[Q] Sync Cable - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hopefully someone has a work around for this. I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and a MUVI NPNG Clip on camera. The Camera has a mini usb and hdmi port so I can plug it into a computer to get the video or photos. I purchased a cable off ebay that has the mini usb and the micro usb ends which allows me to plug the MUVI and Samsung Note 2 into each other. My hope was to be able to transfer the video from the camera to the Note so I may edit them without pulling and swapping micro sd cards (plus the memory issue putting the video directly onto my note which takes up all the internal memory). Does anyone know of an app or program I can download to allow this or another work around to make it work? Thanks

[Q] [10.1][8.9][7.7]Multi Accesory Solution for Galaxy Tab

Hello Everyone,
As everyone know our beloved Galaxy Tab only have one port, that is used for HDMI, Charging, and USB functions.
I was wondering, is there some kind of adapter(s) that let me connect my tab to my HDMI TV, while accesing some USB memory stick and charging at the same time?
I'm looking forward for this solution because I want to connect an external hard drive to see some videos on my TV while charging the Tab.
In worst case, at least connect my tab to the TV and access the external USB hard drive.
Thanks in advanced.
The closest thing to a multiple accessory solution for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that I could find is this SD-card and USB adapter. I am also hunting for a something that will do HDMI/USB/SD card in one attachment.
I'm trying to build sleeker external storage by combining the official USB adapter with either a tiny 16GB flash drive or a tiny USB microSD card reader combined with a 16GB microSD card.
Has anyone used this combination, or something similar, with the 10.1?
I saw the Official HDMI adapter for galaxy tab 10.1 8.9 7.7 , it has an extra port for charging (in fact, it only works while charging) , if we could find a USB Hub that can charge the tab at the same time, maybe it could work.
If there's interest in a DIY solution I might be able to cook up a quick PCB that would fit in an Altoids tin to do it. I'd be glad to release it on BatchPCB (http://batchpcb.com) or package it up for a FusionPCB run at SeeedStudios as an open source design with a digikey/mouser/arrow BOM if there's a preference.

[Q] Can I transfer photos from camera to GNex?

Can I transfer photos from my camera to a Nexus over USB?
When I search I find lots about transferring pictures from the Nexus to a computer, but nothing about camera to GNex, so I'm probably missing some obvious search term. I don't yet have the phone so I can't test.
Of course you can.
Just find a mini to micro USB cable and plug into camera and Nexus?
thanks
There seem to be apps to view RAW files (nef, cr2, etc.), so I take it there's no native support?

Aha!
Are there micro usb to mini usb otg cables? The closest I can find is micro male to standard usb female ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Data-Cable-...ccessories&hash=item43b0e7fd2f#ht_3011wt_1066 ), to which I'd attach a mini to standard USB cable
Root phone and get stickmount
voilĂ
I would find a right angle micro usb otg cable. And I haven't seen an otg cable that had a mini out on from the micro side

[Q] Note 1 OTG cable work on Note 2?

Just recently bought a Note 2 (GT-N7100 international version), and it's marvelous.
I just spent an hour searching this forum and can't find anything that addresses my question. It may be buried in here but never came up in my searches.
I have a bunch of OTG cables that I used with my Note 1 to read flash drives. When I plug in one of those OTG cables to my Note 2, it shows the cable being connected, but when I plug in a flash drive it doesn't show up anywhere. I tried many different flash drives with various amounts of data on them, but no joy.
I'm presuming that the Note 1 OTG cables won't work on the Note 2, but would like one of the wizards to confirm this before I include the cables in the Note 1 package that I'm getting ready to put on eBay.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
hey buddy it works, first time when you connect the cable and pen drive wait a minute and then restart your galaxy note 2 and then again connect the cable along with the same pen drive...
Genius! Worked like a champ. I never thought of that, and the Note 2 manual says nothing about that.
Thanks.
There is only one samsung otg cable which works with s2, note, s3, note 2. There are hdmi adapter different for s2, note and for s3 and note2
I've never needed the HDMI adapter, but that's good to know.
Thanks.
you can use an old mhl/hdmi with a note2, just buy a 11pin to 5 pin adapter off ebay for $3
if you get the metal adapter you can open it and use it to get access to the other pins too for modding..

Well, the obvious answer is that the cable is not the correct one. Was it in OEM Samsung packaging? Or did the seller claim that it works on SIII/Note 2? Lots of cables fit and will charge, but don't work for OTG because of the pin structure on the cable.

