[ROM][AOSP][UNOFFICIAL]CarbonRom 2.0 bèta[4.3.1][honami][Oct 31] - Xperia Z1 Original Android Development

Why choose for CarbonRom?
CarbonRom is an AOSP based rom, which is always compiled with the latest linaro toolchain. The kernel also is compiled with -O3 optimizations for better performance. It also gives you a great option of customization. Reasons to go for CarbonRom are:
- Compiled with Linaro, this will make your phone ultrafast and ultrasmooth
- AOSP based, s no bloatware or other stuff
- Great Customization options
- Nice look
- HALO
- ...
Current Version
CarbonRom 2.0 is still in early stages, it's Android 4.3, but not all features are implemented!
I won't manually search for all new features, just wait for an official 2.0 changelog when it is completed.
- Android 4.3
- HALO
- DSP Manager
- New battery icons
- stability and speed enhancements
- a million other little things as well - we basically don't even sleep anymore.
What is CarbonRom?
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, @FXP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

I'll continue building nightlies as much as possible.
Support
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question here. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Who is the Carbon maintainer for your device?
For you guys, Xperia developer is me only, Krabappel2548. I'm the only one working for Xperia devices, maybe I'll add more devices to my support list soon. Any donations are highly appreciated, I'll always use them for my development, to buy new devices

Thanks to your help we now have the machines we need for nightlies. We couldn't have done it without you! Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

== Kernel FAQ - GPU OC - Voltage Control - Sound Control==
GPU OC
OVERCLOCKING GPU WILL REDUCE BATTERY LIFE!
you can overclock/underclock GPU manually via scripts/commands...
[ how to do this manually/script ]
To check current max clock of GPU clock use:
Code:
cat /sys/devices/fdb00000.qcom,kgsl-3d0/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/max_gpuclk
To set GPU to particular frequency (overclock or underclock) use:
Code:
echo 533333000 > /sys/devices/fdb00000.qcom,kgsl-3d0/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/max_gpuclk
available scaling frequencies are:
Code:
[LIST]
[*]600000000 - 600 MHz
[*]533333000 - 533 MHz
[*]450000000 - 450 MHz (DEFAULT)
[*]320000000 - 320 MHz
[*]200000000 - 200 MHz
[/LIST]
Voltage Control
All credits for this interface go to Faux123!
WARNING!
DO NOT USE TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW VOLTAGES, SLOWLY increase the voltage one notch at a time for a particular frequency and do stability/testing for few hours. once you have verified that you CPU chip can handle that voltage ONLY then "Set at boot"/Use init.d script
You can either use an APP (like IncrediControl) [others mentioned in OP] or use an init.d script to do the work...
to see current voltage table use:
Code:
[B]cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/vdd_levels[/B]
to set voltage for a particular frequency:
Code:
[B]echo 1512000 1150000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/vdd_levels[/B]
will set 1512Mhz freq voltage at 1150mV
to reduce voltages for ALL frequencies:
Code:
[B]echo -25000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/vdd_levels[/B]
to increase voltages for ALL frequencies:
Code:
[B]echo +25000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/vdd_table/vdd_levels[/B]
Sound Control
Kernel level Sound Control
This feature has been added by faux123 himself!
The sources for this feature are covered under GPL and are released along with my kernel sources at my GITHUB repo.
[ WARNING ]
high volume can damage hearing!
Krabappel2548, DooMLoRD or faux123 are not to be held responsible if this damages ur headphones/speakers/etc
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
There are two ways to use this interface.
manual control through sysfs interface
paid app (FauxSound Audio/Sound Control)
How to use the app FauxSound Audio/Sound Control is pretty self explanatory so I will write on how to control using the sysfs interface...
BEFORE DOING ANY ADJUSTMENTS EXIT THE APPS LIKE MUSIC PLAYER/etc!!
The interface to control the sound output is located at:
Code:
[B]/sys/kernel/sound_control_3[/B]
it has 4 control interfaces:
Camera MIC
Code:
/sys/kernel/sound_control_3/gpl_cam_mic_gain
Headphone
Code:
/sys/kernel/sound_control_3/gpl_headphone_gain
MIC
Code:
/sys/kernel/sound_control_3/gpl_mic_gain
Internal Speaker
Code:
/sys/kernel/sound_control_3/gpl_speaker_gain
each supports gain levels from 20 (-20) to 50 (+10), base is 40 (0)
(the number in the brackets correspond to the numbers displayed in the app)
say if u want to boost headphone output (both left and right channels) then use the following command:
Code:
echo "44 44" > /sys/kernel/sound_control_3/gpl_headphone_gain
u can also individually increase/decrease the gain for each right and left channel
similarly other interfaces can be controlled
TIP:
do not jump to maximum values as sometimes the headphones/speakers might start distorting the audio... slowly increase and do testing for the levels which suit you!
not all accessories will work well with boosted audio output

