S4 Floating Case - Galaxy S 4 Active Accessories

Just to let you guys know I picked up one of these. Works great!! Now I don't have to worry about it sinking
http://www.incipio.com/cases/samsun...tation-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s4-active.html

I did not like the nylon strap in it...and would that soft material be able to protect phone from sudden drops and shocks ?? Well I doubt....

The link is busted, I would really like to have a case that floats too!
I searched and found the case and it looks pretty good for a drop. especially if it was a foam material.
I tried to post the link, but I wasn't able, still under 10 posts.

Sure thing! it's called a Skiff by Incipio. I saw someone else do this so here is the link:
www(incipio)com/cases/samsung-smartphone-cases-accessories/samsung-galaxy-s4-active-cases/skiff-floatation-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s4-active.html
just replace the () around their name with periods.

I think it's more to prevent the phone from sinking to the bottom of the pool/lake/ocean than to protect it from drops on the ground. Although with that much foam I'm sure it helps.

Suggestions for a Protective Cover

I've had my dash now for 6 months and noticing im becoming less and less careful with it. I just saw on Amazon.com there are a few to choose from. I like to keep my phone in my pocket.
Any info or suggestions on what everyone else uses and likes would be greatly appreciated.

Didn't find much help in that thread. Just long discussions about whether aluminum cases block signals.

There are some links from Pudge and also views on cases i was just about to say that it's not exact subject but there are some ideas.
I use a leather case.
There is a selection on here http://www.wirelessground.com/tdahtcexac.html reason i gave other link is as the Aluminium cases look very sturdy.
Iv been leaning towards the cheaper silicon covers or clear plastic snap on's but I wanted some insight of whether they are worth having or if i should just save my pennies to buy a cool aluminum or leather cover.
I like the idea of having the screen covered though.
Thanks for the info Stylez.

I used to use a silicon case on the MDA Compact but found that crap would get between the silicon and the phone, the leather case does me as i only tend to have the case on when leaving the house but the Aluminium cases do look pucka and bet they would keep the phone in better shape for longer.
I really like the silicon covers... they are not bad in my opinion... you can get them for like less than 5 dollars off ebay...
I have a couple of the plastic covers and they are great. I wish they were rubbery (there are some that are) but the durability is great, they have protected my Dash very well. I only had one silicone cover and my complaint with it was pocket lint.
If you are a pocket person, I think you will like the plastic. If you are not, the silicone is "grippier" and thinner. I cant comment on the metal ones, they always scared me.
Haha metal ones look weird in my opinion. And yes I agree with you on the pocket lint... sometimes that is a pain...
rubberized cover
this is the one I have on mine and I've dropped it a few times and its quite strong against scratches and it cradles it pretty well. The downside is if your phone happens to freeze from overclocking or from doing tweaks, its a pain in the butt to remove for the battery or to change the sd card. To me is so worth it. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Black-Rubbe...4|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
this the case i am using , http://www.wirelessground.com/tdaboglsccec.html
i needed a belt clip style to match the custom made setup i have in my vehicle from a previous phone .
holds the phone upright and secure in my field of vision even if i roll over ( yes it is an offroad vehicle ) i will try to get a pic uploaded tonight.
also , it can fit over a 1550 Mah extended battery , if you remove the back cover .
I´m using this and I love it!
and very cheap

Dose covering the top set of buttons impair the use in any way??
I wouldn't mind covering all the buttons if they all worked. Kinda like a keyboard condom.

[Video] Clear Coat for Motorola Atrix 4G Review

If your curious as to how the Clear-Coat body skin fits on the Motorola Atrix, Gadget University did a quick review for you all!

Thanks
wow that skin looks amazing...im actually in the market for something of this nature right. thanks for the informative review
Looks really nice, but no protection to speak of.
Looks nice, but doesn't seem practical!

Actually it provides quite a bit a protection. I've dropped my phone before and its been fine. Not as much as case protection, but, not as bulky either...

Its very practical. I've had a similar skin on my phone for a few months now and the best part is you can STILL use a case on top of it if you so choose. That way no dirt particles can get into your case and scratch your phone...
I don't know what kind of protection people are looking for?
I have had invisible shield as well as clear coat... and I stuck with clear coat for my Atrix because your finger will slide much more smoothly across the surface of the phone. Pinch to zoom would always be tedious with the invisible shield.
The only protection this offers is scratch protection. If you need something that's shock absorbent, then a case is probably the way to go.
The best way to prevent an accident from happening is to be abstinent in the first place though
Sorry for bumping a dead thread, but i just ordered this skin from Amazon.com and have a question about it, and didn't want to make a new thread about it.
is there anything preventing me from using this screen protector, AND my hard Speck case? i want the most protection possible without making my phone too bulky, and this seemed like a good idea to me. i don't see why i couldn't, but would just like some clarification. i still have time to cancel my order, after all.

Cruzerlite cases...any feedback?

