[Q] Speaker Boost - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Got my T-Mobile note 3. Already rooted. Must say it is pretty dope but coming from a HTC one the speaker quality is such a let down. Now I don't expect to have the same sound quality but has anyone seen a way to boost the Volume.? Back when I had the note 2 there was this guide to manually edit the sound levels or something like that.. Just hoping that someone comes up with something

They will, they always do. Love this place.

Viper doesn't seem to be work properly. Has anyone else had better luck? It just keeps asking to Dow load the driver even after supposedly doing so and rebooting.

I've never gotten Viper to work correctly.

I've never been able to get Viper to work either. The S4 has a volume boosting mod, but I have no idea if it would work.

I used ViPER on my Note 2 and will not go without it on my Note 3. The first thing I did after rooting was install it. It's MUCH easier than it use to be. It's just downloading a 2 zip files, removing the 4.? apk's from them, placing them on your N3, installing them, opening them up. The drivers are auto downloaded now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
On the ViPER page [link above], go to the download section and download:
ViPER4Android FX
Important: v2.3.x update is special. Must read special instructions above!
FX version v2.3.0.1 (Android 2.3~4.3): MediaFire
Notice: Please install v2.3.0.1 as USER app.
and this
ViPER4Android XHiFi
XHiFi version v2.1.0.2-1 (Only Android 4.x): MediaFire
Note: Driver version will shown as 2.1.0.2 (See In-app Changelog and make sure there's 2102-1)
Extract the files to your desktop.
Copy
ViPER4Android_v2301_Android_4.x.apk
and
ViPER4Android_XHiFi.apk to your SD card and install them
Run FX/XHiFi app from drawer, allow root access.
When driver installation prompt, choose Yes to "Install/Update". (V4A auto detect and install correct driver)
After installation done, Reboot device.
Go into Settings/Device/Sound/Music Effects and select ViPER4Android FX
It's ready to go. Open up ViPER4Android FX and XiHiFI and enable both.
That was the easy part. Getting the sound the way you want it is the hard part. A lot of tweaking.

Question about a requirement for an app

I was looking for an audio eq for my phone so I can adjust the software mid and highs so I can get cleaner sound with my jl w7 subs, however never found one. Seen power amp has a 10 bar eq but I don't wanna buy it just for the eq.
Anyways I found something like it, and it says it requires root, busy box, and s-off <---- my question is what is this because I've never seen it before as a requirement for anything.
Samsung SGH-i927:
CWMR Touch v4.0.0.1
Keyboard fix
Superuser 3.2r3 ARM Optimized
LiteKernel v4.1
S-off i believe is for htc phones, but i could be wrong.. it security-off for the system files..
I dnt think u have to worry bout it with sammy though..
All u need is root and busybox.

REQ: GNex/4.1 screenshot/camera and touch sounds.

Put simply, i absolutely hate the N4 4.2 camera and touch sounds. GNex ones were so much better.
So a simple request for someone to upload those sounds and tell me exactly where they are because i haven't been able to find it.
Also, if it could be a flashable zip that would be awesome so i can just reflash after every aokp update.
Best bet would be to Go to the GNex section and download a ROM then extract and move (using a file explorer) and there you have it..idk if camera would work...it should tho

yeah i did manage to find them. Hoping i can toss them in via root explorer, but in the past sometimes that hasn't worked.
also a bit of pain to redo constantly with rom updates.
and yeah, tossed them in, and after rebooting first time, they worked. second time, no sounds work.
And this is why i don't like doing this manually, seems 95% of the time something goes wrong. now i have no UI sounds.
Well 5th times the charm.

Xposed Multiwindow Mod?

I'm looking to possibly get a Galaxy Note 8.0 down the road for a custom dash install for my car. I was wondering if there was a possibility to get the Xposed Multiwindow Mod from the Galaxy Note II to work on this device.

It works fine. Please do not comment if you are unsure of things, because you can start a huge row for developers.
I am running it right now on my tablet, and it runs great.
It works perfectly for me!

Really? Can you run Spotify and navigation side by side?
I was able to get it working also.
Folks should be aware that it is very difficult to use the CWR tools to get rid of it again at this time, though you can do it manually via ADB.
Also that Odin recovery does not wipe out installed apps, which I did not know and am happy about. (I tried changing dpi using a different one of the Xposed modules; it did not work and my phone bootlooped. I had the uninstall around, but was not able to install it via CWR.)
The multiwindow one works nicely. There's also an app in the play store that works for enabling multiwindow view for many more apps.
I don't use Spotify so I don't know about that one in particular.
Out of curiosity what is the diff with this and multi window mgr. Be gentle i am using mwm but int in the diff.

