[Q] Unbricking LG Optimus G e975 - using LGNPST, TWRP, ADB - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello everyone,
First of all I would like to thank all of you in the community for being so engaged and eager to help out when something turns out in another direction as expected. Without your help so many would be left in complete darkness.
Let's start with my conclusion first:
I need either a BIN file for my phone which can be installed using LGNPST, or
A ROM file which can be installed using TWRP from TeenyBin recovery without verification errors on zip or phone assertion, or
A third – and to me unknown – solution which brings me closer to an unbricked phone.
Phone facts:
LG-E975, S/N: 303KPUU181542
TWRP 2.5.0.0 installed together with LGNPST TeenyBin
From the fastboot screen
PRODUCT NAME mako
VARIANT mako 32GB
HW VERSION rev_11 (&¤)
BOOTLOADER VERSION MAKOZ10f
BASEBAND VERSION N/A
CARRIER INFO None
SERIAL NUMBER xxxxx
SIGNING production
SECURE BOOT Enabled
LOCK STATE UNLOCKED
LG KDZ file identified is: E97510D_00
Sequence of things so far
1) As all my previous Android phones I use CWM for backup and testing new ROM’s I installed this on my Optimus G and rooted the device. Also upgraded CWM recovery to latest version, (not touch though)
2) After that it was not possible to boot into recovery due to ‘some’ error – I therefore changed recovery to built-in TWRP. Boot to recovery now gave Secure Boot Error – certification
NOTE: I found somewhere that rooting is NOT enough you also have to unlock, (FreeGee?). Could someone please confirm or reject?
3) Now I turned to “[REPAIR] TeenyBin - Softbrick Quick Fix / Bootloader Unlock [E971, E973, E975, F180*]” using LGNPST and TeenyBin. Finally something happened – I could access the TWRP built in.
4) Then I used ADB to push ROM to the internal SDCARD and recovery to install. But this method failed – tried several ROMs which all gave errors initially. I discovered that the install script pointed at “e975” in(ro.product.device and ro.build.product but the phone reports “geehrc4g”
This is the output in recovery.log when trying to flash ROM
Warning: No file_contexts
script aborted: assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "e975" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e975"
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "e975" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "e975"
Following the advice of changing the script by
a. Deleting the ‘assert’ line in the script, or
b. Changing the element to what the phone reports did not help
NOTE: I have seen someone claim that you should do this without unzipping first. I cannot see how this can be done. Please confirm if you have any knowledge on this. If unzip and zip causes the problem below – then what is the solution?
Changing the product device and build leads to this in recovery.log
E:Zip signature verification failed: 1
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/thinkingbridge.zip'
Updating partition details...
To ensure working environment I tried to flash gapps which worked perfectly so connection and recovery must be functional.
5) Now turning to: ”[GUIDE] How to UNBRICK your Optimus G - security error, bootloop etc”
I used the method described and downloaded the appropriate KDZ file etc. etc but flashing gives this log:
10:05:58 : Launching SW update
10:05:58 : Unpacking KDZ

10:09:27 : FreeLibrary Call End
10:09:27 : ResetStartInfo() Call End
10:09:29 : ===FINISHED===
At the point where KDZ file is extracted the phone reverts from download mode to recovery which is probably why it fails.
Looking in the forums these problems are rather common and the suggestions are multiple. I hope to be able to get this problem solved with the help from the community and if possible condense whatever the experience and conclusions must be in a guide to help others in this situation. Thanks very much in advance.

Better use KDZ updater for files smaller than 1gb.for bigger files use flashtool.
Also,have you tried emergency recovery from lg mobile tool?since you are on stock,it should work.

Hi Kimitza,
Thanks for your reply. I did discover the 1GB issue during my quest. Unfortunately I havn't found any smaller images in the KDZ format. Also afraid of getting an image incompatible which could end up finalizing the bricking of my phone
Regarding the stock thing I did try restoring using the LG Mobile Tool - but that also ended in an error where the tool asked me to disconnect the usb cable, restart the device and reconnect after the analysis. But I am unable to boot beyond fastboot and recovery.
I have a hunch that the TeenyBin could be the key to my issues. If - which I don't know - it has put "wrong" identity, (ro.product.device and ro.build.product), into "a" system file then changing this could be the way forward to use the recovery tool.
Do you think this is possible? And if do you know where the system keeps this information?
Cheers Klavs

it's in build.prop i think.
if your files are bigger,use flashtool.