All of this wouldn't be possible without @Kali- and @Bin4ry helping with stuff and setting up device tree etc
Also big thx to @DooMLoRD for some of his kernel commits to tweak the CM kernel

This ROM is based on CM 11.0 and made from MoKee Open Source
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP and CyanogeMod project. The source code is updated frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features at the same time.
The Mfunz Forums launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better.
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development. Newcomers are always welcomed!
Official website: http://www.mfunz.com
Types of Releases:
MoKee OpenSource has 4 kinds of releases: official release, beta, nightlies, and unofficial builds.
Official release: This version is tested throughly by developers and users, so it is the most stable build
Beta: When a device is newly added, there will be beta versions for testing, but there might be unknown bugs and problems
Nightlies: Nightlies are compiled automatically by servers, so it will have the latest features but beware of uncompleted works
Unofficial builds: These builds are compiled from source or ported by non MoKee developers
Official Releases:
MoKee Open Source supports many devices, but the developers may not have all devices in hand, so if there are device maintainers that can help out, the official releases will be decided by them, MoKee Open Source will only maintain the nightlies to ensure the usability of the ROM. However, for devices with no device maintainers, MoKee Open Source will decide when to release official builds or nightlies. Therefore, if you have a device maintainer, please get the official releases from your respective device maintainer's thread or nightlies from MoKee Open Source.

Features
Even though Carbon keeps a very stock AOSP look overall, it is still PACKED with additional features that you can enable as you please. There are honestly way too many features to list, the entire feature list can be found over here - http://carbon-rom.com/features/
Work in progress.. Many things related to carbon fibers are yet to be merged with 4.4.2.. So have patience..
Non-Working List:
Whatever doesn't work on OpenSemc11, won't work here either. Not working:-
--> Qr scanning, skype and apps which use the camera (temporary fix available - Settings-->Developer Options-->Disable HW Overlays) (FIXED)
--> GPS (FIXED)

This rom has it's own kernel in the zip. All that you have to do is wipe data (data, dalvik cache) and flash the zip. This is a kitkat rom and it's not compatible with b.96 kernel.

I'm not sure what you mean by "configuration". It indeed does use common sources as XS but the difference is in the device tree. Apart from the device tree, all other sources are common for xs,acro s and ion. Changelog is also pretty much the same.

No, it is not a port (if you meant winzip porting). It is compiled from source and is meant specifically for acro s only

#Reserve 2: Information and Banners
Q: Which version should I install?
A: If you're on CM11 Beta 9.2+ or a ROM based on its sources, then use latest beta release!
Else, use Beta 0.1.4
However, Beta 0.1.4 does not have latest features of SKernel.
Beta 0.1.4 has only over clock, under clock and undervolt (on 800MHz)
Use only if your current ROM isn't CM11 Beta 9.2+ based!
Q: Why am I getting flickers?
A: You're on a wrong version of kernel, ie, kernel is slightly incompatible, try switching between Beta 0.1.4 and latest release!
Q: Where can I find Beta 0.1.4
A: It can be found in older releases on mediafire
Q: Which version should I flash
A: Flash kernel to respective model number (E610/E612)
Q: Which frequency is the safest
A: The default frequency, 800MHz, is the safest!
But, there's no harm in overclocking upto 1100MHz.
You MAY face some issues on 1100MHz, but 1050MHz is stable as 'rock'!
Q: WiFi doesnt work for me
A: Use the kernel I made for CyanHacker ROM (available on the thread)
Q: Why am I not feeling 'smooth' on latest CM11?
A: Use this kernel for CM11 Beta 10 (PecanCM) and v5.0 (Plamb1r)

