Help! Downgrade Htc hd7 7.8 - Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking

Guys I have a HTC HD7, I'm trying the goldcard method ... when i connect any phone changes from "Enter USB Host Mode" to Loading ... restarts and then stays on "Enter USB Host Mode" and nothing happens ... what can I do?
It seems that the phone is locked and can not face starting the downgrade, I have a chance to fix it?

Looks like your goldcard isn't working, when the phone doesn't find a Gold Card or not the right Gold Card then nothing will happen.

Thanks for the reply, I will open the tool, and then load the img and the whole thing is completed with success!
Do not you think it's the phone that cause problems? before discovering this method I tried to flash it directly with RUU_Schubert_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_SLSPL_Signed_by_ansar
and the phone arrived at 1% was restarted as it does with the goldcard, blocking the connection with the PC and in the other case with the memorycard!
I have followed all the correct steps for the goldcard, do not think that the problem of microsd ... and 'almost 1 month I try to unlock this phone, I hope you can help me!

The micro sd and I use 'of the mobile phone of my sister, I think is 2 GB!
I format it in fat 32 and then execute the steps from goldcard tool!
Maybe if you tell me a card that definitely works, procure me and try again!

SD Card Boot-Loader

I am trying to run the SD Card boot-loader with no sucess.
I have put the ******.nbh file on the root of an empty 1Gb MicroSD card, put it in the device, held down the Speech Button and switched the device on.
It very briefly says on the screen 'reading SD Card' (or something like that) then goes to the RGB screen. It does not attempt to run anything from the SD card no matter what I try.
Am I doing something wrong, or are there issues with SD cards over a certain capacity. I have tried formatting the card as both FAT, and FAT 32.
Hi,
you have to format your sd-card with an cardreader and your windows pc! please use as filesystem fat32, after the formatingprocess copy the *.nbh file on your sd-card. then insert the card in your device and enter the bootloader.
thats all, enjoy and have fun
Tried that and can not get it to work. Will try again though. Any particular block size when I format?
use standard blocksize, and you must use the correct filename for the *.nbh file!
also, has to be the correct image, not all nbh files will load off SD card

flashing from card
to flash from card, CID should be unlocked.
current uspl doesn't allow to flash from card.
two solutions: imei-check or gold card with arteimg.nbh file.
regards,
what is gold card
I am trying to flash the original O2 UK ROM. The file is named Arteimg.nbh and is the correct image for the device.
I really can not get it to work, when I start the device it says on the screen that it is reading the card, but only for about half a second, is that normal?
its normal for it to probe sd card yeah, but not to ignore it hmm... might be worth going to o2 shop shrug your shoulders and say it all went pete tong... lol what i did!!

Guys, just get the device into BOOTLOADER. Connect to PC (WindowsXP) then run the O2 UpdateROMUtility.exe file. The device should flash and after 10mins or so you should have your device back.
I bricked my phone and did this. Got it back working no problems. After it works again, get it unlocked. Saves any bother in the future. www.imei-check.org

After tutorials i've rooted and flashed via (green) recovery a new DJDroid rom.
But it keeps playing boot anim all the time.
Tried few defferent roms, same thing.
Did SD partitioning and a full wipe.
Any idea?
pls, help.
Only thing thay i can do is reflash via generic RUU one on fastboot now. =/

EDIT

already searched the formu - nothing similar didnt found
Have you wiped cache and dalvik cache, and done a data/factory reset ?
Yes, yes, yes
As is said: "Did SD partitioning and a full wipe."

decompress android sdk (check on google for the sdk package, is quite small), then go inside the "tools" folder (I assume you have already your drivers installed).
then go on command prompt, and
Code:
adb logcat
will show the logcat.
Code:
adb logcat > bootlog.txt
will create the boot log (you won't actually see anything on screen since the output is redirected on the txt file.
You can:
start your phone
type adb logcat
CTRL+C when the phone is booted.
It will automatically stop if a reset occurs.

How did you wipe your ext partition?
I've had to use my computer as wiping it in recovery didn't work.

Looking at the logcat, everything fails to initiate so you could possibly have USB Brick, check out this thread and report back

Done step by step.
No errors while updating.zip
Flashed new rom (DJ...)
Same thing
Any idas what should i do?
log attached - seems to be quailtly the same...
I don't think you have the usb brick as you would have no access to SD card, and the phone would still boot. You would also see qualcomm devices listed when you connect usb.
Have you tried booting without the sim and SD card?

socktug,
Without SIM & SD phone started fine
... but after reinsert abowe its all the same. =/
I can lunch it with SIM only.
So i cant lunch it with SD inserted.
Can You verify what is the problem?
Or how can i?
Maby should i try with goldcard?
if it boots with SIM and no SD then its the SD thats the issue.
You can try to format the SD again and reparition it, if that dont work then it must be a faulty SD card.

