This is not working, the main thread was closed.

Everybody is getting force close.
It seems to be that it just worked for maybe 2 or 3 arm7 devices.
Lets hope that it worked in the future for us!

Scam Post
It's incredible like one lier publish something like this. Then all internet reply the lie. Obviously the very first autor of this idea only for collaborate with ideas to run one App that normally is not possible run on certain devices...
I'm Android Developer with knowledgment on Native Developer (NDK). My diagnosis about this post is here:
1. Recompile library is not necessary WHY?. Natively BBM comes with library ARMv7. All devices currently are ARMv7 recompile libraries only has sense if are recompile it for ARMv6 but normally this type of devices only have 256 Mb or less. The application will colapse for requirements. (Tegra 2 are the only ones devices could need libraries recompiled without NEON instructions).
2. The APK published here is identical to APK from Blackberry, the only one difference is AndroidManifest.xml the which is changed with minimum sdk requeried. This parameter let the App install on any devices with API level >=10. But the App is crashed on devices with Honeycomb or less.
3. It's near to be impossible make this APK run on Android Gingerbread because require ActionBar only avaible on Honeycomb and newer. Google has proportionated libraries to develop App with ActionBar on Gingerbread and older but is not identical and this needs developed with this library since beginning. When you run this App on Debugger can you see how method "getActionBar" is not found.
4. To give support to this Application the method coud be decompile to Smalli and try to rewrite the method but this task is very hard because Java Smalli is an language with leve lower than Java.
5. Honestly we have Android Gingerbread devices but our devices is near to end of life, so is not very usefull work with this Application without some stilmulus, possible one Developer from one University can take this like a Goal for make his Professional Resume more competitive.
Regards.

Not the devices, it could be gingerbread itself, but not like. If BBM doesnt work with gingerbread its a big problem for them, most social apps work and there are some better than this. I dont like the fact of changing my pin every time I change my phone.
There is a great app which recently is working for gingerbread too, SuperBeam was only working for 4.0+ now for 2.3+ which is the best they did.
But we can always install new versions for our devices, Moto Defy has kitkat working along with other devices of the same year.

Launch games from menu(you dont have to launch from samsung apps)
In fact it's a JID firmware with socialhub and custom theme?

i have some question and i hope you can answer them.
is it a full firmware? do i need to install an other firmware first? i have a xxjl2 will it be ok do update it? do i need to backup my phone so i wont loose my apps before i install this firmware
thanks a lot for your work
im still at the originally leaked xxjid, cause i really never seen any advantage in updating to newer firmwares
so basically this is like an original xxjid (same nicer web browser and same swype) but with social hub, spoofing from menu capabilites, and a new theme, right?
btw... im also a dream theater fan!

Hey dude, this is a normal JID firmware , the only changes performed are:
-social hub premium hack
-changed default theme with my wavedroid theme
-swipe is already present in normal JID;
-Full screen browser is already present in normal JID;
-Starting spoofed apps from menu is already possible with normal JID;
Meh its a start, lets hope other more adventurous folk catch onto the idea and start making real modifications.
hahahahahahaha
take it easy gentle men he copied it so what is wrong??
he also doesn't know that XDA is the real source of these hacks
all of us right here can make those changes using trix

sorry but...what mysterious security patch are you talking about?
Samsung has recently updated the application of SamsungApp on Wave, so that you can not start the spoofed app from there but...the old JID firmware has nothing to do with this method...launching app from menu works like always samsung can't patch a firmware without updating it...
another thing: when you use a work done by another person would be kind to mention the real authors in the acknowledgments...

install Windows 95 on Samsung Galaxy Y

Most of you might be knowing that Android is
an Operating System based on Linux.
Well this Operating System has the parameters to achieve
many things. Such way this can also help us
actually emulate Windows 95 on our phone.
The results are not great, but result is positive.
The Windows lag sometimes.
Even the Fonts aren't visible clearly.
Tutorial -
1) First Download this file - LINK-http://www.mediafire.com/?099fqbi93ifbl9x
2) You will notice that there are 2 files inside.
A folder named 'SDL' and an APK named - 'SDL.TECHTON.DEVELOPER.apk'
3) You must put the folder named 'SDL' directly inside the SD card (not in any folder or something)
4) Now Install the APK and then your done !
5)open the apk file after install
5)This is the look of windows which starts approx. after about 2 or 3 minutes
do not forget to press thanks button if i helpfull for you
thats now a os, thats not even a shell or theme. and by the way, it sucks
anyone tried this one?
Not working... while click the app, it's close directly.

htc one v ics

hello all
can anybody tell me how to do following ????????? ( i have just moved over from symbian to ANDROID )
1. how to set default bluetooth received file location to sdcard
2. how to exit apps running in background
3. how to view/create/edit files and folders stored on phone/sdcard
4. can't we change themes ????
5. how much is rooting android related to hacking symbian
6. which is the most safe ics root
7. why does the default music player does not read from zip/rar archives ????
8. is there a detailed android ics guide available ?
1. how to set default bluetooth received file location to sdcard
I don't think you can with the stock HTC ROM.
2. how to exit apps running in background
Not necessary and discouraged because it wastes battery. But if you must, download an app called Advanced Task Killer from Google Play.
3. how to view/create/edit files and folders stored on phone/sdcard
The best app IMHO is ES File Explorer, again at Google Play.
4. can't we change themes ????
Not much theming content for One V yet. Give it time. HTC's stuff can be found using HTC Hub in your app drawer. Once more developers have the One V, they'll be posting it here. General theming stuff can always be found at Google Play.
5. how much is rooting android related to hacking symbian
Can't tell you as I know nothing about Symbian.
6. which is the most safe ics root
Rooting isn't dangerous. Moreover, rooting methods tend to be different for different devices, even if running the same OS. To root the One V, go here:
[TUT]How to Unlock Bootloader and Root your Htc One V
7. why does the default music player does not read from zip/rar archives ????
Don't know, but I don't zip mine. Maybe someone can point you to a media player that reads from archives.
8. is there a detailed android ics guide available ?
Google is your friend here.

