Two more Good Cases for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 From Poetic - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories

I bought both case from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-StrapBack-Samsung-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00FNCSTLM/
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Samsung-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00FNCSS2W/
I have read review about the Slimline for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is Good. I have myself to purchased Slimbook and Strapback as well. Got it today and want to add them to recommend case list. Here is my review:
First one is the Slimbook.
This case takes on a leatherette folio design. The Note 10.1 slides into the interior leather cradle, sitting snugly inside with all ports accessible. They’ve cut a hole on the spine for the charging port to be used even with the cover closed. The cover folds into a stand by folding back and tucking into a notch on the back of the case. It’s a simple but effective solution. Of course from this stand you can either lay it down to type or prop it up to watch a movie. Some other nice touches include a stylus loop, card and microSD pockets on the inner cover, and the thick handstrap that is meant for one-handed usage when folding the cover back.

Second one is the Strapback.
The StrapBack is the ideal complement to the Galaxy Note 10.1. Thanks to the large, gorgeous screen on the Note, more often than not I am watching a video when I’m using the device. Have a case that doubles as a multi-angle stand is great convenience, and the stout, yet not overly bulky, protective hard back, is a good compromise.
Some additional features on this case sweetened the pot. I like the handstrap on the inner cover which, when the cover is folded back, aids greatly in one handed usage. All four available angles offered by the grooved cover is useful, especially for typing and for watching movies on my bed. I use the second groove when sitting up in a chair, usually as I’m eating and YouTubing (ah, the pleasures of modern life!).
The build quality on the case is great for the price; buttery smooth leather (synthetic I believe) all through gives this a premium feel. I can recommend the Strapback enough if you’re looking for a well-padded and feature-rich case. A worthy companion to the 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1.
Got those for 4.95 USD each at the introductory period, both add up less than 10 bucks.

I have the note 8 and I'm currently using the bottom one on it. Nice case with one exception, I purchased it Because I didn't like the bezel being covered (which this case doesn't cover the bezel) and because it doesn't, it doesn't protect it very well either.
My tablet slipped off an edge one day and landed vertically (on its edge) and slammed right on the edge of the tablet with no protection whatsoever (it was in the current case). Fortunately no actual harming damage was done, just a scar to remind me every time I see it as to why I should have a full cover Case. Btw, I've NEVER dropped or damaged a device before, so I thought I was Ok.
I already ordered a tpu case for my note 10 for when I get it, it won't be my full time case but for those times at home when I don't want to sport the full case I'll still have bump coverage. Lol

Are the cases magnetic? ie. those it work along the lines of the samsung smart cover? And will it work with the Daynote app ? (I keep forgetting the name, but I mean the ones that starts up when you open the smart cover) (anyone help me out with the name?)
Anyone tested these :

http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-Fit...ywords=Case+for+Samsung+Galaxy+Note+10.1+2014

I have the MoKo Slim fit and I like it. It's magnetic and day note worked. I disabled it as I don't need it but it did work. My only complaint is that the case grips a little too near to the part button on the top left - makes it tiny bit harder to get to the power button.

Does any one the Poetic Slimeline case?
I have been looking at this case but I can find out if the cover will flip all the back against the back of the tab 180 degrees
Please let me know if you have one
Thanks

I definitely agree with you. I read this post and ordered the Strap Back case. It was $9 shipped and all, and is an awesome case. It DOES work with the day note app thing , although I really don't like that app; is ugly and blank looking. This case is solidly made and has all the right cut outs. It also had the right stuff when it comes to watching a movie at an angle or typing. Great case, really cheap, just what I needed. Slim and solid, covers all the corners, protective and durable. Good case.

What about the issue that cover pushes against the home button and wakes the tablet up? This was a repeatedly reported issue with this case.
Therefore I am considering moko.
Thanks

I've got a blue Poetic Slimline and I love it!
The cover flips back perfectly flat to the back of the case. I think that's what you were asking?
I also have the Moko and the VSTN Slim Smart Cover Case. I feel that the Poetic Slimline is easily the best case of the three as the Poetic Slimline has a superior, more precise fit and finish. It even has a tiny hole for the microphone which the other two cases lack. The Moko is quite bulky and sloppy in comparision and the fit and the design of the VSTN is not quite as good as that of the Poetic, although it is close. The Poetic is also definitely the slimmest and lightest of the three cases. Of the three, the Poetic Slimline is what lives on my Note at the moment.
Amazon has it for $17 US.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FLO8NAO
(by the way, the color of the blue case (which I have) is exactly as it is pictured in the description).

wow, those look like DOG CRAP!
The Moko Slim seems to be the only way to fly, but whatever floats your boat,
I got lucky and ordered 3 of them when they were on sale/glitch for 0.1¢ on amazon.
the Plastic can be a little brittle when trying to take the device OUT of the case however, so be carefull,
Magnetic and launches the calander/note pad on wake too, No weird screen issues as some have reported with the magnet.

