This ROM comes with my optimized stock kernel which can be found in this thread.
Kernel features include:
Compiled with linaro 4.8 using -o3 compiler flags
Optimized for speed and battery life
SCHEDULER: Autogroup patch
lib/memcopy: use glibc version
lib/string: use glibc version
Optimized ARM RWSEM algorithm
vfp - compile with neon
vfp: hardfloat
Removed a lot of debugging, stats, logs and tests
Updated kgsl from CAF

and so I can setup symlinks and permissions before packag the zip.​

For those interested in benchmarks, here are some scores i achieved using this ROM.

I have been running the v1 very nicely. The only error has been the Bluetooth audio with my car system. There was no audio. I moved to another kernel and it was resolved, but your kernel was faster. Would you mind adding the pateched stock 20d kernel in a flashable zip so we have stock as a backup alternative? Thanks for your work.

Yes i can do that but it may work in v2, give it a try and let me know please.
It will be up in about 40mins, I have a really slow upload speed.

This ROM must be flashed the same way of others: reboot your phone in recovery, wipe System, Data, Cache; flash the ROM's ZIP and SuperSU v.1.94; reboot to system.

Correct, but no need to flash SuperSU, the ROM is rooted already.

Running v1 for some days now, impressive balance between speed and battery-consumtion. How already mentioned, for my needs the perfect rom+kernel combo with Xposed and xdabbebs camera mod...thanx!!!

You didn't do anything wrong.
Even if the same device with the same rom, benchmark still can be different due to many reasons, such as temperature, what apps you've installed, or the minor differences among each devices.

How to Install
You have to have a custom recovery like TWRP, Philz or CWM installed.
- Download the kernel
- Reboot to recovery
- A backup is always recommended
- Flash the zip file
- You're done! Reboot and enjoy.

Q: Can this be flashed on the Exynos Note 4?
A: No, by no means. The Exynos model is completely incompatible, sorry.
Q: And what about other Snapdragon versions?
A: I can't advise to do that, it's untested and might not work. If you know how to handle bootloops and can remove my kernel if it doesn't boot, then you can always try it and tell me how it went. More variants would be awesome.
Q: Yikes, this kernel is too close to stock! What about more features?
A: More features will be included, please check the changelog preview. You can also request features and track the progress. I will make a section on this thread to display the feature request and write if I look at them, make them or - and that might happen - reject them.

Known Issues / Fixes
Bootloop if you have Viper4Android installed and flashed Andromeda over it
Fix: Uninstall Viper, install Andromeda and then reinstall.
If this issue persists in my future builds, then I'll add an automated script to remove Viper4Android upon installation of the kernel.

Hi, yes of course you can! We are actually working on deeper and more exclusive support for SimpleRom too. Stay tuned for version 2.1, it will be awesome
My kernel is much closer to the stock base, so you might get some more performance squeezed out - especially if you select Intelliactive as your governor - but at the cost of battery. I'm still not so big on features, the last couple of days my compiler decided to give me a hard time :crying:
Only 910F for now though!

I'm not part of their Team, but Pafcholini is teaching me Don't worry, this kernel is not a clone of Nadia. My newest and upcoming build is as fluent as the last one and the batterylife is holding up a ton better too. No compromises on either side, thats my motto!

Haha, I know what you mean I love the compliment, but I know as well as you do, that Nadia doesn't lag, unless the Synapse settings are set wrong. Too bad that my attempts at Synapse aren't going so great atm..