Have you try to check if the Power Saving Mode is enable? Try to disable it because the flash drive needs power to work. This is based on my experienced with my Note 2. I cannot get it to work at first and I found the culprit is the Power Saving Mode. So when I tried to disable it, then it reads my flash drive. Hope it helps..
Pen drive filesystem
What about the disk format? I have heard that only FAT and FAT32 partition are readable from OTG and not NTFS. Is it true?
I'm not sure whether that's right or not, but every file system should work with this app: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.mounter

[Q] Micro Usb to Hdmi on Note 8

Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody has found a usb to hdmi cable/adapter that works with the note 8. I want to be able to connect it to my tv to watch movies. I tried connecting my Samsung phone usb to my note and it isn't a good fit. Is the micro port on the note 8 different than a standard micro usb? Thanks for your help. Not sure if it matters, but I am in Canada.
I have tried 5 pin and it does not work so I think 11 pin (the one that work with note 2 / s3) will probably work.

The 11 pin version works. I own one.(the one for the galaxy s3)
A normal 5 pins otg cable also works. In case you wanted to buy that one also.
Best regards,
Niels

The Note 2 Galaxy S3 and after use a 11 pin adaptor. Those work with the Note 8 ( I have one). You can buy a 5 to 11 pin Micro usb adaptor on Amazon.
Today I found a new type adapter by Samsung in a store: White, rated 1080p 60 fps. It has the longer, 11 pins connector. I think it is a proprietary one, based on micro USB. The black HDTV adapter for the SIII uses the same connector. That one has no rating on the box, so I guess that one is only 720p. Both are recognised by my Note 8.0 (it beeps). But I haven't had the chance yet to test them on an actual TV set.

Biggest Flash drive?

I have the Samsung galaxy tab s 10.5 and I would like to know if a 256g flash drive will work? I watch movies and TV shows on the go, 64g is not enough (the Simpsons season 1 - 25 needs about 100g) I don't have a computer anymore just my tablet. I bought the seagate wireless plus 1tb and I couldn't get it to work, don't want to order a 256g flash drive and have same trouble. Any help would be great
Sorry no I am not rooted and due to the fact that I use my Samsung allshare cast hub daily and root items can't use the hub
Anyone?
Don't you mean SD card.? Some people say the highest you can go is 64 or 128gb
128 GB is the highest you can go

He probably means OTG cable with a hard drive. Simple drives tend to work the larger drives need more power to work via USB.

There is an available of cable that's a "y".....one leg is the USB and the other is another female micro USB for your charging cable. Can't remember where on ebay I got mine but it does work for my external hard drives with my GS5
128gb sd card is not big enough so I thought k would try a 256gb OTG flash drive. Has anyone tested?

This question left me extremely curious, so I have just purchased an OTG cable which will arrive in a few days. I will test out a few different EXT HDD sizes and post what the maximum my OTG will allow.
I do however forsee an increase in the discharge of the battery for larger storage devices, but we shall see.
Can't wait to see what u find
I'm gonna buy a sandisk ultra 64gb microUSB otg and I was looking for a bigger one but this must be the biggest one they have, can't wait to test it out. What I'll do is if my shows or movies won't fit I'm gonna have to erase the ones I've seen then try to make them fit. I suggest you get a 128gb micro SD card plus a big sized flash drive then you should be okay.

So I bought an OTG cable off ebay, and it arrived. I didn't change the format of any of my external drives as I don't have the space to store anything currently anywhere else. The tablet registers there is a drive connected however it can't mount the storage device due to an unknown format. The externals I tried were 2 portables (1x 500Gb usb2.0 and 1x 1Tb usb 3.0) and 2 desktops (1x 1.5Tb and 1x 1Tb both usb 2.0). Over the next few days I will attempt to reformat the 500 Gb and 1Tb portables, and the 1Tb desktop and see if that produces any results. Due to work constraints this may take a few days, so thank you for patience. Results will be posted as soon as possible. Current format of all the externals is default NTFS.
Another Option
There's another option in which would require multiple devices unfortunately due to the limited storage. Its a product I currently use myself called "Toshiba Duo 2 in 1.
http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/...flash-drive-toduo64grd?searchTerm=Toshina Duo
Unfortunately I am still working on my other drives. There's is a lot of moving data around (limited to USB 2.0 speeds), so please keep posted on my other externals.
