[Q] Mono > Stereo toggle? - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I am in the office I need to be alert for incoming calls from colleagues, and therefore I only use one of my earphones when listening to music. There is a function on Samsung devices that allows you to change the output sound from stereo to mono (settings > my device > accessibility), and I am wondering if there is an app to toggle this? A widget for example. I only need mono during the time I listen to music, and want to be able to switch between stereo > mono quickly.
I can't seem to find anything in Play Store, but perhaps there is a solution somewhere?

Parrot handsfree (ck3100) and satnav

Hi all, i'm about to /buyfit a CK3100 but does anyone know if the satnav apps like copilot will route the audio instructions through the stereo ? And if so, does it mute the stereo each time it does?
Unfortunately, it doesn't. The parrot just handles audio related to phone calls. It doesn't work for navigation instructions, music and other sounds. (EDIT: Read your other post.. I've only tried navigation with Google maps so far, so I wouldn't know about any other navigation apps)
Whenever I use my Desire in the car, I hook up a cable between the headphones jack and the car stereo. This results in:
- Music from the Desire plays on the car stereo
- Navigation instructions pause music playback (in car mode)
- Traffic information broadcasts on the radio mute music playback (but do not pause it)
- Phone calls mute and pause music playback
The Parrot still has a lot better audio quality than the HTC car dock, so it has some added value. But I haven't found a way to play music or navigation instructions on the car stereo without usig a cable.

I had the same experience, however have found a workaround. I have added a plugin xCarLink iPod CD changer adaptor with an optional bluetooth module.
This allows me to connect my Desire using it for both handsfree and also A2DP bluetooth music playing. This does then pause my music or podcast if I receive a call.
I also have Copilot - this is flakey as to how it uses the bluetooth module - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Hope this helps...
hmm shame.. I'm guessing then that the only way to get sat nav through is to buy an A2DP enabled bluetooth car kit. Shame as i've got a CK3100 just sitting here which i've had for a while but never installed. The problem is if i buy another car kit, plus a charger/holder, its going to cost a small fortune.
Thanks for the info.

[Q] Possible to route audio through A2DP and the phone's speaker simultaneously?

The subject says it all. Can I route audio through Bluetooth A2DP and the phone's speaker simultaneously? I want to keep my phone connected to my car's audio system via Bluetooth voice and A2DP. But sometimes I want to switch to XM Radio or other sources. When I do that of course, I lose audio prompts from Google Navigation.
Is this possible?

I'm looking for the same thing. I can get audio through Bluetooth and have notifications go to speaker at the same time, but I can't get other media to go to speaker at the same time.
I would also be satisfied with a widget that lets me toggle the A2DP status of the Bluetooth connection on and off. It would not be the end of the world if I needed to toggle the A2DP off when I switch to another radio source and toggle back on when I go back to Bluetooth as the source in the car.

If you ask me I'd say it's possible.Whenever my phone is connected to my stereo through A2DP, the music is played through loudspeakers only by default. However, when there's an incoming call and my ringtone is being played I can hear it through loudspeakers AND the phone speaker, which creates a pretty cool surround effect. I'd really love to make my music player interact with all the speakers like this all the time. I took my chance installing various apps like SoundAbout to help me figure it out, all to no avail. Any ideas?

[Q] Bluetooth handsfree and using music player when driving

So should I be hearing music through my handsfree?
I used my phone for GPS for the first time and I love hearing Nav notifications through my handsfree set. What I couldn't figure out is how to keep using my handsfree set without music playing through it. Nothing would play through the AUX port of my car stereo unless I turned off my handsfree.
I want to be able to hear music through the car stereo and notifications / calls through the headset - is that possible?