I don't know, MWM just didn't Work for me.

It's very similar to multiwindow manager, honestly. MWM is a little funky in that the app itself doesn't know that the Note 8 exists yet. I think I told it I was using a note II and it let me add whatever I wanted to multiwindow mode.
The one thing I have not tested yet with the new way of adding multiwindow functionality to the device is the camera. With MWM running, if multiwindow mode is enabled the camera locks up the device.

I haven't tried the camera yet while using it but I don't take many pix with a tablet. For MWM to work you have to disable the patch it mentions when you launch it first. Other than that it works with all my apps. I also love multi touch gestures app.Update just used the camera with no issues. First time I tried it. Pretty good image for a tablet.
I'm using the Xposed method and while the camera doesn't fc there is apparently no shutter button. In fact I'm typing this from one window with the camera in the other.
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 2
And I have to admit that this is far from my go-to camera - but occasionally I'll launch the app accidentally or on purpose, and it'd be nice to not have it hink out on me.
The fix for me has been to disable multiwindow mode in the system preference, and that may well work for the Xposed mwindow modification as well.
Xposed is a framework with developer interest from the companion Samsung devices and it may allow for other things to arrive fairly quickly on the device, before a full rom is ready.
This is awesome; I'm definitely going to be getting one of these for my dash install later this year

Flashaholics/themeaholics

Hi, my names Chad and im a flashaholic. It all started when I got my Sprint Galaxy Note II. After rooting and flashing my first rom there was no looking back.
I have found a daily driver and I'm not going to drop any names. Every dev involved with creating these mods and roms for this device are amazing. While performance is important, I like moding, EVERYTHING.
I would like to know what everyone else likes about flashing roms. What is important to you? Maybe some screenshots of mods you've done to your phone?
Here's my keyboard. (=

I actually flash a lot less than I did when I have the Evo 4G. I'm more modded, but I'm mainly just changing files.
I'm running doexidezed stock MC2, Persues Kernel 3.6, with the 4-1 reboot, all mutliwindow mods. Changed the Spen detection sounds to ligh sabler, changed boot anmination to Andy's Pee On Apple, changed boot sound to Lexus ISF start up and engine rev, disable shut off animations, using only one homescreen page (no widgets), use the Trev E Mod WiFi tether beta 3.3 and folder mount.
I'm interested in the cyogenmod when it's out of alpha. I'm waiting for the mutliboot mod to get completed. It's getting closer on the international. BootManager on the Evo4G was the best app for flashaholics. You could have a daily and as many ROMs as your SD card could hold. I usually had three--barebones Sense rom, Cyogenmod (Android 2.3), and Cyogenmod (Android 4). Here and there I would have a forth or fifth to fiddle with.
The other rom I'm interested in trying out, and it's extremely early, is more of port of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I've seen a couple screen shots, pretty sweet if you're into the mutlitwindow/mutlitask thing.
Right now, deoxidized stock meets my needs well. Nothing, other than Google Wallet, appears to be borked. And a few mods, I able to more.
My name is Jamice Welbon and I am a flashaholic I first introduced to flashing through my friend Treo Central.com he get me hooked flashing my Treo 600, 650, 700p and 710wp but soon after that treocentral.com was not cutting it for me so I tried ppc geeks. com and started flashing my touch pro 2.
I tried every windows ROM I could find and even experimented with some android. With the introduction of Windows phone and the stifled future future ROM development I knew I needed something stronger.
I went to Xda developers.com and started using Android on a regular bases. I first purchases the Samsung Epic then I tried the Epic Touch 4g and I am currently using the Galaxy Note 2. I have customized my boot animation (My Little Pony FIM), converted my phone into tablet mode, changed my font, added a hack version of Google Wallet, but I am currently using a non hack version since the Note 2 is now an official supported device. I have a hacked mod to remove the unsupported device message from Google Wallet since my device is rooted.
I am currently using a ROM which is half touch wiz and half stock Android. The dialer and contacts are stock Android. I even put a mod on my phone where I can customize the DPI for every app on my phone. I can even open up as many apps as I want and have them floating on my phone's desktop. I am fening for the Galaxy Note 3.
I am currently thinking about modding my shut down screen.
I need help and that is why I am on this forum. It has affected my job and my relationships in a negative way.

