for now

Yes, but be careful about flashing the baseband, or you might not be able to get a signal (happend to me when I flashed a Taiwanese Ftf onto my Acro HD). Either exclude the baseband, or have an ftf of a Docomo rom handy, and flash just the baseband from that if it doesn't work.
I'll give it a go then.
Thanks
I've installed it, worked perfectly. Then I got the message there was an update, so I installed that as well, no more connection to my provider.
Luckily I had a Docomo firmware at hand, flashed the Docoma baseband and now everything works perfectly without the Japanese apps on it.
Thanks.
Since I flashed this ROM, I can no longer enter flash mode to load another ROM with flash tool (I push vol down while connecting to the USB, it just starts charging)

I can't deal with "I think", you either have or you haven't, from the video link...
The 3-step process is as follows:
- flash 4.1.B.0.587
- flash an insecure (lower build) kernel
- root using the 2011 Xperia ICS Rooting Toolkit
- flash back the 4.1.B.0.587 kernel

There are a lot of reasons as to why rooting is great! Here's a google search
Main benefits include debloating your phone of useless apps that were once not removable, modding your phone with different features, and tweaking your phone to make it faster
good luck!

I recommend you flash the GB rom, since it is fast. ICS is laggy. I don't think the buyer would be satisfied if it lagged

Yes but then when the buyer connects the phone to a pc, it will prompt him to install pc companion. Then it will prompt him to install ICS. So then, he will have a choice . But if it came with ICS and he didn't like it, it will be harder to downgrade to GB in that case. So better flash the stock GB

I installed this firmware: Official ICS update Arc&Arc-S 4.1.B.0.431
And then relocked bootloader...
But now I have notification: system update available 4.1.B.0.587 , should I update or not? I read somewhere on xda that users were reporting bricked phones after OTA updates... because of unlocked bootloader (they said).. And I don't want that next user to click on it and then have a bricked phone, and I can't just hide the notification... if they do factory rest , the notification will pop up...
so now is it ok to update or not? or if you can link me to 4.1.B.0.587 firmware to install it...

I post a link to the general section where you can find it on the first page below the stickys and you come back with links from another site. I'm unable to help People who continue to demonstrate they're incapable of helping themselves, so you'll have to wait for someone with more patience to help.

[Q] Unable to root C6502 Ver 4.3 Build 10.4.B.0.569

Hello Expert,
I'm having trouble rooting my C6502 Ver 4.3 Build 10.4.B.0.569 but just to make sure of things, i've also re-imaged my laptop just to make sure that it isn't my laptop that's causing this.
I'm using DoomLoRD Rooting Kit v18 and I've also installed the ADB driver as per advised in previous threads
Driver obtained from h t t p : / / developer. sonymobile. com/ downloads/ drivers/ xperia-z-driver/
On my device, I've enabled the following;
Developer Options > USB Debugging - Checked
Security > Unknown Sources - Checked
Device is connected via USB cable and launched "runme_win" via administrator, just to make sure.
And the process stops at the following step (please refer attachment) and nothing happens after that
This working well with my Xperia J (ST26i) and i don't know what am i doing wrong here
Please advice

Hello, I am currently on 4.3 (I previously didn't know 4.3 is not supported by doomlord) and I tried to use the method you gave.
When I try to install the XZ dual recovery, apparently my kernel is not supported..
What should I do now? should I skip the XZ recovery and just flash the "C650X_10.4.B.0.569_Stripped.ftf" using flashtool?
Thanks