Hi there,
I'm stuck currently on exactly the same problem.
Actually i had my LGOG perfectly working with some CM10.1 Nightly build and yesterday i upgraded to CM10.2 Nightly (i also had to remove the first line of install script of the *.zip file, but this worked for me perfectly well in the past).
The upgrade process itself also worked fine, but when i rebooted my device the first time today, it got stuck on the CM boot screen animation.
Also Flashing the kdz file produced for me the same output (also with flashtool).
Finally i flashed another TeenyBin (the file is named "LS970_Original_TeenyBin-AA.bin" - i downloaded it the first time i unlocked my phone and I actually can't tell you where it is from) and after that flashing the kdz File worked for me (or at least, now it is installing).
Hope this helps you!
Edit:
My phone is working again (on CM10.1.3-RC2).
My Steps:
1. flash "E971.E973.E975.F180_Original_TeenyBin-AA.bin" via LGNPST
2. Boot to recovery
3. Download the zip file of the rom
4. Remove the first line of the "updater-script"
5. push the zip via adb to /sdcard
6. install the zip via recovery
7. it worked
Flashing the kdz file ended in a stuck boot-logo...
Good luck

What's the command to push the zip to the device. I'm getting lost reading all the info online.

I've had the exact same problem... and I also don't know how to access Download Mode manually.
I found a way to go around the situation... and it was by flashing a Stock ROM zip file (and already Rooted!!)
It is a LG Stock ROM turned into a flashable zip file, which you can install via Recovery like any Custom ROM. It is Indian firmware version E97510e-IND-XX, but it has english language.
You can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407489
Go into Recovery, and flash the Stock ROM zip file, and the Keyboard-fix immediately after (or you be flooded with Force-Closes after reboot), also don't forget to wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik before rebooting to System, or you will be stuck with a bootloop situation.
When you get to your new LG Stock ROM system, you can either stay with this ROM (which is rooted and deodexed!), or you can change it!!
You will now be able to select "LG Software" on the USB connection type, and from there update to a newer firmware version via LG Mobile Support Tool, or to a firmware version of your choosing via KDZ Updater or Flash Tools... Flash Tools being the best method to choose, because it will not have KDZ extraction failures/issues.
See the link bellow for LG E975 firmware KDZ files...

Dear it is simple to go in download mode manually, at the fast boot screen do the following...
Connect mobile to pc
Select power off and as soon as your mobile screen go black
Quickly press both volume buttons+power button and pull the cable out, and connect again (while all buttons are pressed).... And voila! You are in download mode
PS. You need to put your phone in download mode if while flashing kdz your mobile gets restarted....

and crashes, my phone is a e975.
Can't enter download mode, only have the options" Start" " Restart Bootloader", "Recovery mode", and power off.
Can anyone help me??

Assuming that the flashing of the stock ROM zip file was successful, things should be working fine...
But If they are not...
1 - Try entering into your Custom Recovery, and wipe Data, Cache, Dalvik-cache and System. (but not the Boot partition)
- flash the ROM zip file again and flash the keyboard fix immediately after.
- Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik-cache again (but not the System nor the Boot partitions).
- Reboot! You should be fine.
If not... If you get stuck at boot due to Kernel issues...
2 - then go into your Custom Recovery, and flash a new Kernel, a suitable Kernel for LG E975 with 4.1.2 Jelly bean.
- after that wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik-cache (but not System nor Boot).
- and Reboot!

First of all thanks for reply so soon, i've instaled another kernel , and seems to be working, but i've no network signal. and still dont have way to enter download mode so i can go back to stock. any ideias how to get into download mode??

