This won't be easy and will certainly not work out of the box.
In the standard case the .apk file needs to be installed on the system itself.
But: there is an app to use a secondary partition which is called Link2SD, you need to have a rooted device though.
I found a guide for the process on the Ouya Android-device, which might point you into the right direction: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345680
Good luck and please keep us updated with your progress on the matter

[Q] Link2SD

I tried to figure this out by skimming the Link2SD topic, but seeing that there were 202 pages intimidated me. I have a few simple quick questions.
1. Does Link2SD work with Android 2.3.3 or is it only for older versions of Android?
2. If I have previously moved things to SD using the native Apps2SD support, do I have to uninstall them before I use Link2SD?
3. If the answer to the above is No, is there a performance hit in not doing so?
4. Does Link2SD require an unlocked bootloader?
5. Does it work on the rooted Verizon Xperia Play running the stock ROM?
I think that's it. I'm going to probably go ahead and experiment with the program anyway, but if someone can shortcut the process by answering these questions, that would be a big help!
Thanks!

EDIT:
1. YES - works on 2.3.3
2. NO I didn't have to uninstall them, just link them.
3. No but some programs may need to be uninstalled and reinstalled before they work. And some apparently don't like being linked.
4. Apparently not.
5. Yes, it appears to.

I want to set up a partition on my SD card so I'll have to format the card first, so all most of my apps will be half deleted because I have used app2sd on them. If I copy the current contents of my SD to my PC and then copy it back after I've created the partition, will everything be ok ?.

SD Card as standard

Hey Guys!
I took over the Wildfire of a friend and he reseted it. Now i wanted to put my SD-Card in it but all the Apps i want to download are safed in the internal storage. By Google search i just found solutions for saving fotos and videos on SD-Card but not Apps and so on.
It runs with 2.3.5 Android. Can you help me?
Thanks
Would it not be easier as it is to put all your apps into an online backup like SOS? (Link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...yLDEsImNvbS5zb3NvbmxpbmViYWNrdXAuYW5kcm9pZCJd
Then backup your apps, photos, videos, music etc.. After that download the app onto the other device, sign into your account and redownload everything to the SD. The way you're trying to do it just opens the door to confusion.

I think you should try the titanium backup(you can find it here "http://www.filecrop.com/77298937/index.html").you can backup almost everything you have...you should definitely give it a try

Yeah nice solutions, the problem is i got a new SD. So the only way i can imagine how it could work is to download all the APKs i need, and put them on my SD-Card... but i think it wants to install on the internal storage, or does it install whereever the apk is?
Thanks!

Unfortunately for you, mate, the Android is made so that an app is almost always installed on the internal space and, if the developer included this, it could be moved to the sd card. The location of the apk makes no difference and even if you moved it, it leaves parts in the internal storage (like moving only half of it).
I suggest you use Data2SD or Link2SD (I preffer the latter) to install whatever app you need totally to the sd.

[Q] Need help solving this issue: Cannot find storage. Is SDCard mounted?

I rooted my Ouya and installed busybox. Then Xposed framework and finally the Play Store. I downloaded GTA III 10-year anniversary from the play store (because I bought for my tablet before). Anyway, I left it installing the 1,21 GB on its own and then whenever I try to play it, it says: Cannot find storage. Is SDCard mounted? with one button only which is Exit.
I replaced the vold.sftab file with the one from the USB fix hoping that it will fix the problem, but unfortunately it didn't. Am I missing something here? The game version is 1.4
Any help would be appreciated.
Try deleting the data and starting the game. It may download the data again and then work. I had the game working by simply sideloading it before I did any hacks, so it shouldn't be a problem.

!!!!!!!! Easiest Method to solve Xperia M low memory problem

Hello Guys... Atlast after searching sooo many threads on XDA for days & trying various methods to increase internal memory, found this amazing app FolderMount:victory::victory: I think the main problem of this low memory is that we can't play games with very big data or obb files so here is the solution, Just move those data/obb files through FolderMount to ext sd and enjoy the game:highfive:
Am very happy to say that this works flawlessly (played contract killer 2 & dead trigger 2) and rescue us from all those script modifying hassle
Her is the thread link on XDA & Video tutorial on usage of this app

App2SD or Link2SD didn't worked for me either but there is this free app on Play store Root External 2 Internal SD which increase internal memory to same as that of your Ext sd card. Only problem is, it duplicates all files, like when you open gallery/videos there will be all double copies of each file. When you open File Manager you will see that there are same number and type of files both in Internal & External memory. If u r ok with that, here is the link to Playstore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext&hl=en
P.S.-- I hav Xperia M (single sim) so i don't exactly know how this works on Dual sim variant as Xp M single runs 4.1.2 where as Dual runs 4.2.2
Hope this helped:angel:
