Keyboard Dock / keyboard Docking Station - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories

has anyone heard any rumours about a keyboard dock for the new galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition? i know samsung used to have one before and cancelled it; but i can only wonder if they've attempted to make another go of it, or even if the older one will be compatible with the new 2014 edition.

Here is one on eBay:

Very happy that its looking like there will be a lot of accessories for this tablet

Ahhh my fault, should have been more specific. I meant keyboard dock.

No prob...it would be nice to see it get a keyboard dock but I'm not holding my breath. The closest I've seen is a Bluetooth keyboard/case combo like this:
http://www.amazon.com/COD-Bluetooth...=1380487558&sr=8-16&keywords=galaxy+note+2014
At least there are accessories already unlike some tablets I won't mention

It would be nice if Logitech would make a keyboard case just like the one that they have for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 for this tablet!

Actually I think the logitech keyboard case should fit since the galaxy tab 3 and galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition seem to have the same dimensions

You think so? Because according to the Samsung Website, the Tab 3 is 9.57" x 6.93" x 0.31" while the Note 2014 is 9.6" x 6.8" x 0.3"

Careful, that doesn't seem to be true.
According to AnandTech, the dimensions are
243.1 x 171.4 x 7.9mm (Note) vs.
210.8 x 135.6 x 7.95mm (Tab 3)

Yah I was looking at the dimensions from a couple days ago, most of the tech websites have updated their specs with their reviews

This is for Samsung note 10.1. Not sure it will fit but it looks nice. Pretty pricey too.

I have the old note 10.1 and that keyboard dock in your link. It won't fit since the old dock uses a proprietary connection and the 2014 edition uses a microusb

well darn, i'd really like a way to replicate my trnasformer xD. a bluetooth keyboard would work, but all that'll do is drain my battery wayyy faster....
EDIT: how cool would it be if we got a keyboard kind of like the surface tablets.

the note already takes a good bit to charge, and the battery life isn't amazing. drop a bluetooth keyboard on there and you're gonna need a charger on hand most of the time.

I'm not a fan of any case that covers the bezel of the tablet with leather. They look so cheap and the tab usually flops around inside, often sliding down when the tablet is in folio mode.

i sort of agree with that, i like the leather look samsung went for on this tablet, but if i don't cover the edges there's no way i can get anything i want the case to do done. it won't be able to stand, or tilt or anything. but i do understand the point you're making for the leather ones.

[Review] Official Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Folio Case

Yes most may not even know this exists, but I got my hands on one of these, needless to say I'm totally loving this.
The case is made out of a rexine like material, feels great in the hands and has a very grippy feel to it.

The Tab clips on to the tab quite securely so you have a peace of mind there. It also has two step vertical inclinement steps to let you hold the tab in place while you use a hardware keyboard to make your typing easy. But what if you prefer laying your tablet at a lesser angle, closer to the surface? never mind this case has that covered as well, the back of the case has a pop out stand to allow you to do so.

It does how ever quite much to the weight (not sure how much) but doesn't seem to add much to the thickness. the tablet still feels great to handle.
Short review - I'd give a 8/10 for the whole experience, I'm also willing to answer any question that one may have regarding this case.

Honestly I'm not sure, I got it along with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 when I bought it - I was told it is the "Premium Cover" and it was free for everyone who bought it when they pre-booked it
Wait, how is it different from the book case that already has 5 page thread here?

You have the USA model. Rest of the world generally gets a Samsung on the front.
I want this case. It looks like a folio version of the bookcover case. Anyone know where to find these?
Same here! I want!
Does it have some sort of snap-shut mechanism when in the closed position?
I have found a replica for this case. It's on Gmarket (English Version) and it's called the Anymode VIP Case. It comes in 4 different colors (green seems hard to find). It is around $70 shipped! I'm still considering it as I'm scared of its weight. Looks a bit on the heavy side despite of the descriptions.

Yes it does add to the weight, but not a lot - at least for the official folio case, can't say the same for the Anymode case
Any way I can get a discount for doing an in-depth review?! I would love to own this case as it seems to answer all my needs. But forking over $70 is a bit too rich for me. =/
I just bought my Galaxy tab 10.1 4 days ago from Dubai UAE and I got the exact same folio case for free. I have a GT-P7500 3G/wifi.
How can we get this case now in the states? This is pretty much the ideal case IMO.