To enter Download Mode do the following :
- turn off your phone,
- press and hold both "volume down" and "volume up" buttons,
- while holding those buttons connect your phone to PC via USB. (phone should enter download mode)
But wait... haven't you flashed the Indian stock ROM?
Isn't it already working? If yes, then you are already on Stock 4.1.2! More precisely, the E97510e-IND-XX stock firmware. Confirm this!
This means, you are on stock firmware but with Custom Recovery and Custom Bootloader!
Now, you don't need "Download Mode"!
If you want to update the firmware of your LG E975, or if you also want to get back to stock Recovery and stock Bootloader, then...
- install E975 up-to-date drivers and "LG Mobile Support Tool" on your computer, and reboot.
- on your phone go to Settings > Connection > PC Connection and choose the "LG Software" connection type,
- then connect your phone to computer via USB.
- and run LG Mobile Support Tool to update!

Your right i'm with stock firmware but with a custom recovery and bootloader.
Follow all your instructions to use LG Mobile Support Tool, but when it goes to install update it says that the pnone is not connected ??!!??
Restarted the phone and pc same thing happened again.
This started after i tried to unbrick my phone using teenybin, since that time teenybin changed my recovery and bootloader, and i dont' know how to put stock recovery and bootloader if i can't go to download mode.
Thanks

Ok, but the bootloader is only there to boot the device either to Recovery or to Android, if you can get to Android operating system then the bootloader doesn't matter anymore. (at least until you reboot.)
Answer the following:
Do you have a Firewall or Anti-vírus or anti-"something" software that may be blocking the connection between your phone and the PC?
Have you installed the latest drivers for LG E975 from LG site?
When you connect your phone to the PC, is the phone properly recognized by the PC?
If you turn on "USB Debugging" on your phone can you get ADB connection?
Did your phone had "LG Software" option selected when you connected it to the LG Mobile Support Tool?
Did you use the original USB cable of your phone?
If the problem with the connection is related to the LG E975 drivers, you may want to try this...
- run LG Mobile Support Tool (without connecting your phone) and on the left you have an option to manual select and install the drivers of your phone.
- after that search your PC for a folder named "LGMOBILEAX" and erase it.
- reboot your PC.
- run LG Mobile Support Tool again and connect your phone (in "LG Software" mode) to PC and select the option to recover the phone, "Update Recovery".
If the problem with the connection is not related to the drivers, try this...
- Go to Google Play and install the "FreeGee" app on your phone.
- and run the app. (make sure you have Root and Busybox properly working before running FreeGee)
- on FreeGee select either CWM or TWRP. (but I recommend TWRP.)
{If all goes well, this will install the CWM / TWRP custom recovery and a proper bootloader to your phone (much more complete then TeenyBin bootloader.)}
- when FreeGee is done, turn off your phone.
- now try to enter into Download Mode...
To enter Download Mode do the following :
- turn off your phone, (if is not already)
- press and hold both "volume down" and "volume up" buttons,
- while holding those 2 buttons connect your phone to PC via USB. (please use the original USB cable)
Try at least 2 or 3 times to enter into Download Mode, since the procedure is tricky... It only takes one button not being pressed properly for the procedure to fail.

Can i use CWM and EXrecovery (v19c) for v20c rom?
Hi @alamatnitotoy !
Me and my friend, who has su880, were testing the v20c kdz.
We flashed v20c kdz using KDZ updater, smartflash and even we tried the offical LG update upgrading from v19c to v20c.
After every way of flasing v20c the phone always stucked at LG boot logo. So We read back every partition from the phone and it turned out that the LNX partition, which contains the kernel, is empty. I mean the kernel was missing after every flash of v20c, but every other partition was okay.
We extracted the the every file from the kdz and the the kernel image was empty in this case as well.
I don't know what is it. Maybe we are doing something wrong or LG simply left out the kernel file from v20c?
Did you flashed v20c?

yes i did flash the v20c. I had that problem before also when using other flasher other than the kdz updater. also sometimes when its failing, what i do is i run the file "Root v20c" thru apx before using the KDZ updater to upload the v20c

