Thanks for sharing but it didnt seem to bring the bass like it suppose to it sounds the same i messed with the settings also
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4

It's working great for me on stock de-odexed. I am able to use the DSP app to adjust equalizer settings, including bass. All my settings are sticking just fine too.
I'm assuming you might need to be on a de-odexed ROM for this to work. Can anyone else confirm?

Im on cm10.2 thats deodexed cause its a custom rom i dont have no bass like i do on my n4 with dsp

I think CM 10.2 already has its own DSP Manager built in its Rom.
Try manually pushing each files in the system folder of the zip to its corresponding destination.

I installed this on my stock unlocked rooted Nexus 7 2013 JSS15J and its working fantastic, thank you for this!

I guess u have to be on a deodexed. I flashed it on my odexed, its working fine, but without any effect or whatsoever on my sound output
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Just wanted to confirm that this is also working on stock/rooted/odexed JSS15Q (factory image). All sound adjustments are working for me.

Great work this.
The only (big !) flaw of the Nexus 7 (2013) is the very mediocre audio quality in my opinion. Very unnatural brassy (in dutch 'blikkerig') and al lot of distortion very quick. Tested on different (from cheap to expensive) headphones, amplifiers and PC speakers with 320kbps MP3, Flac, Avi, Mp4 and Mkv. The difference between my Galaxy S1 and the new Nexus concerning audio quality is almost like the difference between a Rolls Royce and a brick car like the Trawant.
However before adding the on my phone great working good old DSP to my Nex7/2 the next question. It is mentioned earlier in this topic the files of DSP.zip can be copied to the concerning folders on tab in stead of flashing. Is it also possible to delete those DSP-files and copy old files back to restore old situation?
The reason why I ask, is because I rooted my phone without installing custom recovery TWRP (just loaded not flashed it to only flash SuperSu) to keep the original stock-bootloader. So in the future I can still get official OTA-updates. In case of an OTA error due to DSP in system I hope to be able to revert (temporarily) back to situation before adding DSP on Nexus 7 Flo.
Off course best would be if someone knows for sure already what happens with OTA-compatibilty after adding stuff to root folder system/app.
Thanks in advance

The link doesn't work...

Thanks for this
Any reason that Dynamic Range Compression is not available for Speaker output? IMHO, this is exactly where it's needed — headphones, one would assume, would be where you want unprocessed audio...
Is there a setting or hack I can apply to make DRC an option for my speaker? (This is why I wanted this — my tablet speaker is horribly underperformant, so I wanted something that'd kick the bejeesus out of it )

S3 sgh 1747m
does the zip work for S3 Sgh 1747m? I tried before but I got a problem with my phone, it was going slowly, so I had to install Illusion 4.2.2 rom and lost my rom stock :9.

Here is a 4.3 ROM built from AOSP source designed to emulate what a Verizon 4.3 ROM would be like. The changes from AOSP include the addition of GAPPS, addition of Verizon apps, appropriate binaries so everything works, addition of busybox, correct eri.xml, home screen layout to mimic a stock ROM, and the removal of the tethering restriction. The ROM is not pre-rooted, so flash Chainfire's SuperSU if you want root.

No sure what causes this, but I've never seen it with this build or the previous developer preview build. Did it happen on first boot before you installed anything else?

I'd recommend a full factory reset, but people can try what they feel comfortable with. Personally, I did a factory reset, wiped both caches, and then flashed the ROM (with TWRP).

Do you have any on your sdcard partition in the Ringtones folder? If not, I'd check \system\media\audio path (subfolders for ringtones, alarms, etc). Delete any duplicates you find in there. I don't have any duplicates and there aren't any in the rom.zip I uploaded.
just overwrote mms.apk in system/apps to get the custom pink mms, and got a quick reboot to my boot screen, this never happened on 4.1 roms that weren't source, don't know if this is normal because i replaced the app and it was a one time thing (i hope). as far as going to system/media/ringtones, i see them but there arent any doubles, however theres doubles when i go to select a ringtone from the menu, for everything system related, ringtones and notifications.
What issues have people had? Any boot issues?
I replaced the "stock" keypress ogg files from ics/jelly bean that sound better with this 4.1.1 release, the new key click sounds are horrible. works fine. i used to have t-cdma 64 with any build from 4.1.1 there is a fix that works that ill just apply. its a xml file or something.

Great news for USB-DAC and AOSP ROM fans!!!