That's the case I have and I enjoy it very much. I pterry much only use poetic cases for my tablets..OG Next 7/2013 Next 7/Note 10.1 2014

I purchased both before Christmas because I knew I was getting the Note 2014 for Christmas. I have been using the slim fit smart shell case almost everyday. The slim fit folio multi stand position has the wake and multiple viewing angles which is very nice. The only thing I don't like about the multi stand, the bottom corners that clamp on to the tablet when you close it, really grip the tablet when you open the case and try and pop it into a tilting position. I haven't had any issue accessing the power button. It basically comes down to how you use the device which case is for you.
Previously I had a Motorola Xoom and LOVED Cover-up cases (coverupaccessories.com) who are based out of the UK. Their comfort shell case is their best design...but they have not provided a model for our Note 2014 yet.

Before you start reading I would like to mention some key notes about this article.
Buttocks of Kate Upton
Expensive
You can continue now.
The order
Today received my Zenus Case. The “Galaxy S3 Prestige Classic Dual Leather Diary” to be precise. Quicker than I thought. Fourteen days after my order the mailbox was filled with this package. I ordered the case at Zenuscase.net with paypal. Shipment to Holland costs 8 dollars. This case costs 49,99 dollars. This makes a total of 57,99 dollar, a lot for a case.
The package
The package itself was basic, no protective material just a cardboard box with the case in its own package. Although this is very little protection I think it is enough for just a case, even a case this expensive.

The case itself
Quality
The quality of this case is topnotch. Really good stitching, very nice leather and inner materials. The case really feels expensive. Every corner, and every edge is well made.

Fitment
The Galaxy S3 fits good in the Zenus. Very sturdy and impossible to fall out if you flip the case. Why not perfect you ask ? You need to really push the phone into its housing. The lock button is not really centered with the cutout in the case. I think the case needs a bit of time to fit perfect. Don’t get me wrong, it fits really good but it feels like it is not in there for a 100%, more like 95%.
Cutouts
As mentioned above the cutout for the power button is not fully aligned with the button itself. I believe the cutout is 1mm to high. The button is easily accessible, so I don’t see a problem.
There is not an actual cut out for the 3,5mm jack but the standard Samsung headphones fits well. Really thick jacks as Sennheiser uses might not work. I did not test this!
A cutout for the speaker is present and this cutout has been filled with a cloth piece, preventing dust coming into the front speaker.

The rear cutouts for the flasher, speaker and camera are located just fine if you take a little effort to put the phone good in the case’s housing.
The credit card slots are very well clothed and have a very luxury feel. I don’t use money or credit cards within the case but they fit well.

Ergonomically
As a flipcase fanatic I think this case is very easy to hold, type and watch movies as every other case where the cover flips over the same.

Cover closing mechanism
The case closes very easy and snaps in the magnet lock very fast. My only concern is a myth actually, I’m scared the magnet will affect the phone. I hope somebody can scientifically bust this myth.
NFC
This case still allows you to use the NFC feature with the case around the phone, also the magnet doesn’t affect it.

The pro’s and con’s
Pro’s
Very luxury case with a very good finish
Materials used are very nice to touch
Closing mechanism is very, very good
The case holds the phone really well
Cutouts are good, but not perfect
Very classy case
Con’s
Very expensive
Not all cutouts are well located
(The magnet might affect the phone??)
3,5 mm jack not accessible for really thick jacks
The verdict
The case is an average case, The materials and finish are high-end but the cutouts could have been made a bit tidier. Also the case is very expensive. I will use this case as a daily one because I really like how it feels. I hate to have a rubber condom (Read: TPU Cases) around my 600 euro smartphone. Therefore I have chosen this case. Although I’m a bit disappointed with most cutouts it haven’t lost any functionality and the case just feels so nice. Almost like the buttocks off Kate Upton.
Kind Regards,
Thomas Vasse
Nice review. I picked up a Zenus Masstige Color Edge in Royal Navy a couple of days ago and although I like the fact that it feels less stuffy than an all black or brown leather case it does feel like a 95% product.
When you put 3 cards in the slots the front flap bulges significantly and makes the overall product much thicker than you want it to. I was able to test the case by mashing in my temporary One X.
Other than that it's a good enough case that I would recommend only if you are the type that is willing to spend unwarranted amounts of money on phone accessories.
ed. The closing mechanism on the Color Edge is a snap button on the front side of the case vs. magnet on the rear of this case above. My previous case for my Galaxy Tab had a magnet on the front side and I never experience any issues.
could you post a picture of the top end of the phone? so we could see the jack issue? I am interested in getting this case now
Looks good. Is it made of genuine leather?
Its deffo genuine leather, you can smell ut too. I will make a picture of the top later this day.