But SD with stock ROM works great, with Hero it works also fine.
There was no problems at all...
What tool shoud I use to do repart.SD for Desire?

[Q] Unable to access my SD card......

My desire is rooted with neophyte ROM loaded, the phone works but I can't access my 16GB SD card, it is accessible via a PC (when I plug the SD card into a reader) and I've tried the stock 4GB card in the phone and that is also unreadable.
Ok so I did drop the phone from waist height (not for the first time) but I doubt that's caused the issue (well I hope not !) I'm thinking the battery pull has somehow corrupted the ROM.
So now when I have either of my SD cards plugged into the phone I'm unable to access them via clockworkmod recovery console either, I just get unable to mount SD card error.
I tried to format the 4GB card on my PC but that made no difference.
Is my phone broken, what else can I try ?

So I read half of that thread and ran fastboot oem enableqxdm 0 which returned an 'okay' response but still the SD card is inaccessible.
My CID is T-MOB005
Anything else I can try or is this looking like a hardware fault ?
Thanks.

Try steps 3-5 from this guide as well, fixed it all for me

Thanks for the reply but I don't think that will work as I can't access the SD card in clockworkmod.
I will try this though on Sunday, I need my phone tomorrow so I don't want to risk totally bricking it.

Bump.
Could anyone point me in the right direction, I've read the 51 page thread abz54 recommended but I don't know what to do next.
I think I need to try to copy mtd0.img to the data directory on my phone but my CID is different to the ones mentioned and my software\ROM version is Neophyte Mod 1.8 Sense-Froyo FRF91 ????

[Q] I get "CID incorrect message" can you help me?

I tried to downgrade my DHD to 1.3xxxx several times and the end result was always the same "CID incorrect". Can someone help me please I really need to root my DHD.

Troubleshooting:
- "Main version is older"? You did not type everything correctly. Please try it again and see if any errors come up.
- "Error opening backup file"? You did not use "Charge only" -connection, or your SD card is faulty.
- "CID mismatch/CID incorrect"? Your device is branded. Just make a Goldcard, put the PD98IMG.zip to the card again and go to the bootloader.
- "Model ID incorrect"? Some Telus DHDs get this, just make a Goldcard.
- Zip will not load in bootloader? Format your SD card to FAT32, no quick format! You can also try another SD.
- Problems while making Goldcard? See this post.
- PD98IMG.zip md5sum is: C3D244A9F056E48EE3851A14FF52204C

After creating the Goldcard with ur new card, did u put the PD98IMG.zip file in the card itself?
Finally it worked after trying soooo many guides and videos I used this simple direct one http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/ and it worked. But to be frank with you it looks like the issue is the SD card itself, not all SD card accepts the Goldcard process. My last attempt after trying 4 different cards I pulled my camera card and I said this is the last trial and it worked although it is SanDisk same I tried with 3 before and I even tried Toshiba brand. Any ways thank you all you are the best to help now I moving to next step S-Off

Hi everyone,
Ive been trying to downgrade my DHD for a while now but it just doesn't work! Im using jkoljo's guide > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
I can make a gold card fine, but when i do this step in cmd

on my phones screen i can see it saying "safe to remove sd card" and then i cant access the disk drive option to place the PD98IMG.zip on there.
If i restart the phone i can see the sd card again.
Just now i tried getting into the bootloader with vol - and power button and it freezes if my sd card is in the phone but works absolutely fine if the sd card is not? if it helps im using a samsung 8gb sd card

just out of curiosity, that guide is posted in the nexus one forum, will it still work on the DHD?
No it will not work. I wonder why ppl keep linking threads across forums.. It is like trying to fit Audi exhaust pipe to BMW.. Just won't work.

Even I had lots of problem with Goldcard. Try different cards for it to work. Also if the PD98IMG.zip from jkoljo's guide gives you wrong image error, then try downloading a 1.32 RUU that almost resembles your system config.
For example I am from India and because I couldnt get my hands on a 1.32 India RUU, I downloaded the Asia RUU and it worked.!!

Perhaps you should try that? Otherwise it sounds like you should try another memory card.