I think navigation requires compass sensor in phone, which is absent in one V. U can see no compass warning in the HTC locations app. However u can get directions from map easily.

I don't know that Navigation requires a compass, but you may be right. I have an Android device with a compass (Galaxy Tab 8.9) and Navigation is still not available here on that.
Yeah thats right, google navigation is not a available in India, but proper navigation requires compass as implied by the term itself.

Let me give you a more comprehensive answer ..
1. Default can't be set currently but I can help you transfer files..you need to be rooted...download root exploror and transfer the file from mnt/emmc too mnt/sdcard...
2. To exit background apps (i use it regularly) ...there is a built in task manager in the phone that does the job..
3. Astro File Manager
4. Wait for proper themes..let the custom roms start rolling out...till then you can use HTC skins from personalize menu in settings..
5. Rooting is basically getting access to all internal files for better customization...google "advantages of rooting an Android"....I dunno what hacking symbian is..
6.use ckpv5's guide...it is n00b proof..don't worry ruu(rom update utiluty) are always there...so no tension..
7. Cuz technically speaking they are part of another file type...extract them and music player will read
8. What do ya mean??

It is possible to do this by mount bind the /mnt/emmc/downloads/bluetooth folder to bluetooth folder on sdcard. You need to run the below shell script in order to mount. Unfortunately the mount will be removed after start up. Possibly there is some app which can run this script automatically after start up. You need a rooted phone in order to be able to execute the script and you need to create "bluetooth" folder on your sdcard.
Just create a new file (name it something like bt_to_sdcard.sh) and type below code in it. Then execute in terminal using Terminal Emulator or using Script manager or some other application.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard/bluetooth /mnt/emmc/downloads/bluetooth
Someone knows a better method how to direct the bluetooth dowload folder to sdcard?
erm... bout the navigation... try Waze, its a free social navi app from google play

Hmm, maybe it's the way you're sesrching. I was able to find the answers to your questions on Google. Maybe chsnging the way you ask might help.
As a sign of good will, the answer to question #2: download advanced task killer from Google Play aka Market.
Answer to question #3: download a file manager such as "root explorer"
The rest is up to you.
PS: I already knew the answers, but did a Google search just to demonstrate they are there if you search hard enough.

Method 1 : Alternatively, you can use a tool called dex2jar ,which is made by a chinese student. It will translate dex to jar file. For the next step, you can use jd-gui, the source code is quite readable as dex2jar makes some optimizations.
Method 2: Another Option is to use Smali It provides BAKSMALI which is a most excellent reverse-engineering tool for DEX files. The tool is made by JesusFreke, he’s famous for making popular ROMs for Android.
Method 4: Android comes with a dissambler called dexdump. The location of this tool is not intuitive, it runs on the Linux platform that hosts Android. Details here.
+ Use APKTool to Decompile, Edit, Translate and Recompile an APK

[Dump] All /system partition files from Nokia X

Soon after Nokia X official announcement at MWC 2014, Nokia Remote Device Access servers updated the list of available phones, including Nokia X now. After messing around a while, I managed to get a copy of all contents of the /system partition from a device connected remotely and I'm sharing it now. The dump contains APKs from system applications, framework files, libraries as well as the boot animations, sounds and fonts, so this may be useful for other developers/modders.
The device I had remote access was a Nokia X dual SIM running firmware 10.0.3-eng (more details in the attached screenshot)...
Download now from MEGA (198.3 MB)
Dev-Host mirror (thanks to @mattlgroff)
NOTE: I won't update the content of the dump -- Make good use of what's included or get the firmware yourself from Nokia Care Suite or NaviFirm+ if you want something that's not included in this dump, no more questions (or PMs) about it, thanks...
Right now it looks like apps aren't working without proper framework. Just installing is insufficient.
Kitkat on Moto G here.
[Update 1]
- Nokia Store is successfully installed but doesn't show any app.
- Nokia Here just shows splash screen.
- Music player only shows music on phone (doesn't play anything)
- Calc and calendar doesn't install
- Launcher installs correctly but FC.
Framework and libraries are included in the dump too, someone may be able to port it to other phones...
This is interesting, but looks like its missing some files.
Also decompiling the framework its starting to be an headache , need to try another aapt...
Regards
Do you have the name of the missing ones? I can try to get them too...
EDIT: uh, no way... Trying to access some files will instantly close the connection, the dump I uploaded already includes all files I could access...
Abhisek Devkota has already got his hands on a retail device, so it might be worth keeping tabs on his progress:

The launcher is looking for something related to:
Code:
.super Lcom/android/internal/app/IFastlaneNotificationCallback$Stub;
@mbc07 and people who already downloaded it, can you please post the stock ringtones and sounds?
I tried 3 times to download the whole Rom but Mega is not saving the file on my PC
@mbc07 I really appreciate your work! but can you (or somebody else) please mirror the files?
I cant download from MEGA, it sucks for my ISP connection.
Thanks
Here's a mirror:

just type
getprop ro.hardware <press enter>in terminal
or in adb shell
I've just managed porting nokia x to my snapdragon 200 device, everything ok except FCing on Here maps and Internet browser. Can someone upload boot.img somewhere? TIA.

are u kidding thats great,Nokia x launcher working for you?
By the way they are still trying to get a recovery if they do the boot.IMG should be there, but I'm not sure whether nokia released the stock firmware on their site,if so that can also help a bit in getting the boot.IMG.
