[Q] Disable auto sms on call reject - HTC Wildfire S

Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask. It may sound stupid but I just cannot turn off the auto sms feature on HTC Wildfire S. An automated sms is sent while the phone is in the locked state.

It shouldn't do that, but I know when I was using the WFS and I would drag the red dismiss/decline button to the lock ring I would sometimes then have to tap end call. I had voice mail turned off so maybe it was trying to send a message? It didn't seem to use minutes.
Did you know that when the phone is ringing there's a menu that is only available at that time, whether you're locked or unlocked when it rings...just tap the menu button on the bottom and you can mute the ring and let it ring through to voice mail. Curiously this is where I thought one had to go to send the SMS message, which I used to do when I was low on minutes...I set my message to say I was low and please text or email me...still after it sent the SMS I'd have to then tap on end call. Anyway, check what's in that menu, and if it still sends the SMS if you simply select decline from that menu. My other thought would be to press the power button twice to reject the call and see if it still sends the SMS. One last suggestion would be, in call settings, select to edit message before sending and when it wants to send the SMS and opens for editing, maybe cancel it, or set it to send blank if you're worried more about what you're saying than minutes?

Calling from SMS

As the title says...
I like the threading layout but I can't figure out for the life of me how to call. In a non threaded SMS I can just press the phone button while inside the msg and it would prompt to call. Now... nothing...
Anyone?
Hit the back button to go to the list of all threaded messages, highlight the set from the person you want to call, then press the Talk button & it'll open up the Phone app & input the number. It won't say their name, just the number, but it should be the right person.
I miss that function too.
NICE! thanks!

[Q] standard text message when declining a call

Guys,
I want to ask a question... with the screen on, when I get a phone call, I can push the menu button to send a text message with a standard text like "I'm busy right now, I call you later"...
- is there a way that I can change this text?
When my screen is off, and the sense 3 lockscreen kicks in when I receive a phonecall, I only got two options, answer or decline... Is there a way to get the menu button to work for me with the text message as mentioned above? This would especially come in handy, because I usually get phonecalls with the screen off...
any ideas, tips, tricks etc?
many thanks in advance
to change the default text menu>settings>call>phone settings>edit default message.
your right about no menu if incoming call when screen off! fix needed

[Q] Any way to stop going to call log after call?

On my Droid Incredible/Gingerbread I could configure whether the phone went to the call log or not after a call, but my Galaxy Nexus 4.0.2 always goes to the call log - this is especially annoying when I'm using the phone to navigate and get a call, when the call ends you don't just go back to the navigation. Anyone see a way to configure this that I missed?
Definitely interested in this as well
There is an app called "Not Call Log" which can take you to the home screen, dialer or open an app after hanging up. If you use Tasker, you can also set it to do anything with a "phone idle" condition (that may not make sense if you're not familiar with tasker).

Even though the call log appears, i believe the activity stack is is still maintained meaning after your call ends just press back twice, the second leaves the call log back to your prior activity.

No SMS notifications from inside conversation

I recently switched from an S4 to a Note 4, and have been missing lots of incoming SMS messages. I realize now that the S4 would beep any time a new message arrived, but the Note 4 suppresses notifications when you're inside the conversation for which a new message arrives. I can kind of see the logic for this - why would one need the phone to beep if you're already on the screen that's showing you the incoming message? In practice, though, I find that I leave the conversation screen open all the time when I'm not looking at the phone.
Most frequently, I keep the phone on a dock at my desk, hooked up to my KVM switch, so I can use my keyboard/mouse to write messages during the day. After sending a message, I switch back to my main computer/monitor and work over there until the phone beeps at me again. I rely on the SMS notifications to grab my attention, but need to explicitly exit the conversation after sending each message now if I want the beep to occur. The same thing happens when I put the phone in my pocket, holster, on the counter, etc. after sending an SMS. I'm sure I'll develop a habit after a while, but it seems foolish to me that I can't just stay in a conversation and have it beep whenever there's activity. This is the only email/IM/SMS app that I have that behaves this way.
I've tried to force the Messages app to beep at me whenever an SMS arrives, but there doesn't appear to be an option for this. Hopefully, I've just overlooked it, so:
QUESTION: Is there a way to configure the Messages app to beep whenever an SMS arrives, even if I'm already inside the conversation for the new message?
I'm using the stock ROM, no root, the default Messages app that comes on the phone, and a built-in notification sound (i.e. not something custom from the external SD card). Vanilla configuration. Thanks for your help.