I had one zenus case for the GS2.
They made very nice cases now for the GS3.
But I don't like the side flip.
The GS2 case was a flip over, and that's better when someone calls you.
I ask the people of zenus if the make the case like the GS2,and they will not:crying:
Now I have the original samsung flip over case,is very nice, but it is not a zenus,
the zenus leather is very nice, after a year the GS2 case still smells leather.
Good luck with your nice case and thanks for the review.
Cheers.
it looks like $ 20 case.
Very strangely. I know Zenus making nice accessories, but this look like a Chinese chip case.
-Magnet will spoil your screen very soon (The screen will lose sensitivity to touch in the area where the magnet)
Best regards.
Thank you for review.
I have also used a case with a magnet latch and never had a problem.

Seems like the issue with the display would only be if the magnetic area was against the screen though, correct ? This case has the magnetic latch on the back of the device.
Also, I saw no Kate Upton bum.

Uhm out of precaution I took the magnet out, de-sowed the lip of the flip. And made a button with the leather from the lip. I glued this in the hole.
This is a very neat case and it looks really classy lying on my desk, out of precaution i made this the way it is now. Still love the case.
In my honesty to XDA I reccomend everyone to NOT buy this case.
Today it fell on the ground and whilst falling it whipped out my s3 damaging the bezel. Nothing more though.
I thought it was sturdy enough to hold the phone but things are otherways.
I honestly regret my purchase now

Review of UAG Navigator/Scout for S4 with lots of pics!!!

This is a review of UAG case for S4: http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/collections/samsung-galaxy-s4/
I hope other vendors received the memo: UAG finally shipping their S4 cases. Competition is over. Go home! Yes, it's true, just received my Navigator (white) and Scout (black) S4 cases, while Aero (blue) and Outland (rustic) colors are also available. For the last 6 months using it on my Note 2, this has been my go-to case whenever I'm using stock battery. I do have a lot of great cases in my collection, but this case has always been at the top of the food chain for me when it comes to overall protection, durability, and functionality while still being slim and sexy with it's unique industrial design. It also withstand test of time still looking like brand new after a lot of abuse, and that's considering my Note 2 UAG case is white Navigator.
With S4 case, UAG went back to their original design from S3 rather than new "vent" design introduced with larger cases of Note 2 and iPad Mini. This makes perfect sense since we are talking about a smaller footprint phone in comparison to other phablet and tablet. The design is still high quality feather-lite composite construction made out of single piece thermo-plastic material used for inner lining and edge protection and also polycarbonate shell for a tough exterior protection. The combination of honeycomb pattern partial inner lining of the back and unique raised shaped of pc shell in the middle works as a perfect shock absorption if you drop the phone. The edge protection with a thicker bumper around top/bottom of the phone wraps the screen with a nice lip around the front of the phone keeping it save off the surface if you place it screen down or if you drop it by accident. The phone will not slide on any surface, either if you place it face up or down. As I mentioned, front bumper will protect it from sliding face down, while the top/bottom bumper has small standoff skid pads on the back to keep the friction when you place the phone face up. The back of the phone is complimented with industrial design grooves accompanied by fake rubbery torx screw accents. The case itself has a very secure and comfortable grip, and still very easy to slide in/out of the pocket or purse.
Every cutout is precise and generous. You can especially see it in micro-usb and headphone port openings that will accommodate any reasonably over sized connector. Camera and flash openings are partitioned to make sure you photos come out glare free. Special attention was given to power and volume buttons that cover original phone buttons. Those look and feel very hardware like and because of small slit on a side, they are easy to press and very responsive. In addition to the case, you also get a bonus screen protector and microfiber cleaning cloth. I can't comment on the quality of screen protector since I didn't install it (I have a display model of S4), but in my hand it felt thicker than cheap ebay screen protectors.
Dimensions of UAG S4 case per my measurements:
Weight: 1.1oz -> 30g
Length: 5.5in -> 138.7mm
Width: 2.9in -> 72.8mm
Thickness: 0.48in -> 12.3mm
Overall, I would consider this one of the top contenders if you are looking for a slim and lightweight case with a really good drop protection, convincing lip bumper, and unique eye catching design. Now, let the pictures do the rest of the talking:

NO pull (just a bit around volume button and usb/speaker ports because its thinner rubber), NO stretch, NO stickiness. This is not silicone rubber typical for Seidio and other cases. This is more in line with smooth TPU material. This S4 case is identical to S3 case. You don't have to take my word for it, go to Amazon and see 4.75 star rating (for S3) out of 1,831 reviews. This is simply the top case!
How thick is the phone with case? in mm or inches.

ugly really? I think it's a sexy biatch

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Telling this from a personal experience, it's 100% guarantee people will ask you about and will compliment you on your UAG case.
Btw, dimensions of UAG S4 case per my measurements:
Weight: 1.1oz -> 30g
Length: 5.5in -> 138.7mm
Width: 2.9in -> 72.8mm
Thickness: 0.48in -> 12.3mm
Regarding dropping face down. Any case dropped face down on uneven surface will have a problem if screen will come in contact. I have tempered glass on my N2 and will never go without it on any of my phones. That is the best way to absorb the shock if your screen comes in direct contact with outside object. Dropping your phone on a concrete or tiles or hardwood floor face down with UAG will protect the screen because you have a bumper lip to keep it away from direct contact. I took close up in my pictures to show it, and you can compare it with other phones I have reviewed (check the link in my signature).
a buddy of mine introduced this case to me a few weeks back on his (iphone) it looked soooo sexy i am definitely getting this for my s4

Between matte finish outer hard plastic PC (non-slippery textured design) and smooth TPU sides (those will NOT stick to your pockets!!!) - its a perfect grip. It's easy in and out of the pocket, don't grab your inner pocket, and yet still gives you a decent hand grip. I'm not saying this is the ONLY case to get, there are a lot of other great cases as well. But this one is definitely at the top of the selection.

That's how it is with any new phone, you get a cheap case from ebay to hold you over while you take your time to research and to pick a better quality case. And when you will finally pick that perfect case, you will decide to get an extended double or triple capacity battery and have to use an ugly case with it or mod another another ugly case to fit it lol!!!
Oh yeah...I actually had an uag for my gs3.... simply the best case I ever had.
The peace of mind it gave is priceless. ..
so I can not think in another car but uag.

Review of Seidio SURFACE w/holster for Note 3 w/lots of pics!!!