Galaxy Note Stand

I bought an IPad stand for my 7 inch Galaxy Tab P1000 and although it is a bit big it supports the Tab in portrait and landscape mode and allows the free flow of air around the Tab which helps to keep it cool and the viewing angle can also be adjusted.
I've discovered a similar stand for the IPhone which I think would also work in the same way for the Galaxy Note but can only find one UK supplier (see link below) but it is not in stock. Does anyone know anywhere else this stand can be bought in the UK?
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/universal-smart-stand-for-mobile-phones-p32691.htm
Oh wow, that stand is epic. I was thinking of getting a case with a stand but this is wonderful.
Found it here too: http://shop.brando.com/universal-smart-istand_p6460c359d66.html

I ordered a spiderpodium

Not sure if the arms will be able to fit around the Note but if not I will give to my GF for her Galaxy S.
I ordered from brando.com and they just shipped it out, so perhaps try from there (not to mention it's cheaper there)

I'm using this, great for movies.

Just like with my SGS2, the Samsung's spare battery charger for the Note is simple, light, convenient for carrying a spare battery, and works great as a stand--vertical or horizontal. It's a proportionally larger version of the same SGS2 accessory.
Nice. I like the stand in the OP. Ordered from Brando as did others, cheaper and in stock, any idea how long they take to deliver to the UK...?

Looks nice, but it weighs as much as a regular phone!
Here's a super lightweight one:
http://pocketnow.com/how-to/how-to-build-a-phone-stand-with-a-business-card
I actually use the flip cover as a stand. I have attached a lanyard to the speaker grille and the flip cover nestles in an indent on the lanyard.
It just occurred to me that the Tetrax X-way, which I bought for my car, would be quite functional as a phone stand. I suppose the rubber is a bit too soft and it'll get smashed up though.

Got an email from brando, mine has been shipped!

Keyboard - this looks great!

Yeah that's what I thought at first, but don't forget the note 10 is not really out all that long... Plus people might not have found it yet, did you already see it before this post for example.
One of the problems with any keyboard for a tablet this small is that it is really hard to type is you have big hands.

I'd wait for a while and see if any comments come up, it's been out a few months now and this kind of product if it was good people would be jumping at the chance to buy it.

Do you mean the pro 12.2 keyboard from samsung works on the 10.1 2014? I once thought of the Logitech PRO 12.2 keyboard for the 10.1 2014 but from the photo, obviously when we use this keyboard, we need to insert the device which does not fit.
I am using Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard that is for the Note 12.2 Pro. It is compatible with the Note 10.1 (p-601).
It is very nice and light weight.
I have used a keyboard (Rapoo) but it is broken after 3 months without any cause.. It was a very bad one and it worth nothing.
Could you please post the link on this product to avoid confusion? Thanks.

Not sure why people are calling the Samsung-branded Bluetooth Keyboard the one for the Tab/Note PRO 12.2. It doesn't have that compatibility restriction on the site. Also, what BT keyboard would require a root?
If people are talking about the Logitech-brand Keyboard for the Tab/Note PRO 12.2, that's a different story.

For an On screen keyboard there could be nothing better than the Note Pro 12.2 Keyboard . Its absolutely professional . I just punched out an entire doc with ease just now , love it !
But yeah for this onscreen keyboard you do need root .

Has anybody tried this keyboard case ?
It's meant for the the new Tab 4 10.1 but the dimensions are pretty darn close

mmm seems close enough, with the Note 2014 smaller. but would it just fall out of the case?
Update - I notice there is a review here that says its a mixed bag when it comes to the fit, but it's not clear whether the owner has the 2014 10.1 tablet or the original one

These seem to be a couple of decent keyboard options from mainstream suppliers
This belkin keyboard case says its compatible with the 2014 10.1 Note

zagg key for ipad just about fits...

Is $77 a good price for the Logitech K810? That seems a little steep! Is there a comparable keyboard that is of similar quality that anyone owns and likes?