Thnak you! The rooting-forv20c.rar contains the v20c kernel file.
I need CWM for v20c.Do you have it?
@alamatnitotoy I looked deeply into why flashing v20c brick your phone. My statement that the kernel image is missing from v20c was wrong. The kernel is there but an wrong place. When you use the extractor from P990 AIO toolkit to extract the image files from AP.bin file, the extractor shows you that which image file is at what OFFSET (or address) in the AP.bin file. Here is what am I talking about:
Code:
[01] address=0x00100000 size=0x00400000 // bct file
[02] address=0x00500000 size=0x00200000 // partition layout
[03] address=0x00700000 size=0x00200000 // bootloader
[04] address=0x00900000 size=0x00600000 // recovery
[05] address=0x00f00000 size=0x2bc00000 // system
[06] address=0x2cb00000 size=0x00600000 // kernel
[07] address=0x2d100000 size=0x12c00000 // internal sd content
These adresses also used during smartflashing. These adresses tells the smartflash where is the kernel image and system image and etc in the v20c AP.bin file
If you flash v20c and you read back the 12th partiton with nvflash you can see only zeros.
If you open teh v20c AP.bin file in a hex editor and you go to the 2CB00000 offset you can see there is nothing just bunch of zeros, the kernel is not there. The kernel actually at 2E000000 offset. Not just the kernel is at a wrong offset, also the sd-img is at the wrong offset. sd-img should be at 2D100000 offset, but in the v20c AP.bin it is at 2E600000 offset. So, when you flash v20c the kernel partition will be filled with 00 hex values and the internal sdcard got damaged as well, because the kernel image gets flashed to the internal sdcard. This cause the Stuck at LG boot logo effect, even if you flash v20c kernel to the righ partition with nvflash, because the internal sdcard is damaged.
Fixing v20c AP.bin file:
There are only 00 hex values From 2CB00000 to 2E000000.
Delete those 00 hex values, then the kernel image and the sd-int.img get to the right offset
Insert the same amount of 00 hex values as the amount of deleted 00 hex values to the end of the v20c AP.bin file to keep the size of the sd-int.img, then save the modifications.
I flashed this modified v20c AP.bin to my p990. I read back every necessary partition with nvflash and everything was okay. bootloader, bct, partitions, kernel, recovery, system are aon the right partition so maybe it's fixed, but I am not 100% sure just 98% because I don't have su880
I want to share you and with others the fixed v20c, so you can test. You can download it here
I want to share my google drive folder as well where you can find my works with su880. It has cwm for v19c and v20c. I also write a read me how can you flash it and root your phone with CWM. Well it was not tested as well, I am 98% sure it works, because rooting p990 and su660 stock roms works that way and p990, su660 and su880 almost the same. I use the CWM recovery image from "CWM for v19c".
My folder is here, some files are still uploading. I will notice you in this post when it is finished
There is no bootloader.img in the folder "SU880_V20C_CWM".Have you forgot it?

[Q] Unable to do anything to a LG E973... [SOLVED]

Hi there,
This is my first post and I'm totally new here, so I would like to thank everyone in advance to help me out. I'm not much new to modding my stuff, beside trying to update the HP TouchPad, I though I could do wonders with my LG E973. I have already unlocked it a long time ago and it's been doing well until I finally decided to upper it for 4.3. from the official mod at CynaogenMod over here...
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=e973
I have read any tutorial and pretty much basically a simple and easy follow step. As noted, it's already unlocked and I already use it for another carrier. http://true-android.blogspot.ca/2013/11/update-lg-optimus-g-e973-canada-to.html and a few others...
I did download the ROM Manager and even rooted it form the instructions here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181103
It all worked until that point, when I flash via ROM Managers and did a "recovery boot" using the volume + and power, I got this secure error boot and it got stuck in the LG mode... I thought I screw up or something...
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-return-fix-a-bricked-lg-optimus-g-back-to-stock.html
I managed to reinstall everything from using the KDZ and it went again. I did a complete factory reset and try a few other times with the same error. I didn't really give up, maybe I miss something or unable to get the boot to install.
Then I found this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249500 (honestly, that thread should be deleted and blocked out because it is nothing more then a headache).
It sound need so I give it a try and that was a huge mistake. Not only I got stuck in that boot menu, I'm unable to install any ROM (even adb sideload), it keep nothing missing MD5 file or whatnot. However, I can install the Google Apps, but nothing else. Loading it only have a Google image and that's it. After hours trying everything, I gave up and switch back to Download Mode, which I still can (thank goodness).
After in Download Mode, I did the KDZ quickly and it works for a few seconds and the phone reboot itself and it's back ti that loader. I try many times and I can't do it.

