Hey blackwing182, if you have time, could you please port over sk8's latest recovery. He fixed up the custom zip maker and added a few other features which makes it nice. The latest version as of today is v14.4.5. I appreciate it. :fingers-crossed:

I've never had any of those issues. I've been on Sk8erwitskil's recovery since tdj first recommended way back when. Sounds like seriously bad downloads on your end.

1- you are a bad at fixing phones, 2- this recovery was tested before pushing it the hercules users, 3- did you think that a recovery can brick a new samsung device? Please go elsewere, and try to **** up a customer charging it for something that never happen, shame on you and shame on your excuses.
No one.complained about it until now, all my tester gived me great feed back and they PM me about a new update. Heading up to a xda mod, i want this thread clean of garbage like you.

The Hercules 4.1.2 leak has not been leaked. So far all kernels and ROMs that claim to be 4.1.2 official are based off Skyrocket. Until we get our leak Skyrocket is our only hope.

any bug reports or screenies smiled upon
please report if GUI is working

Welp, here goes nothing!
**Edit: and nothing she went. Black screen after initial Samsung logo nothing after that. Let sit while I showered and still unresponsive after I came back. Its a shame, was really excited to try this but for me it is not working.
Why was this rom released to the public? It's barely an alpha release.

are you on a CM10.1 kernel YOU MUST HAVE A JB KERNEL and blackscreening is a issue (not my code that broke it) though you should be able to use ADB and wipe everything which is needed so do that

Really helpful comments...but seriously in an open minded context that's a valid question. He could have been asking what order do the two zips get flashed in, does he wipe system and data then flash etc and etc. Not to mention there is talk in comments about wiping through ADB which I'm pretty sure 90% of the ROM downloaders do just that, flash ROMs and know nothing more or know how to use ADB or even know what it really is. Sure a quick Google search van help but over all the common ROM junkie just downloads nothing more.
Also using the adb method I got past the Samsung logo with a white flash then black screen. Will try again later.
it's for developers it's a developer preview no order and i didn't say to wipe (which i should of sorry for being a a$$hole)

I flashed and got it to work like yousaid no data or wifi i just wander after it installs if i could flash a modem if it would do anyhting.

Please go to "settings/more/about device" and check the build number and the baseband version. They should be the same version.
If they are not the same, that is what is causing the "prevention notification" you are getting. Most likely the result of going from a Tmobile Rom to this MetroPCS Rom. They each have different basebands. There are two possible fixes I've read about.
The first is the easiest, just flash the Tmobile rom you were using before. That should take care of the wifi and "prevention notification" and different baseband issues. This means you cant use this rom though.
The second is more time consuming but if you really want to get this metroPCS Rom running this is what you need to do:
Go to this thread Unofficial M919NUVUAMF2 Working!!!! and follow the directions to return the phone back to MetroPCS 100% stock via Odin.
Then install the recovery of your choice, OUDHS, TWRP, CWM, whatever you prefer.
Then flash this Rom again.
Let me know how it works out.

Thanks for your help and you are absolutely correct! Unfortunately there's no radio zip to flash for our phone and I have yet to make one. I'm no dev, I just follow directions reasonably well. I have yet to find a guide to make a flash-able radio zip and honestly, I'm working on something else at the moment, so I haven't really looked. For now, the fix I gave is the only fix for this issue. In the future that will probably change. Thanks again for your assistance

Hi Robcop,
Tmobile TWRP is what I use too, though there are versions that dont work properly for our phone.
Version 2.5.0.2 is definitely working for our phone.

strange things are happening
I never had this problem before, I have downloaded the zip 4 times thinking I did something wrong with the process as simple as it is .lol
Used the stock my files app to copy the zip to the 64gb external sd card and even this last time I created a couple folders and put it in there although when I boot to recovery and factory reset then chose zip fromexternal sd card its not there and whats weird even more is I see an older file that I have deleted several times back again, its the root_zip I used with odin to originally root the device. Crazy huh I think the sd card must be damaged.
Description says it all. I'm willing to do some building cause i got one. just pertinent information about the device and a buddy is all I'll need. Thanks for reading if that's all you do.

It doesn't look like much can be done until we get recovery.
I've built a stock, debloated, deodexed rom but cant test without recovery.
I've tried to compile recovery but I am afraid it's beyond my expertise.
Let me know if I can help
I spent my free time arguing today didn't even see your reply til now. I'll see what's up tomorrow before work though and I believe a rom can be flashed via stock recovery if done right. .. Maybe I think I read somewhere we can sideload? Worth investigation if you have a rom to test yaknow but use caution

Stock recovery has sideload but I tried the rom with no luck. I did the update via sideload on my good phone (regretting it now) and it worked.
maybe because its signed by samsung.

Yeah there's another step and I think that's the updater script that has to be altered to mimic Samsung or ported to your rom but I am just throwing you ideas for now. Hope it helps

Wishful thinking from a non-developer:
- debloated AOSP
- deodexed
- overclocking
- fast charge
- mount as usb storage
- cwm recovery
While all of these things are what I'd love to see, fast charge is a big one. I use my phone as a GPS navigator on my motorcycle, powered via USB outlet. I'm not sure about this model but my PRIOR phones would lose battery power faster than the usb outlet would charge. Fast charge settings options would remedy this.
I've never built a rom. I think it's time I read up and learn why I don't have what it takes to build one hahaha.

I've been in frequent contact with justlovejoy over the last few days and we have been working diligently to get everything needed together. We are working on it and one or both of us will give updates as they become available.

If by "New" you mean some super meaningful "OMGOSH We're almost there!" type update... No.
All I can really say is that we are still working on it. I believe justlove and I are going to be a pretty good team, we are in daily contact with each other and are working as hard as we can given the circumstances.
I know this is going to sound like normal dev bull s**t but please try to be patient and I'll let you know when we reach certain milestones.

Thanks for what you are doing anyways! I'll be waiting. Until such time as an i435 root is done, I'll hang around this thread and help wherever I can.

So i am coming to hate this phone's lack of mods and roms

What ROM you on right now? I would love to try out SACs Sprint S6 Edge ROM, but I'm scared to bc of not having a recovery and being able to do a nandroid haha.

Just got my S6 from Sprint today I take it it is still in new development phases for ROMS??? Sorry I have been out of touch and on that I word crap for the last year........
I am running Sacs with the ktoonz kernel. No issues as of yet. Native hotspot...knox removed....good stuff...

Mine did, but that was my choice. Used TWRP and just flashed the "old school" way. But have seen reports of people flashing this ROM with flashfire with no Knox trip

Good to know. I hadn't gotten in this forum until today. I decided to purchase the S6 because I could get it at a steal, and now is a great time to sell my S5, but I was having buyers remorse because of the lack of development.
I can't complain because I'm lazy and don't want to learn to do it myself.

I haven't flashed this as yet, but reading the forum the issue appears for have been fixed with an updated kernel included in the current version.
You can fix fingerprint scanner and private mode in sac23s rom with XtreStoLites Aroma addon pack

Took The Plunge
Installed Sac's ROM through Flashfire and found myself wondering why I waited. Got everything set up as I wanted without any problems. Do remember to flash the Ktoonsez kernel after the ROM.
I don't care about Samsung Pay and I doubt that I ever will, so I installed TWRP right after. This felt so good, I see other ROMs in my future especially since sac23 says an update is coming soon. I feel like it is my phone again.

Using FlashFire (which I know that you have!):
Step 1: Choose Backup if you want. Then let that do its thing.
Step 2: After back, choose Wipe and accept defaults.
Step 3: Select the two zips, ROM and Kernel.
Step 4: Let her rip!
