Bootloader Unlock - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I have a Verizon HTC One that I purchased on the device payment plan. I have searched here and you tube to see if I can unlock the bootloader to install custom roms. I know it has the old bootloader version of 1.54. Any help will be great before my return Window closes.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2

No hope of boot loader unlock on that firmware currently. Only option is send to sonic for s-off. Or change carriers to att or someone else and get a one from them, I returned my Verizon one and did just that and couldn't be happier.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Verizon has blocked the bootloader from being unlocked via HTCDev. Currently, the ONLY way to unlock is to send it to Sonic. Visit this thread:

Well thanks community. Looks like I will be returning it. Only reason I tried was because of the radio being better than in my note 2. I may give moto a try

So you are against sending it out to get s-off'd by sonic? That's a permanent root for you...
If not, do some research before you purchase a new $600 device. If root is a MUST for you please take time to make sure a new phone will fit your needs in this matter before you waste their time with return of an otherwise GOOD product.
I apologize if this sounds snarky.... that's not my intent.

If you kept your old phone, reactivate that one, send your One to Sonic to get S-Off (for a very reasonable fee... the java cards are expensive!), then when you get it back, reactivate the one. Done and done!

I did keep my old phone but the simple solution is to just return and wait on the one max

Sonic's s-off was quick and cheap. If you like this phone go for it. You'll be able to flash whatever you want then.

more development will be on the htc one maxx than this phone (unfortunately HTC kinda did again - what they did with the HTC Inc4g I just hope this community actually stays and doesn't leave), not saying that it will get S-OFF faster, but it will have more of a community than us, which = more bounty money = more developers working on exploits. Personally I can't use a phone bigger than 5' large. Again, this is just an opinion from word around the water coolers.

Quick and dirty version of how.
Visit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427960 for information.
Go to http://htc.s26tech.com/ to purchase the S-OFF option for the One, send it off and wait for it to come back.

HTC One/M7

HTC's announcement for their newest phone is today (in a couple minutes, really). A video was posted as a preview, which you can watch here, but it isn't in English. It's a pretty good looking phone with some decent specs but overall I think HTC just makes some weird decisions. Calling this device the HTC One after they've already released HTC One X/S/V etc. Seems backwards to me.
Anybody possibly going to be moving to this phone after the Inc 2, or for those of you on newer phones like the DNA/Inc 4g will you be jumping ship this early? My upgrade is in July so I'll probably give it a shot but ultimately I think I will end up with the Galaxy S IV (a sure-fire for development down the road, and for straight spec-power) or potentially the rumored Motorola X.
Specs Quick Reference:
4.7" Full HD screen
Snapdragon 600 processor (Quad-Core)
2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage
2,300 mAh battery
4.1.2 Jelly Bean
My next phone will haveto have on screen keys. I was thinking the HTC One but now I'm just hoping the X-phone is real. I fear it'll probably have an amoled display though(not really a fan). I could get past it if everything else was in order.
Hi guys, I just found the HTC One section on xda
Its not linked on the portal yet

No way I would buy another HTC phone. Hoping the Motorola X is real. And that it won't be locked when it comes out. Weary of anything Verizon really. Coverage may force me to stay with them though.

I know that feel.
If Motorola X doesn't work out soon....I'll be on an iPhone
Until Google and Big Red get their sh*t together. Then I'll be back!
I'm just gonna wait till a phone with the Snapdragon 800 is announced. Until then, I think I'll wait. My GS3 is good enough at the moment and the Xperia Z is perfect.

You can go into a store, have them move you from JUMP! to JUMP! 2. The only difference between the 2 different programs is that JUMP! 2 requires you to pay off half the device to upgrade; which can be done at any time. No more 6 month waiting period. If you qualify for $0 down, you would be spending more money going that route, but if you like to upgrade all the time, it might be useful! I work for T-Mobile, that's how I know this info.

There is no 6 month waiting period. After the initial 6 months wait you don't have to wait.
The only difference between the two is
Old - 2 upgrades per year(not every 6 months), any amount owed is paid off
New - Upgrade any time a long as 50% is paid off.
I have already used 2 jumps already on one of my lines and I am about to do it again later today for the M8.

So, I am only 3 months into my "time" with T-mobile, and I have a LG Flex that I pay monthly on, with no money down.
I am in the "old" jump program.
What you are saying, is that I can take my Flex in, today, tell them to move me to "Jump 2", and trade it in for an M8, and I dont have to pay off anything on the Flex, and I can "start fresh" with an M8, with no money down? (I have great Credit)

The only wait period is when you start jump.
Also when you do your second jump to the beginning of where you did the first jump.
For example I can't jump again until January next year for my two lines. My lines are stuck with the S5 and M8.

Specs aside, you have me on the fact this is made to flash custom ROMs without the manufacturer or carrier bloat.
It's about time a company says, "here is a high end device. We are going to give you some awesome features, but if you want, do with as you will... And BTW, here is how you do it."
If the phone had the same specs as the gs4 and had this idea I would buy it. Just the idea behind it is what sold it for me. I will be getting one whether or not I get it for a $1

Nothing mentions carrier specific devices so i thought BINGO.
I guess those who are so smart that can hack the phone are not so smart to post basic information.
Its ok, i find my self just as dumb sometimes.
I have fallen into the same trap with NOTE 4.
It was DAYS after i discovered that to root NOTE 4 phone has to be developers edition.
Yet so many posts about rooting note 4, even here on this forum.

I meant the s5 man...there's a lot of phones locked up with no help on vzw anymore. At least the m9 can be completely freed.

you mean "cant" ?
no root method for this phone so am not sure what u talking about.
I just want a similar performance phone with micro SD card support that can be rooted with no hassle.
Anything out there as such besides galaxy ?
i dont like galaxy caz its button are too close to the screen and they are too big making it hard to use with one hand.

NO, he meant "CAN".
Maybe Java card method isn't what you desire....but it does in fact work to completely free the Verizon m9.
Good luck finding any Verizon device which doesn't require some amount of "hassle" to unshackle.

As others have stated, it is Verizon who is the issue.
Check this thread and see if there is someone local with a Java card or xtc-clip that can get you s-off and unlocked.

I know that. Even with local guy, i'd still have to pay.
Phone battery life is horrible so im returning it already and already purchased LG G4.

I think you have a bad unit or get horrible reception(I lean more towards bad unit, it happens). I have 3 users with the VZW M9 in Long Island NY and all 3 of them get great battery life. In fact 2 of them are definitely power users and they only rave about it.
Good luck with the G4. It's a nice device to hold you over until the M10 drops!
