EU Xperia Z1 and US Dualshock 3 - Xperia Z1 Accessories

Hi guys, I would like to buy dualshock 3 gamepad for my xperia z1. My Z1 is european and i've found dualshock 3 in US version (CECHZC2U). Do you think there will be problem with connection between this two devices?

Its a controller so shouldn't be any problem lol... If it were a console, probably yes... However, don't take my word for it

Verizon GS3 - Sixaxis

Anyone with a Verizon GS3 try using a PS3 controller yet? I want to buy one but I'm not getting my GS3 until tonight so I can't try the Sixaxis Compatibility Test app yet.

I downloaded the compatibility checker and it says my VZW GS3 should be fine, but I haven't actually done the field testing yet.

I appreciate the app test. Hopefully someone who has tested it will chime in. Don't want to drop 40 bucks to find out it doesn't work
Was just playing critical strike using sixaxis with it last night with my gs3. Though i got tmobile, but it should work just fine for other carriers
Sent from my SGH-T999
I'm sure it'll work because all the others work, I'm just nervous
Does the six axis require root?

Yeah it does, at least for the Sixaxis Controller app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5ncGl4ZWxzdHVkaW9zLnNpeGF4aXNjb250cm9sbGVyIl0.
Make sure you buy a genuine controller. Chinese copies won't work.
I was able to use sixaxis just fine with my official Sony PS3 controller on my rooted Verizon Galaxy S3
Im running it and it works fine, currently playing Nova 3 with it.
Thanks for the replies, guys. Ordered one today. I'm also looking at the GameKlip in this section, which looks so badass. Only issue with it is it might not fit with my TPU case. Hopefully he can get a model to fit it with most gel cases.
Well, as convenient as wireless connection would be, I was able to connect my PS3 sixaxis to my TMo GS3 using my OTG USB adapter. Now I just need to look into getting a gameklip type holder.

Using USB OTG adapter to hookup PS3 controller on my Verizon S3 stock NO ROOT. Works well, was playing Dead Trigger with it. Root is only required if you want to use bluetooth to connect it.

The maker said if you give him the exact size of your phone with the case he could make a custom one for you. And he said if he said if it didn't fit you could get a refund I think.
I can confirm the xbox 360 controller is supported. The wireless one too, if you have the pc receiver.

Root is required if you want to map controls for games that don't support a controller. The majority unfortunately... This is done through the sixaxis app of course.

Yep, I just tried my wired one with a micro-usb-to-usb adapter (I didn't think it was even an OTG one, but maybe). Dead Trigger was WAY more satisfying!

The wireless xbox controllers "for windows" come with them. You should also be able to find them on ebay, etc.
I guess I’m confused. I downloaded N64oid and have a couple roms (Mario kart64/goldeneye) and they both work well using the on screen controls but when I plug in my PS3 sixaxis controller via OTG cable the controller will control things like navigating the home screens but once I’m in the game it does nothing. Pressing start takes me back to the home screen. Do I have to root in order for the PS3 controller to control my game controls?

I was having the same issue running a custom ROM (CleanROM 2.5), it was bugging the hell out of me and I didn't see anyone else having the same problem. What I did was restore back to factory (reflashed in my case), did not install ANYTHING except sixaxis and N64oid and it stopped for some reason. Then I rooted, with stock ROM, still worked great. No idea why restoring worked if anyone else has a work around please let me know.

Where in the states can I buy one? This is super cool!!!
yea, i want to pick one up too
nice that looks pretty cool. I wonder how long shipping takes?
i guess you gotta import one from the UK. there's some on ebay.
Very nice!
But very expensive. The exchange rate makes it effectively $60-70.

At that price you're better off using a PS3 controller + USB OTG adapter.
Even easier than that and much more convenient..get a Sixaxis ps3 wireless controller and reprogram the Bluetooth on it to match you s3 .. I use it all the time

What's easier with this option? You would need to use rubber band to use it (as the title says) as a handheld console
*Modern Handheld Gaming*
also, imagine the bad user experience u would get in a train or everywhere else, where u can't put your phone on a stand

I was thinking the same thing...
I haven't really had time to check, but any dvb-t stick that's been around for some time where the Linux kernel supports it "natively" should do, right?

That depends. I have a few and they do vary in how much power they suck out of the usb port. I have a Hauppauge Hybrid 900 (950 in the US) that gets very hot and drinks power like an alchie. I also have an Asus mini 3000 I got for my eeePC 700 that sips very genteelly. Both have native Linux support but since I bought the above dongle, I won't be trying those.
The other problem is that you would need some android TV software that could interact with those sticks. The programs on Google Play seem to be very hardware specific.

Does the RN5 Pro support OTG?

Hello guys. Does this device support OTG?
I have an OTG cable (received when i bought a pc controller) and it doesn't work. Should I try with another cable? Or it's just an illusion?
I have another question... somewhere on the web it seems that our device will receive Android 9 within the first quarther of 2019. Is this an illusion too?
works fine for me . Usb sticks are recognised and i can use a ps3 joypad to play games too . Try another cable and see how it goes

No just stock 10.2 and using a cheap Ps3 controller .. cheap as on £7.50 from argos lol
I tried an xbox controller but it wouldnt work

Question Non asus branded peripherals.

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck using other gamepads via usb c? I have a gamesir x2 pro and want to know if it'll work. I understand the port is off centre but I am planning on 3D printing a block to make it sit nicely... providing the phone recognises the gamepad.
Thanks
It has OTG support so, yes. Your gamepad will work
