Wall Charger - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I would like to buy a dual wall charger to use for both devices. Would a 5 volt 2 amp charger be OK to use on both? Thanks for your help and advice.

Charger

Can I use my old charger from my Original Droid to charger my new Galaxy Nexus?
The old charger is the kind that has the USB plugged into the part that goes into the wall socket. and has the standard mini USB, same as the charger that came with the GN. Was just wonder if the voltage would be different?
thanks for any help. Wanted an extra charger at work.
Should work no problem
Has anyone seen John Connor?
Should work. And it's micro usb for future reference. Mini is too big.

Yea, micro
Check the output. Ideally, you want it to match that of the GNex charter, which is 5V and 1A

The voltage should match, but the ampere doesn't have to. In fact, it's better if it's bigger (only slightly though, otherwise the battery might overheat).

Does the voltage have to match? Do we need additional transformers for travelling between Europe and USA?

The Samsung Droid Charge "charger" here in the US works just fine and can be purchased on eBay for around $5. In fact I think it's the same charger they bundle for the Verizon Wireless Galaxy Nexus.

You will see that most of chargers these days support 110 - 240 V and 50 - 60 Hz, so they should work everywhere. All you'd need is an adapter, but no transformers.

But it does need to be a 5v power supply.

That was for the input voltages. The output from the charger should be 5 V.

ac charger

Anyone know of a decent ac charger that works with the nexus? I have like 5 micro usb chargers from various old phones, but only one or two work with the nexus.
I used the one that came with the phone

I use the one that came with my Nexus One. It's 5W charger, like the Samsung wall wart, but has a cable that's a foot or so longer. I keep the Samsung at the girlfriend's. At work I use a 5V/.85a motorola that I found lying around.
Any brand name charger will work fine. Off brands...well...you get what you pay for sometimes.
Idk if itll help, but I have an HP Touchpad in the house, and the "barrel" like wall adapter and a random micro-USB charge with "AC" power as shown by the nexus.
tl;dr buy an HP touchpad charger on the cheap.

i am currently using this one instead original charger,it works fine. works great on my samsung android phones and iphone4 , except ipad2.the package with a free usb cable that for samsung galaxy tab . so you need a normal android usb cable, charger really small and great lookinghttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150731518...18326&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

Charging the Galaxy note 2 - North American Users

I ordered the International Version of the SGN2 and it'll be here on Tuesday but I have an important question to ask. I watched several unboxings on YouTube and I could help but notice all of them came with the UK prongs for the AC adapter.
My question is how are the north american users charging their new Galaxy Note 2's?
Did you guys buy an adapter? Use a different charger? (If so would the nexus 7's charger work?)
Please advise...

You should be OK with almost any USB 5V charger rated at 1A or more, but a 2A charger, like the Nexus 7's, would be the quickest.

Dave

I ordered from Negrielectronics so I doubt I'll be getting one. What did they give you? 2A?

My GN2 should be here Monday. If they didn't supply an adapter, I'm just going to run over to my local Radio Shack and pick up one of these.

When you pre order from handtec they throw in a free adapter, and the note charges super fast like 10% to a 100% in 2 and a half hours.

Anyone in Canada (Toronto area in particular) know where to buy one of these?
I know they're on eBay but I can't find it on the source.ca
Any suggestions?

I have American Style adapters with converter prongs, and have been using it on 220v here in Korea. I've used it the other way as well. They all work no problem.

AFAIK, the charging voltage on the Note II is the same 5V as all other phones, thus any USB charger should work. The only difference is in the current rating. A (tablet) charger rated for up to 2A will charge it faster, while others will be slower. Heck, you could use a 0.5A BT headset charger too! It will just take over 24 hours to fully charge the beast.
The current rating is the amount of current the device can supply safely. Its like a tap, the bigger the spout, the faster the water flow.

Actually my s2 charger (5v 0.7a) charges my note2 from 7% to 100% in 5 hours.
I'm considering keeping that charger for daily use as my note2 only charges during the night anyways while im sleeping and I think its more gentle on the battery to slow charge it. And I'll keep the 2A charger for emergencies.

[Q] Charger specs

i sold my old galaxy fit when i bought the note 2 but since my old phone charger had a longer wire so i kept the old charger and gave him the note 2 charger.. cz my bed is a little away from the plug point.
i just wanted to confirm if the specs of the charger are the same.
thnks
They're probably not the same. Note II's charger is rated to 2A (@5V).
The one im using is output 5.0v and 0.7A
Will it cause any damage or any problem...
My note 1 also used a 5.0v 0.7 A charger.

Don't worry: it won't cause damage. It will only take longer to charge.
Thanks a lot buddy!!!

MHL Adaptor

Are you guys using the OEM samsung one or a third party one? I've been looking to get one and the Samsung one seems really overpriced. I ordered the Fosmon one but it was out of stock and the reviews for it aren't thay great so I might up ordering the OEM one.

I'm not talking about chargers, I'm talking about the adaptor that turns the phone's usb port into an hdmi port

I'm pretty sure we as Note 2 owners are locked into using Samsung's proprietary MHL adapter. We can't even use one that worked with the GS2, Galaxy Nexus, or even the Note 1 without an additional adapter. The GS3 and the Note 2 have a special pin layout that requires their newest and most expensive MHL adapter. Amazon has one for 34 bucks and I've been hesitant to jump on it because I don't know how much I'll really use it.
i just bought one samsung mhl to hdmi of ebay and it dint work on my note 2 only on the galaxy s3

I am using an 11 pin wire I bought off of amazon for 15 bucks. Its an all in one soulution. It has a micro usb head for the phone, full size usb to plug into your tv or power block and an hdmi. Works well. Ive had no problems.

It should be here tomorrow. Wish i would have seen that red one. Does the same job for half the price. Oh well i guess.
I ended up getting the official Samsung MHL adapter from best buy online because I had some rewards zone credits. paid nothing for it. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was the older generation adapter and doesn't work with my note 2. Ordered the 5pin to 11pin adapter from samsung using the 50% off coupon and paid 5 bucks (plus 4 bucks shipping sadly) This combination works perfectly. a bit clunky with the additional piece but cost me 9 bucks total, can't complain. Works perfectly even using the extra adapter. :good:
ps - smart dock for the note 2 is also avaliable on amazon atm