EDIT/UPDATE 2/28/13 for North American S3's (not sure about Euro S3):
CZ Eddie said:
For the 4.1.X AOSP ROM's, only LiquidSmooth and Xylon work. If you can find them anymore. All stock based/rooted ROM's work.
LiquidSmooth ROM never skips, it had flawless audio performance. But you lose the headphone jack on LiquidSmooth. And the 4.1.X Xylon ROM was a WIP ROM with various bugs.
The 4.1.2 LiquidSmooth ROM was fantastic. Never once had any cd-skipping type sounds. Sounded excellent and was a flawless, bug-free ROM. Perfect if you didn't need the headphone jack, which was the only issue. BUT, I can't find that ROM download anymore. I have a nandroid and if someone bugged the hell out of me, I might be talked into uploading it. But it was a nandroid from a dirty flash so I can't guarantee it will work perfectly.
Stock ROM's skip sometimes when initially connecting audio and also when taking calls or other events occur. Otherwise they work great.

ORIGINAL THREAD TEXT BELOW:
---------------------------------------------------------
I've got great news for USB-DAC and AOSP ROM fans!!!
While USB-DAC has always worked natively on the Touch-Wiz ROM's, it has never worked on AOSP. UNTIL NOW!
Here is a quick guide:
1) Go to DanBa's list of USB-DAC's and see if your DAC is listed as compatible. If it's not listed, it may not be compatible:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/595071/android-phones-and-usb-dacs/1440#post_9083315
2) Flash dg4prez's Liquidsmooth 4.2 ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080247
3) On your phone, open the "Developer Options" and enable "USB Debugging".
4) Also in Developer options, make sure to enable "ROOT" for both "APPs and ADB".
5) Flash the patch developed by Jack Norris (da MAN!).
Make sure to give ADB superuser permissions. It popped up on the phone and asked me for permission.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029728
6) Boom, you're done. Plug in that compatible USB-DAC and start listening to music!
Ufortunately,,, CM10.X and AOKP are not yet working.
Edit: Jack thinks he has figured out what's wrong with CyanogenMod and will release a patch for it soon.
.
This is rawkin news. Thanks for the quickstart guide, Eddie
Do I just flash the volume control zip code or follow the PC as well?
edit: Yeah, um, just flashing volume control patch kills call audio.
Sent from my SAMSUNG SGH-I747 using xda premium
Yeah, only flash the PC file.

Word to the wise(r than me): make sure your SD card isn't formatted as exFAT if you're coming from a TW ROM. You probably won't lose your data, but it will bork the formatting. You can restore by putting the SD card into a Windows computer SD card slot (with an adapter for most cases) and running from the command prompt:
cd c:\
chkdsk (drive letter: ) /f (without the parentheses)
I believe any AOSP-based ROM would garble the SD card each time you boot up. FAT32 is my preference...now.
...and LiquidSmooth has been shut down and thread locked, OP opened 'Carbon', looks similar on the surface, but won't be able to test any ROMs until tonight.

Just tried CarbonROM and it did not work for me with my typical USB-DAC setup.
I posted about it on the dev thread for that ROM. Hopefully the new Carbon team can figure out what they did to make it work in Liquid and apply that to Carbon.
So how exactly do I flash jacknorris's USB audio patch?
Do I only run the .exe file?
Or do I have to flash the Nexus 7 kernels he's included as well?
I'm a bit hesitant about flashing a different device's kernel onto mine
Thanks!

You only run his Windows based file patch. Nothing else. No kernel or volume or any other files.
But,,, there are no longer any ROM's that support USB-DAC since LiquidROM and Xylon all updated to 4.2.2. You would have to find the 4.2.1 LiquidSmooth ROM, which I can't find anymore.
Or just stick with a Samsung based ROM as these all support USB-DAC natively, without any patching required.
Was there ever a patch for CM (CyanogenMod) created?
I've been rocking 10.1/10.2 for a bit and would love to implement in my card dock.

UNOFFICIAL CM10.1 for Intl Optimus G (E975)

Hi everyone, at popular demand, here is the CM10.1 rom for E975.
What is working
Everything.
What is not working
You tell me.
Here are the repo needed for our devices :
https://github.com/TeamLGOG
Using google URL short link because our organization name is not a safe word. Not to say that I didn't choose the name.
Of course, you have to be rooted, to have bootloader unlocked and a working recovery to flash this custom rom. I will post a first rom soon, it will be really early alpha tho and bug reporting is welcome to make a good list of things to fix. Any help is also welcome.
DO NOT FLASH NEXUS 4 KERNEL MADE BY 3rd PARTY. THIS WILL MOSTLY PERMA BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
This is simply because people tend to use partition number and not by-name and our partition is different than nexus 4 ones. i.e. The rpm partition on our phone is the boot partition on nexus 4. So flashing a custom kernel will flash a boot.img in your rpm partition and then you are bricked. You have been warned.
Like usually, i can't be hold responsible if you damage your phone during any of the process described in this thread.