First, take a deep breath... As long as you can get your phone to boot in download mode, you are good. Since you already managed to restore a stock ROM from a KDZ, I would suggest doing the same thing again -- it worked for you once, it should work once more. Make sure you get the right KDZ for your phone -- check HERE, grab one of the Canadian ROMs for your model. Just calm down, and follow the steps carefully and methodically. You'll get there.
Once you are back to stock, before trying to do anything else, get your ducks in a row, make sure you understand all the steps (personal advice: stay away from ROM Manager!).
1. Unlock your phone to be used with other carriers (sounds like you've already done it, so the unlock should be permanent; if not, just unlock it again).
2. Root it (there are several root methods available, but again, stick to the one you successfully used before).
3. Use FreeGee to unlock the bootloader! This is the critical step you missed, judging from your description of events. You can't flash any custom ROMs or recoveries unless you do this!
4. Use FreeGee to install a custom recovery and to back up your EFS (important!).
5. Flash anything you want from this point forward.
6. Get a drink.
BTW, there is one good place you should check before doing anything. Plenty of useful info, which will help you make sense of what and how needs to be done.
Hi there,
Oh, I finally got it to work. Thank you. I have to reinstall it again because I download the wrong GApps. *lol*
By the way, what is the EFS?
Anyways, for anyone who has the same situation as I am, the fix I did, putting the phone to "Download Mode", go to Control Panel and Device Manager and disable the Android modem then use the KDZ. It will work and it won't reboot it during the process.

After putting in the imei number on the Web page all I get is some xml information but no link to download file. Please advise on file download.

You can use this tot file to get your phone back to stock KK:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G3/Stock/AT&T+D850/
OK thank you for the file. However call me a n00b, but the file I downloaded was a tot file and the instructions say I should have a kdz file. Should I rename the file to kdz? The tool is looking for a kdz file.

So I had the same issue with my phone. I made a nandroid backup of my lollipop 5.0.1 and installed a MM rom. when I did it didn't work so I re formatted the phone and restored my back up, and I had no imei number, the phone said no service and I had an x at the signal bar. I tried everything, and couldn't get it to work, so after reading different topics, and random side topics, I found a soulution. after I re installed the lollipop version, I found the right modem.zip file for my phone. I used this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/development/rom-lg-d850-20f-lollipop-5-0-1-extras-t3052041. download the modem.zip and put it on your sd card. re boot to recovery and flash the zip with TWRP. Than bam, you have your imei and signal back. Hope this helps.

[FIX]LG Flash Tool Stuck At 2%

THIS IS FOR THE D802 ONLY
This is a solution to the LG Flash Tool GUI getting stuck at 2% and giving an error while trying to flash a .KDZ that IS COMPATIBLE with your phone.
I haven't found this solution anywhere on the forums so thought I would share it.
Basically it re-installs your mmcblk partitions.
NOTE: First off, it's worth checking your LG Flash Tool error log to make sure your error is the following
(C:\LGMobileUpgrade\log0.txt)
Code:
04:30:34 : ********* CDMA Model.dll input Parameter End*************
04:30:37 : wParam : 20, lParam = 540
04:30:37 : MODEL DLL Event : (20, 540)
04:30:38 : Model File Count = 540
04:30:38 : wParam : 100, lParam = 51
[B]04:30:38 : MODEL DLL Event : (100, 51)[/B]
[B]04:30:38 : Step : TYPE_WPARAM_UPGRADE_ERROR[/B]
04:30:38 : CleanModelDll() : Free Model.dll
04:30:38 : _DetachDLL Call
04:30:43 : _DetachDLL Call End
04:30:45 : Page_Error ºÎºÐÀÔ´Ï´Ù
04:30:45 : ¿©±â´Â Retry ºÎºÐÀÔ´Ï´Ù
The above BOLD text is the common error when the LG Flash Tool is getting stuck at 2%.
Once you've confirmed you are getting the same error AND you are indeed getting stuck at 2%, please continue.
1. Download FixedDownloadCMode_droidth.zip.
2. If you do not already have the ADB driver installed, download and install it.
3. Make sure you have a custom recovery installed. Recommended LATEST version of TWRP for the D802 from HERE.
4. Boot into Recovery
5. Plug LG-D802 into Computer and wait for ADB connectivity.
6. Extract FixedDownloadCMode_droidth.zip and run FixedDownloadCMode.bat.
7. Wait for batch process to finish (It will push all bin and img files, then dd all the files).
8. Boot into Download Mode and your .KDZ should flash without LG Flash Tool getting stuck at 2%.
It' work for you. I so happy if it can help you.