My favorite keyboard. Bought it for $99, and we'll worth the price.

I got it today and after a little tweak it works great. All you need to do is to detach the lower clip from the case carefully, shorten it a bit and then glue it back. The tablet sits securely in the case, it is not a perfect fit, you cant take the s-pen out as the upper clip covers it, the camera works well, the only flaw is that the flash is covered. All the other features work well, all the magnet clips work, you can securely close the case, the keyboard itself works flawlessly as well, in fact I am writing using it.
For what it's worth, I've been really happy with the Windows 8 Logitech Tablet Keyboard (search B009JPBPWO on Amazon and it will pop up). I bought the Windows 8 version because it was cheaper than the android or apple versions at the time.

Also, I did try the Microsoft Wedge Keyboard, and the keys were uncomfortably tight. The key faces are full size as advertised, but the pitch (spacing between the keys) is really cramped. I returned it after a couple of days.
I don't consider myself to have overly large hands, I'm a man with with what I would call medium or average sized hands. Perhaps this keyboard might be more comfortable to someone with thinner, daintier fingers.

Let's talk about the S Pen on the Tab S4

What is going on with it? I bought the Tab S3 last week and the Tab S4 this week, was going to return the S3 and keep the S4, but I like the S3 a lot and it really is great for reading textbooks and PDFs on, where if you try that on the S4 it would actually be smaller due to how much would have to be cut off to display the PDF. Anyways, back on topic, the new version of the SPen. To me it's worse in every way imaginable from last years.
Pros:
-fatter
Cons:
Everything else:
-The tip is rounder
-The materials feel cheaper
-The button is harder to find on it
-It looks a lot cheaper.
Luckily it functions the same, but I don't know why they went this route. Like their type cover this year, it just gives off a rushed vibe. Thankfully they're both EMR and as such can be used interchangeably. Though I wished both would include an eraser option. I have a really old Samsung alternative SPen for the Note Pro that does have the eraser on it and it still works as it should with all the apps that support it.
Personally I love this stylus. While I haven't used a S3 stylus for much (just testing in stores) I really do like this one.
Pros
- Roundness to it gives it a better feel to a real pen.
- Still EMR
- Light Weight (im sure the other ones are similar)
Cons
- Yes button is a little hard to find. Would of been nicer a little closer to the tip I'd think
- It looks cheap and a little rough around the mid section silver band
which one looks worse/cheaper: the white or black s-pen?
Must it be charged, and if so how? If not how does it work?

No charging required.
It's tech is the same to that of the past notes and the S3.

To be honest, I'll be a lot happier if Samsung provides the Bluetooth S-Pen here as well, and they'll charge when you attach it to the tablet side (placement like surface pens)...
Well, I can dream, right?
Dreaming aside, if I remember correctly, the first time that we were able to grab Bluetooth S-pen capability is by checking Tab S4 system dump?
So, does that mean that somehow, we can get Bluetooth S-pen capability in the future on this device?

If I remember the samsung press event, supposedly that bluetooth feature should work with ANY android device, not just Samsung. I think it was at the tail end of the S Pen features section. So, yes it should work, but the charging would be the only hurdle. Which you could be on to something. A lot of people would use this tablet in portrait mode and if it only requires 30seconds to charge the supercapacitor, then using the magnets near the pogo pin pads should do the trick.
If you want a clip on the pen, take a look at the Space Pen clip on Amazon. Fits perfectly.
I lost my pen New ones are £50. I feel this is a bit of a ripoff but may be down to no stock anywhere! Anyway does anyone know if the Notes s9 s pen works on the Tab S4. Can't find any details anywhere. Cheers

I am using my old Note 4 pen and seems all functions work fine, so would guess the Note 9 will also work
The Note 5 S pen works as well.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072N31S7C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 have gone as low as $27 here in the US. Maybe you can find something locally but it is a good substitute for the S Pen until you can afford a new one.
I'm using my spare spen from my Note 7 in a 3D printed "case", no problems with it so far

That is correct the S-Pen is powered by the electromagnetic grid beneath the display. However the SGTS4's S-Pen doesn't have bluetooth features like the Note 9.
The best I use so far, better than the iPad one