Does anyone has any feedback on this case?
http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/sam...roidified-a2-tpu-case-for-samsung-galaxy-note
I have a SGP case but it is white so I want to go with a black case and like the android design on those but want to make sure they dont have any flaws.
Thanks
Headphone jack seems to be not lined up on most of them
my review of it
Hi, yep I've got this case, its actually not that bad.
the best thing is that it is very comfortable to hold.
the grip on it is good. its cut outs are good, headphone jack cut out is good, but I would prefer if it was a bit bigger.
all other cut outs are perfect apart from the speaker ones which covers only a very small amount of the top of the speaker, but is not a problem.
here are a few pics.
sorry for the poor quality of pics, I was using my v. old nokia 5800.
Thanks.
I am going to be getting one and posting a review and video review for it.

Still do not have it....super slow delivery
I have the Androidified Case and love it! It's super comfy (like the guy above me said) and it's just made to be easy to use. My only complaint is that the standard usb cable has a difficult time getting to the port due to the design of the case. Simple fix by pulling the piece up, but I don't like putting pressure on the port.

ah that could be an issue indeed. Can't wait to test it. I only got my white case which I hate due to the apple look
i had the same problem regarding the usb, at first i had to force it in due to the way the cut out is, but after two days it seemed that the case just changed its shape and adjusted to allow the usb to fit in without forcing it. which for me I now have no problem with it.
Thanks for the feedback. I will keep it in mind while testing.

Just received two of the cases today but waiting for the third one that has the fancy designs to do it.
So far , I love the looks of the black one with the Android design on the back and inside.
Not too sure about the big area left open for the camera and flash but I will comment about all that when I post it.
Did you receive the last case ? i'm very intrested in it.
You think it still will fit in the pocket of your jeans now it is not so slippery anymore ?

Actually just got the shipping notification so I expect it here in time for a Friday review at least.
Yes it does fit fine and I like that it has extra grip on the sides of the case. That feels better than my previous one which is more slippery.
I will make sure to take enough pictures but so far I like it. I guess the wait is not bad that way I can do a review after a week of using the case to give a better perspective as opposed to a right our of the bag review.
I put my Note in a sock, it fits well, 10$ on ebay and looks not bad.
If i use this Cruzerlite, will i be able to put it in a sock again (maybe a bigger one ?)
Or dont you guys use a sock ? what do you use then ?

air cooling case for GN. (pic inside)

Actually, I really dont know how to describe such case.
Since there many holes on the back and might be help for to cool down GN.
So I just call it air cooling case.
There're also other kind of case with holes on ebay and taobao. But they are
too rough and too ugly. Usually cost around 3RMB,but u won't want to put it
on your GN which might scratch ur GN.
I bought this one around 10USD. And the color is green with little bit metal
feeling.
The only disadvantage is: It won't fit with 2000mah battery. So u can only use
1750mah battery with it.
looks nice. could you post a link?

Very nice looking mesh case and didn't know they made them. If you're worried about heat i would just undervolt the nexus. But this definitely gives it a unique look.

Black one looks great! Might pick one up... Kinda pricey for a generic though.
Seems cheaper from the company: http://www.anymode.com/shop/goods/goods_view.php?goodsno=12347476
But I don't read Korean enough/at all to figure out if they ship to Canada or how to checkout.
Anymode cannot be considered generic
"Anymode, a privately held company founded in Korea in 2007, has the strong affiliation with Samsung Electronics for key accessories supplier globally."

Plenty of cheap ones.
These are called "Mesh snap on" cases.
Here's for the GSM Nexus: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=i9250+mesh&_sacat=0
$1.92
There's no "snap on mesh" cases for the Verizon, they're more fully formed so it's not cheap.
$7-$9 http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=i515+mesh&_sacat=0&_odkw=i9250+mesh&_osacat=0
Those are the cheap feeling ones the OP described. I was asking for a link to a cheaper site for the Anymode version the OP recommended. Thanks though!
99.9% anti-bacterial
Nice!
this is not going to cool your phone, you are adding another layer of plastic to trap heat. do you cool yourself by wearing a sweater?

The "air cooling" is just a term to describe this case. Just a comparison
between other TPU or silicon case.
Of course no case is the coolest!

Right there on the box!
Great case! I ended up getting it from eBay since I can't read Korean/Chinese nor trust signing up with credit card info to foreign websites I don't understand. Nice matte finish on the black one here. Feels solid, snug and good in the hand. The wrap-around to the front leaves just enough of a gap between housing and screen that edge-to-edge screen protectors should work nicely. And the design and materials seem excellent for signal, WiFi and NFC (unlike my last case)! Would definitely buy again.
Very, very pleased... now I just need my Fantom tempered glass screen protector:

Those ones don't really count. The pictures show a full case with the snap on mesh that goes over it. So the mesh on those cases is just for looks.
My issue with these mesh cases is that dust collects in the holes REALLY easily. :\

smokey discount off ebay - .3mm case

has anyone bought one of these and happy with fit, control access blah, blah, blah.?
.3mm is pretty thin.
I purchased one last week having read this post from the accessory thread. Looks great if you ask me and if it doesn't work out, you're only out like $3.00.

I bought that one too. I love how thin it is, and also that it is translucent, although the frosted finish is a bit slippery. Some texture on the sides would make it more secure to grip.