Feel free to use and dont forget to thank him!

Hope u fix that.

For dual boot I suggest to look at Motorola defy p.ex. I remember you could do it with as many roms as you like from external sd for o2x it was done by an app that made you switch between two roms. This should be possible for every device running Android as long as it's possible to change the partition size and code a split system, one for one rom and one for another. I'm not capable, but please take a look, at least in dev section at o2x. Look in the stickies for @spyrosk aio tread

Hi,
Thanks!
I just went through his thread for P990 dual boot.. Seems he has done something with the boot loader to achieve it.. Actually, my friend told embedding dual boot in kernel is easy, but he hasn't figured out how to do in L7 or L5.
I'll definitely look into that later. For now, Frandom .. I've got the required files now.. Now for the build..!!

SKernel was created for giving the users of "underprivileged" devices a memorable experience.
It ensures that everything is perfect from kernel side.
SKernel was created in mind, keeping these things - Speed, Performance and Stability.
None had an upper hand over the other, all were given equal importance.
After all the bits were in their right places, SKernel was born.
Initially built for the LG Optimus L5, SKernel now supports all the variants of LG Optimus L5, L7 and L3 II.

Place Holder #4: FAQ
Q: Will this conflict with any mod I'm using?
A: As long as it doesn't have any entropy related stuff, its okay. Since the kernel already comes with an inbuilt entropy generator, it will conflict with the ones from mod, causing a poor, stuttered performance!
Q: Deep Sleep isnt working for me, Google Services causing wake-locks, what to do?
A: Go to settings, Privacy, Privacy Guard, All apps, long press Google Services, and deny/disable wake-locks! (Thanks to @Paget96 for the solution)
Q: Which version should I install?
A: (For L5)If you're on CM11 Beta 9.2+ or a ROM based on its sources, then use latest beta release!
Else, use Beta 0.1.4
However, Beta 0.1.4 does not have latest features of SKernel.
Beta 0.1.4 has only over clock, under clock and undervolt (on 800MHz)
Use only if your current ROM isn't CM11 Beta 9.2+ based!
(For L7) Use the latest ROM available, or you can test on other ROMs but you may face some issues. There is absolutely no harm in testing tho!
Q: Why am I getting flickers?
A: You're on a wrong version of kernel, ie, kernel is slightly incompatible (due to new KK ion), try switching between Beta 0.1.4 and latest release!
Q: Where can I find Beta 0.1.4
A: Go to Original SKernel Thread. It can be found in older releases on mediafire
Q: WiFi doesnt work for me
A: Use the kernel I made for CyanHacker ROM (available on the thread)

thanks for testing, hows it?
do you get any issues on ril?
Deepsleep?
Kernel is good but its not smooth as I hoped it will be. Maybe that's just the p705 version on p700 not working well. And how do I chech if there is deepsleep or not?
Edit: BTW I am on last Imers CM11 3152015
Ok my friend @skyinfo
Kernel is good, I like it, here is full review.
I saw that there is 400.01mb of ram instead of 402.98mb (i think)
There is no deep-sleep
Freqs going to 1008mHz there is no oc, also I don't see 96mhz freq which is mentioned in first post.
I like that kernel have frandom entropy, much faster I check entropy levels with my L Speed mod, and goin much faster
Also, device have lags more than with default cm11 kernel
Wifi work fine
RIL is there, work good, both 2g and 3g working, bluetooth working, everything is working
I know that this is little things, also I know that you will fix it today
And I know what are you trying to say that THLG update L5 more than L7
Waiting for the next release
This zip in attachment is for p705 users which use the latest CM11 by imer, this is default kernel
Thanks sky again for your awesome work
I know that you will fix all today