I don't think it's possible. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think your phone manages both at the same time. You could have them go through the same one tough. That's what I personally do, both on bluetooth audio system (car).
How did you manage to get it to play on both? For me it seems like it has to be one or the other

Both on bluetooth? I simply have both running at the same time.
My issue was that it seemed like I can only do one or the other. I saw in the settings for my voyager legend that you can make calls through headset but have music still play through car stereo
That works

Not sure I completely understood what you're trying to do, so this may not be what you're wanting.
But if you go to your Bluetooth pairings on the phone and then go to the settings for your Car Stereo Bluetooth pairing, there is an option for either Call Audio or Music Audio. You can de-select the Music Audio so that only Call Audio plays through Bluetooth to the Car Stereo.
All I want is to be able to still hear navigation notifications in my headset while still be able to hear music through car stereo. That doesn't seem possible. I either hear it....
1) All in my headset (phone calls, music and notifications) or car stereo
2) Phone calls in headset (and navigation notifications if I'm on the phone) with music and notifications in car stereo
But I want it to be phone calls plus all notifications in headset regardless if I'm using the phone and music in car stereo

I went ahead and did a little search. Android seems to do it on it's on so I'm not sure why you can't connect to both and hear what you want in both.
I personally don't connect to 2 devices at the same time but I do get/hear everything in my car audio system (navigation, music, calls, notifications) and that can all be at the same time. The music sound will just lower when navigation girl speaks and when a notification comes in.
Now I dunno if you searched for this but I did find a app that might help (can't try it myself as I only connect to one): Smart Bluetooth Widget Free. There's also a paid version.
And like the other guy mentioned, you can select in the bluetooth options what you want to be streamed through it.

[SOLVED] Low Bluetooth volume

Ok , I lied: I don't have a solution for this
BUT, I had it! I solved this problem two times already but at the third wipe I forgot how it's done and now I can't remember
The problem: I use applications that read notifications (whatsapp, email, facebook, sms) through the speakers of my car or through my bluetooth mono earpice. When in the car (which I suppose it's stereo) the volume is extremely low.
I remember I solved this on 6.0 and 7.1 fiddling probably with XPosed and other stuff.
I use "SMS,MyCar&Me" but I also tried "ReadItToMe - Unique Handsfree" and I have the same problem.
The bluetooth mono earpice is a Kelodo S570
The car entertainment system is Fiat Blue&Me
I'm writing this post mainly as a reminder to myself, I'll update it as soon as I remember the solution
I think I found a different solution, but so far it worked with the Kelodo S570 (I'll try it in the car too)
Dynamic Media BT Mono Router
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...it&rdid=net.philipp_koch.dynamicmediabtrouter
What this does basically is re-route the media volume to the bluetooth mono channel.
In the app "SMS,MyCar&Me" I have the following option:
Send output to Bluetooth headset
Mono BT headsets will not be used [_]
Mono BT headsets will be used (eg headset that cannot play music) [X]
With the S570 I can use both options.
With the checkbox checked, the audio is low.
With the checkbox un-checked, the audio is fine but this is because the S570 can also be used for "Multimedia audio". This means I hear all the sounds of the UI through the earpiece.
This is not the case for the Blue&Me. With it, I can only use it for "Phone audio" and "Share contacts" (this is what I see tapping on the cog in the Bluetooth settings of Android)
If I uncheck the box the device is disconnected, the notifications are read through the phone's loudspeaker

strange issue with bluetooth connectivty with headsets

hi all,
after 3 years of use, I decided to upgrade my GearS2 to the new Galaxy watch. One of main advantages for me was the possibility of running without carrying a phone : I can use samsung health and music locally stored an the watch, together with my Jaybird run headsets.
the problem is I cannot get the voice messages on my headsets if the music is on : i get the notification beeps, every km the music pauses as programmed, but no voice can be heard.
Using watch speaker, app works fine and voice is played over music. Using car BT, it also works fine. Even on my Gear S2, app and BT headsets work fine, voice is correctly mixed over music.
I have re-paired and hard reset headsets and watch few times without success, and all notification and TTS are active. I even contacted jaybird support but they did not want to help (they blamed the app).
any hint about a possible solution ??? the most annoying thing is I cannot understand the problem...
thanks for your help!!

On your watch, go to Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> BT Headset. Click on the settings icon for your headset. Make sure "Use For" for Call Audio and Media Audio is enabled.
