htc one x weird spot on the screen !! [Help] [video added] - HTC One X

Hi guys ..
so i have an hox and i bought a new back case for it today ,and i noticed that when i put the case on the phone a weird spot appear on the screen and it seems to be increasing in area if i applied some pressure on the screen ,,when i take the case off the spot disappear ,but i can see it if i pushed a little bit on the screen .. and again it increase the harder i push ... i toke a picture of it ,but the quality is bad "i don't have a good camera "
and i noticed that there is a gap between the outer glass and the phone ,,it's more noticeable at the bottom left edge of the phone ,and the soft key light leaks from that edge !!! :crying:
the phone has no warranty .. expired!!!
so if anyone knows what is that spot and how to get rid of it !!! plz help
thanks a lot ...and excuse my english
the phone was turned off when i did this video !!

I had a similar experience with a replaced HTC One X display and digitizer(as they come together in one package). The problem was that the replacement part was not original. That is probably the case here; the phone has had its screen replaced with a poor quality one.

My immediate response was going to be that it mut be dust as it's invisible on the close up but...
Did you use a flash for the photo?
No i didn`t. The photo was taken without flash. Now I can share original photo made of that "defective" pixels:

I had a spec of dust under the screen of my original Desire. Today I took delivery of my replacement Desire and this also has dust under the screen.
I'm not sure what to do next.

Bad screen quality control ?

Hello , so I bought today a new Nexus 7 32GB Wifi Only , after i played with it a bit i decided to check for dead pixels , and have found one , its located on the navigation bar , so when in portrait you can't see it , but in landscape you do notice it right next to the edge of the screen .
Now i am not sure what to do , even if I am able to get a replacement unit nobody can guaranty that it will be perfect , for all I know I can get a device with a dead pixel in the middle of the screen and not on the side where its less noticeable ..
Does any one have a word of advice? I have read about a lot of people replacing nexus's one by one and still can't get a "perfect' device.
BTW, its even manufactured in September , so its not some old defective butch i guess .

If it doesn't have light bleed or any other issues, my advice is don't replace it.
My 1st Nexus 7 2013 32GB had 1 dead pixel near the side. After advice from this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387900) I replaced it, again and again. I'm on my 5th unit now, and two months wasted, I have still not seen a perfect unit. Infact my current unit has a dead pixel and major light bleed (none of the other units had light bleed). Now, the store won't accept my returns and I'm stuck with it. I WISH I kept the 1st nexus, had 2 extra months enjoying it, instead of repeated re-visits to the store, waiting for more stock, and discovering it's worse than before.
I think the vast majority of people who have said their unit is perfect are simply unable to notice a dead pixel (they are tiny). I've been through 5 and they all suffered from dead pixels. Unlucky or not, 5 out of 5 with bad pixels is terrible statistics. My guess is 1 out of 10 is perfect.
Its really sucks ... The pixels are so small but yet in landscape you do notice it on backgrounds like white and light gray ... When portrait the navigation bar covers it so its not that bad I guess ...
The delivery guy should come tomorrow afternoon so maybe I will call in the morning to cancel , and just stay with my current device ..

Up to you, many people are saying their unit is perfect, so maybe I just have terrible luck. I tell ya, you won't be happy if you get one that suffers from light bleed.
I'd return this again if I could, but Future Shop has basically told me to jump in a lake after I returned so many units for dead pixels.
The sad thing that this are latest batches , new stock that came to the store just yesterday .. I would get if there was poor q/c on the first units , but things like that should be fixed within weeks , poor q/c after 4 months of production is a complete joke ...
To be honest this is my first Asus product , when I buy computer parts I always go for Gigabyte and others , Asus products are always overpriced , which is funny as their q/c is so bad .
@Overon
I felt that the black dot was on top of the screen and not part of the screen, so i turned on the flashlight on my phone ,looked at the display when off and its a dark particle between the display and glass , now i think i will just keep it and live with this dust under the glass .
I am sure its better then having a real hardware problem.. annoying yes, but as you can relate - could be much worse.
Well, I got my Nexus 7 back .. the said they didn't found anything with it , so the only factory restored it and send me back ..when I turned it on I saw that they didn't restore it at all, interesting thing i notice a minor light bleed on the top and bottom of the screen , which i don't remember being there before...
Today i noticed a red small red spot on a black background ... so ASUS what's next with your quality ?

[Q] low light after screen replacement

Hi all,
I've replaced my lcd screen, and i'v got some troubles....
the HOX boots up, but with very low light and screen glittering....
it's as if the screen could not get enough power...
Any ideas ??
thanks for your help
J
So long as nothing else was disturbed during the swap I'd say it's either a bad connection between LCD & motherboard which can be checked e.g. by cleaning the contacts, or it's a bad part. I fitted a cheap replacement screen to an iPhone recently & it was terrible quality - poor fit & poor connections, so could be dodgy screen.

I don't think it's bad part.. if I switch back to my old LCD (only glass was broken) I get the same dim screen
I read that it could be some burned fuse or component on motherboard
I'm afraid I 've lost my HOX
Ouch doesn't sound good. Maybe buy a second hand HOX with smashed screen?

No Display after dropping phone

Hi,
Unfortunately for me i dropped my phone and cracked my tempered glass in several places. gladly the screen underneath was perfectly fine after drop however, it has developed a fault as the screen won't turn on at all. I tried turning it off and restarting and although i can hear the boot up logo sound i see no picture at all. i can receive calls but cannot answer due to screen not displaying.
The screen had four main pressure cracks.... one is top left, one on the ear speaker, one bottom middle and one bottom left of phone. hopefully you can see it in picture.
Can you give advice on what to try or do to resolve this? will i need a new screen or disassemble to see what the issue is?
I've only had the phone for 2/3 months at most
Thanks in advance
looks like i will answer my own question....
i bought a replacement lcd & digitiser, one complete unit and swapped the necessary components over to new screen. all is working and good. not sure if the screen is repairable but there are other parts inside this screen worth selling on. it still has a non cracked immaculate screen along with the charging port and other stuff inside old screen.
at a cost of £70, i consider this an expensive fix
Thanks for the input kakawak
cheers