Yes, it is. I don't know what changes Sammy made to the BOC3 kernel yet, so mine might be a bit slower than the BOC3 stock one. But it works with the version just fine

About the Overclocking and Synapse...
I originally intended to include both in this build, but it will still need much more time and work and I didn't want to keep you away from the great upgrades I made in this version, so those two goodies will come later. I can highly recommend trying TricksterMod and KControl, both from the PlayStore.
And a very special announcement...
Perhaps the biggest change is that I recently joined "Team Simple - Simply Awesome" cool and will contribute an adapted version of the Andromeda kernel to SimpleRom, starting with the very close release of it's 2.1 Build. We planned something special - FauxSound is only the cherry on the Audiophile package inbuilt, so be very excited for whats coming up and be sure to try SimpleRom, especially the upcoming 2.1 version!
Oh, btw. I will also open a thread for the SimpleKernel once the Rom is released, to provide an optimized yet very close to stock experience! And there are also plans for an Exynos Build (the N910C), but I need some help with the Exy, so if anyone could lend me a hand, it would be highly appreciated! Now I understand why most devs settle for the Snapdragon..

Why don't you give it a try and let us know your experience with it? I only ran Arter97's rom for about a week and switched to this yesterday morning. I think it runs great and will report more later.

It booted fine in G928G

OK . so I said I'll report back in 24 hrs but I think I.might be a bit early. Lol. Anyways. Kernel is amazing. No lags. No reboots. No forecloses or anything. Loving it. Multitasking is fine I guess. I do use a lot of apps. Keep switching between them and sometimes the app restarts and sometimes it doesn't. Battery life is fine . but I need to settle it down a bit. All in all . an amazing kernel. Thank you.
Also I'm.on atrium rom with exposed .. Running amplify.

what bluetooth issues on arts kernel i dont have any I know of

[Z00L][KERNEL]Better Battery Backup v2

UPDATE: I really no longer have the time to update the custom kernels, I now work 16 hours days, 5-6 days weekly. With travelling time added, I barely have time to sleep.
Battery optimization is about choosing the right rom, tuning cpu governor interactive, disabling Google Play Services (use microG & tune GCM), forcing doze immediately, disabling ads, using black/white screen, app optimization (disable analytics, instant messaging), plus many other things.
Identify the rom, the base (aosp or lineage), can choose to use any of the kernels below if it is based on the same base. A backup of your original rom's kernel is in the rom.zip file, simply extract it and restore if encounter any problems.

BACKUP YOUR PARTITIONS!!!
Before attempting to flash any kernel/rom, backup your critical partitions! It's meaningless to ask for help when disaster strikes. Follow the links below, root is required.
Partition Dump - Complete STEP 1
Partition Backup by wanam (save as both .img & tar.gz, plus the 1st 100MB - see 'spanner tool')
There's no need to backup the System or Data partition.

DOWNLOAD
Unzip, copy to phone, then flash kernel via TWRP (select BOOT partition), re-flash SuperSU if you use it, reboot directly.
(Note: if you need to revert to original kernel, either use :
v00 of my kernel - its the same as your stock rom boot.img,
or extract boot.img from the rom)
If you use Magisk, refer to this thread 1st post - Installation Instructions, section "If you're not rooted, or something went wrong and you need a clean start"

I'm getting problems trying to upload to Google Drive, if any of u experience file corruption after downloading the kernels, please post.

Just reboot directly, but if you use SuperSU, you have to flash it again
Did you make a backup of your critical partitions? follow 1st post.

Which ROM? Note that I don't own the device, and I need you to post a screenshot of the kernel version or commits if any. (Phone Settings > About Phone > Kernel Version). I won't be able to flash or test the kernel.

So it's AICP 7.1.1 for Z00ED? Kernel source should be this one, note the commit gba1e18b from your screenshot.

How to Install?​
Download ODIN and Samsung USB driver and TWRP recovery
In Your phone go to Settings --> About Phone --> Software info --> click 8 times on Build Number to enable developer mode then go to Settings --> Developer Options --> Enable OEM unlock .
Boot into Download Mode and Flash Twrp
Boot to Twrp got to WIPE/format data and format your data

No because its a basic kernel so its so close to stock but the dev is working on an advanced one with OC etc

Seems like having the SM-G955U is a curse past few days I've found little to nothing for ROMs / Kernels . What would the U variant be closet to ? the N variant ?