This is review of Seidio SURFACE case with holster for Galaxy Note 3. http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung...ekickstand-combo-black-p/bd2-hr3ssgt3k-bk.htm
When you have a winning formula with a popular design, why re-invent the wheel? That seems to be a general idea behind all Seidio cases with SURFACE, ACTIVE, and CONVERT models. I have used and reviewed their cases for Note 2, S4, and now starting my reviews for Note 3. One interesting thing I have discovered, even so the wheel is not re-invented - it is always fine-tuned with new details and subtle improvements. So let's take a look of what Seidio guys cooked for us with this newly introduced case for Note 3.
SURFACE is the slimmest case in Seidio collection, but contrary to some other slim cases it actually offers an acceptable level of protection (both scratch and drop) for everyday use. Designed as two interlocking sliding pieces, it offers a unique way to go on the phone and to take it off without pulling/stretching the edges of the case. Once both of the halves put together, it stays securely intact even if you drop it down. Made out of hard plastic material, it's lined with a soft felt layer inside to keep your phone from scratching and for extra shock dampening. Outside has a very soft rubberized coating to improve the grip, and to add extra friction once you put it on the surface - it will not slide if you bump it off any surface. Also, it provides a decent enough lip to put the phone down without worrying of scratching it's display and allowing extra space margin for screen protector. Assembled, it feels very solid and secure in your hand, rubberized finish is very nice to the touch and at the same time will not pull your pants pockets once you take your Note 3 out.
There was something I've been very curious about prior to receiving this case. Note 3 has a camera/flash bump on the back, it's not flush mounted with a phone battery cover. This should not be a problem with any regular case, but how does it work with SURFACE since you have to slide it on the phone? To my pleasant surprise this detail was not overlooked and Seidio came up with a groove in the upper half of the case so that camera/flash unit doesn't get scratched, and once assembled nothing sticks out beyond the case surface. And speaking of the cutouts, everything is perfectly aligned and easily accessible. There are no sharp edges, every cutout has a nice rounded finish. I especially like the generous opening for power and volume buttons, an improvement from their Note 2 model. You will not have any issues accessing s-pen, or getting to your charging port, and even should have plenty of room or headphones with larger plugs.
Of course, the review of SURFACE will not be complete without mentioning of their unique kickstand - one of the best built-in kickstand available with any of the cases. It's not some cheap plastic after-thought addition, but rather a high quality metal kickstand with magnetic mechanism to snap it back when not in use. From my experience of using it with Note 2, there is no interference with s-pen. The kickstand can only be used in landscape view which is very convenient when you want to enjoy watching videos on your Note 3. And to complete this package, you also have Seidio's holster with one of the best in class spring loaded latches. If you prefer to wear your Note 3 with SURFACE on your belt, this holster will be the best solution for it with inner felt-lining to protect the display from scratching, clip that swivels in 7 angles, and easy to access latch that keeps phone secure in while also allowing one handed operation to remove the phone.
Overall, if you are looking for a great minimal case that offers both scratch and drop protection (although not as much of heavy duty drop), and a convenience of solid kickstand and holster - SURFACE is the top candidate in that class. Also, keep in mind that once CONVERT shell is available, you will be able to add another layer of heavy duty protection on top of SURFACE. Definitely a must have for your Note 3!

Bestbuy has it listed on their site, but it is $44.99 and it is the Platinum Series (BestBuys version of the Seidio Surface case)
Just got this case and it's awesome. Build quality is excellent and kick stand is really good and does not add much bulk. Does any have a tampered screen protector with this?

I have this case and had to stop using it because it felt very slippery..The soft touch didn't feel very pleasant to my touch..Best way I can describe it is it felt like I had baby powder on my hands all the time..Just a personal thing i suppose just thought i'd pass it along.
wth is taking them so damn long on the active
I always get a Active or Surface case from Seidio for all my phones. It's really the only case that I am willing to spend a little more on.
I'm gonna get one once they get a bit cheaper on Amazon or eBay.

Just a quick update. As some might have noticed, original SURFACE had missing temp/humidity port opening on a side next to s-pen. Seidio corrected that problem with an updated case. I took some pictures below for confirmation.
Active was renamed Dilex and is available - Got mine yesterday.

I know it doesn't directly pertain to the thread, but I've been interested in a Active/Dilex case. I've got a concern about the rigidity of the silicone, though. I mainly carry my phone in my pocket, and over the years I've used Otterbox. But the silicone always gets all floppy and starts tearing and breaking off. How rigid is the silicone part of the Dilex? Maybe some pictures if you get the chance?

I would recommend not getting the Dilex then. I carry mine like you do, and only used my Dilex for a week before I took it off. No rigidity whatsoever. Lint magnet. It kept lint on the screen as well.
It's waiting on my wife to get her Note 3 so she can use it in and out of her purse.
Anybody using a tempered glass screen protector with the surface? Are they compatible?
Happy with mine, is the updated one (as you can see here):
Thinking of getting the thin iLoome glass screen protector, so same question as the poster above - anyone using anything like this with this case?

I know that a lot of users here on xda have a tempered glass screen protector. I assume that plenty also have the Surface and would've posted if there was a problem. People are more often to voice their opinion when dissatisfied than satisfied.

That is certainly true. I think I will just get a nicely slim one on the assumption it'll work and then voice my opinion if dissatisfied later
EDIT: Looks like the Spigen one is a no-go, but one user reports that the iLoome works with his Surface (the iLoome flex one is the thinnest available as far as I can tell).