All the downloads will go here :
ribs.bbqdroid.org
(If a rom is labelled notouch or donotflash, i recommand you to not flash it.)
Gapps package :
http://goo.im/gapps
Modem :
There is a newer modem now available (From JB update. Houstonn and I extracted each of them and made flashable so you don't need to do the painful process of kdz only to get a new baseband)
MAKE SURE TO NOT FLASH KOREAN MODEM.
http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/modem
This require you to have TWRP or CWM already installed on your device. I recommand the former. On our device, this mainly mean you have rooted your phone and unlocked the bootloader.
Apparently, it seems these instruction where not clear enough. So I'll try to make them dumbproof. If you are not following these instruction and it doesnt work, dont expect support. It's like buying a cake mix where you only need to add milk and call the company saying their product is bull****, you added water and only got a brick. To add to this metaphor, Asking if it's because you used CWM instead of twrp or reverse is like saying : Did it didnt work because i used a fork instead of a whip to mix it ?
Download file in the download section.
Put the rom AND the gapps on your internal SDCard.
Reboot into recovery.
Flash CM rom.
Flash Gapps package.
DO A FACTORY RESET (EMPHASIS HERE)
reboot into system
First build uploaded. I see download but no feedback. Does it work ?
Will test it when ill be home.
10pm by korean time.
Hope everything works!
Andd thank you!
By the way is there any chances u can add support of korean dmb?
Cause both koreas is about nuke/bomb each other, so dmb is some kind of emergency notification radio.
use that build : http://ribs.bbqdroid.org/download.php?file=cm-10.1-20130411-WIFI-UNOFFICIAL-geehrc_intl.zip, it should have wifi fixed.
I will test it when ill back home too 8/9pm

Big thanks to aleksei74.
What i did:
1)Edited build.prop
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1
ro.telephony.default_network=8
ro.ril.def.preferred.network=8
ril.subscription.types=NV,RUIM
2)Factory reset. Actually that was what he adviced, and that didnt work lol.
3)So i moved to mobile network settings, changed the subscription from NV to RUIM/SIM
4)Reset
5)Profit
P.S. Im very happy today!
wow! I know what I will do this weekend!
Root and flash to CM 10.1 on my E975!! Cant thank you guys enough :highfive:
I loved the CM for E973 and I really hate to use the stock ROM at the time.. it so ugly, buggy, slower and uses way more battery (of my experince)
Nevermind, solved
By ghe way i believe there a bug with main camera, the scenery options doesnt work, and seems like instead of auto its set as a lamp or something like that. And u cant change it lol

I actually use the W6MP, i want widescreen photos - is that an option here?
@tim, on galaxy note it took alot of time to improve the camera.when 4.2.2 first hit the note, the camera was crappy.and samsung has alot of support from CM.Now,with lg, not so sure, there aren't many devs,so it will take time.Better fix the kernel and we can use 3rd party apps to take photos and videos.
@nick, yes, with lgcamera pro you can take widescreen photos.Besides,it has alot of features.you can try the free version before buy it.
@chad,if you ever need a guinea pig to test things, let me know .
Hi, Does this rom goes for the L-01E?
Chad,like i said,great job and thanks.
Some issues though:
1.dialer error, when i'm initiating a call,i get "call ended" message and the dialer exits almost instantly, but the call continues and it's shown on statusbar after 2-3 seconds.
2.when i open stock dialer,i get a fc on contacts.if i open contacts from app drawer,i don't have option to initiate call.
Btw,this happens with any dialer from playstore.
This is it for now, will report later.

?? No issues with calls at all for me.
Calls - works fine
Sms - works fine
Internet - works fine
Camera - limited to 8mpx, has problems with scenery/white balance
Sound - works fine
Just checked contacts, also works fine