In phone app go to settings - call - call alerts . There is option to alert you on notifications. Make sure you have this check.

Just to clarify, when I say "conversation", I mean that I'm reading an SMS thread inside the Messages app - not having a verbal conversation in the Phone app. Assuming that this is understood...
In the "Call alerts" page, I see several settings. Mine are configured as follows (where "+" is checked, and "-" is unchecked):
CALL VIBRATIONS
+ Vibrate when answered
+ Call-end vibration
CALL STATUS TONES
+ Call connect tone
- Minute Minder
+ Call end tone
ALERTS ON CALL
+ Notify during calls
Under the configuration above, would you expect the Messages app to beep when an SMS arrives on the thread that I'm currently reading?

Now i'm not sure. i need to see if in scenario you talking about i have notification, if i do i will explain my settings.
EDIT:
OK. I have notification. In settings in default messenger i have in notification Notification sound ( choose as you wish)
Vibrate +
Repeat message alert ( I got every 10 Min)
Pop-up display +
Lock Screen +
Status Bar +
What im reading messages i got pop-up with sound on top of message app.
But when im reading message and i get message from same person i don't have sound notification. It must be setup by software this way.
Did you find a fix? Mine does the same thing.

I'm still getting the same behavior. Missed several messages yesterday, in fact. This is the first thing I check after every OS update from AT&T, but I guess most people continue to prefer to not be notified when their text messages arrive.
If my screen is on while I'm in a conversation, you're correct, no notification will occur. But if my screen times out (locks) I will get a notification tone. I guess it just assumes you are looking at the screen if it's on and a message comes in.
Not aware of any way to change this.

I think that that's probably the intent. Maybe my habits are different than others', but I'm frequently not looking at the phone when the Messages app is up. Actually, before getting the Note 4 and training myself to switch off of Messages after reading each new text, I predominantly wasn't looking at the screen while Messages was up.
There's probably no one-size-fits-all setting here. It's just too bad that there's not an option to enable/disable audible notifications to fit individual preferences.
Did anyone ever find a way around this? You figure someone would have made an xposed module or something.
What a response.
Your response sounds like We should all be alike and conform.
Text notifications
Try '8sms' ... only text messaging app that I've found that will consistently notify me of incoming texts. Some apps will for a time but then stop doing so. This one has worked well for me.

[Q] Lollipop dialer hides in notifications for outgoing calls

Hi! Since my Note 4's Lollipop update last week, I am very frustrated with what the dialer does during outgoing calls (not using HD calling right now). After I make the call, the call screen disappears into the notification bar and I have to swipe down (being careful not to touch the sensors that make the screen go black) to get the dialer back on the screen. This is really a pain when I need the keypad. I really just want the dial screen to stay on the screen full size. I can't seem to figure out how to do this after much Googling (maybe because people don't think it's a problem...but it's a very annoying problem for me!). Any ideas on how to fix this? Many thanks! Amanda PS...Incoming calls are fine...dial screen stays full size on the screen.
Welcome to the lollipop group! I am using sip accounts and when I dial, the dialer asks me whether I want to use my phone operator or one of the sip accounts. After I choose I have no dialer left.
If i swipe back to the dialer tab in the phone application, I can see 3 options:
x use touch tone keypad
< return to call screen
+ add call
and if i select "return to call screen" i can see again the dialog that asks me which phone to use for the outgoing call (while i'm still calling or even talking with the other side)
Google don't care about this, they're probably looking to phase out "internet calling" since they have their own competing product now (hangouts).

I'm having exactly the same issue on a Note 3 now with Lollipop.