Review of MoKo Nexus 7 HD Slim-Fit and Ultra-Slim cases w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of MoKo Slim-Fit and Ultra-Slim cases for Nexus 7 HD (2013). http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-New-Nexus-Case/dp/B00E4OKXPU/ and http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-New-Nexus-Case/dp/B00CKA1IYU/
Speaking from experience of reviewing multiple dozens of smartphone cases, you can never have one or a dozen to suite your different needs. But when it comes to small tablets, and based on my experience of owning original Nexus 7, I came to a conclusion that you really need to find that one special case you feel comfortable with in your every day use. From my experience, that one special case was always book-cover type which gave me enough protection with thin yet durable padding, flipped cover for the screen protection with some kind of a latching mechanism to stay close if it's dropped by accident, and auto-wake/sleep feature so I don't second guess if display was left on after my kids were playing their battery draining games. That's how I came across Slim-Fit and Ultra-Slim book-cover cases which I'm sure some of you are already familiar with. Why did I choose MoKo? Because their BSC store on Amazon offers Lifetime warranty and because they were the fastest and the most knowledgeable to get back to me with my inquires. In my book this means a better support and customer care. Plus, lifetime warranty means they have a better quality control.
Starting with Slim-Fit, this design offers a protective hardback cover with exterior that comes in 20 different colors and finishes, including smooth PU leather and carbon fiber, and soft microfiber interior that will protect your tablet from scratches. The fitment of the tablet is very secure, and every port cut out is precise without interfering with port openings, external charging cable or headphone cable, clear view of camera lens and access to power and volume up/down buttons. You also get a great corner protection with this case. The cover has a smart functionality of auto-wake/sleep feature that works flawlessly. Furthermore, the inside of the cover has elastic band and a very comfortable hand-strap for holding the tablet with one hand when front cover flipped all the way back. The narrow elastic band can be used to hook around the corner of the tablet side to keep the front cover from flipping back. A simple design, but very effective when you don't have a flat surface nearby and in the middle of watching a movie or reading a book or browsing internet, etc. I can't even say enough how valuable I find this hand-strap in every day use. But when you are near a table or any other flat surface, the case converts into a convenient two angle stand, great for watching a movie gathered around with friends or maybe looking up that recipe while cooking in the kitchen. While my original Nexus 7 case was smooth PU leather, for HD version I chose carbon fiber finish that adds 3D dimension look. Whatever color or finish you choose to personalize your Nexus 7 HD, for sure Slim-Fit case will be great to protect your tablet and to enhance its usability and functionality.

Just like with smartphone cases, some users might actually be looking for cases even slimmer than Slim-Fit, and that's where you find Ultra-Slim to do just that. This smart-shell is very lightweight and still offers a great hardback protection with premium quality PU leather exterior and microfiber interior to protect from scratches. It comes in a wide variety of colors and finishes, and offers a very precise and non obstructive cutouts for the ports, buttons, and the camera. Also, there is an adequate corner protection. The front covers has a magnetic latch which doesn't interfere with tablet functionality. Also, the cover offers the same auto-wake/sleep functionality where screen will be turned off automatically upon closing it. Everything tested to be working great. To keep the case ultra slim, you will not find any hand strap or extra elastic bands. The cover actually tri-folds to form a neat kickstand to use your tablet upright in landscape mode on any flat surface. I also found this tri-fold makes a very comfortable grip to hold your tablet with one hand. This will definitely come handy on the go when you want to use your Nexus 7 as book reader or in any other situation where you want to free up your other hand. As an alternative to Slim-Fit, Ultra-Slim has a very sophisticated slim look and still offers a great protection!
Here are the pictures.
the carbon fibre look is nice, is it magnetic ON/OFF as well? any ebay? i wouldn't mind getting that one
They refreshed the Ultra-Slim case!
I have the old version with the metal thing on the cover.
Nope, not going to spend money on another case.
Nope..
Slim Fit
I absolutely love the Slim Fit for my Nexus 7 2013. I chose the black leather finish.
The fit is perfect and the quality seems to be very good. The stitching is nicely done and the leatherette finish is very good quality. At least for feel you'd almost think it was leather even though you know it isn't. It has stood up to my two year old tossing it around without so much as a scratch.

Yep, the sleep/wake function works perfectly! Very slick looking case, and the tablet still feels slim overall even with a case on. Plus, extra padding on the front/back and corner protection gives it a piece of mind if you drop it.
I have the Slim-Fit case and the Poetic Slimline case, another vendor's version of the MoKo Ultra_Slim case. I prefer the Slim-Fit case for use around the house because the open-close seems more natural and I have found that I really like using the hand strap. The Ultra_Slim case is nice because it is much slimmer and lighter, making it better for general out-and-about carrying - the N7 in that case is amazingly thin and light. Both case work fine with wireless chargers.