Q&A for F240S V20C Kitkat on E980

Here's a Q&A thread for flashing and using the F240S20C LGViet ROM on the AT&T E980.
First off, I have not created any of these files, so props to those that did. Also, as always proceed at your own risk. If you find this thread useful, don't forget to Thank all those involved.
With that said, if you have an AT&T E980 and want to play with LG's Android 4.4.2 ahead of any possible AT&T release, now's your chance. Anything in this first post, I've used personally on my AT&T-branded LG Optimus G Pro (E980).
Requirements:
1. AT&T LG Optimus G Pro (E980)
2. Custom Recovery already installed OR a rooted ROM so you can run FreeGee (install it from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.shell.freegee_free Buy the donation version to support the devs! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.shell.freegee
3. ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51321268&postcount=45 (courtesy of LGViet and @fronz)
4. Kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51463463&postcount=136 (courtesy of @macmack)
5. Modified build.prop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51597314&postcount=109&nocache=1&z=5786785858217627 (courtesy of @Neroga)
Instructions:
1. Copy ROM and kernel to internal storage
1b. If you have a Custom Recovery already installed, jump to #3.
2. Run FreeGee and install TWRP
3. Boot into TWRP recovery.
4. Flash the ROM followed by the kernel
5. Wipe data/cache then reboot
6. If you care about the built-in weather widget, install/update the theme first before proceeding to the next step.
7. To fix in-call mic and audio and make additional adjustments to customize for the E980, replace the the build.prop. One method is to use TWRP's File Manager. Don't forget to set permissions correctly (chmod 644)
OP Changelog:
20140404: Updated build.prop link and added additional instruction in regards to the built-in weather widget
20140329: Revised ROM link to original post
20140329: Added clarification in terms of Custom Recovery or rooted ROM
20140329: Added fix for in-call mic and audio
20140329: Initial post
Notes:
When you are done, your phone will appear to be a LG-E980, with (LOTS! of) SK Telecom carrier-customizations, and TWRP recovery intact. LTE working. See Known Issues in next post.
Being a stock ROM, it is odexed and not rooted.
Rooting via TWRP appears to work.
The ROM has the 'pta' APN built-in. Theoretically it should give the same results as the 'phone' APN, but don't be afraid to add that APN if you want.
Carrier IQ is not detected by TrevE's Logging Checker. http://androidsecuritytest.com/features/
It is detected in all previous AT&T ROM releases (E98010g, E98010k, E98010p)
FYI, I went back to full stock E98010k, rooted, then updated OTA to E98010p. Then, followed the instructions in the OP. I've also started from E98010k, rooted, then followed instructions in the OP.
What's new?
QSlide "app bar" can be toggled off and on.
Lots of QSlide apps (Calculator, Calendar, Email, File Manager, Internet, Memo, Messaging, Phone, QVoice, TV*, Videos) *TV not useful on E980
Knockon Screen off feature: Double-tap status bar or empty area on LG Home screen to go to turn screen off
Known Issues
Speakerphone not working

For the call bug change persist.audio.handset.mic=digital
to
persist.audio.handset.mic=analog
For LTE (guess LTE still wont work without the *#*#4636#*#* menu) change
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
to
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1

Hope it's not too much to ask but would it be possible to compile all this into one flashable zip? I currently use madmacks hacked twrp (still the best) and I have the super user zip. I would just feel better with one zip file with the kernel and modified build prop in one.
Thoughts?

Would add also that our G Pro E980 has 32GB internal storage and the OS format the memory and makes visible only 16GB, to fix this enter to recovery, Mounts and Storage... Format/Data and /Data/Media (/SDCard).
This will format the internal memory, so take precautions, for safety, do these steps with your backed up data and without placing the external memory.
Great post @chp :good:
Does it work on E988?

Smooth and fast on my e980. Sadly no speaker phone. Lots of Korean bloat and scraps of Korean language in places like ringtones and in LG keyboard and dialer.
I flashed it without problems, but after about 5 minutes of running it consistently freezes or the touch screen becomes unresponsive.
Anyone else getting random txt from 129

[Q&A] [ROM] [4.4.4] [SM-T31X] SlimKat (unofficial)

Q&A for [ROM] [4.4.4] [SM-T31X] SlimKat (unofficial)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Hi,
I am using this ROM for a while now and I'm happy with it.
The only problem I have is Bluetooth audio streaming to a Bluetooth speaker.
It works perfect with version 7.8, but all other versions above I'm having problems with proper streaming.
Anyone else experience that?
Any ideas?
Waiz for.next.build. SlimRoms.merged a lot of upstream changes for Bluetooth now.

Thanks for your quick response.
Do you know about this problem? It's working very good with 7.8, but all other versions are really bad for Bluetooth.
Anyway, I wait until you compile and upload the next release, and then I give it a try.
Thanks to you and I really appreciate your work.

Slim ROM
I just wanted to answer a question regarding Slim Rom for galaxy Tab 3 8.0 not being able to root after flashing this ROM, you need to go to development and change root settings
What causes bad Bluetooth signal?
Newest Build
Hi,
i just installed Version 9 of this rom and it is actually very good and very fast.
I am just having the problem to create any folder on my homescreen.
If i move one icon over the other one it just jumps away.
Can anyone tell me how i can create a folder, to put some icons in there like for example a Systemfolder for all apps they have to do with system, or any other folder?
OK, finally i am able to geht some folders. But if i give them a name , i cant See für Name unless i open the folder.
And also the Name of the apps are gone.
Is that normal? Anyone have any idea?
Thanks.

Kies only works for unrooted stock roms.
If you want to backup contacts, sms etc. take avlook on My Phone Explorer.

The thing is I have made an backup of my device applications, contacts and all by using Samsung kies before flashing this slimkat 9 ROM. Now as I want to restore those apps, instead to download them all over again, I can't connect with kies.
So if you can give me some tips how to get those apps restored back on my tab, it would be a great help.
P.S - I love this ROM, my first custom ROM. Plz help
There is no way to get Kies work on custom roms.
Maybe google if there is a way to extract a kies backup.