Speaking of which........
I have only had one rom on this phone and i love the phone! I am currently running maks allstar rom and i am ready to try another. I was looking around and saw that there are some floating window mods now! WOOHOOOO SOLD!
I looked around and found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139684
So I assume im on MA7 with my current rom whatever that is and I need to get MC2 roms for the floating windows?
The choice between 5 roms what ever shall i do? Does anyone have any suggestions? I like bling and great sound mods and all the bells and whistles including wifi tether and lightsaber spen effects!
It seems like there are alot of different versions of this phone. I assume im in the right spot with a sprint note 2? The mackrom allstars has been working great.
Thank you much!
Flashing adventure
So i ventured off to my flashing adventure. I first tried jelly 16.0 which was pretty awesome and the flash works in regular browser which is AWESOME but it didnt seem to have floating window. I tried installing the apk switcher thingie and it didnt even show up. I found the thread for the floating multi window installed it and nothing..... I flashed the sprint zip file for it and then the phone wouldnt boot.
I installed wolfpack and i still dont have floating windows...... i am going to install the apk next and will update my progress
Ok so im supposed to have a toggle icon which i dont and waiting for answer in the rom forum. Also the flash doesnt work in the desktop version of the browser something that worked in jellie rom 16.0 =(
Im running MacksRom (Plain Jane MA7) at the moment and have multiwindow desktop mod. It's in xposed settings.

Go into xposed app settings and change the "system settings" "screen dp" from default to 800x1280, select save then reboot.

No. It's a framework work. As mentioned above, you just need install the Xposed framework APK. I've used it on a deoxidezed MA7 stock rom. MC2 is just more performance tweaks and bug fixes.
Ok i understand more but now i lost multiview
i did the installer i activated the plugins in teh installer i set the resolution on android system to 1280x800 i have rebooted and no multiview now. i cant get it back =(
Moon, check your pm's.

I finally got it worked out
I checked out the OP in jellyroms post where it talks about installing the framework. I factory reset cleared caches dalvik etc and reflashed. Once flashed i did exactly what it said minus the downloading the items because they were alread in the rom. Now i have multiwindow. I didnt mess with the DPI though only set the resolution to 1280x800 and it works. I am scared to use the DPI changer though because although it looks really super cool. I lost the multiview doing it. I even tried setting the multiview to the same dpi. the com-flash whatever file and reboot still no luck... So it does work but im in regular phone resolution which isnt bad i guess because you dont have to mess with all the apps dpis etc? the internet built in was FC'n during my mess of flashing etc.....
Any ideas or suggestions on why i lost the multiview? I would like to change the dpi at some point but i dont want to factory reset (which is what i had to eventually do to get the multiview back anyway.
Thank you for all that put up with my frantic questions.
Glad you got it up and working!

Changing SPen Sounds && More

Hey guys! Punk9 here!
I was wondering, back on the Note 2/3 there were threads up for changing SPen sounds, UI Sounds, battery mods, time/date mods (for instance to center it) and many other mods. I was wondering how everyone here has done that? How do you guys customize your set ups?
If we have enough participation and we get alot of ideas i woudn't mind keeping up a thread in themes and apps with all of your guys ideas.
Post screenshots if you guys want!
I'd like to know as well. I re-downloaded the note 2 lightsaber sounds thinking I could have some luck in getting that to work....but I cannot
Try out the free app on Google Play called "S Pen Toolbox". That's what I use and you can assign any sound you like for the S Pen.
Also, if you have any questions about it, just ask.
It's easy if you have root, you just need your sound in the same format as the original (mostly .ogg), root and a file manager that can see root (solid explorer is a good option). Just go to /system/media/audio/ui and rename the old sound to back it up (something like Pen_det_noti1.ogg.old) and then just copy your new sound over and give it the same name. Also, make sure it has the same permission as the old file (644 chmod). You may need to restart for it to take effect. You can also change the sound for low battery, camera shutter, etc here.
For all other UI things, just use xposed framework and Wanam Xposed. You can move the clock and do a whole lot of UI tweaks with that.
I use note buddy (primarily because it was the first one I learned about). I was going to try to figure out spend helper to see which I prefer.
Note buddy allows sPen and headset options. Works well for me.
