Trade In - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Just a quick question. Is it possible to trade in my current phone (HTC DROID DNA) and pay the difference to get the HTC ONE?

Yes go on their website and look it up the max they will pay is $129 for the HTC droid DNA, I personally feel it's not worth doing since I had to pay $220 to repair it through htc

So if I trade it in for $129, and the HTC One is $199, I would have to pay a difference of $70? Is there any additional costs?

Yes Verizon likes to charge you $30 as an upgrade fee. Also any taxes that applicable to your state

Is it worth it?

I would honestly sell via Swappa or Craigslist. More money although you have to be willing to ship/set up time to meet with people in safe places.

You're probably not upgrade eligible then, right? So then you'd be paying full retail for the HTC One ($600).

Honestly I'd keep the DNA. This phone is already locked down and everything is dev ready on the DNA. Not a big enough difference in the phones for dealing with the wait and hassle. Wait it out and see what development comes to this. They have been working on S-Off for hboot 1.54 for quite some time now, and I don't see it changing any time soon.
Keep the DNA and enjoy your freedoms.

That $799 off contract is just... wrong. And the Nexus Prime thing is an obvious placeholder. Why not take the magazine and give a pic to us?
LMAO @ the $799. that's why i don't do business with verizon. the big red are crooks and a half. and then some. and what's sad is people are being robbed willingly.
$799?! Ouch! I was going to wait until Best Buy or other US vendors get the GSM/HSPA+ version. But I may as well get one for $700 at Handtec right now.

I believe the $799 pricing is unsubsidized. It also says the rezound is $799 off contract which we know from vzw it is $649.99.

Edit: ^ beat me to it
The 799 is the best buy price. It's always been that high for a non-contracted phone. To give you an example: Sprint has the EPIC 4G TOUCH S2 for $499 while best buy charges $699. But their subsidized pricing matches all carriers. and they even price match against all carriers.
$799.
wtf
Interesting. As long as it comes out before January 25th

[Q] is Tmobile SGS2 worth it?

Walmart don't have it and I ain't doing any online retailer. Anybody that's paid the up front $289 think it's worth it?
Yes.
10chars
I paid $529 up front cuz I didnt want contract. This BEAST is worth every penny! Just need to root this baby to unlock its full potential.
I personally didn't see an omfg difference from my hd2 really. If anything, the most noticeable difference will stem from browsing and that is likely due to the increased sinternet speeds than CPU speeds. If you have a 1ghz device already, I say hold on till the summer. 2ghz phones and ICS are on their way already. I consider these phones to be stepping stones that is IF you can wait
yes

"FREE" causes a lot of issues with a lot of consumers, mostly with expectations. Plus, the "freebie hunter" crowds, the kind that will bring 50 coupons to the grocery checkout aisle and buy groupons to places that they already go to every week (and are cheap to begin with) are horrible customers.
Just adding the penny makes a world of difference.

Yes. You're entitled to return your device if you're not satisfied with it within a particular period.
Just make sure that they cancel your contract as well.
Amazon has been pretty nice with their return policy, I have returned items that doesn't have issues but I wasn't happy with. I just wrap up everything neatly as possible and usually get full refund minus shipping.
I know there are many people on contract, but for me I wouldn't even pay 1 cent and enter two years contracts. You have to pay double ETF if you need to change carrier, one to Amazon and one to the Carrier.
Early Termination Fee (ETF)
If I terminate this Agreement before the end of my Commitment, I will pay an ETF of up to $325 if purchasing certain specified Equipment (e.g., Smartphones) OR up to $150 for other Equipment for each tel. no. associated with my service as indicated in the Terms of Service.

New TMo Zero Down Promo

Not bad...Starts tomorrow for a limited time
http://www.dailytech.com/TMobiles+Z...Smartphones+Starting+July+27/article33052.htm
I love you t-mobile
YOU KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2NYT8uV_VQ
No zero down mean you don't need to pay for it now. So instead of making you have down payment right now they put that payment toward the monthly payment plan.
Say you want S4, instead of 150 down and 20x24 totaling 630, you pay 0 down and 25x24 total of 600. $30 saving. Not bad. .
But phone like HTC one, you'll be paying 0 down and 25x24 total 600 instead of 80 down (Web)and 20x24 total of 560 normally. Cost you $40 more.
Over all tmobile is being aggressive lately. .

That's annoying as hell.
I just talked to a Loyalty rep this afternoon to change plans and waive fees, who told me about this promotion. I asked him three separate times if the lack of down payment came back on the back end, by either increasing monthly payments or adding months, and every time he told me, No, it's $20 for 24 months.
I'm getting my Note II tomorrow, and I guess I'll see what happens with my next bill.

Also depends on which state you're in. I'm in California so I pay tax on the full retail price of the phone. Oregon I believe pays no tax. Just really all depends on the state

I switched from sprint a wk ago and went in this morning and was refunded $150 for one s4 and $150 bill credit for another. Also u have to b in the "A or B" credit bracket in order to qualify for the zero down. And for each line u open there is still a $50 charge for taxes. So 4 lines is $200 plus $10 per sim kit (new costomers).
I think thats about right.

Yes you do pay extra on the back end for it being no money down, but a lot of people do not want to pay a dime upfront so for them, this is good.

I recently purchased a blue HTC One at Best Buy the other day. Had them on sale for $49.99 with new 2-year agreement. What I did was add a new line to get it at that price. Going to sell my S4 and then canceling the old line and paying the ETF with what I get for the S4. I'm midway through previous contract on old line, so the fee should only be about $230. Only thing that sucks, is that I have to tell everyone I know I have a new #. I could probably switch the numbers on the phones, but ETF would higher canceling the new line. Plus I don't think they would let me get away without paying some kind of fee if I canceled the new line because I got a brand new phone out of it. Anyhow, paying ~$300 for a new HTC One this way is a lot better than paying upwards of $600-$700 IMO.