Gotta say I really like this case. It fits like a glove and isn't very bulky at all. I can't believe how inexpensive they are.
Thanks for the pictures. You have a very nice kitchen.
I've been using the Slim-Fit for a few weeks now and it's a great case for the money. I find the on/off function to be a little wonky at times, but everything else is just fine.
i got the WHITE moko slim magnetic case, haven't opened it yet, got on amazon for 18cdn.
maybe a knockoff, it doesn't have the MOKO logo at the front ( it does have the MOKO logo on the magnetic clasp

I got the same case from Amazon. Compared to the pics of the case it looks just fine. So far...the case has worked great.
Picked up the carbon fiber (softish) case for my girlfriend for her N7 that she got for christmas, and JUST got home with my own...
Think I'm going with the hard shell one, but I'm a bit curious:
I use my tablets in bed a lot as I don't want a TV/laptop in my bedroom and I was wondering about the reliability of the fold-stand for the hard case...How do you think it would "stand" (I'm sorry) on say a bed?
For any stand it's preferable to have a hard surface so its leveled, otherwise it would tip over. But if you are in bed, wouldn't you just keep it propped on your stomach?
Btw, both of the cases work perfectly with wireless charging. The charging takes almost as long as it does without a case, so I assume it charges at the same speed.
Three questions
With the Slim-Fit case, does the handle and/or grooves leave markings on the face of the device? Meaning, when you close it and reopen it, are there stripes on the Nexus?
Does the Nexus really fit securely in the Slim-Fit case with just the corners protected and not the sides, top or bottom?
When you close either one, do they lay flat (either case) or is there a way to close it tight like a closure flap or strap similar to the one hooking it backwards? (Hope you understand what I mean)
Thanks in advance.

No markings at all, its microfiber material - super soft to the touch, the kind you would use to clean your screen.
Super secure fitment, actually a bit hard to take out. It will loosen up a bit after awhile, especially if you pop out the bottom two corner protections when using in kickstand position, but still will grip it secure. It should survive a drop, although if you are outdoors and drop your tablet a lot, I would suggest something like Seidio DILEX for more extreme protection.
If you look at the first picture of Slim-Fit, on the edge of the cover (next to where elastic band is) there is a fix flap that will clasp the other side of the case when closed. So the cover flap will not open by itself. You need to physically push on it to open. This is very important because if you drop your tablet and cover flap will flip open - it could land on the display, but instead it will stay shot and as a matter of fact that extra rigid padding on the cover will provide a shock protection.

Review of Seidio DILEX (former ACTIVE) Nexus 7 HD Case w/Cover and lots of pics!!!

This is a review of Seidio DILEX (formerly known as ACTIVE) case for Nexus 7 HD with multi-purpose cover. http://www.seidioonline.com/asus-google-nexus-7-2013-dilex-case-cover-black-p/bd2-csk3asn72-bk.htm
I have been using and reviewed Seidio cases for a lot of smartphones and tablets, and I'm sure a lot of you familiar with their high quality products, including their line of Platinum cases sold exclusively at Best Buy. Formerly know as ACTIVE, Seidio changed the name to DILEX which sometime creates confusion for their die-hard fans, but make no mistake - it's only a name change with a design staying the same. As a matter of fact, I have exactly the same case for my original 2012 Nexus 7, and it's always our go-to case whenever we take it outdoors on a trip. What makes this particular design stand out is Multi-Purpose cover which is a MUST HAVE companion if you are deciding to get DILEX by itself without a cover.
To start off, the case itself features their dual-layered protection with inner soft silicone (shock/impact absorbing polymer layer) and exterior skeleton polycarbonate casing for extra corner/side protection and to hold inner layer from pulling off. Though design looks the same across their smartphone and tablets, I find that with every new release Seidio fine-tunes the fitment. The only thing remaining the same, the dust magnet of the inner layer I definitely found the fitment of the inner silicone layer to be snugger in comparison to previous designs. As a matter of fact, it could almost be used by itself without exoskeleton But I wouldn't recommend that because strength and flexibility of that external PC layer provides excellent corner protection. Surprisingly with both layer on, the case still looks slim. With a case assembled, you will appreciate precise alignment of all the ports, camera, extra grips with finger grooves along the side of inner layer, and volume/power buttons being completely covered to prevent any specks of dust while still providing tactile response when pushing buttons. You also get an acceptable lip protection around the screen when tablet is placed face down. But just like with 2012 version of Nexus 7, I think the multi-purpose cover is the star of this package.
First of all, this cover is designed to give you an ultimate screen protection, even if you drop it on a concrete from a shoulder height (just saying, so don't try it at home!!!). It also reinforces the corners and side protection, and securely latches to the DILEX case by means of little corner dimples. Its secure enough that cover will not come loose even if you drop it. The cover goes on the top, and when not in use can be placed on the back in exactly the same latching manner. For those who are familiar with Seidio cases, they always have a signature kickstand. Here, the adjustable stand is built into this cover and could be set to 10 different angles. When not in use, the stand folds flat and has a layer of felt finish so it doesn't scratch the tablet's screen. Once you prop it up, you can place Nexus 7 or any other smartphone or a small tablet in either landscape or portrait orientation. The bottom of this multi-purpose cover has non-slip pads to add a decent friction so it will not move anywhere even on a slippery glass table top surface.
Overall, this case has a fantastic design and an excellent built quality, all of which will give you a peace of mind when using/carrying your Nexus 7 HD. Yes, it comes at a premium price, but it definitely worth every penny considering you are getting a rugged case, a rugged unique cover, and a unique built-in kickstand.
Here are the pictures.