It did indeed help me .
Thanks for posting this, I was getting really frustrated at this error back when I needed to factory reset my phone for warranty. Ended up using the LG Mobile support Tool's Upgrade Recovery function instead.
Will give this a try next time I need to factory reset my phone :good:

Tell me about it, knowing your KDZ SHOULD be flashing and having it crash on you at 2% is the worst thing in the world .

Yeah it's known that changing your ROM can sometimes change the integrity of your partitions. Thanks for sharing your solution.

By the way, I decided to use CloudyG2 rom instead of stock one due to latency during incoming calls.
I tried cloudystock but also it has same bug as it is based on stock.
I am really happy with CloudyG2; smooth, stable, bug free and amazing battery life. Almost 35 hrs with 4hrs screen time.
When I had that problem I just downloaded v10 tot files and flashed them it's much easier and it's works perfectly.Arfter flash flashed v20 via kdz and no stuck works like a charm maybe this info will help
For me dont work ... its hard brick my device.
for me what work ( i can enter into recovery)
Wipe system, data , dalvik, cache.
flash that rom. ( LG flash tool dont detect my device like Optimus lg g3 1.4.1 rom and download mode work without problem) http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development-d802/d80220h-original-prerooted-stock-t3019155 FW with bootstack
After flash over http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 LG flash tool D80210A_00.kdz , becaus Kitkat firmware dont add u stock recovery ( way go into recovery. In Lg flash tool set:
Select Type : CDMA
Phone mode : cs_emergency
select: D80210A_00.kdz
CSE flash
and Start
Dont look at that error message simply press ok and w8 till ur phone boot up. U will have pure stock lg g2 with all drivers like when u buy phone.
The biggest problem of LG flash tool its detecting custom firmware like another FW and its disable download mode flash. Idk why. I try full wipe phone and its doesnt work, only flashinh stock over recovery.
Enjoy i hope my little guide work.

Hello,
Now I returned back to stock Turkey ROM (4.4.2 V20C) and trying to install V20H Open Europe but some problem here.
And I decided to try the way that you explained above.
1. I had installled LG Universal Drivers. Does it includes ADB drivers also?
6. Run *.bat file but nothing happens. Do I need to enable something within TWRP environment?
Can you please guide me?
hello how eaxctly to use with adb to start the bat file?

1. Download and install ADB & Fastboot Drivers.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Enable USB Debugging in Developer Options.
4. Reboot your phone.
5. Boot your phone into TWRP and plug your phone into your PC.
6. Open cmd.exe by going Start -> Run -> "cmd.exe" -> OK.
7. Type adb devices, you should get an output like this,
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
8. If you see your device listed adb is working and you can continue.
9. Now exit cmd.exe and extract the FixedDownloadCMode_droidth.zip file.
10. Go into your newly created /FixedDownloadCMode_droidth/ folder and double-click FixedDownloadCMode.bat.

You don't use adb to start the bat file, the bat file is run by double clicking on it with your cursor.
The bat file will take control of adb for you. Make sure your phone is connected via adb first (refer to the steps above).
thanks working awesome
Great! You're the man.. I've tried 5 hours without success till i found your fix *thumbsup*

Do you know how to navigate through your file system?
Your log file is located at C:\LGMobileUpgrade\ like I said in OP.
do I have to install trwp to be able to rom install? is this method not working for original recovery?

Original Recovery does not let you use ADB and has little to no features.