FAQ
F.A.Q. - Read this before complaining!
1. My phone exploded, HELP!
A: I don't answer to problems without a log. The log file is in /proc/last_kmsg. Paste it on hastebin.com and link it on your post. Logcats are useless for Kernel purposes, don't bother posting them.
2. This kernel works on Y or X rom?
A: Works on all CM13 based roms. Not for stock roms!!
3. OMG BATTERY SUCKZ, ITZ DEAD IN 45 MINUTES, HELP!
A: As you can imagine I don't build kernels to decrease battery life. All the battery life problems come from your apps, either Facebook, or Maps, or some Location Service being enabled etc etc. Check your damn wakelocks and fix them, the kernel is not responsible for them.
4. How do I flash this?
A: Read the OP, theres a reason why I added instructions on it.
5. What is a data loss? Did I just had one?
A: Data loss is simply having the connection cut for X periods of time, usually few seconds. Grey bars means the device is not connected to Google services for some weird reason, but you'll still have internet connection.
6. OP is arrogant, I'm gonna call the Internet Police?
A: Deal with it.[/QUOTE]
Info
Many thanks to showp1984 for this info
What is msm_mpdecision?
100% kernel based multi core decision! (should cpu1/2/3 be online or not?)
This is a special version modded by neobuddy Plus the idle frequency and some load thresholds have been adjusted by me.
Some Configuration:
startdelay = time until mpdecision starts doing it's magic (20000)
delay = time between checks (130)
pause = if something else plugs in the cpu, fall asleep for 10000ms (10 secs)
scroff_single_core = if the screen is off, don't plug in cpu1/2/3. Additionally: Unplug all cpus except cpu0 when screen is turned off (1)
enabled = enable(1) or disable(0) mpdecision. This does not affect scroff_single_core!
min_cpus = min cpus to be online, cannot be < 1. Default: 1
max_cpus = max cpus to be online, cannot be > 4. (if you set it to 2 and min_cpus to 1 you will basically have a dualcore) Default: 4
idle_freq = a value against that will be checked if a core +/- is requested. (600 MHz)
mpdecision's input event boost, aka project butter
This will boost your min cpu speed if you touch the screen or press a button and gives you full control.
In those events the min cpu freq will be risen to a predefined value on every online cpu. This boosts overall reaction times and smoothness a lot. (works similar to the qcom mpdecision binary)
So here's the surprise
Hello folks,
I am using my own optimised builds since initial phase of CM13. Rom and kernel are both build with Uber 5.2.1 and few more optimisations on the kernel (It's same like in the first post). The Uber Toolchain developer said due to new neon optimisations in Uber toolchains, the battery life has increased by 25%. Well using since a long time, I almost get 6hrs+ SOT(Ofcourse will vary with you) and a mindblowing performance. So I am going to provide weekly Uber CM13 builds with optimisations(It is somewhat close to pf-cm by Diamond Bond). The people interested, could use it , It will stay really close to CM and few picks here and there. I would really appreciate feedbacks I am using the build posted and it's really rock stable.
Download :-
All optimised buildshttps://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=44644
Installation :-
A clean wipe is mandatory.
Wipe cache,dalvik cache, system, data
Flash the zip
Flash gapps ( I use slim zero gapps)
Reboot, Enjoy!

Check #4th post for the Optimised cm13 builds, Really didn't feel like making a new thread..
Is it fully functional, Like Working mobile data , camera Themes Etc... Is there any way you can provide delta updates to ur rom instead of downloading the whole file.. I'm currently using cm 13 which has no Major issues as of now , so is this rom(dec 2 build) Recommend or should I wait for future builds ?
Thanks IA