Holy crap. Thank you for this review. New to Android anything, still have a dumb phone. Got a Nexus 7 and am loving it, but it's still running around naked, wallowing in its own feces. Agonizing over a cover for it. I'm not a big fan of the screen protector on my mp3 player, so I was eyeing folio-type cases that cover the screen and had it narrowed down to the Moko Slim-Fit, Ultra-Slim, or Poetic Slim-Line. The Devicewear Ridge was on the list too, but constantly seeing "Vegan Leather" gets my hackles up and has kinda soured me toward that case. It's like saying Consensual Rape. Or Non-lethal Murder. Maybe if it was made of real vegans... And wasn't $10 more than the others mentioned.
Anyway, this has thrown a wrench into my going-with-a-folio-case thing.
1. All of these cases cover the screen.
2. All of them look like they have good low angle stand viewing. I've been propping my Nexus up in front of my numberpad and treating it as a second monitor/search tool when the PC is occupied or it keeps me from alt tabbing.
The Seidio does give up any sleep/wake ability, makes the Nexus a lot thicker, and seems like it would add a few seconds to quick access and maybe require two hands.
How much does the Seidio weigh? Any advice on my choice between them? And again, thanks for the review. That looks like one heck of a case.
The weight is on par or maybe even lighter than folio cases, but this one has a different purpose. Btw, I have reviewed in details MoKo cases you mentioned above as well here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583631
From what you have described, sounds like Moko Slim-Fit probably going to be a better solution for you. Seidio is more for a rugged application, especially outdoors. Get that N7 dresses ASAP, you don't want to drop it and shatter the display.
Dang it after I just ordered this devicewear case. I will be ordering one of these soon. Thanks for the great pics.

I've been using this case for a while now and couldn't be happier. It really is fantastic for me because I am on and off trains and busses all day and rely on the protection.
Also charges with my wireless charger still.
Highly recommended.
I had one of these on my 2012 Nexus 7 great protection. The silicone had a horrible smell never went away. I'm considering getting this case soon, Does the silicone smell?
Thanks

I wish the hard piece on the back didn't have the circular cutout in the middle! Makes it look VERY similar to ipad cases, as they have that cutout to show the Apple logo on the tablet. Other than that (and the silicone being a lint magnet!), it looks like a great case.
SwiftKey'ed from my White Sprint Note 3 via XDA Premium
Thanks for the pics, just bought one! I really like how Seidio implement their kickstands. I have a similar case for my Note 3, and the kickstand is the best feature about it. It's costly, but worth every dollar!
No smell. ☺
^Mine did have a pretty strong smell initially. I kind of liked it, like the new car smell. Completely gone after a week.
This is the best case imo.
Good case, but I hate covers that collect dust.
so far so good with this case, it works great...even though it does attract some lint it comes off pretty easy. I had no smell from this case, so I can't comment on that. I will say that it's very very soft to the touch so it doesn't feel "grippy" when I hold it. If I attach the front cover to the back then it's got more grip to it. I wonder if it will because rougher with use and thus feel more grip when I hold it.
To throw a vote in here, I've had this case since January and I'm really happy with it, definitely worth the price. It looks beautiful in red (garnet or something like that?), IMO the black version looks a little too industrial.
I've dropped it a few times on concrete from waist height and made a few smallish scratches on the hard plastic outer, but overall it still looks great and the device is, of couse, fine
